For Freshman Orientation/Study Skills courses. Also appropriate as a supplemental text for courses in Educational Psychology. A book that finally tells students exactly what to do when they study! This text presents the SOAR study model, allowing them to soar to success. Sound practical advice is given for selecting information (S), organizing information (O), associating information (A), and regulating learning (R), all in a clear and entertaining manner.
This is a great book on study skills that is geared towards college students, particularly first years, but could also really help high school students. There were some very good suggestions I had not thought of that I will try to use with the high school student I tutor when classes resume next month.
