A dark, witty & wildly entertaining thriller in the vein of Dexter, You & They Never Learn ⁣

𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 kicks off with a gruesome murder on p.3 that sets the stage for a dark, creative take on a serial killer book. I was all in because I love a smart, witty remorseless killer that truly thinks they are doing the world a service - in this case getting rid of cheaters. ⁣

I enjoyed Victoria’s character. She’s a thriller writer with a secret life as a serial killer! She gives us quite a few laugh out loud moments which I appreciated. The book has short chapters and is fast paced which I loved but it also left me wanting more. It definitely sets itself up for a book 2 but I felt that this book ambitiously sets up a lot of plot points and then leaves too much unresolved. There are a lot of balls being juggled in the air here (𝘱𝘶𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘤 𝘐𝘠𝘒𝘠𝘒 🤣) and I’d have liked a bit more closure because we honestly got none. ⁣

Some great characters are introduced - I really enjoyed the detectives on the case but mid way through the book, they just disappeared. There wasn’t anything else said about the case. I definitely wanted more of that angle. It’s great to have two strong female characters - one on each side of the law. I anticipate some great cat & mouse moments and an epic showdown between Victoria and Detective Amy. 🤞🏼⁣

Overall, this was a strong debut and one I definitely enjoyed. I’ll be reading book 2 because I need to know how Victoria reacts when her past, present and future collide! ⁣3.5 ⭐️ (rounded up)

My first read of August did not disappoint! Olivia also runs @thrillerbooklover and @thrillerbookloverbox! She has the most beautifully packaged books and fun items shipped right to your door!

Victoria Henderson stays busy with her wildly successful writing career about a female serial killer, but she manages to find time to rid the world of a dangerous scourge...cheating men.

Detective Amy Carson is feeling the stress of solving the biggest case of her career. She feels that the FBI's profile of the killer is wrong, but no one will listen.

The author did an incredible job with making Victoria a multifaceted character. The chapters that included her childhood were so important to understanding this complex woman. This book has very little gore and is filled with dark humor...if you rooted for Joe and Dexter, you will definitely root for Victoria! And with that cliffhanger, I am more than ready for book two!

“Serial Cheaters”

“Serial cheaters were a significant problem to society and it was essential that some made them pay for their heinous crimes.”

Victoria, a crime novelist, murders serial cheaters in her spare time. Mainly because she feels she is doing a service by ridding society of these rich sleaze bags. Victoria almost reminds me of a female Dexter. Amy is the detective that was assigned to the serial killer case when the bodies start piling up.

Victoria was such a great main character. She was complex and meticulous. I loved being in the head of a psychopath. Oh boy!! Victoria was calculating and men everywhere better be on their best behavior 👀. “

“Serial Cheaters” was such a fun debut novel by Olivia Flaggart. The was a mystery but it also had humorous parts which I really enjoyed. Wait till your find out what Victoria’s trophies were after each kill 🙊.

The chapters mainly switch off between characters and timelines effortlessly. Victoria’s backstory also helped me understand her motives more. This fast paced and extremely easy to read. Sometimes books have sections in which stories slow down.

I wish there was more emphasis on the investigation and solving the murders. The book detailed well Victoria’s backstory, current life and her crimes. It felt like Amy the detective was an afterthought. The book would have been better had both female characters been equally as complex.

The end left me with some unanswered questions but I feel that could leave room for a sequel…I am looking for more on Victoria.

Ok, I loved this book so much and Victoria is one of my favorite characters ever!

She writes books and murder men who cheats! Told in the past and present and a few different pov’s which are done impeccably! These all allow us to get a glimpse into Victoria’s past and and family.

I can’t believe this is the authors debut and I’m pretty sure this is going to be a series so I’ll be anxiously awaiting book 2!!!

I’ll be recommending this one to those who love thrillers with a little bit of laughter on the side!

Thanks to Thriller Book Lover for my gifted copy!!

FINLAY DONOVAN & THEY NEVER LEARN had a baby and they named her SERIAL CHEATERS 👏🏼👏🏼

Victoria is a crime selling author/millionaire who murders cheating men in her spare time (strong female lead for the win!). And yeah she may be a killer - but she’s badass and I love her.

I thought the main POV’s would be between Victoria and the detective, but you get a glimpse into many other characters as well. Super fun and witty and very entertaining! A definite must read for thriller fans. Plus the ending left room for more so hopefully there’s a sequel coming our way! 🤞🏼

My Thoughts:
AS IF Olivia wasn't talented enough you know she owns her own bookstore , and works with talented bloggers and reps and all that jazz. She then out of nowhere decides to surprise us all and writes her first book. She adds on to her many talents. I mean it's no surprise that's she totally excelled at writing a Thriller. I mean she is a Thriller Book Lover and her writing shows it. She delivered a fast pace Suspenseful with quite a bit of laugh out loud witty moments. She gives witty strong characters. Along with a unique and creative plot.

You guys will love our main protagonist Victoria. Olivia developed her very good throughout the novel. I enjoyed this book and definitely recommend this page Turner must have on your book shelf type of book!

Really disappointing and I’m so sad because I had such high hopes for this book. A true crime junkie that kills cheaters in her spare time? I mean how could I not want to read this book. But unfortunately it was such a disappointment on all aspects. From the writing that was very dry to the characters that were not likeable or had any depth to them… everything was just very surface level for this book and it’s such a shame because I REALLY wanted to love it and it had such HUGE potential. Needless to say I won’t be checking out any of her books again because her writing so nothing special in my opinion 🤷🏻‍♀️ #sorrynotsorry

This book started out strong and has an interesting plot, but the ending left me with unanswered questions. Victoria’s character is well written but I really wanted to hear more from the detectives’ sides too. Possibly it is left open ended for a reason and there will be a sequel?

Victoria has a major problem with serial cheaters so in her spare time from writing best-selling novels, she murders the men who can’t keep it in their pants. The bodies are piling up but she’s on a roll and the balls are all in her court (😂 IYKYK!)

Umm…ok, chapter TWO. That’s how long it took for me to be HOOKED. I mean, we’re talking Louis Vuitton bags, body parts and a serial killer in her post-murder habitat by page THREE.

This tale is told in past and present chapters and with numerous POV’s, which I really enjoy. We get a look at Victoria’s past as well as her family members and victims.

I feel like this was the just beginning of what could possibly (hopefully 🤞🏽) become a series ? I would LOVE to read more about Victoria’s crusade to eliminate all the cheaters she came in contact with, accidentally or purposefully. That cliffhanger! I need more. Please tell me there’s more, Olivia?!

This was a great debut novel and I’m looking forward to reading more by this author! Fans of Dexter and They Never Learn will be utterly entertained.

Thank you so much @thrillerboxlover and @oliviaflaggert for my super cute box and review copy!

This was an interesting but disappointing read. It’s dark, and the concept was what really drew my attention - a thriller writer killing cheaters. Victoria is a fascinating character, and I liked having a serial killer as the main storyteller. However, I felt that the potential was wasted. I thought the writing was simplistic & amateurish - there’s a lot of telling going on. I found most of the characters are unlikeable and annoying, and I did not care if they were killed or not. I really would have liked to see more from the perspective of the detectives investigating the murders. It feels like there will be a sequel due to a cliffhanger ending, but I don’t think I’ll be reading it.

This was such a fun, clever and entertaining debut from Flaggert! I throughly enjoyed the creative serial killer plot and relished in the witty bits weaved throughout this thriller!

It’s a super quick read that was well paced and I was completely intrigued throughout!

I did want a little more from the detectives storyline and I felt the ending left me with a few unanswered questions. This leaves me feeling like we may be seeing a sequel or series from this one! 🤞

First off, the title is very intriguing. The first few pages already tackled a horrific murder scene that is well-plotted. We have Victoria, the best-selling author, and part-time serial killer (yes, you heard that right). She is a robust and unique character whose sense of humor is also off the chain. Lol. The book didn't disappoint, and it has likable and complex characters. The story is distinctive and clever. The ending feels like a cliffhanger, and I am expecting a book 2! I must say that for a debut, Olivia did terrifically! ⁣⁣Get your copy today!!!

If you enjoyed They Never Learn by Layne Fargo and/or None Shall Sleep by Ellie Marney, I highly recommend picking this one up! Such a fun, quick read with another badass feminine serial killer as the main character.

Lost me a little bit in the last 20% or so focusing so much on her relationship and meeting his parents, but overall a solid 4-star read!

Serial Cheaters, Olivia Flaggert

Unlikeable & Narcissistic. Author by trade; serial killer by passion.

Victoria is a well published, rich and annoyingly cavalier about her wealth, success and idiosyncrasies. All of which culminate to her being a savvy and savage serial killer. One that goes after cheaters - husbands and boyfriends - who just can’t keep or live up to their promises, especially when it comes to monogamy and respecting the parameters of a relationship. Victoria has experienced enough and intends to put these serial cheaters in their place - their graves!

A fun debut with lots of tongue-in-cheek humour and references (Thriller Book Lover was my fave). Victoria was an unlikable character who you love to hate and who you can’t wait to see get her comeuppance! Karma is a b!$h but so is Vic.

My thanks to @olivia and @thriller for the opportunity to read and review #serialcheaters and for this gorgeous promo box!

WOW what a fascinating thriller. This book sets up nicely for a sequel (fingers crossed for one). I enjoyed the perspective of Victoria; she was very interesting and very violent, but in a way that made me LOL multiple times. Surprisingly graphic too - fair warning!

I won a copy of Serial Cheaters by Olivia Flaggert from Goodreads.

Serial Cheaters by Olivia Flaggert is great fun for readers who like a little vengeance with their detective story. This is not a novel, however, for readers who demand a tidy denouement. Is this the first novel in a series? The detectives on the case disappear about midway through the book, and readers definitely want more about them and their investigation. Has our murderer finally made an error that will get her caught? Despite how good this story is, some readers may feel cheated by the lack of conclusion, but this reader hopes there are more books to come that continue this unique and fun mystery!

Thank you to Thriller Book Lover and Olivia Flaggert for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback and review.

Victoria Henderson is a best selling author who also kills serial cheaters.

This book has multiple POVs which made it a very fast read. The way they were used to get the back story was done very well. This ended on a cliffhanger and I need more!! I really really hope this is going to be come a series because I just have to know what happened.

I loved this one! This was my first ever ARC and I’m so glad to have gotten to read it! I wanted the book to be longer only because I didn’t want it to end.
This was a witty, fast paced read that definitely had me gripped from the start. Definitely gave me Dexter vibes, but LOVED that the MC was a strong female. I was pleasantly surprised by how many different character perspectives we got because based on the synopsis on the back I thought it would only be between Victoria and the detectives.
However, on the other end of that I think there was only 4 or 5 chapters total about the detectives and it left me wanting more with them and their relationship?? Definitely a ~~cliff hanger~~ (😉) ending that I’m hoping is getting set up for a book 2! Can’t wait to see if there is going to be another one and see how all of the characters develop!

I will start off by saying the idea of the book is fantastic. It sounded fun so I was looking forward to it. That being said, the MC is dry. The whole book is DRY. It was hard to get into the story because it’s so DRY. It was hard to finish because it’s so DRY. The author shamelessly plugged her own BOOKSTORE and how “great it is” into the story. Cringe. Just pass on this one.

Serial Cheaters - Olivia Flaggert

As a huge fan of Dexter, I have often put myself in his shoes; murdering for the good of the population.

In this case, it is for the good of the female population, which I can appreciate just a tad more.

Victoria Henderson is an intelligent, successful thriller writer who lives a double life as a serial killer. She comes from a dark past and I couldn't help but relate to her pain! I quickly started rooting for her! She is quick witted, and calculated and made for a great main character.

We also meet Amy, another incredibly intelligent woman. She is a detective who receives the biggest case of her career so far, which is to put together the clues of Victoria's meticulous murders. Just when she thinks she's on to something, she is ridiculed for her opinion. But she doesn't back down.

I thought this book was a great look into the mind of a female psychopath. And, on the other hand, being a woman on the police force. There are some loose ends that leave you wanting more, and hopefully we will get a part two.  I'm already wondering what Victoria is up to now!

Happy publication day to my friend Olivia from Thriller Book Lover!!! Thank you for sending me a copy of your debut novel to read. I love the cover.

In this book we follow Victoria Henderson, a crime fiction bestselling author who murders serial cheaters in her spare time.

This was such a unique take on a serial killer thriller. Olivia has a way of writing a novel where she threw some subtle details in, while making me laugh at the same time(forgive my dark sense of humor). I had a lot of fun reading this, as it starts with a gruesome murder on page 3 and keeps going throughout. I can't wait to read everything Olivia writes!!!!
