Totally right can sometimes masquerade as totally wrong.

Dominique Bergeron likes to play it safe. Working construction, she’s become quite good at putting up walls, including the ones around her heart. When her best friend invites her on a trip to Belize, it’s a chance to relax and figure out what her next step in life will be.

But then she meets Jesse Weber—the gorgeous yet arrogant jerk that steals her book, her common sense, but will also be sharing her private villa. That’s when she knows she has a problem.

Jesse Weber needs a break from the daily grind, his clingy ex and his countless other issues. So when opportunity strikes, he jumps at the chance to escape and soak up some Belize sun.

But when he meets Dominique Bergeron—a tiny girl with a massive chip on her shoulder—he worries a free trip might cost him more than he’d like.

When their bickering becomes heated chemistry, a trip of a lifetime turns into a chance to indulge in their desires and let go of all reservations.

With Reservations is the first part of the With or Without You duet.

I loved this book, I love forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine and slow burn and this was all 3 rolled into one delicious package.
I love how at first Dominique regards sexy, muscular, man bun, tattooed perfection Jesse with annoyance and intrigue until she finally gives in to him!
I love how it's dual perspective story telling and we get to see how both characters perceived moments together, it satisfied my naturally nosy nature! I loved the steam too, the slow burn was a great builder and the wait for the romance scenes really paid off.
The holiday setting sounded so dreamy I wish I had been there, I can't wait for part two!!!

With Reservations is the first book of the With or Without You duet. The book focuses on Dominique, often referred to as Dom who works in construction, and Jesse, who works for a pharmaceutical company. Now enter Sebastian and his fiancée, Tyler who are traveling to Belize and each bringing their best friend along, Jesse and Dom. They start off on the wrong foot...a chance meeting in the airport convenience store, before realizing they will be traveling companions to their engaged friends. There is a significant amount of flirtatious, sarcastic banter between them that is fun, and it is obvious there is some sexual tension between them building throughout the book, until it is eventually released. There are cute little romantic moments mixed in with the steamy scenes. I especially liked the little “scuffle” with flirting after the surfing moment, and I very much enjoyed the nod to Forrest Gump, with a specific line towards the ending of the book.

This is a good enemies to lovers indie romance that is also a very slow burn. The book does jump back and forth from either Jesse or Dom’s point of view. I have read many books written this way, and quite enjoy that style. However, I lost interest in following some chapters when the exact same scene is written back to back just switching point of views, and this happens pretty often. That is purely my personal preference, and for other readers, they might enjoy that aspect. Now with all of that being said, this is something that I pushed through because all of the other chapters that flowed differently were quite enjoyable and I didn’t feel lost in following through. All in all, I did enjoy the book, and I am eager to read the next book to follow.

Thank you so much to Mimi Flood and StoryOrigin for the eARC of With Reservations in exchange for an honest review!

This was my 1st read for Mimi and it was a perfect starter into her sweet and steamy contemporary romance writing. I absolutely loved the creativity of her writing. She wrote in 2 POVs, male and female but not only that when there was a scene that you wish you knew what the other character was thinking, she changed POVs and let you know.
My favorite part of this story was all the bickering, banter, hot/cold and love hate relationship that Jesse and Dom had. But man did they have major chemistry. As soon as I finished I immediately had to research if there was a second book as I needed to know what was going to happen next.
“Don’t even try to deny it. Now, we can be total idiots about this and say we're wrong for each other, and imagine all the horrible ways it could end in catastrophe. Or we can have a little fun and forget all those pesky maybes and just enjoy each other's company.”
What will they do?

I love how this book brought me to a different place. The setting and plot were perfect; who wouldn't want to be in paradise, in your own personal villa, with a gorgeous man!

The dynamic between the two main characters, Dom & Jesse, was passionate and fiery. It ultimately had me cheering for them every step of the way but love can be a tricky slope.

I really hope a Part 2 will be out soon to see where this love affair leads too....

With Reservations was such a fun and swoony read! This is the perfect romance if you've been dreaming of a getaway lately. I loved the tropical setting, and the banter, tension, and eventual love between the main characters had me turning the pages as fast I could. A highly recommended read from Mimi!

Dom and Jesse are tagalongs on a trip their mutual best friends won to Belize. A tropical retreat in the middle of Montreal winter...sign me up. However, the two meet in the airport before the group meets collectively and the impression left is memorable to say the least. While Dom and Jesse spend a week deciding to go from enemies to lovers, both of their pasts seem to keep making appearances and getting in the way. After the vacation is over will these two be able to pretend nothing happened? Will they be able to be friends? Will they get their heads out of their backsides and realize that it's more than just a vacation fling.
I loved the banter between Dom and Jesse throughout their vacation. Then there's one friend saying no, and one friend saying go, so they're allowing everyone else but themselves determine whether or not they should or shouldn't. Dom's insecurities from her previous relationship is heavily influencing her decisions with Jesse, but throughout all her manic ramblings he's still 100% into her.

The character were insufferable and also my biggest problem was that the book had dual pov and in the majority of the chapters we had so many repetitions of the things that had just happened, so basically we read the same scenes from both povs with literally the same dialogues and all, and it was so annoying and unnecessary that I couldn’t get past it

I flew through this book because I just could not put it down!! Mimi Flood has written an amazing story here with some of my favorite tropes- enemies (to friends) to lovers and forced proximity. I loved the angst and the heartache between Dominique and Jesse. The setting of a private island vacation home in Belize was perfect for this story.

The way Jesse is described, bearded with a man bun and tattoos, made me swoon. Especially because he is also so caring. Dominique comes off as tough and independent and doesn't want to fall for Jesse. She pushes him away every chance she gets... until she no longer can. I cannot wait for Part 2 of this series to see what happens with these two!

4.5 stars rounded to 5!

Dom is a complex female. The kind I'd worn my single male friends away from because of her sparky temper. I usually label someone like Dom as too much of a pain in the ass, but following how Jesse viewed her made it more than palatable. It made me keep turning the pages far too late into the evening when I was supposed to be sleeping. And I found myself rooting for them to make things work. It's a novel full of ups and downs and with the setting being in Belize, it kept it adventurous, cheery, and romantic. I enjoyed the story the whole way through and at the end, it left me needing to read novel 2. Thank goodness I already have my hands on it! -I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

I really enjoyed reading this enemies to lovers slow burn romance. I loved the dual POV, and getting to see inside both Dominque and Jessie’s heads and see where they were at. I enjoyed watching them get to know each other and struggle with their attraction while on vacation with their best friends. Personally, I didn’t always enjoy the way they both failed to communicate why they were really feeling at times, but that brought the drama and edge to the storyline, and caused the shift in their relationship. It just was a bit frustrating to watch them say these feelings to themselves and then say the opposite thing to each other. But, at the end of the day, I understand that was the point of the book, and I did really enjoy the journey these two went on.

With Reservations is a forced proximity enemies to lovers romance for the ages!

Dom works in construction and is used to men trying to walk all over her, so she gives it as good as she gets.

Jesse works...and works...and works. But he’s working towards his dream and not everybody knows that.

When they get to go on a dream vacation with their best friends to Belize it forces them to be around each other and the chemistry is off the charts!

I loved being able to see both POVs and how much bickering there was. Grab your copy for the chance to see all the bickering and how the story ends!

I would just like to say a big thank you to the author , Mimi Flood, who very kindly forwarded me a copy of this book, for my kindle, in return for an honest review.
With Reservations is the first book of the With Or Without You series of books.
This book was a slow burn, steamy, enemies to lovers, contemporary romance and is written from the alternating points of view of either Jesse or Dom.
I loved how the two main characters, Jesse and Dom had amazing chemistry but there was also continuous banter between them too!
I cannot wait to read book two so that I can see how the story continues.....

I really enjoyed this story between Dominique and Jesse. While headed to Belize for a vacation with their respective best friends, these two opposites meet in the airport and clash instantly. The chemistry between the two of them is the cause for most of their disagreements. Because of this, the buildup to the inevitable is very hot! The steam is high and the location is amazing!! It made me long so much for an island getaway. I’m already anxiously awaiting the next book of the series!

I went into this book blind. Not even reading the blurb. But I'm so so happy i came across this author on ig and applied for an ARC for part 2 of this series. Of course I had to read part 1. I bloody loved it. Jesse has my heart. He's beautiful. I can't help but feel attached to Dom. They're both a bit broken. I actually wanted to hurt Marsha. I really didn't like her. Tyler and Seb made me lol.

This book was sooo good!! It caught my attention from the beginning and kept it until the very end. I honestly didn't really want to put it down, but sadly I had to, so I tried to get back to it as soon as I could, and quickly finished it. I adored everything about it from the characters, to the plot, to the ending. This is definitely one of my favorite reads of the year, and I would definitely recommend reading it. :)

I really disliked how much plot overlap was happening with the dual POVs. I enjoy reading things from the other perspective, but only if it's beneficial to the storyline. The FMC was honestly just a b*tch the whole book so I'm really confused how she got the love interest to fall in love with her. I was planning on giving this 3 stars but then realized that there is a second book? 😳 Why?? This story could easily be wrapped up in one book. Loss of one star because of the dumb ending.

A fun and flirty slow-burn! Coming off of 2020, I have been dying for a vacation and this was just the steamy, island fun that I needed. Super cute couple Dom and Jesse are everything you want in an enemies-to-lovers romance. Their banter is both sexually charged and hilarious and the stunning descriptions of Belize, spoke to my travel-hungry heart! A perfect escape, can't wait for book 2!

Super sweet, light read. The perfect enemies to lovers rom-com. All the banter, the tension, the meddling friends - it was a nice break from the world right now.
This book is told from dual POVs which means there is a lot of cross-over and repetition with the conversations, but you also get to know what was going through each characters mind while the scene was happening!

Thank you to the author for my free copy!

I really liked this story. Dom and Jesse are fun characters, both have strong personalities with softer sides. The vacation setting was perfect for this combo of angst, desire, and eventual steam. I only wish these two communicated a little better but we know why that is. Definitely need to read book 2 asap!!

Hilarious, steamy read. Their chemistry is off the charts. I enjoyed their banter and the different POVs that the author provides. I love when I can hear both sides of the story. This book captured my attention from the start. I can’t wait for book 2!!

Enemies to lovers.
I really like both POV but there was so much overlapping in this. Instead of a second book, one would have been great without the overlap.

I don't like to give independent authors (or ANY author, really) a bad review, but I really did not like this writing. It's full of silly details that are not important and just act to make the book far longer than it needs to me. Mostly, it frustrated me to no end how many times the characters changed moods or sentiment. One moment we have Dom moody, bitchy and mean. The next she's giggling and flirty. The main characters go back and forth and back again between fake disdain and full out sex. I never could figure out what motivated either extreme and it grew tiresome. Dom comes across as immature and Jesse... well, I'm not sure what to think about Jesse. Are we supposed to think he's a man whore? Or a damaged player who just came off trying a committed relationship? Or is he a push-over?? They all might fit but we're left hanging. The author does nothing to support the reader with characters development or back story. I learned at the end (on the author's book list) that there is a prequel to this book. My guess is that this is a mandatory first read because otherwise you have absolutely NO idea why either one of these characters are such a mess. Honestly, it's draining to read--so puzzling--and gave me considerable whiplash with how quickly and inexplicably they went from hot to cold to hot and then cold again. OVER AND OVER. It's all this book really is and then we are left hanging unless we read the next in the series. No thanks. I'm going to cut my losses right now.

No reservations here!

Have you ever met someone that just brings out the worst in you, but you still can't fight the insane attraction you feel for them? Yah, Jesse and Dominique have! EACH OTHER.

Dominique (Dom to her friends) has issues--but so does Jesse, the HOT (and I do mean HOT) pharmaceutical rep who just needs to get away from his overbearing ex! When these two meet, it certainly is NOT love at first sight, but the attraction between them is bright as day and an underlying smoldering heat that stretches throughout the story.

With Reservations is the kind of book you take with you to the beach and finish in one day. The writing is tight and descriptive. It brings you right there to Belize and makes you LONG for the warmth of the summer sun and a hot tussle between the sheets.

Sexy, smart and REAL. With Reservations is a great way to start off your summer TBR list!

I really enjoyed this. The initial interactions of the main characters leaving them not quite enemies but definitely not friendly definitely leant to the angst while they were trying to fight their attraction to each other. There was a lot of miscommunication or no communication between a lot of the characters which lead to mishaps for sure. The magnetic pull between Dominic and Jesse was very clear and when it felt like they really wouldn't figure it out you definitely feel for them. I'm definitely interested in continuing on with their story.

Dominique and Jesse have a push/pull relationship in the beginning with lots of bickering and moments that had me laughing... even when they finally gave in to attraction, these two wanted to fight the feelings they were developing. Got to say it was almost torment for me as I waited for them to wake up and give themselves a true chance! Time for book 2 to see how they fare now that they gave love a shot.

Mimi Mimi what are you doing to me?

This is what a Part 1 of a book is supposed to look like! It supposed to give you hope and fill you with anticipation for the happy ever after to come!

First, I have to say the setting was exactly what my mind was needing in this -10F Minnesota weather: A week of vacation in a secluded island in Belize with my best friends? Sign me up!

I want a bff like Dominique! She was a real queen, a beautiful queen that had so much going on and was so deserving of that break! I loved how she didn’t take shit from anyone and how sure she was about who she was despite her painful experiences. She was the sweetest and most supportive person to everyone around her. I loved how she was able to get out of her shell and give love a chance despite her past and the walla she built up.

Jesse was charming, flirty and sooo caring and protective! He paid so much attention to Dominique and noticed so much and it made me swoon how deep he let himself get captivated by her. Behind that arrogant facade, there was a smart, vulnerable and sensitive man with a gigantic capacity to love hard.

After a not so cute meet-cute, the set up in the island was the perfect environment for them to get closer and get to know each other. They had many intimate moments where they allowed themselves to be vulnerable and open up to each other in a deeper level, this made the physical attraction even harder to resist since the emotional attachment started without them even noticing. They found out they complemented each other more than they thought initially and I never had a doubt that they were good for each other in every way even if it seemed otherwise in the surface and I love how they wanted to work hard to make it all work despite the burdens and obstacles.

The emotions, the flirting and banter were so sweet, funny and sexy it built up the tension so perfectly and the results were absolutely H O T super romantic!

Part 2 can’t come soon enough! Jesse and Dominique are such a beautiful and explosive couple and they deserve to be together forever!

Thank you, Mimi for gifting me this ARC copy!
