She was off limits, but the moment I touched her she was mine.
I’d climbed the ranks of the Beretta Mafia from the age of eighteen, never once wavering in my devotion to the organization. I did what was needed, no matter the cost.
The Mafia came first. Always.
But that changed the moment my lips pressed against hers. The forbidden fruit that I wasn’t able to resist. The one person I could never truly have. Sofia Beretta. The little sister of my best friend—and my boss.
I’d been a trusted ally to Lorenzo Beretta since we were kids, but now I’d crossed a line. One that I wasn’t sure I could come back from.
I was trapped between loyalty and love. So I made the only choice I could see. I chose him—I chose the Mafia.
I told myself I did the right thing. I told myself it was best for everyone.
But I’d made a grave mistake.
Now the choice was clearer than ever. I had to fix it. I had to get her back. But was I too late?

Spoiler alert!!! I have read several mob books and this one was very weak. The second in command just dropped off his bosses sister off to walk into a building never checked it didn’t stay with her in one of the scenes and left her for 6 hours unattended. So bizarre and not well thought which led to her getting gang raped!! Than some brother we read hardly anything about manages to find all the rapist we never know how. I’m disappointed I wasted my time reading this book!
Having read Lorenzo Beretta and Mateo Caputo back to back i started looking forward to this third installment! I couldn't wait to get into this story from the moment i found out about it! I picked it up and dived right back into The Unseen Underground world. I enjoyed this third book!
Christian and Sofia's journey pulled me in right from the get go! I really liked their chemistry and the whole forbidden aspect. I wasn't sure how everything was going to go for these two and that got me even more into their story. I loved feeling so much with these characters from beginning to end!
With Christian Gallo, Ms.Davies has created a good read that will get your attention quickly! I can't wait to get more of The Unseen Underground with the fourth installment, Dante Beretta!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Foreword PR & Marketing / the author*
Older brother’s best friend and mafia combined, yes please, Christian and Sofia’s story is an enthralling blend of each.
Sofia has grown up as the daughter, and later the sister of the Boss, but in those roles she was always protected from the ugliness the life had inside. She was naive in a lot of ways, yet in others she knew more than she was ever meant to. She was on the quiet side, used to fitting the role she was expected to, but there was something brewing just beneath the surface of the quiet girl who did what she was told, and the man she’d crushed on from the moment she met him was the person that would bring her sassy side out.
Christian has been best friends with Lorenzo since they were children, side by side as they both rose to the highest ranks, Lorenzo as boss, and Christian his underboss. Chrustian’s personality was a bit on the soft side as far as what I felt fit the role. I like my mafia men commanding and with a darkness from the world they live in to be a part of their personality, and while Christian was a bit ruthless in the mafia side of his life, he was more “normal.”
The first interaction between Christian and Sofie felt forced, but thankfully in the next scene it felt natural, not just natural but palpable. Sofia had this a level of sass and defiance that she never had before, she knew what she wanted and she was no longer willing to accept less than.
Sofia’s emotions hit every one of my feels, even managing to make a few tears leak out. There were moments I wanted to reach inside the pages and knock Lorenzo upside the head. My heart ached for Sofia and Christian, at different times for different reasons. Their emotions fueled their actions, and with that brought a heartbreaking tragedy.
Christian Gallo is an intoxicating blend of palpable chemistry, feels, and steam.
Be warned, this is NOT for the faint of heart. Sofia and Christian almost have it all, but the pesky reality of who they both are in this world is keeping them from living their love for all to see. And when Sofia has had enough of being a secret, she pushes for a promise that was made to be kept, only to have it broken instead. But will the friend she turns to be the worst thing to ever go bump in the dark?
I was so angry at Christian for how he handled a few things, and I was nowhere near over my anger when the worst of the worst happened. But when I saw exactly what lengths Christian would go to just to bring Sofia back to the land of wanting to live, I had to live him again. After all, he didn’t back down once it was all out in the open. He didn’t give up. And he definitely didn’t let Sofia retreat into the horrors of her mind. Instead, he let his love be what she needed…and that love helped Sofia immensely. I mean, Dante helped the most, but Christian’s love was a close second. And the helpers known as love and vengeance made for as satisfying a twist as could be here, for all involved.
Now I have questions. Who was the woman? What was Dante hiding before now? Is the guy who appeared about to lose his lunch involved in a much more malignant way? I guess I have to wait for Dante’s story to get some answers.
The Underground Queen make it again! For this book i was waiting for long time, and I'm so happy that finally I read her.
Again my favorite trope completely swallowed me in the story of Sofia Beretta, who has been in love with her big brother best friend Christian Gallo since she was a child. When I read about her character I immediately find connection with her. She was feeling completely alone and in cage in her own house,no matter that her brother and mother was there. Some unpredictable things brought her to the most horrible things that she experience and while i read i feel how my heart broke for her.
Our hero was literally swon to read to, but of course he make some mistakes that make me really mad at him. Christian was in the middle on the road if I may expressed myself this way ,from the one side was he's friend Lorenzo and more important the head of the Beretta Family, and from the other Sofia the woman he definitely love, but was afraid to admit it to himself.
I will not say anything more ,because their book need to be readed, and the books after these to,because Abigail Davies books are worthy to read!
★★★. I thought this was a good read. I liked the brothers best friend forbidden mafia romance aspect of this. I was expecting more angst because right in prologue they are together up until like mid-way when she gives a ridiculous ultimatum. I understood her not wanting to be a secret, but does she realize Lorenzo is the boss and he could’ve killed Christian?
The sexual assault was very graphic and I didn’t see any trigger warnings. I liked how she got revenge in the end. I do wish we saw more of her recovery because one minute she’s locking herself in the room and the next she’s sleeping with Christian.
I felt the ending left it open for them two and where was Aida in this? Lorenzo seemed like he didn’t even like her in this one compared to his and Mateo’s. Luna was kidnapped and then found but that’s it?
The story was all over and I’m only giving three stars because Abigail’s writing is very good and the plots are strong but it’s messy.
“I’m not letting you go,” I told her. “Whether it takes an hour, a month, a year, or a decade.” I continued forward, only stopping when I was inches away from her again. “I’ll still be here, waiting for you.”
This is book 3 set in Abigail Davies Unseen Underground series and although you can read on its own I highly recommend reading this whole series in order. So Christian is bestfriends with new Mafia Boss Lorenzo but for as long as he can remember he's watched Lorenzos sister Sofia from afar.. when a chance encounter brings these 2 together it's not all plain sailing even though the chemistry is off the charts between them. When Christian messes up it changes everything between the pair but will the damage be able to be fixed? Absolutely loved these guys together.. the struggle with emotions and feelings keeps you guessing and hooked into the drama desperate to know what will happen for them. Darkness.. hard to read moments.. crossing boundaries.. love.. lust and friendships this book had it all! Abigail is back and ready to wow us all with her words!
I just love love LOVE a bit of mafia romance and this didnt disappoint. I Christian gallo. Lorenzos right hand man his best friend his brother from another mother. Stepped over the one line you should never cross. Sleeping with your best friends sister. But what started as a kiss rolled into so much more. Sofia wanted a normal life. Something she could never have been the sister of a mafia boss. So when she falls for Christian she hopes he would choose her. But it's not that simple in the world of mafia. I loved this story as always but I do wish there had been a few more scenes to explain things in a bit more detail. I'm all for the extra words.
Foreword PR is thrilled to be working with Abigail Davies with her release of Christian Gallo! Christian Gallo is book three in her intoxicating Unseen Underground standalone series. A forbidden, best friend’s little sister, addictive, angst filled, mafia romance that will have you turning the pages non-stop! Visit here to find out how you can read early: Christian Gallo
Sophia made some pretty TSTL decisions for someone that has grown up in a Mafia family……. I’m not sure why she thought it would be so easy for Christian to admit to his best friend/boss what had been happening between them. And also, why she was so trusting of a new person in her life was beyond me.
SPOILER………..
I’m not usually a reader of darker romance so I appreciate that I’m probably the wrong audience here. I’d gotten an alert from Amazon about this release as I’d read(and loved) this author’s lighter reads and thought that I’d have a look at her darker side. However, the gang r&pe on page was too much for me and I dnf’d. Again, I recognise this may not be an issue for others but for me, no thanks.
Although it's not a must, I would recommend reading the previous books in this series. It will give you the full picture as well as give you glimpses of Sofia and Christian, her brother is the main mafia boss and he won't be happy when he finds out....
This can be a tough read at times, there's a heartbreaking scene and it was just awful 😭! I like the characters, I do think it was a bit over the place with regards to their enemies as well as rushed after what happened to Sofia. HOWEVER, I still enjoyed it and I still recommend!
Christian Gallo is the first book I have read by this author. It is a Brothers Best friend Mafia Romance. Sofia is off limits to Christian because she is his best friends little sister but they are both unable to fight the attraction to each other. When the unimaginable happens to Sofia, Christian will do whatever it takes to protect her. Christian and Sofia's journey was angsty, intense and full of undeniable chemistry!
Christian Gallo is Lorenzo Beretta’s Underboss. A secret relationship with Lorenzo’s little sister won’t go down well with the boss. Sofia Beretta is the little sister, living in the shadow of her family, she feels like a ghost who nobody see’s. Until Christian takes notice. A good story, following on from Mateo Caputo. This Mafia series ends in. Cliffhanger as did the previous book. Well I’m hooked so I will be moving onto Dante’s story next.
Christian Gallo (Unseen Underground #3) is intriguing and thrilling but also harrowing in places. The chemistry and heat between Christian and Sofia is undeniable, but as his best friend’s little sister, she’s forbidden. But he’s already crossed that line... I love this dark mafia series! The storyline’s and the characters are fantastic and I’m so excited to read Dante’s book next.
Definitely worth the wait, this is brothers best friend romance with mafia involved. Brilliant connection between the two characters. Sofia, is like the damsel in distress locked away in her house for no one to see. Christian has tried to fight his attraction but simply cannot.
I love this kind of trope with all the angst. Abigail really hit the spot with this story.
Watching a female take back herself is probably my favorite thing to read. The undertones in the story are everything. Its not just about love but so much more. Excellent read, then ending was slightly rushed but it did not take away from the story, overall a great read.
Loved the first book Lorenzo but this book I have no words. Sofia was such a strong person and I’m really glad she managed to get revenge just wish they had been tortured and had slow deaths. So glad Christian and Sofia got there happy ever after and looking forward to Dante book now. 🥰 loved it.
This book was bollocks. Characters built up in previous books just faded away in this. After Lorenzo's and Aisa's capture, Lorenzo was over the top protective. Yet his sister doesn't come home for a week, and he does nothing. His mother does nothing and Aida appears to have dropped off the edge of the earth.

I love the Mafia drama and I'm loving this series but I couldn't connect with Sofia. I liked her in the past books and I was really looking forward to her and Christian's story but for some reason she didn't come across as I expected her to. The story was good and of course I love the ending. Now I need Dante's story.
Lots of trigger warnings. An emotional ride that was just heart wrenching. I loved this couple though. He is an idiot who needs to grovel, grovel, grovel...no cheating though. And she is sometimes annoying but strong while mentally a mess...they just work to create a great story. Can't wait to read Dante.
I read the first and second book and can't wait to read Sofia and Christian book but I can't find the book anywhere so please Miss Abigail can you tell us if you're planning on releasing this book soon ?? and thank you
I love this series. I have been waiting since the first book for Christian and Sophia’s story. It did not disappoint. I like how the female characters are vulnerable but really start to recognize and own their strength as the book progresses.
This story was a heartbreaker but also a great show of strength, resilience, and love. We don't know much about Sofia but we get to know her and how strong and great she is. Christian was great, despite his stupidity at times lol. Great storyline with lots of drama!!
Once I started, I couldn’t stop until I finished Christian & Sofia’s story. Christian & Sofia had great chemistry and banter. A mafia romance with all the feelings.
I am enjoying this series and I look forward to more by Abigail Davies in the future.
