After the Israelites were saved from Egypt, they were stuck in a desert for forty years. And many Christians, after they’ve been saved from sin, find themselves stuck in a dry, desolate, and defeated Christian life. They want to follow God to the land of “milk and honey” (Exodus 3:8), but they are neither equipped to cross the desert nor prepared to meet the enemies they will face along the way. So instead of marching on in victory, these Christians are sheltering in place. I was once stuck in that desert myself. But God, who delivered me from Egypt, delivered me from the desert as well. And as you turn the pages of this book, we shall sit down together. And, by God’s grace, I will share with you the powerful truths that helped me leave Egypt far behind and enter the Promised Land of God's victory, fruitfulness, and rest in Jesus Christ.
