Hunter Rose is a Contemporary Romance author who found his love for literature at an early age. Reading everything from Edgar Allen Poe to Nora Roberts, Hunter's love for reading quickly turned into a passion for writing. After writing in a few genres, Hunter became intrigued by Contemporary Romance being the hopeless romantic that he is.
When he is not writing, Hunter finds inspiration through travelling across the world and meeting new people. Although he enjoys spending time with others, Hunter also appreciates some alone time displaying his creativity in his carpentry workshop with a glass of aged Whisky on the rocks.
This is an extra scene from Hunter Rose’s book “Coached”. It takes place after Darren and Serena spend their first night together, still under the false title of ‘teacher’ and ‘student’.
If you recall, Serena has always had a crush on her brother Lance’s, best friend, Darren. Serena and Darren end up at the same college and Serena, not having any experience with the opposite sex, asks Darren to tutor her in the art of love. At first, he balks at the idea, and rather than letting somebody else take on this job, he decides to bite the bullet and play the game.
There are some funny lines in this short story, mostly Darren’s where he is talking to himself and questioning his feelings toward Serena and the role he is playing in her life. “I don’t do girlfriends. I do girls.” “Are we dating? No, I don’t date. Never have.” But he neglects to add that he never will.
Serena’s thoughts are more melodic. She feels the “rush of helplessness like a floundering ship in the shallows”, and referring to him as her “pillar on this earth . . . leaving her swimming in a pool of nothing and everything.”
Both Serena and Darren examine their feelings, but each in a different way. Serena seems to be resigned and accepting of them whereas, Darren is bewildered by them.
It is a well-written section to an already excellent book. Again the author was able to write a very provocative scene in this excerpt that was steamy and hot. He builds his characters by showing us their nature and temperament. I enjoyed this fast read giving us another look into the hearts of Darren and Serena.
Okay. First of all, you need to read Coached prior to this story. This is an extra scene and compliments the main story. It is the scene of the morning after Serena and Darren make love. This extra blurb describes more of both characters' feelings. I enjoy this couple. It is a feel-good story that will make you feel love. Not to be read first but after. Enjoy!
Growing up together can have major advantages or disadvantages. When feelings start to become more than friends then truly knowing the other person can help a relationship to grow. Will it survive outside negativity?
Can't get enough 😍 OK so, Serena and Darren are the sweetest couple I have read, can't get enough, they are just so cute together 🥰 I wish there were a little novella after Coached to peak into their future ❤️
A guy struggles to cope with feelings after sleeping with his best friends sister, This novel gives you a taste of where this love story may or may not go. Love the characters, but would rather this was a standalone novel than a cliff hanger.
Not sure what to make of this...it is virtually the morning after scenario in regards to a snapshot of the future for Darren and Serena. Apart from them saying they are dating and being a couple it does not offer much else.
Darren and Serena!!!! I really love read a little bit more of them! I miss this parts in the main book “Coached” but I’m thankful that Hunter share this with us! ❤️ Darren is wonderful and Serena is super cute 🥰 love their relationship. From friends to lovers ❤️
First Play. This is an extension of the story Coached. We get a closer look at what happens the morning after Serena and Darren engage in teacher/student lessons about sex. A good read. ***I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. * * *
I liked that it was written from a male and female prospective. I would recommend it to any romance reader. I gave it 4-stars, because it was a good story.
