Flynn You know that voice in the back of your head telling you not to do something? Well, I don’t have one, at least not one that functions properly. Mine eggs me on, daring me to do my worst. How many stolen touches can I endure before I’m begging for more? I’m supposed to be changing the player, not falling for him. Author's This is a full-length, swoony, heartfelt, standalone sports romance. HEA. Opposites attract. Friends-to-lovers. Slow burn. Fake relationship. Age Gap. Laugh-out-loud banter, a troublemaker hero, and a strong heroine.
Jacob Chance grew up in New England and still lives there today. He’s a martial artist, a football fan, a practical joker, and junk food lover. A USA Today bestselling author of sports romance and romantic suspense, Jacob plans on writing many more stories.
A sports romance read with a nice plot. It didn’t bring out emotions and the flow didn’t thrill me. It felt as if the author finished writing the story and then decided to add a few more scenes and characters as to be more catching. For example, in the last chapter, the hero told to the heroine that a few years ago he had seen her on tv and told his grandfather she was the woman he was going to marry someday. What was the reason behind this declaration to be told in the end of the story?
While the story was evolving, there was no indication of him thinking of marrying her or his statement to his grandfather! He started having feelings at the half of the story. 🤷🏻♀️ There were some things that felt unfitting...

Flynn is a football star and he is ready to take that next step to super stardom but he needs to give up his drinking and his wild boy ways. Wouldn't a fake relationship help fix this? Enter Nadia the very businesslike sports agent. The banter between these two gave me some laugh out loud moments. What a great sweet sports romance.
A loose cannon ready to implode at any second. He may have been a professional football player on the field, but off it he was an out of control party boy. When his future is in jeopardy, it’s time to turn things around.
Nadia is his gorgeous, overly organized and driven agent. She needs to find a way to change his behavior. However, it’s Flynn that comes up with the perfect resolution. A relationship just may save his career.
Once he convinces Nadia she’s the best choice to be his fake girlfriend, the wheels are forever set in motion. The man who could not be tamed is about to become the perfect boyfriend.
The sweet, swoony and sexiness will flow off the pages. Flynn took a bit to win me over, but once he did I was completely on board. His thoughtful gestures and romantic gifts sealed the deal for me. He suffered from Peter Pan syndrome, but quickly learned that to be with a woman like Nadia, he needed to go all in and make better decisions. The chemistry they shared was straight up FIRE! I loved their connection, as well as the evolution of their relationship. A great start to a series I look forward to reading in the future releases.
I couldn't connect with the characters . Nadia seemed formal and distant. Flynn turned into a boy scout the moment their deal started . Nothing interesting happened during the whole book . I suppose this series is not for me 🤷♀️
"Our kiss, though unexpected, feels inevitable, like the sun rising each morning. Some forces are too powerful to stop once they’ve been set in motion, and this is one of them. All we can do is hang on and enjoy the ride."
Bad boy Flynn has garnered too much bad publicity and risks ruining his career as a football superstar playing for the Charleston Pirates unless he undergoes an image makeover and curbs his self destructive behavior. With a second chance from the team's owner, he enters into a fake relationship with his agent Nadia in a last attempt to salvage his career. Although seeming to be complete opposites, smart and beautiful Nadia proves to be the calming presence and stabilizing force Flynn needs. So what happens when their relationship unexpectedly turns into something real?
With a delicious slow burn, their story didn't completely pull me in for a long time but everything I thought changed at the 75% mark. I felt so much emotion from this point forward as I watched Flynn and Nadia overcome their insecurities and doubts, not being defined by their pasts, learning to trust in unconditional love. They balanced each other perfectly as she tamed his wild side, inspiring him to be a better man and take responsibility for his actions. And the chemistry between them was combustible! I would have liked to see more angst earlier in their story but the way everything ultimately fell into place was perfect.
"Love comes when it thinks you’re ready. You don’t get to pick when you fall."

** Special thanks to author Jacob Chance for gifting me this book through the Spoiled by Chance group. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. **
Jacob Chance dialled into the perfect formula with Changing The Player. It's the perfect amount of banter, chemistry, sizzling sexy times, and heartfelt emotion. It completely swept me off my feet. This story was banterific, full of fiery chemistry, and all the swoons. Jacob Chance knocked it out of the park and then some!!
I fell hard for Flynn and Nadia’s story. My heart fell fast and furious for Flynn and I loved his total confidence, humour, charisma and his easy going demeanor. But more than anything I loved his kind heart and the insecurities he strived to overcome. That boy was all heart and delicious heat and the full package! He had so many hidden facets beneath the surface and was so much more than a pretty face. And Nadia! She was the absolute best! She was so relatable, completely real, and honest. I loved that the she had very real issues that hit home and was overall the most perfect match for Flynn. These two were something special. There was an authenticity in their interactions with each other, a playful affection that lit me up inside. I am low key obsessed with them and the addictive romantic chemistry that sparked between them.
Changing The Player sets the stage for an amazing new series from one of my favorite authors and I already can't wait for more. I had the BEST time reading this book. It’s funny, smart, relatable, sexy – everything I want in a sports romance and more. I fell in love with Flynn and Nadia, and their sweet, hilarious romance, and can’t wait to read more of the new characters. I am dying to get my hands on the next book.
Football? Fake Lovers? Jacob Chance as the author?! What could be better!!
Flynn and Nadia may be my new favorite couple!! I absolutely adored this one.
I loved the whole fake girlfriend, will they/won't they, push and pull....all of it!! The whole package!
Flynn, you just knew there was a softie in there somewhere. He just needed the right one to steer him home. Nadia was that one! Strong, tough, and needed that little push that to get over the past and on to the future.
They were made for each other. Gah! I can't wait for more sports romances like this story.
Another hit!! Changing the Player packs it all - humor, romance, heat, loss, and last but not least … Jacob Chance’s signature, a swoony husband material hero!!!!! I loved the cameos from the other characters in the Boston Terriers series, Clancy, Trevor and Owen. Kendra, Flynn’s sister never misses an opportunity to put him in his place, and I cannot wait for her own story.
With CHANGING THE PLAYER Jacob Chance has once again exceeded all my expectations, he continues to do this with every book that he writes. he definitely wears the crown informing everyone that he is the King of Sports Romance. Flynn Shaughnessy and Nadia Patel are welcome additions to his already awesome football family.
"... that's the beauty of our relationship - you don't need to impress me." "Right." So why do I want to so badly?
Flynn Shaughnessy is the badboy, playboy of the Charleston Pirates, and his last discretion may just be the final limit as far as the team's owner is concerned. Flynn has been told to lose his wild ways off the field, otherwise he could lose his position on the team. Nadia Patel, Flynn's agent, calls him in to discuss his current situation. A suggestion is made to enter into a fake relationship to settle him down. Not having any close female friends Flynn suggests that Nadia helps him out. Nadias agrees, setting a two month limit. Can they pull off the impossible and save his career? Will this affect their professional relationship?
"I've got a career to put first and that's the reason we started this fake relationship that's now starting to feel a little too real."
I loved the way in which Jacob paced his story, it is a slow-burn, yet in other ways it moves at a rather quick pace. The pairing of Flynn and Nadia was exquisite, professionally they had known each other for years, however privately it is a different story. Event, dates and quiet talks together see some of the fakeness disappear and as realness beginning to take over. Nadia is everything Flynn didn't know he needed, and he is the same for her. She's strong, smart, caring and beautiful, he's attentive, caring, understanding and very easy on the eyes. She has always followed the rules, while he has always beern a free spirit. Yet these two opposites find something together that they weren't looking for.
"She's the sexiest woman I've ever seen, and at this precise second it hits me - I'm fucked. Completely and utterly fucked."
Jacob has the ability of writing characters that his readers can't help falling for. From his hilarious one-liners, to their little nuances, Flynn and Nadia's story ensures that the reader continues to turn the pages. Neither Flynn or Nadia are shy at expressing their emotions, their banter is quite amusing - even more so when they realise that the fake has become real. Both Flynn and Nadia carry emotional baggage, which endears them even more to one another and to the reader. They are relatable and realistic in the way they approach their relationship, nothing seems forced.
Another brilliant read from the King Jacob Chance. Strong characters, heady emotions, witty writing, everything I've come to expect from this Master of words. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, Kissing The Quarterback.
CHANGING THE PLAYER ... Jacob Chance at his best.

Everytime I read a book by this author, he exceeds my expectations. Flynn has this wild boisterous personality that he shows the world. Nadia is this workaholic sports agent who needs to reign him in. Together we learn so much about them. Flynn is so much more and his insecurities left me wanting to hug him. Nadia draws him in and he brings her out. They work so well together. I loved the slow burn and anticipation. It was also fun to see some of the other guys from previous books. Their chemistry is so hot and he is so romantic. Their banter had me laughing outloud. Loved it. All the feels. That epilogue was intense 🤣
Flynn and Nadia’s story was a beautiful journey! I loved seeing Flynn grow and learn through his mistakes! It took some heated moments but the man proved to be more than anything I could imagine!
Nadia is seriously an amazing heroine! I loved her no nonsense attitude when she needed it but that she also had a heart of gold! It was also amazing to “see” some old familiar faces!
This book lives up to its title. He definitely gets changed by Nadia, or maybe his true self is finally released. The character development on this book was great. I laughed... a lot! Smiled , and even teared up a little. Flynn had so much humor and emotion to him he’s become one of my new favs!
If you ever rely on reviews to decide on what to read..trust this one! Click now! The banter in this book was amazing. The chemistry was off the charts. The heat was..well, H.O.T and the super low angst between Flynn and Nadia was simply refreshing! 5 stars of awesomeness!
Jacob Chance has simply outdone himself with Flynn and Nadia's story. From the first page to the last, as a reader you are with them every step of the way and what a journey it is for a reader. This books takes you by the hand and heart and holds you close. Just incredible- Thanks Jacob for a champion book.
Flynn Shaunnessy is the epitome of a bad boy football player! When he goes too far, his agent Nadia Patel is called into the football teams management office to work out a solution before he loses his job! When Nadia speaks to Flynn an agreement is made for her to become his pretend girlfriend! What happens when they start to catch feelings for each other? What happens when a tragedy occurs and the fallout seems too hard to come back from? I loved the chemistry between Flynn and Nadia, especially as Nadia was older and knew how her life was going.
This long awaited story for Flynn is awesome! Jacob Chance stays true to the character of Flynn, first introduced in the Boston Terriers series and the way that his playboy life changes into a loving and caring partner is seamless. Nadia is the perfect woman for this guy, bringing out the swooniest moments of this heartthrob. Well done Jacob!
This book was so good! Bad boy football player meets his match with Nadia. They learn how to navigate things in their relationship and learn more about what they want from each other.
This story of Flynn and Nadia takes you on a magical ride. You fall in love with each of them as they fall in love with each other. It has truth and grit and perseverance. It has heart. A must read!
This book is absolutely perfect. Flynn and Nadia are wonderful characters. I love every single moment. Their journey together is memorable. The writing and flow of this book is done well. I absolutely recommend this book.
Never disappointed. I thought maybe it would be the same old usual story just different names. But I was pleasantly surprised at the flow of the story. It didn’t drag and keeled me interested. Thank you again for an outstanding can’t wait for the next one book.
This is one of Jacob Chance’s best books. It is full of heart and love and understanding. You will laugh and cry and fall in love with Flynn and Nadia.
Jacob Chance did it again! Another great story and the start of a new series(???) And it ties back to some of my favorite characters. Loved, loved, loved it.
Jacob really out did himself with this one. Flynn is absolutely hilarious, a little out of control and fun loving, while Nadia is a hot strong independent women who is the perfect balance for Flynn. Jacob nailed it with this one, easily my favorite from Jacob! Can’t wait for the series to continue!!
I was excited for this book, Changing The Player, and start of a new series. Flynn is a sweet, sexy football star who plays hard on the field and even harder off of it. One more time in the headlines, and he will need to find a new team to play for. Thanks to his smart, hot and take no bs sports agent, Nadia, he is able to hold onto his spot on the team. Not only that, but he falls in love with his fake girlfriend. Can Nadia actually change the player for good? I love the chemistry between Flynn and Nadia. They definitely bring out the best in each other. Well done, Jacob Chance!
Flynn, where he goes there is trouble. Flynn’s talent on the football field is phenomenal, it’s his behavior off the field that has him in some serious trouble. Nadia, his agent delivers the bad news ownership is done with his behavior of the fields clean up his act or he will be gone. Nadia meets with her talented player & delivers the bad news. Nadia & Flynn's plan may very well get them in hot water. Jacob Chance has wonderfully developed these characters that all went to Boston U. Do yourself a favor if you haven’t read the other books start at beginning, they are all great reads!
