Digging Into Skinwalker Ranch

Rate this book
[Amazon Review]This book is essential to understanding the history of the ranch. Skinner presents in chronological order the previous owners and complete history of the Ranch. This is critical to understanding the strange paranormal events that happened over the years. He interviews various employees, giving us a better idea of what was expected of Bigelow's people and what was considered significant enough to report. His excursions onto the ranch after-hours are spell binding, and his interactions with the "hitchhikers" once returning home, makes one wonder when the visit to the Ranch really ends... More questions than answers!

This was a rather dry, academic study of the Skinwalker Ranch phenomenon. There was much technical jargon and references to equipment and experiments but, without much of an explanation to the average layman like myself. There were also a great deal of anecdotal stories that were related without comment. What? Why? How? I wanted to ask. All in all it was an interesting read but, for me at least, it resulted in more questions than answers.

A mixture of Science and Science Fiction

I came across this book after seeing one of the authors appear on the History Channels “Curse of Skinwalker Ranch” show.

Skinwalker Ranch is a place of high strangeness, and is associated with all sorts of phenomena from UFOs to Portals to Shapeshifters.

This book is a series of notes and stories about the ranch, collated from various sources.

The first half of the book looks at the history of the ranch, and features very detailed investigations into some of the strangeness that occurs there.

The second half of the book veers into much less Scientific research, including remote viewing and anecdotal stories that seem embellished and dramatised.

I enjoyed the first half of the book, but found the second half a bit too “woo woo”.

Still, for anyone enjoying the TV show, this book makes a good companion read.

Skin walker, fantasy or reality

I find Skin Walker Ranch very intriguing and have read all books in print .I just discovered this latest book and found it interesting. My wife and I can't wait for the television show airingTuesday nights on History channel.I hope we never find that the stories are true or proven fantasy. What would we do then ? Our imaginations are kept fertile by Skin walker Ranch ,Star dust Ranch and many Bigfoot and UFO stories.maybe someday the truth will surface but what will the fun be then ?I loved all of the lore and look forward to to more.

I don't know how to rate these books anymore.
They're ALL repeats of the last 3 or 4 books, just in a different format with a few new things added.

A good read, and if you had to read one of his books, this would probably be the one.
Still, strange though.

The author, Ryan Skinner has been researching this Ranch for years. He has some answers finally, but tantalizingly few. You MUST read!!

The author defines what a skinwalker is which is a very good thing to do since it's not exactly a common term. He talks about the evil Witching Way and the Navajo Witch Purge of 1878 which is a real thing.

He talks about various owners of the ranch and why some of them left the ranch (for different reasons), the NIDS and how it's a major problem for the guards in dealing with people who keep trying to sneak onto the ranch.

Considering what happens on the ranch, actually trying to sneak onto it isn't really the smartest thing to try to do, by the way.

One of the things that is very interesting in the book and the television show is how if an animal is mutilated by something on the ranch the predators have nothing to do with it afterwards. Normally predators reduce an animal that died normally to pretty much bones but in the case of an mutilated animal they leave it totally alone.

The book has a lot of guard reports of various things which cover from almost nothing happening to dealing with people trying to sneak onto the ranch to dealing with strange things happening.

It's also a very good thing that the author has included some photos.

He talks bout high radiation levels at times, how beams of light seem to go from the ground up (both seen on the series), shadow people, Bigfoot and automatic writing.

One very major thing he covers is the 'hitchhiker' problem where people experience things on the ranch and somehow sometimes these things end up following them to their homes. The author shows up how this is backed up by evidence.

A very well written book, dovetailing right into the television program.

This is the second book by Ryan Skinner I have read. A lot of stuff from this book was in the first book I read. However, there was a lot of new information.

I rate this book 2 stars based on the number of spelling mistakes and format of the book. The newspaper clippings (like in the other book) you cannot read. Also, the book seemed like a continuation- like a run-on sentence. Chapters started at the bottom of pages. There was no separation in some of this book. The book could have been put together better.

Decent enough read

I enjoyed the book. But I wish that the author would work more on his content. I feel sometimes that he expands in areas that are trivial while leaving the more important ones unexplored. All in all a good book that will hold your attention until the end.

Hilarious

Where do I begin....the spelling errors alone were ridiculous, then the writing at the end! So hilarious! I wish they had been caught trespassing, then the stupidity would have ended.

Interesting reports about the strange occurances on and around the ranch. Would be nice if the typing and spelling errors had been corrected along with the punctuation and poor formatting. 😊

Repetitive

If you read the other skin walker ranch books then this one is nothing new. A lot of statistics and all repetitive stories.
