'King's Possession' is Piper Stone's third book in her "Merciless Kings" series and I think this one took me more by surprise than 'King's Captive' and 'King's Hostage' did. This storyline is filled with action, adventure, angst, betrayal, murder, kidnapping, self-discovery, and love. Genevieve has known her entire life that her father was disappointed with her. She should have been the son he was hoping for and to make matters worse, she was the only child her parents were to have. She knew there were rules she had to follow but she was sure that she would be able to follow her own path, at least where it came to her art, but even that didn't happen. Her father managed to take that away when he announced to her that she would be getting married in a matter of days. Lucian King was the Underboss of the King Empire. According to the family, he was the one who had no soul or emotion. He was strictly all about family and the business. Angelo Rossi, Genevieve's father, betrays an agreement he had made with Lucian. At the same time, Lucian finds out Angelo has promised his daughter to Lazaro Vitali, a rival. That's when Lucian plays his hand, demands Angelo not only make the King's part of the Diamond Dealer's Club but sign the contract giving him his daughter's hand in marriage or, of course, there would be consequences to Angelo's family. There is a plethora of emotions that ran through me as I read this story. Not only did it have the feels to go along with a romance but the chemistry, which neither wanted to admit to, was off the chain. I have proudly recommended this book and will continue to do so.

Totally Terrific Mafia book
This is another terrific Mafia book in this excellent series by Piper Stone and I enjoyed it tremendously as you will if you like a good Mafia book that has spankings in it. There is a excellent HEA and a lot of action before you get to the end. This is such a satisfying book to read.

A dark mafia romance. Lucian essentially steals Genevieve from a rival mob family as his bride - forcing her father to promise her had in exchange for his leniency in other areas which he has fallen short with his responsibilities to Lucian and his family. Genevieve is, as to be expected, not at all thrilled with the notion of essentially being given over to Lucian to pay her fathers debt. She has lived her life knowing her father was disappointed that she was not a boy, and he was always disappointed in her choices, so she just sees this as another notch in the belt of her father’s poor treatment. Her only solace had been her art, making pottery, which even that her father ridiculed, belittled, and destroyed. But she won’t go quietly, and the give and take, the banter and chemistry between Lucian and Genevieve is great. Seeing Lucian open his eyes a bit, past his own expectations of this arranged marriage, and seeing him evolve and grow to truly care for her beyond the physical is really nice. In the end they come together as a powerful pair, and it’s a great evolution for each of them.
The narration by Thomas Locklear is excellent. He does a great job with Lucian’s alpha snarl, and even for Genevieve he captures both her vulnerability and strength so well.

What a fantastic read
In this book we have Lucien King and he is ruthless. He basically blackmails his way into Genevieve Rossi‘s life. Taking her as his wife and it’s all about power. He starting a war against the Vitali’s. He thought nothing could scare him. But that was until his wife life was put in danger. When they are on their honeymoon also a business meeting to find out information they came under attack and he knew then that he would do anything to protect her.
Genevieve was disgusted to find out that she was forced to marry this monster! it also Angered her that her father would give her up so easily she was just a pawn. when she found out that she was now the property of Lucien King she showed King that she wasn’t going to take this lying down, her sassy side came out for him and she learnt about punishment but she also learn something about herself. When they were on their honeymoon she saw a different side of Lucien even to the point of a romantic side and the scene where they were in the pottery shop was just mesmerising a scene out of the film ghost but now that he started this war would he be able to keep her safe??
Wow what a story I just could not put this book down there was something about Genevieve I light her sassy side and how she spoke her mind. I didn’t like the scene at the beginning I thought he was quite arrogant and dominant but I change my mind about him. Don’t get me wrong he is dominant he can be arrogant but for Genevieve he was something else. This book is so passionate and the chemistry is so hot I really good really.

This book of the series was okay - not as good as 1 and 2 but okay, well written and fluently narrated, however, there were a few moments when I could not follow the development. Perhaps it was due to the somewhat different, arranged starting position, not easy here to develop a credible change comprehensible. Maybe just a complementary book to show the background and connections more clearly, because under this aspect it fits perfectly with a complementary romance, unfortunately not the other way around. But good is okay and let's see what other members of the King family still have so up their sleeves 😉

So I enjoyed the first 2 books in this series, much more than I thought I would. So I was looking forward to this book since Lucian was made out to be the asshole brother, challenging his brother's dominance at every turn. Sadly, I felt this book a bit boring, there was nothing that stood out in the story line. I did not feel the chemistry between the MC was very credible and his fascination in the h felt unrealistic.

It has all the trappings of a mafia romance, lacks depth
This book was just okay for me. It has all the makings of a good book, but lacks excitement. There is little building of the characters personalities. It turned very sweet early into the story. I guess I expected more. I skimmed a lot of pages toward the end.

Book 3 in the merciless Kings series and this is Lucian King's story.
Just like his brother's Lucian is ruthless when it comes to protecting his family,being the Underboss he had to rule with an Iron fist.Anyone who crossed him would pay the price in blood.
So it is a surprise that Angelo Rossi betrayed their agreement for the King's to become members of the Diamond Dealers Club.Opting to go with a rival gang even betrothing his only daughter Genevieve to the son.
Lucian is Livid and blackmails and threatens Angelo to retract the deal and respect the deal he had originally made with the kings with one extra clause to the agreement.....Lucian would marry his daughter Genevieve.
Genevieve was a only child and was resented by her father for not being the son he had wanted...She wanted nothing to do with her fathers buisness,opting instead to throw herself into her Art.
She had plans for her future to pursue her talents and create,but that is shattered when her father tells her she is getting married straight away to Lucian King.
There would be NO defiance because if she didn't do it her whole family would perish.
Genevieve vows to hate Lucian this is not the life she wants and she would not comply to him or his demands.But that soon changes when she actually meets Lucian face to face and the magnetism between them has her bending to his every whim.
These two are hot and heavy pretty quickly and Lucian shows Genevieve desire and passion for the first time,she has a sexual awakening....and she soon opens up her heart to him.
Lucian finds himself feeling things he never has before his cold hard heart starts to soften when it comes to his new wife...A wife he didn't actually want but married to spite an enemy.
This book is filled with steamy times and an action packed plot that will leave you riveted.
I Listened to the Audiobooks version of these book and as always I was wowed by Thomas Lockclear's performance.
I swear to all that is holy Thomas can do no wrong in my eyes he is perfection....!!!
I LOVE listening to his voice and enjoy his great acting skills.
I have no idea how Piper Stone keeps coming up with such Amazing stories for us to enjoy,but she does everytime.
I really relished this book just like the previous books in this series,it was such an adventure and rollercoaster of emotions and anticipation.
Fantastic listen and fabulous book.

I really wanted to like this book because books one and two of this series were very good. Unfortunately for me this particular story lacked a strong story line and strong characters that this author provided in the first two books of this series. This author can script her anti-hero's over the top in her storylines as obsessive/revenge based characters. Lucian's character delivered that scenario with gusto with his "take no hostages attitude". I tried to connect with Lucian's character as the story progressed which is a must for me even with dark characters. There has to be some redeeming quality by the books' end for the darkest of characters. He does eventually shows some cracks in his veneer but it comes too late for me to like his character This storyline has been replicated so many times with the father getting into financial trouble and then being forced to sell his daughter into an arranged marriage vs., taking responsibility for his poor business sense. The father always sells out his daughter to save his own neck; thus the name "daddy dearest".
I have read enough of this genre to become picky and be honest as to what is entertaining and what isn't for me as a reader. Genevieve's character did not do it for me as Lucian's wife/pet/sexual conquest. I'm tired of heroines who are too consumed by the big "O" and whose friends think an arranged marriage is great " because their friends' future husband is sooooooo good looking. I need characters with depth and substance, not some 20 something Barbie Doll that is relying on her talents as an artist to support her. She is living at home depending on daddy and mommy dearest to support her even tough she has no formal training as a artist, no college or arts degree. It's almost comical when daddy dearest announces to her that she is getting married in a few days to a stranger and her big show of defiance is when she stomps her foot. Her character personifies the saying "deer in the headlights".
Some people will love this book and it's characters; especially those who like over the top alpha characters who make no excuses for their behavior because everything they do supposedly has a reason behind it, even if the characters or the readers are not privy to it. It's down and dirty out of the gate and will be enjoyed by those who like a deviant hero and a Barbie Doll heroine.

Little by little Genevieve begins to fall in love with her husband, but when the violence of the mafia world touches her, she doubts if she will able to live with the fear: fear of dying, fear of losing the people she loves...
The sexual attraction between these 2 is off the charts and Genevieve proves to be more than just a shy and innocent girl.
This book has everything: action, passion, love, revenge, betrayal...

A totally captivating third book in this simply breath-taking series
Genevieve had always known that her father had no time or interest in her, his dis appointment that his only child had been a daughter had been blindingly obvious and he had guarded her anonymity jealously seeing her as a bargaining chip.
Lucian King had decided that he was going to take her as his repayment, he was not going to allow her father to marry her off to a monster like the Vitali’s. She had been nothing like he expected she was wise and she could read him like no one ever had, she valued his honesty and did not shy from the horrors of their life and the discipline and killings that sometimes were required.
As they both realise that the unimaginable has happened and that the arrangement has become so very much more, Genevieve knows that that she has fallen in love with her husband and cannot envision a life or world without him in it. Lucian knew that he would protect his beautiful and talented wife with the very last breath in her body.
The King family is under attack and they are trying to discover who is behind the threats and attacks, who would have thought that they should have been looking closer to home.

Genevieve and Lucian's story begins when her father Angelo betrays an agreement he made with Lucian. So Lucian calls the debt in but this time he wants his daughter Genevieve as part of the deal along with entrance into the Diamond Dealer's Club. Angelo is angry because he promised his daughter to another crime family's son Lazaro Vitali and is afraid of the backlash if he doesn't get her. Genevieve realized that she was nothing but a possession to everyone that her life was never going to be her own. She won't go down without a fight. She wants to hate him yet as she spends time with him her heart begins to have other ideas. Their chemistry is undeniable, their connection is intense, it wasn't candlelight dinners and sweet strolls in the park it was dark,dirty, rough and no holds barred. Lucian is coldhearted, emotionally detached, brutal man yet you see glimpses of a human being especially when Genevieve is in danger. She brings out a different side of him. Their journey wasn't easy but nothing worth having comes easy.

This book brings us Lucian King and Genevieve Rossi. Genevieve Rossi has grown up very sheltered. Her life consists of her love of art, especially pottery. She spends hours and is quite content doing so, however, her parents don't understand why she does what she does. Her parents are not the nurturing kind. Lucian King has been betrayed by her father Angelo, and he comes to their home with a "marriage contract." Lucian wants to marry Genevieve and "break her." Genevieve, even though she has been sheltered, is her own person, and gives Lucian a hard time and talks back quite often. This should make him mad, but all it does it make him want her more. Genevieve is furious with both her parents that they could do something like this to her, but she has no other choice than to marry Lucian. The more time they spend together, their feelings towards each other change, and Lucian realizes he will do whatever it takes to keep Genevieve safe. They are elements of danger and intrigue that is not to be missed. This was a great read and I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

I absolutely love the Merciless Kings series. King’s Possession had me hooked from the beginning. This is the story of Lucian and Genevieve. Lucian is the underboss in the King family. He is dark, dangerous and sexy. Genevieve is a sweet, sheltered, but observant woman who can be feisty when she wants. Lucian believed himself to be immune from being able to fully care for someone (like his brothers thought!), but Genevieve was able to break him while he was breaking her. Lucian and Genevieve were put together through an arranged marriage and Genevieve was not having any of that! She swore she wouldn’t be broken and she would always hate Lucian. Time spent together and events that unfolded could change all of that and make Lucian a different guy and have Genevieve singing a different tune.
This story is full of drama, betrayal, deception, passion, tragedy, rebellion, violence, danger, loyalty and family. Let me start by saying this is a Piper Stone book it has (just as is stated in the summary) spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes (which includes noncon). When I read a book like this, I realize it is a story and I need to be in the right frame of mind for the book - if this type of book is going to offend you please do not read and then leave an review that rips it apart. I do enjoy this type of book but like I said I need to be in that state of mind.
Now to the book, it is the story of Lucian and Genevieve. It follows the way all the books in this series do with the woman being taken by the "monster" and everything that entails. The story then has both main characters finding themselves and falling in love slowly with all the mafia action/violence surrounding them. These books have a strong sense of family (the King family) loyalty. Each of the King men are damaged but find that they can be better men with love and the right woman. The steam level is high and Lucian is a total alpha. Enjoyable book.

The next book in Piper Stone’s Merciless Kings series is King’s New Possession. She chronicles the romantic journey of Genevieve Rossi and Lucian King. Lucian is the second of the King brothers and served as the Acting Don when Cristiano was imprisoned. Lucian’s responsibility focues on the legitimate diamond business. It is in this realm that he is involved with Angelo Rossi, the head of the Diamond Club in New York, a prestigious and exclusive industry. Learning that Angelo is selling his daughter into a violent crime family, he intervenes and brokers a marriage. Genevieve was kept in the dark and the news of her upcoming marriage shocked her. Like his brothers, Lucian is ruthless and dominating in all areas of his life. Can Genevieve handle such a domineering man? Does Lucian keep her safe? Will the other crime family seek revenge? Well if this is the book for your introduction to this author you better hold on to your panties! This one right here! Yep! This one will steal them if you are not being careful! Oh this is so bloody good! I cannot tell you enough how this book is a gem. Yes your thinking this is a dark read? Yes it is but it so so deliciously good that you might want to right now pick this book up! These characters are dark, viscous, endearing, and special. It has ALL the triggers and I would behoove you to bring some popcorn and soda with you! I found myself cooking doing laundry and eating with my reading device and well only the very best can entice me that much! This is one of those! It will relieve you of your breath and captivate you in the best possible way you can imagine! Piper brings it and you will feel exactly it when you read this book! Oh so Masterfully written with heat and passion! Honestly one of the best series out there by a phenomenal writer!

This story is about Lucian King and Genevieve. It is a yummy story about a son in the King mafia family. It is not a light romance and definitely isn't for everyone. Lucian is dominant, dangerous and very alpha. He comes off as an a## sometimes but he does have a heart. Genevieve meets Lucian when he father uses her to pay his debt. Even Genevieve finds a way to love Lucian.
The story has mystery, intrigue, kidnapping and violence. Not you typical couple, Lucian and Genevieve have lots of chemistry. I didn't think that immediately as he doesn't deserve her but my opinion changed pretty early on. I wasn't sure what Lucian would do at times so it make the story exciting. King's Possession had me reading straight through. It never lagged and I am glad I read it.

I am wavering between 3 and 3.5 stars. For Genevieve to be forced into an arranged marriage with Lucien, I thought she would be resistant and combative much longer than she did. She seemed to cave pretty quickly.
Genevieve continued to that thoughts of rebellion, but her actions didn't really match. I guess it was understandable since she didn't have many, if any, options. There were a few sweet, gentle moments between Lucien and Genevieve.
The story about the potential war between families, the intrusion of the cartel, the betrayal, violence, danger, corruption, and family dynamic was much more interesting than Lucien and Genevieve's relationship. I thought that was boring.

Genevieve knew her father saw her as a bargaining chip, she never thought the man her father would sell her to for paying his debts would become a man she would learn to care for and respect. Lucian King was in for a surprise with his sassy new bride, Genevieve could stand on her own yet she came to understand Lucians life and wanted to share in it with him. Only the King family have enemies willing to take what ever they can and some are closer to home than any could imagine. this is well written part of the King Brothers series but can be read standalone. with action, suspense, desires, captive themes and more!

For an arranged marriage Mafia romance this book was very good. Lucian made the marriage contract with Genevieve’s father securing her as his possession and setting off a string of events that are mafia gold.
I love it when the arranged marriage sparks an enemies to lovers situation. Lucian does not disappoint with his devotion and skill in the carnal arts. Genevieve does her job keeping Lucian on his toes with her strength and backbone. Lucian’s tough mafia exterior is shedded when alone with his wife and his devotion to her and vow to protect her always is sigh-worthy.
As an installment of the King mafia stories, I really liked it.

Great addition to the King series. Angry and brutal Lucien thinks he is getting one over on a Mafia org in NYC to get into the Diamond District. He forces Genevieve to marry him. It starts as purely political for him. Genevieve is heart broke that her father would crush all her dreams and marry her off to make his own status more secure. Genevieve defies Lucien over and over again. However, they are becoming closer and closer. Genevieve asks questions to better understand Lucien's edicts. Every time Genevieve is in danger Lucien rescues her and their love continues to grow. They both find the value of their new family.

It is a dark and gritty romance between Lucian and Genevieve. They do not start off very well. She is a pawn in the mafia world. She might have been sheltered but she still grew up knowing this world. Lucian is a bad man who never thinks a woman will affect him. She ends up being a surprise that stirs something in him that he did not know existed. Genevieve is a strong woman who is exactly what he needs. I thought there was a lot of chemistry between them. Their lives are wrapped up in drama, danger, family, twists and turns, lust and love. I enjoyed the story

J’ai beaucoup aimé Lucian, pourtant des les tomes précédent je ne l’aurais jamais imaginé comme ça.
Il est romantique, attentionné.
J’ai beaucoup aimé Genevieve aussi, elle accepte son sort en tire le meilleur parti.
Je dirais enfin une héroïne résiliente.
Je dirais que malgré le début que j’ai moins aimé ca j’étais déçu que le début ressemble aux tomes précédent. Mais honnêtement le livre est remplis de sensualité et j’ai vraiment adorer cela. À date c’est mon tome préféré. Disons que je n’ai pas apprécier le premier tome donc j’avais pas envie de lire les autres mais j’ai vraiment aimé le 2 et celui la encore plus. Une belle découverte, je vais donc lire le suivant avec joie . Bonne lecture 😊

Third book in the King Mafia series with Lucien and his artist bride Genevieve and boy it’s a hot and steamy story, and a little more darker than the first two books..
Lucien is a dark and dangerous man and with Genevieve a wise intuitive innocence they seem to be both well balanced and with all the feels of a mafia story with mystery, suspense, drama, violence as well as the chemistry between Lucien and Genevieve sizzle and with a threat of war coming at the King family from different fronts...definitely for me made this a hard to put down read.

Right from the beginning I was completely consumed by the emotions Genevieve was experiencing- anger, fear and betrayal. Genevieve’s life as she knew it had shattered, with no prospects for happiness on the horizon. Lucian may be gorgeous and steamy but this dominant King brother is inflexible and unreachable. Despite leading a sheltered life, Genevieve is incredibly strong and perceptive so despite a pending war, Lucian was defenseless when his barriers started to break down - each hot, scorching experience at a time.

Genevieve's father is caught and bribed by Lucian. She's the prize, and his new bride. This book is as dark and ruthless as the first two books. Genevieve is artistic and sassy, and not happy that her life is not her own. She's not taking any of Lucian's crap, ever after she learns firsthand about his punishment. He's dominant, callous and arrogant, and she's just his property. Until they're threatened.
