This book is full of even wackier shenanigans that I didn't think could be possible! I really enjoyed the crazy adventures these four main villagers are having.
Miigweetch NetGalley and VIZ Media for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
This is a comic based on the popular Nintendo game of the same name. I did not read the previous two volumes, and might have benefited from doing so. Nevertheless, the story wasn’t too complicated and I was able to enjoy the ride. The lettering is lovely and the panels of the comic flow. The line work is clean and the gags are clear. Visually, this comic works very well.
I recommend this book to teenage readers who are already fans of the Animal Crossing franchise. A big part of the fun in this book are the “cameos” of beloved characters, particularly those whose appearance is tied to a seasonal event. The art and story is geared toward a younger audience and although I love playing the game, I was less enamored with this manga.
This was really fun! I read the first book in the series and didn't enjoy as much as I thought I would, skipped the second, read this one and was not disappointed. Perhaps since I haven't been as much into Animal Crossing the game as much, perhaps because I let go of my expectations of what this comic is supposed to be like, regardless, I enjoyed this quick zaney read. We know a bit more about the main characters (the four friends), and they added in a few more animal characters to the island. There is definitely no overarching story, however, the little vignettes make this easy to pick up any volume regardless of if you have read the previous ones or not. My favorite was Labelle taking fashion notes, though Tom Nook fantasizing about K.K. Slider during the talent show is a close second.
I accessed a digital copy of this book through NetGalley from the publisher, thank you for an early copy!
As a HUGE fan of the Animal Crossing franchise, I was so jazzed to see that this series was being published. I figured I could jump into volume three without reading the first two volumes. I definitely could, but I still wouldn't recommend. I am guessing that I am missing something because it was translated into English - plus I know that there are other Animal Crossing franchise things in Japan (I know there's a movie), and it is not portrayed like the game. It isn't very funny and didn't feel "on brand."
This manga was so hilariously cute! The ongoing jokes and quick telling of mini stories made this such a light and easy read. The art was so cute and quirky, i found myself giggling at the faces alone. I haven’t had the chance to read the first two volumes, but even as a standalone, this was such a delight to read through. Any fan of animal crossing (which I definitely am) would enjoy this!! I highly recommend adding this to your collection.
Some more of the newer gameplay features are present in this volume and while the content isn't exactly a tutorial, for a new player, they might help... a little.
And in this chaotic volume we have: Label, Mabel, and Sable to kickstart the fashion scene; a glimpse of the fabulous K.K. Slider; snow time with Snowboy; New Years nonsense; chillin' with Harv; lucid dreams with Luna; DIY drama; three new villagers; and finally naming this disaster island.
This is the third instalment to the Animal Crossing tie-in manga. This is the only manga I’ve read so don’t have much to compare it too.
As with the first two books they are a fun and cutesy addition to the games for ahh big fans. I do think they are better suited to a younger audience, especially as new manga readers.
Made up of several mini stories rather than one continuous long one, it’s a fun and quirky book to speed through.
More characters and more hilarious shenanigans for our residents! We get to meet Label, the fashion designer looking for the freshest new look for the fall. Will KK slider ever come and perform his fabulous songs for the island? The residents learn how to make the perfect snow boy. Harvey (call him Harv) and his island is the perfect spot to take awesome pictures. Dreams with Alina is a great escape to other islands. Thanks to Zucker, we may now have a name for our island….

Ah, so much fun! All those events that I remember from Animal Crossing. Making the perfect snowboy (which was annoying but also fun), trying to get K.K. Slider to your island (though for me it was a mostly boring affair, I would have loved to hold a battle of the bands), Label doing her thing, and more. It was just oodles of fun and I laughed so much. It also made me want to pick up the game again. Maybe soon!
We sped through fall and winter in this volume! It’s cute and very over the top so don’t start reading this series, thinking it will be serious. It’s for fun!!!
I love seeing the author’s notes about her playing New Horizons. It’s too cute!
This was my first time reading manga. It was a quick read for me as mostly pictures. The stories are light hearted and not plot heavy. I was surprised at how many times I laughed out loud even. It was a cute read I’m glad I tried out! I would read the rest of the series as well.
I liked this manga I have read the 1st and 2nd vol and I really like those that’s why I got the 3rd vol I thought it was funny when they had to chose a name for the island 🏝️ and I loved the part when Luna was showing them different islands xx 🎀🎀🎀

This series blew my expectations away. It’s funny and engaged me really well, each volume so far I’ve read in 1 sitting and loved them. This series is definitely a great way that I can take a break with a more lighthearted read!
I haven't even touched the game for a few months now, but this manga series still makes me so happy, absolutely recommend to anyone who loves the games.
