All that you could ever want rolled into a tightly wrapped, well written novella. Highly entertaining and a great prequel to the boxset of amazing authors to come. I can't hardly wait for more of this Mafia romance start.

Great start to a new series!! It began kind of slow, but once we got going the story took off. I love a man that doesn’t take shit and has no problem telling a motherfucker what to do. I’m excited to continue this series!!

This was a short quick read that I liked. This is a prequel to the Savage Bloodline a Mafia romance series. Enzo is on A mission to find the person who killed his grandfather. His grandfather was the head of the family the Don and someone in the family killed him. This was a really good start to a new series too me. Enzo is out for blood. They find out that there was a witness who helped his grandfather only he didn't realize it was a woman. This was a pretty good start to what I am hoping is going to be a good series. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

As the prequel to the bloodline series, this book sets the stage for drama, outrage, and adventure as family ties are tested and loyalty is questioned. I was literally hanging on to every word as I read it, eager to see what happened next. I rooted for Enzo to get to the heart of the matter, and it left me wondering who caused the rise of the new don to occur. Enzo is passionate, dangerous, and hot. All the makings of a great alpha and the start of what promises to be an exciting new series. When you're done, you'll be ready for it to play out on the big screen next.

Hot cover, great lead-in for first book in this series!
This is a short prequel (8 chapters, 79 pages) to a new series about the men in the DeLuca Famiglia. The actual first book, Savage Bloodline will be out in March. I pre-ordered Savage Bloodline (only 99¢) and the prequel was free.
I have to admit, it was the covers (same on both books) that sold me without even reading the synopsis. Why? Because that is Leonel (Leo) Ledesma and I am obsessed with that man. He was the muse for another series I read and his pictures are always being shared in that author's Facebook group. If you check out Leo's Instagram (planetleonel) and scroll through his pics, you'll come across other pictures similar to this one from his "return of the gangster" photo shoot. (Much better than this cover which has been edited to look more like a drawing.) If you like man eye-candy...check him out. He's definitely sweet on the eyes and what a bod!
This prequel is basically about how Enzo (short for Lorenzo) DeLuca becomes Don. It's surprisingly good, especially for a short story. I say surprisingly because I've never read this author before so didn't know what to expect. It's well written and has it's sad, emotional moments as well as the brutal and violent moments. This tells me I'm getting a true mafia romance with all the danger, blood and gore of the mafia and not one of those where the hero just happens to be in the mafia, but there's no mafia activity. That's why I read mafia romances...I like my romances with excitement and a story that's more than just the romance. I want intrigue, mystery and danger too!
This prequel gives you all that and sets the stage for the next book which will be Enzo and Eve's story. We met Eve at the end of this prequel and get some background information about her that tells us she's a kind and caring person, but there is a mystery about her. She may be running or hiding from something or someone. This prequel also gives you great insight into Enzo....his innermost thoughts and feelings, what drives him and makes him tick. We get to see the controlled, brutal savage side as well as the softer, loving side and even the cocky, swaggering side. It also sets the stage for a new, yet unknown, protagonist and a some mysteries to be solved. Definitely looking forward to the release of Book one!

Set up for the Savage Bloodline
boxset. You get a feel for some of the characters, but since so many different authors are included in the volume unsure if that impression will carry over, the farther you go. Don't know how to rate because it's just a prequel. Would normally give 2 stars because of cliffhanger. Because there was definitely truth in advertising, can't ding for it being a teaser.

This brand-new series is full of suspense and drama. The characters were fantastic. The story kept you on the set of your pants the entire time. This was just a prelude to what was to come. We can tell already it is going to be an awesome series. We enjoyed getting to know these dark and dangerous characters.

Enzo's grandfather and the Don of the family has been killed, and now he's promised to find the person responsible and avenge him. He manages to find a witness, the problem being she doesn't remember much of what happened.
This is a promising start to a good series. Enzo is the stereotypical mafia man and I enjoyed that. He didn't hurt Eve and didn't want any one else to do so either, so I respected the authors choice in keeping him a respectable man.
The story is very repetitive. The beginning was just Enzo saying repeating in different ways that he would kill the person responsible for his grandfathers death. Throughout the story I seen several places where the author became repetitive in their momologues and that was an annoyance to read.

I believe this is going to be a good series. Although this is the prequel to the beginning I look forward to reading more. This prequel was good until the end and Inwant to know more and who's the traitor.

Don Eemanno DeLucas was murdered in cold blood and his grandson Enzo set out to avenge his death before he took over as Don for the family. When he found the man who killed his grandfather he told Enzo he was hired by someone in the DeLucas family who wanted the Don dead.
Enzo will now make it his mission to find out who out the hit out on his grandfather.
There were dark days ahead for the DeLucas, Some would survive, Many wouldn't. But one thing was for certain, the person or person's who'd betrayed them would soon wish they were never born.
Cannot wait to read the box set which is full of stories by various authors who will write about the Alpha males in this Mafia family.

Tense action, i can not only feel the blood on my hands but can taste it with every ounce of nail biting piece of aggression flowing from the pages! Can not wait to see where this is all head in further novels. "Rise of the Don" should be the title to this one. The whole novel is perfectly executed! Maybe i should watch what i say in case i am next on the "Don`s hit list! Yikes!

This a amazing start of a series. I enjoyed this book because it's easy-to-read also its such a entertaining page turner that draws you into a realistic unpredictable story that's witty and filled with wonderful characters. I really enjoyed the POVs and how they let you inside their heads it makes me feel the characters as well. I enjoyed how these characters push and the vengeance between them and the fire that's burns under their skin. It's fast paced and had me panting for more. This story walked the line between that of being dark but also intriguing. I think my favorite part was Enzo's banter and how I could never guess what was going to happen next. Even though it's still a drama and violent ride. The life of this story allows us to embrace every day between their enemies and for them to know the savagery of the family. There are also deeper topics like dealing with loss, uncovering your roots, and charting a future out of uncertainty. But I must tell you that I am mildly obsessed with the cover and I can’t wait for the next book in this awesome series! This brilliant debut for a series that was great to read. This is a awesome way to start the series !!!

I was glued to my seat from beginning to end. This story has me looking forward to seeing what happens to Enzo and his family collection. Already Enzo is my future husband. I wanted to read more. March 15, 2022, needs to hurry up!!!

Right away this prequel gives you just a taste of what this series is going to be like. M'Renee Allen has set the stage for what I'm sure will be one of the best series written. But I was super excited to see that the new "Don" has met his forever mate. But I also see it won't be so easy capturing her heart. Yes, this series is gonna be exciting to read. Enzo is no longer in training as his grandfather, mentor, and friend was gunned down. This broke his heart but he had to hold it together to avenge Don Armanno DeLuca's murder, and he did. His life is now the DeLuca Famiglia. He's now expected to do things he's not ready to do, but the family comes first. This season's series is going to be interesting.
In this prequel, we see Lorenzo DeLuca go from the trainee to the don with changes in his personality coming with his induction ceremony. We get to see the inner workings of the ceremony and the mental transformation Enzo had when he went through it.
