I absolutely loved this book. The story was the perfect blend of mystery, suspense, and romance. I did have a hard time getting past all of the errors. There were so many that it became distracting from the book itself. I also had a hard time with everything being written out without ever using contractions. Occasionally would be fine but the way it was written seemed so unnatural for dialogue and after I while it really irked me. The two small issues aside, I still loved this story and am looking forward to continuing the series.

So I’m not 100% on slang because I’m too old now but I’m side eying the use of “fancy boy” as a synonym for potentially gay man.

The story was entertaining but I really think a better choice could have been made.

This was a REALLY slow starter. Like 50% in before the plot really got started. Also, almost so the characters are whiny and insufferable. The mother is literally THE WORST.
