Whew chile! Savauge and Essence wasn't nothin' but drama. When we meet them, they're already three years deep into their best FWB entanglement. Both of them are clearly in love with each other but, for some reason, just won't admit it. They've actually been in love with one another since childhood. Savauge has been Essence's protector since she was a teenager. That protectiveness grew into affection and love right into adulthood. But, as always, it takes another man coming on the scene to make Sav find some act right. He had to put them hands on Jeremiah then, put a little base in his voice to let Essence know what it is. That hood mentality can be scary and sexy at the same time. I need more Savage because, these little 39 pages were definitely not enough. This was a great introduction into Lavendale and the Knights. I look forward to reading more about them.
This was a cute and spicy friends to lovers short! Savauge and Essence have been friends since the age of 16, he’s always been her protector! He’s come to her aid consistently throughout the years when she’s suffered abuse and the hands of her father and other men in her life! This has only strengthened their bond and now 12 years later they are running a successful business together.
Essence and Savauge have a chemistry that can’t be denied and while they’ve skirted the lines of being more to each other, Essence is tired of being put on the shelf by Savauge! She’s finally ready to move on with her new NFL bae and just like always, Savauge’s timing couldn’t be worse when he decides now’s the time to finally make her his!
This drama filled short will keep you on the edge of your seat and definitely leave you wanting more! Sadly you won’t get it because the entire book was a tease😩
If you know AP then this is pretty much her MO with a lot of her books. Nonetheless check it out and allow yourself to briefly get wrapped up in these two!
I just finished a cute short by AP and wanted more of her stories. This one definitely peaked my interest, and the characters have potential, but it lacked execution.
Savauge and Essence had been friends for over a decade and for the past few years had crossed the friendship barrier. They are now at a crossroad where they have to decide if they will remain friends or become lovers. The drama around that storyline around made sense, but needed to be a little more cohesive. It lacked flow.
Damn AP! You are really killing the game with these shorts! Sauvage, was the ish! Friend, protector, lover and money maker! 😂 Essence was everything to him, but he tried to keep her in that friend zone. Until...... Essence loved Sauvage from the beginning, as he protected her when no one else would. Trying to be with someone else other than Sauvage was going to be challenge in itself, but bringing the other guy in his face; turned him into a "savage"! Whew! This read went from zero to a hundred quick as hell, and I am here for every millisecond! Cannot wait to see what else Lavendale has to offer. Great read! 👍👍👍
Several years ago you couldn't pay me to read shorts, novellas, or novelette but this author she could write a newspaper article and I would read it. Her storyline is engaging, authentic and even in shorts, they are also complete. Sauvage and Essence are the truth. Talk about savage!!! Definitely that and more!
Queen Aubree really gave us a cute yet interesting short. Savauge name fit him and he eff Jeremiah up for trying Essence. Note why that fool didn't take heed to that a** whooping Savauge gave him is beyond me, but he learned the hard way when Essence put a bullet I his a**for putting his hands on her😳👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. The sex tho😜. Looking forward to reading part 2
Okay this was short and the introduction to The Knights I'm here for it. I like Savauge and Essence's love already we have a little glimpse of their story. I can't wait for the rest. Always a pleasure Aubree 😊.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Aubree Pynn on our facebook group show 'Reigning Words Book Review Lounge'... These were an entertaining quick read - 1 of 4 books in Aubree Pynn's Lavendale approx. 200 pg series. Savage introduces us to the first of 4 brothers the Knights - whose lives revolve around their roles in their club 'Flame', within their 'crew' & with their queens. We meet Savage as he and his best friend Essence have a series of quick moving scenes that pull us in and make them have to face the reality of their relationship... friends? lovers? The beginning or the end? It's a spicy story and I thoroughly experienced almost every emotion watching them figure it out...Yes I said 'watching' lol - the words provided a visual picture in my head! haha Though these stories are short, we get a good glimpse into every aspect of their lives and personalities. Love scenes were raw and steamy. The storyline builds in each book with a bit of neighborhood background of their city thrown in which. The story leaves us wanting more and I can't wait until another story in this series drops later this year. The author is known for multiple books back to back so maybe we'll get more than one book to continue this series that leaves us with questions as to what's gonna happen next! I love books that highlight different characters and in this one my favorite would be Menace something about him stirred my soul. He was pretty intense to me! This series definitely makes you want to meet the whole city as I don't know about you but I love to know every intricate detail of the background of relationships, bonds etc. So I definitely plan on reading her other 12 book series which involves the 'crew' that are not fans of guys on this side of town! Wtih that being said I'm heading to the HIlls soon to explore this 12 book series! (Ganton Hills to be exact;)
"Savage" by Aubree Pynn takes readers on an exhilarating journey through Lavendale, a world where power and royalty are defined by knights and queens. The novel delves deep into the themes of nobility, chivalry, and the complexities of leadership.
The story's central plot revolves around Lavendale, a realm where knights and their queens hold sway, in stark contrast to the Monarchs and Prophets of the neighboring Hills. Pynn skillfully weaves a tale of ambition, betrayal, and the struggle for supremacy, drawing readers into the heart of Lavendale's intricate power dynamics.
One of the standout aspects of "Savage" is the vivid character development. The protagonists, particularly the knights and queens, are multi-dimensional, with their own motivations and flaws. As they navigate the treacherous political landscape, readers are treated to a nuanced exploration of honor, loyalty, and the consequences of one's choices.
Pynn's world-building is also commendable, immersing readers in Lavendale's rich culture, traditions, and landscapes. The author's descriptive prose paints a vivid picture of this unique realm, making it feel both enchanting and perilous.
While "Savage" excels in many areas, it does require readers to invest in the intricacies of Lavendale's society and history. The plot's complexity may be daunting to some, but those who enjoy political intrigue and character-driven narratives will find it a rewarding read.
In conclusion, "Savage" by Aubree Pynn is a captivating fantasy novel that explores themes of power, nobility, and the human condition within the backdrop of Lavendale's knightly culture. With its well-drawn characters and immersive world-building, it offers a compelling reading experience for fans of epic fantasy.
I got enough of the past and present to be satisfied. That’s how you start off a series.
Two people who were linked from childhood and stayed down for each other to adulthood. Add in blurred lines and buried feelings along with hood life and illegal activities and you have some serious complications.
How do you deal with feelings you can’t express for fear of losing what is familiar? How do you demand more from someone who you are afraid of losing? How do you navigate a situationship with your best friend? How do you run a business legal & illegal with your unrequited love? Can you really move on from the one you love?
These are the very things Sav and Ess have to deal with in this novella. They have to be addressed, discussed, dealt with because it’s dangerous for them if they don’t.
I'm giving this short novella a 4 rating. This follows 3 year friends with benefits Essence and Savage. Its clear from the jump that BOTH parties want more but are unwilling to bend well until Essence begins to entertain another man. Savage shuts that mess down.
The author gives you enough crumbs to bite but not enough to say your satisfy. Since this is a series I kinda want to see what happens next especially because it ended in a weird spot. Finally verdict I think some may like this and some may say this isn't enough.
AP is a master of packing a major punch into shorts and Savage is no different - I felt like I got a full length novel in less than 40 pages! How Sway?! This story grips you by the neck from page 1 and doesn’t let go (and candidly your don’t wanna be let go LOL) Absolutely LOVE Savauge and Essence! Already love Ganton Hills and now I can’t wait to see more from Lavendale!
Sometimes you need to be reminded that somebody is ready to fill your shoes. Essence is tired of waiting for her turn, so she moves on...or so she thought. This short was fire! A great introduction to the land of Lavendale and the Knights.
The backstory for Savauge and Essence is going to be dangerous because this lil snippet was everything!
I can not wait to learn more about them, their city, and their peeps...The Knights.
How does she do this to me? How does Aubree Pynn write a short to introduce a whole new town? I truly need a realtor at this point. Savage snatches you up from page one and keeps you in its grips until the last page. The passion and heat that flow off the pages of this story is disrespectful, respectfully. If you aren’t reading a book by Aubree, what have you been doing with your life? Savage is a must read.
I am not sure why this was in “erotica” first and foremost. But, outside of that. This was a weak story line. I had a hard time figuring out the transitions. It was 36 pages that just didn’t correlate into a good enough story. I won’t be reading any more stories from this author. Truthfully, I wanted a refund but maybe she can use the $1.99 to invest in some creative writing courses. Nice concept, poor execution.
This is on the same wave length as Alexandria House’s first book in the St. Louis Cyclones series. Except in this one she doesn’t get her lick back. It was short, straight to the point, an easy read, and understandable why things are happening the way they are. Being beholden and not chosen, for whatever reason, is akin to struggle love for me. And I’m usually not here for those books. This situation was righted.
The chemistry between Savage and Essence was palpable from the very first page. Ms. Pynn has a knack for quickly drawing the reader into the storyline, establishing a connection with the characters and holding you captive. I enjoyed how we learned about their past, present and caught a glimpse into their future. I'm looking forward to more of Lavendale.
This was a short that I needed more of. I want more of Sav's and Ess's past and what happens next! I was enthralled with this story from beginning to end. I normally do not like cliffhangers at all, but for some reason, this one only made me want more. I can't wait for book 2!
This was soooo good but i need more like now. First of all, Savauge is BAE. He got that hood mentality and he wasn’t having Essence with nobody but him. I’m glad Essence handled Jeremiah bc he was a hotmess. I cannot wait to see what happens next.... this is 🔥‼️🖤
This was my first time reading a book by this author and I loved. It was a very short book, but I was captivated nonetheless. I loved the characters Savauge and Essence. Their love for each other and connection could not be denied. I look forward to reading more of the Lavendale series. Great job!
This short story drew me in with the first paragraph. A man that claims to always protect the 1 he loves and when he is not around he has embedded in her how to protect herself. In this short ride we take with Essence and Savauge we get a glimpse into love...unfiltered. I can’t wait to see what the next saga with these two will be
I can’t wait to see this couple again. I always enjoy this author’s ability to put so much depth into a short story/novella. This author creates her own universe & effortlessly pulls readers in with every piece that she pens. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
