My name is Vianne Vânători. I'm a vampire hunter… and apparently a lawwoman for the supernatural community.
Just when I think I understand this world of vampires, witches, and werewolves, things get weird. Like, gnomes, fairies, and pixies weird.
Now, I'm the liaison between humans and the supernatural community just as my Vânători ancestors once were. Of course, my ancestors didn't need vampire blood to gain access to their powers and weren't distracted by the urge to find the only vampire in town, jump his bones, and drink his blood.
Romantic, right?
While trying to help some of the nonhuman citizens in town, I get a visit from something scary enough to terrify Ramble, my hellhound sidekick, and frighten Artemis. To make matters worse, it turns out Artemis isn't exactly the most trustworthy of allies.
I'm not sure if I should cut and run or stay to help the supernatural community as promised. One thing's for sure, there are a lot more creatures in this town than even the supernatural community knows about… and one of them seems to be stalking me.
Go Magic Yourself is the third book in the Artemis Necklace Series and follows the journey of Vianne and Ramble as they take on new roles in the tiny town of Ricketts, Maine and learn the hard way that trust should not be so easily given.
Vianne has decided to stay and put down some roots in the small but busy paranormal community. There's a fun and intriguing cast of characters you get to learn about. A deliciously hot Werewolf and a quiet but equally as attractive vampire for Vianne to dream about. I like that this book didn't immediately thrust Vianne into a relationship with anyone. It's better for her to be by herself while she attempts to navigate this new world she is just now learning exists. Of course the author dangles the carrots in front of the reader and put Vianne in some pretty steamy situations with the 2 love interests but she never actually gives in completely and she doesn't have to. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to add a paranormal boyfriend onto her long list of foreign stuff she's learning about and trying to acclimate herself to. You really see the internal struggle Vianne has with the Artemis necklace and how difficult it is for her to want to give in to the power but not wanting to lose herself in the process. It's a very fast paced story that keeps you hanging on by the seat of your pants the whole time. I couldn't put it down. The worst part about finishing it was that there's not another one for me to continue with. I can't wait for the next installment.
I highly recommend this series. You can read them as a standalone, you will be able to follow along and understand there's just some back story that you'd be missing out on but it won't keep you from understanding each book by itself!!
Please hurry with the next one JJ!!!

Our heroine has found her place in the paranormal community, but it was not necessary one she sought out. Now she wonders if she is cut out for the role.
This is book three in the series, but it works pretty well as a standalone. You will be missing a bit of background, but all the important stuff is explained early on.
This is an urban fantasy story with all the trappings. The story is well written and easy to read with a well detailed setting that really sets the stage rather nicely. There is a lot of detail to the world and I enjoy exploring more of it in each book. Similarly, our characters are also nicely done, with just that right combination of allure and mystery, all wrapped around a tough exterior. I really enjoyed our heroine and definitely look forward to seeing more of her adventures. The story itself moves along at a good pace and has plenty of intriguing twists and turns to it. Overall, I highly enjoyed this story and look forward to more from this author.
Highly recommended.
