I love a good love story, and C. D. Gorri does not disappoint with her books.
They are short but packed with so much emotion, suspense, drama and even heartbreak but they always have a HEA which I love! Plus the added steam is 😚😉
Great winter romance story! I really enjoyed getting to know Clara and Kurt... well more Clara than Kurt but it fits fine with this story. She's known for a long time that Kurt was her fated mate but hid from him because of her insecurities and self consciousness of all her scars from a car accident. Her and her sister live together, run a bookstore together and are as different as night and day. Kurt is a lawyer for the pack and part the elite wolf guard for the pack. He has quite the reputation and quite the crazy, goofy attitude as shown in his outfits...very anti dress up. Clara and Kurt are like dynamite together and that fuse is extremely short. Kurt loves everything about Clara... he just wants the chance to prove it. She is a bit stubborn but out of fear more than anything else. A fast paced story in a winter wonderland. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

The seventh book in the Macconwood Pack Series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Macconwood Pack’s honored Wolf Guard Kurt Lowell and Clara Crescent c0-owner of Crescent Moon Books get trapped in an elevator when she delivers the books he ordered. She will have so much to learn about herself. I enjoyed seeing their story come together. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a wonderful holiday/paranormal romance.. I absolutely loved it. Kurt is so sweet to his new love. Convincing her of his adoration was not so easy, but so worth it..

Clara come face to face with her mate, the wolf she has crushed on for a long time. Kurt has been the wolf about town for a long time, but recently he finds himself unsatisfied. When he meets Clara in the elevator Winter Solstice starts with a bang. This story has a good plot with engaging characters and Clara's back story is great. A very enjoyable read.

This is book 7 in the Macconwood Pack Fated Mating for Kurt Lowell and Clara Crescent. Well that is one way to get your sister to fall madly in love with her mate and another for said Mate to raffish his mate too. I loved how everything seems to be working against Clara and in favor with Kurt. I loved this mating book.

Clara is sure she will get kicked out of the pack. Too bad she doesn't have the necessary info and makes mistaken presumptions. Kurt can't believe he found his mate, only to have her try to push him away. The info revealed is incredible. Looking forward to more Macconwood stories.
C.D. Gorri Her Solstice Wolf: A Macconwood Pack Novel (The Macconwood Pack Series Book 7) ARC REVIEW Kurt and Clara This book is entertaining and enjoyable, with some steamy scenes with a bit of description. The characters are great, with appearances from the Alpha and Alpha fem. C.D. Gorri always writes wonderful stories where you feel immersed as if you are part of the tale.
This is my first book by Gorri. I read it out of order, I know, but it worked as a standalone. There were references to previous events in the series and characters from other books, but nothing that I couldn't understand or that made me feel lost.
This was written in third-person and that's my preferred POV, but it wasn't done very well. There were overlaps of events because the author still chose to tell each chapter from only one character's POV, so sometimes when I started a chapter, it would be like going back in time and then seeing the events from the other person's perspective. IMO it might as well have been written in first-person 🤷🏻♀️
The writing is stilted and doesn't flow well. One thing that bugged me was how did Clara know that Kurt was her mate, yet he had no clue? They'd been at the same social events, so if her wolf recognised him, why didn't his recognise hers? And I was astonished when he immediately said he loves her. I get that it's a fated mate connection, so I expected him to feel protective and possessive towards her, but love? It was way too fast, he doesn't know anything about her, has hardly spoken two words to her, all they've done was shag. I didn't believe in the love, and for me that means it's a romance fail.
The story was confusing because Clara supposedly hid from Kurt, her fated mate, because she didn't believe she was attractive (due to a permanent limp and scarring from an incident). Then she says he's a playboy and a horndog, so she doesn't like his character. Then she says her wolf is very dominant and if he were with her, she might take him away from his family and pack because he works with the pack alpha, and she can't be in such close proximity to their pack alpha without challenging the alpha. So which is it?
It would have been better for the author to stick to one thing. The playboy issue was never addressed and conveniently forgotten. Clara never calls Kurt on it nor tells him that it made her feel insecure. The appearance thing, she seems to get over real quick, as is evidenced when they f*ck the first moment they've stuck in the elevator together. Sure, there are instances when he calls her 'pretty' and she says she's not pretty. But she doesn't act like she really thinks she's unattractive: doesn't wonder how he can want someone like her, doesn't try to hide her body from him, doesn't flinch away when he touches her. I didn't believe that she cared much about her scars.
It was the third reason that was given the most space in the book. This reason also made Clara look a bit dumb and cowardly -- well, actually she was cowardly even before the reason came up, since she kept hiding from Kurt, not wanting him to find out that they were fated mates. She stays away from pack events so she doesn't need to be in the pack alpha's vicinity. Her whole life is spent hiding and keeping herself on the sidelines. She's a damn martyr. She isolated herself and felt sorry for herself: boohoohoo, I'm physically flawed and nobody wants me!
Anyway, I wasn't impressed with Clara. Even after Kurt recognises that he's her mate, she runs away from him ... more than once. Keeps rejecting him. And Kurt was so giddy around her, I didn't believe he was an attorney. He acted more like a boy than a man. I also wanted to know more about the mate bond. How is it that she didn't know he'd marked her? If that metaphysical or mental connection had formed between them after the bite, wouldn't she have realised? I felt this was sloppy writing on the author's part. The bond only appears when the author conveniently wants it to appear, and is forgotten or ignored at other times.
Throughout the book, Kurt tried to come up with pet names for Clara, but she keeps rejecting his suggestions. I think the author meant this to be humorous, a long-standing inside joke as they banter back and forth. But it just felt extremely awkward. It would come up at odd times and it kept throwing me off because they would be talking about something different, then out of the blue one of them would throw in something about it, before going back to the original topic. It interrupted the flow of conversation and felt forced instead of organic.
Finally, I know it's a minor thing but this bugged me: Clara drove to Kurt's office to deliver the books he had ordered. She left the office in wolf form and went home. The next day, he went to her bookshop and her car was parked in front of the building. How did her car get there??
Very disappointed in this read because I'm always on the lookout for good shifter stories. Sadly, this wasn't one and I won't be reading more of this author's work.
Clara Crescent was in a bad car accident and suffered a damaged leg, scars, and self-esteem issues. Consequently, she avoids being around too many people, including the pack. Clara has had a crush on one of the wolves from the pack, but she avoids him, embarrassed at her lingering physical damage. She and her sister Delia, wolf shifters from their father’s side and descended from an ancient Druid line on their mother’s side, run the Crescent Moon bookstore. She was restless because soon she would turn 27 and she knew something important was coming her way. Her wolf was getting stronger daily and acting out of character lately. Clara already knew the identity of her mate; she had known for a long time. But she refused to claim him. And she didn’t bother dating – she already knew her mate. No one else interested her.
Kurt Lowell is a handsome, light-hearted shifter attorney. He is also one of the elite Wolf Guard who served the Alpha. He is drafting an alliance contract with a witch coven and is waiting for the delivery of critical materials from the bookstore. Tonight was the Winter Solstice, important to the Coven. But before he went rushing off to meet the high priestess regarding the alliance, he had to be prepared with one last bit of information. He wanted to propose the alliance during the pivotal part of their Solstice ceremonies. But where was this Coven? With the snow getting heavy and time running out, he couldn’t wait any longer. But when the elevator doors opened, inside was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. He was speechless. But his wolf was not, as he loudly spoke in Kurt’s head – MINE!
With Clara also speechless, the two looked at each other. Would he be able to convince her that she was the only one he would ever want? Could she push aside her insecurities and feeling unworthy as she looked into his eyes and saw his wolf identified her as mate? He is the one she has always loved. Will she back away in embarrassment, push him away? Or accept her destiny?
I love this author’s books because she paints a vivid picture around the reader and brings that world alive. You don’t just read about it, you experience it firsthand and in an amazing way. The accident scene is an example. It let the reader fully empathize with Clara as she spent 10 hours trapped in her wrecked car and unable to move at all. The 10 hours worrying about whether her unconscious sister was still alive or not was agony in itself. And I felt I was with her the entire time. And the good things are done that way too, so don’t be afraid to miss a single page of this great story.
This review for Her Solstice Wolf was kind of a magical book. Hear me out, 😂 it sounds silly I know but it’s so close to Christmas and I’m a sad bear 🐻 who has lost his Christmas cheer these past couple years. Sighs, long story. Anyways, I’ve been moping around this holiday season, lost in my own head and not really wanting to read anything but I knew I had some ARCs to finish and I know Gorri-Sensei’s books always allows me to escape. This book though brought me more than just an escape. It brought me some warmth and a spark. This book made me smile. Kurt and Clara were not only cute together, they just “fit”. They belonged together. I truly loved their relationship dynamic. Her wolf…. Magnificent. I love, love, love how he approached and broached that subject. All I will say on that. I also love how her wolf responded to him. It sometimes makes me wish these things existed because matters of the heart would be much more simple, more primal….more, carnal in the way we deal with things. Love, passion, emotion, vengeance…….reckoning. Gorri’s books will always transport me to worlds far off yet so close…. BUT sometimes her books leave a small piece of me behind and I take something from it. The thing I took from this book was patience and maybe even a little bit of hope with magic mixed in there. This book was a little bit different for me, I dunno. It just touched me differently, maybe I was just susceptible at the right moment but I felt lighter and more happy for reading this book. The world building was spectacular but as always in a Gorri book we get this. The love for family and fellowship and togethernesses is always forever present. The chemistry between Clara and Kurt was also something special, something very deep. A bond that was unbreakable, unbridled and unfettered. You could tell it would span the test of time and space. I loved it. I also loved her gift. As one myself I understand what it’s like to be able to have such a gift and to be able to do this feels good. It’s such a joyful experience that makes one’s heart burst full of emotion. But I get ahead of myself, the characters of this book is amazing. In typical Gorri fashion her side characters shine just as much as the main characters do. Delia was awesome. I’d love to see her story 😉, and I totally can’t wait for Liam! This melancholy bear 🐻 gave this book and enthusiastic 5 Christmas trees 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 and 5 Santas! 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻 because it was just that good!
I received this book as an ARC from the publisher for my honest and unbiased review.
Clara has lots of secrets. Clara is a wolf shifter and of druid ancestry. Growing up her pack didn't trust magic or anyone outside the pack so she had to hide her druid roots. When she shifted for ther first time, she realized her wolf was very dominant. She kept away from her pack so her wolf wouldn't challenge the alpha. Dhe has also learned who her fated mate is but she feels unworthy so she is avaiding him. As a teenager her car was hit by a drunk driver and she was trapped for 10 hours. Her leg was shattered and her face scarred. She feels inferior because of all that and her mate is one of the elite Wolf Guard. He is also rich and a bit of a womanizer. He would never want a mate like her. She will just avoid being near him. Then her sister manipultes her into delivering a box of books to his law office. It is her last stop before she goes home to get out of the storm. He meets her at the elevator and their passion explodes. They end up stuck in an elevator when the power goes out.
Kurt is feeling lonely and a little depressed. His friends have found their mates and are starting families. In the past, he has loved being single and popular with the ladies but both he and his wolf want something more. He is starting to feel like he might have no destined mate. No he is focusing on his job and helpiThe pack needs to be more aware of the signs of someone working dark magic to protect themselves. He ordered a bunch of books magic and witchcraft from a pack owned bookstore in town so he could do research before meeting with the coven. It is after hours and the delivery still hasn't arrived. He is getting impatient but then he sees how bad the storm is getting. When he sees the arrival of the delivery vehicle, he goes down to meet them. When the door opens he is shocked to see Clara and hear his wolf claim her as his. He wants to make her his immediately but she keeps pushing him away.
I really enjoy the Macconwood pack series. Clara is one of my favoriter characters with how she copes with the events of her life. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Clara was in a car accident that left her damaged physically and emotionally her self-esteem has taken a hit she doesn’t feel like she is worth it but her wolf well she doesn’t think they have any kind of self-esteem issues in fact she is the boss of them both. Clara has crushed on the one alpha that checks on the boxes on her list, but she feels she can only admire him from a distance especially with her issues hiding keeps her from being an embarrassment to him. Kurt sexy as all get out alpha shifter attorney for the pack, part of the elite wolf guard, with a great attitude and hasn’t found his mate yet although, he would like to. They get stuck together in the elevator now she has known for a while that he was her mate but he had no knowledge or idea that she was his mate but what confuses him even more is the fact she is pushing him away doing everything to keep him at a distance and he is determined to find out why. First the first time they both feel alive, but will she give him a chance, will he be able to convince her that he loves everything about her including her scars and can she accept happiness because he is on board?

After a crash Clara Crescent left scarred and with a limp then Kurt kisses her recognizing her as his mate. Clara Crescent and her sister Delia had been in an accident in their teens while Delia is thrown clear Clara was trapped for ten hours until they were rescued. Her shattered leg after many operations had left her with a limp and the cuts to her face had left a silvered scar down her face. She and her sister are half wolf shifter but tend to stay out of pack business as they have a secret they are also have Druid blood. Clara has a crush on Kurt Lowell a highly positioned member of the pack so she avoids him. Then on the Winter Solstice her sister gets her to do her delivery and it is to Kurt so she does it last in the hope that her would have left for the day. When she gets there he is just coming out of the elevator but they end up in it under a sprig of mistletoe then the power goes out.

Gorgeous seasonal, paranormal romance. Clara, emotionally & physically damaged from a car accident has little confidence and lives day to day controlling her dominant wolf within her. I liked the way the writer brings her insecurities to the fore, even though she is an apex shifter predator. Her unrequited love from afar for the gorgeous Kurt adds to her vulnerability. Things come to a head on a snowy night when they are trapped in the lift at his law firm. The heat elevates as both their wolves ‘call’ to each other as each other’s fated mates. A great steamy encounter follows setting the theme for the rest of the story. Their ‘journey’ to their HEA is rocky, but fascinating, especially the depths of Kurt’s character and the sigh-worthy way he pursues Clara, refusing to take no for an answer! Another great story from C D Gorri!

Clara is part druid, something has been kept from the pack her whole life. She has known that Kurt is her mate but has hid from due to her insecurities about the scars on her body from the accident as a teenager. She feels inferior due that damaged that was done during the accident.
Kurt is a elite guard wolf for the pack as well as a lawyer. He has a reputation as a womanizer, but lately since his brother has found his mate, something is off. When he sees Clara he knows without a date she is his mate.
This is a great addition to the Macconwood pack series, looking forward to the next in this series.

Kurt and Clara's story is awesome. From the beginning of the book to the end, you wonder what is next. This story has me wanting to read the next one and the next one. CD Gorri continues to take us on magical story rides and this is no exception. It is a well rounded story, full of body and personality. The characters are described well and the story line is succinct and travels through without confusion. When YOU have finished reading, you say, I wonder when the next one is coming. Well done, CD GORRI WELL DONE!!!

Now I can’t decide which of the twins is my favorite! I love how the author took this quirky, playboy and transformed him into the perfect mate for his hybrid baby! The author kept the fun and romance of the holidays alive, with a healthy mix of worry and fear. Once again we got to see what a fantastic alpha Rafe is and I can only hope that we learn more about the new wolf designation in the future. This was the perfect Christmas story and I can’t wait to see what the new year brings for this pack.
I have loved every Macconwood story. This was no exception. Kurt doesn't want a mate. But with everyone around him finding theirs, he's starting to reconsider. Clara has known for some time that Kurt is her mate. What does she do, avoid him at all costs. He has no clue she even exists, so how hard could it be. However, mates will always find one another. They have a rocky road ahead of them, but with a little trust and patience, they can find their HEA. Another wonderful read from Ms. Gorri. I received an advanced copy and this is my voluntary opinion.
I always Love reading C.D. Gorri books/Stories, they are the perfect length for me. This is one of favorite stories due to the female lead is an Alpha Female that is more than she seems. She is very possessive of her mate, but feels she is not enough. He proves her wrong, but after some misunderstandings and some very tense moments. This story is more than 5 stars in my book, but I can only give 5. Great story set in the Macconwood Pack area, this is stand alone, but you get to revisit a few friends along the way.
Clara and Curt A wolf guard, a witch-wolf, fated mates, drama, steamy, and happily-ever-mated. Clara is a strong wolf that knew who her mate was for a long time. Curt was a playboy wolf guard, but his wolf wanted his mate. When he finally comes face to face with Clara, nothing would stop him from claiming her. I love fated mates stories. This book is just as good as the first one in this series.
Audiobook: Elle Sonali narrates this book. I could listen to her narration to C. D. Gorri's books all day long. The two make a great team of story telling.
This book was amazing!!! Clara and Kurt were fated mates! As soon as he really actually saw her, he knew. She had known for sometime and was avoiding him. Kurt was never going to give up and lose Clara. They had to work through secrets misunderstandings and insecurities to get to their HEA! Wonderfully written, fast paced romance with hot and steamy scenes. Truly a 5 star read

This was a nice romantic story with some intriguing parts leaving you wondering what's going on and what's next? The story moved along at a quick pace; kept me engrossed and was hard to put down once I started it. This is a good story to read if you have a couple of hours to lose yourself in fantasy time!
