No secret is safe, not even with the dead. Former Texas Ranger and now private investigator, Mason Redstone, can investigate the dead, but as a medium, he can also talk to them.
When Mason’s estranged partner, Trick Monroe, appears asking for Mason’s help to solve a murder, it forces Mason to confront the past and attempt to rebuild their fractured relationship. But when Trick reverts to his old ways, Mason must question whether it’s best to leave the past behind.
Old bonds don’t break easily, though, and when Trick insists his accused friend is innocent, Mason reluctantly agrees to help. As they unearth new clues with the assistance of Mason’s sister, Mikey, Detectives Daniels and Remalla, and Mason’s own paranormal gifts, they shed light on unexpected suspects. But when a shocking revelation comes to light, Mason must determine whether to trust his old friend or abandon the investigation.
Despite the difficulties, their efforts rouse a killer’s interest and before they can discover the answers, Mason’s life, and others, will be at risk. Can they find a murderer before they become the next victims?

Award-winning author J.T. Bishop is a writer of mystery thrillers with a supernatural edge. Growing up, she read books by Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark, and Dean Koontz, devoured every episode of The X-Files, and watched plenty of TV shows with great partnerships that left her wanting more. She loves tangled relationships, unexpected twists and turns, heart-stopping love stories, and the complications that come with all the above. Throw in a little supernatural fun and she’s hooked. Her evil plan is to hook you, too.
She’s the author of The Red-Line Trilogy and its sister series, The Fletcher Family Saga, which features touches of urban fantasy, light sci-fi, and paranormal romance. She’s also happily writing mystery thrillers featuring two charismatic detectives who may occasionally encounter a supernatural villain or two, and a crossover series which follows the exploits of a gifted, but troubled, paranormal P.I. and his spunky sister.
And coming March 20th, J.T. introduces the Lexie Logan mystery thriller series with book one, The Forgotten Night. Introduced in Bishop's detective books, Lexie is an independent journalist on the hunt for the truth, no matter what the cost. She's a thrilling character Bishop can't wait to share with you!
All the above keeps her busy, but in her spare time, she loves a good movie, tasty food, an unfortunate sugar addiction, and traveling.

Lots of action and unique characters! It's a fun romp with a little murder mystery and a little paranormal activity. I'll start the second in the series - we have some romance in the mix and I'd like to find out how that's going to go.
A well-written plot with a little mystery, a burgeoning romance, some plot twists, enjoyable paranormal bits, and believable characters. This is my first time reading this author and I'm definitely reading more!
J.T. Bishop is a fantastic writer! I have read almost all of her books and loved every one! Edge of my seat suspense with Lost Souls, could not put it down! Can't say enough, just wish she could write as fast as I could read! J.T. Bishop, keep writing, please! 😉
High intrigue, the characters’ realistically portrayed emotional dilemmas, and breakneck pacing elevate this supernatural mystery above the ordinary, the first in the Redstone Chronicles by Bishop.
The caseload is heavy for Mason Redstone, the former Texas Ranger and now private investigator. When Trick Monroe, Mason’s estranged partner, comes looking for Mason’s help to solve a murder, the latter reluctantly agrees, unaware of the danger ahead.
The expert pacing and high suspense stand out, but more memorable are the vividly developed major and minor characters. The affable but troubled Mason is credible as both a medium and a private detective, and the large cast of diverse characters is realistic. Tension stays high, with nonstop twists and new revelations, and Bishop smoothly blends the sleuthing with the characters’ individual struggles.
The supernatural elements are convincing, and the story’s explosive ending provides a neat twist that shocks and satisfies at once. Both Paranormal suspense fans and traditional mystery lovers will eagerly await Bishop’s next.
I struggled a bit with “”Lost Souls – No Secret is Safe,” book one in the “Redstone Chronicles” by J.T. Bishop. But then, I also struggled with book one of “The Family or Foe Saga with Detectives Daniels and Remalla.” In that, the dialogue between the main characters, the banter, seemed over-the-top; the cop talk hit me as cliché. But by the second book it felt more natural. In Redstone, two characters from Texas talk like over-the-top caricatures of how people see Texans – complete with boots, cowboy hats, and “Hi, there, little lady” posturing and strutting. I trust that will calm down a bit in book two.
Now that’s out of the way, let’s talk about what I like about “Lost Souls.” Everything else!! I am as hooked in this new series as in the previous ones. Former Texas Ranger turned private investigator/medium, Mason Redstone, his sister Mikey, and his former partner Trick Monroe battle bad guys and bad spirits. In a life-or-death investigation, one filled with lies, secrets and betrayals, can they discover the murderer in time? Second half of the book is quite clever, filled with twists and thrills, and expertly written. I especially like the crossover effect with characters from both series showing up in supporting roles. Friends and family play a significant role in each of these series, and I’m excited to see what’s ahead in the “Redstone Chronicles.”
After reading a Daniels and Remalla series, A Murder and Suspense Thriller, I decided I couldn’t stop there. The Redstone Chronicles series promises to be another excellent read. Daniels and Remalla make an appearance in this series. If you don’t think ghosts are real or that anyone can actually communicate with them, you may have to think again after reading about Mason’s abilities. Trick, on the other hand has no such abilities. He’s charming, he’s a flirt, but he gets results. Mikey, Mason’s sister has her own abilities although different from his.
J. T.’s. characters are well developed and it is easy to become immersed in the story.
I will be following this series as well as the first Daniels and Remalla series, The Family or Foe Saga.
Mason, Trick and Mikey make a good team sorting out paranormal and normal problems between them without too much influence from the spirit side. Trick reappears at a convenient time to help as it is a family matter for him and he does cause some complications and Mason is seeing something but it's not that useful till near the end. He is dealing with a family with problems and knows he's on the right track but looking after Mikey and keeping an eye on Trick is taking up a lot of his energy. The twist at the end is ingenious and Trick saves the day to redeem himself. Good story not too much paranormal but why give Mason more problems at the end ?
A former Texas ranger turned p.i. and paranormal investigator joins forces with his former partner to clear his step brother's wife of murder. The relationship between the men is difficult and complicated. The case is challenging and they are both helped and hampered by members of the police force and a beautiful but vengeful woman.
Pretty good story though a bit too much socializing and joking. I enjoyed the paranormal elements. Story picked up at the end and was suspenseful then. Not bad.
Lost Souls (Book One in the Redstone Chronicles), my first read from author J.T. Bishop and the first book in the Redstone Chronicles. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. The book was well-written & flowed smoothly & quickly. I look forward to reading more from this author and in this series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Guess I got into a groove with Daniels and Remalla series. I fell in love with their banter, their partnership and that little piece of psychic atmosphere surrounding them. This series, although good, doesn't have that same feel. It lacks that true "live or die for my partner" vibe and the paranormal feels like it doesn't fit. But I'm not giving up. I will read on.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Mason Radstone and his sister run a PI business. His former partner from the Texas Ranger days, Trick comes and asks Mason to help with a case. Trick's stepbrother, Chad, was killed and his wife is charged with the murder. Chad had an affair and his mistress is found dead in a swimming pool. Not all is as it seems. A surprise and action packed conclusion.
I love these novels! Rem and Daniel, Mason, Mikey and Trick. Now Valerie! I never saw this ending coming! There is woo woo, deceit, murder, disfunction, intrigue. You will not want to put it down. But be ready for a shocker. Well written characters. Constant twists and turns. A must read that's all there is to it! Enjoy
Mason Redstone is a former Texas Ranger now on his own as a private investigator. He also has paranormal abilities which pop up to help his investigations in intriguing ways. I liked this well-written and well-plotted book and the paranormal bits are not forced. The plot involves reconnecting with an old partner (who has issues) to solve a cold-case murder. This is a series that spun off another mystery series about an FBI team that also makes an appearance in this book.
This was a new to me author. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Action, comradery, and humor! You know it's a good book when a movie plays in your head as you're reading. That's this book. I loved how the characters dealt with each other. Excited to read the next in the series. At least, I hope there's more!
Not great but not bad. I feel like the author tried too hard not to be predictable. Spoiler alert: the ending was a huge disappointment as throughout the whole book there was absolutely no hint about what would become the cliffhanger. I truly believe it was a tacky afterthought to sell the next book in the series.
As a dedicated fan of Bishop’s other books, I had to give this series a shot and it did not disappoint. A lot more of Daniels and Remalla than I expected, a nice surprise, and more of the great dialogue and awesome characters I’ve come to expect from Bishop.
A former Texas ranger and his sister, and his former partner, and two paired of local cops, and a dead guy, his wife, and a dead woman and her mom, sister and brother, and Valerie, and a bunch of ghosts and other people. Mix them all together and you come up with a pretty interesting story. We'll done, a very good read.
Mason is a former Texas Ranger that decided to use his talents as a medium to help people. Then suddenly his former partner shows up at his office in California asking for help to solve his step brother's murder. Both men have their own ghosts (figuratively) and will have to deal with them.
Wow, this is a book with two of my favourite genres in, thriller and paranormal. And it’s bloody brilliant. Once I started reading I just couldn’t put it down. Had to finish it. Roll on book two. Highly recommended
I really enjoyed this mystery novel, it had a great plot and I loved the inclusion of the supernatural elements. The Redstone Chronicles was a great start to this series and worked great as a spin off.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A thoroughly enjoyable and gripping tale. The author keeps the interest all the way through, with all the problems of the characters coping with the ghostly interventions. More please!
I read one of these books 📚 and had to look up the great author! Now I'm reading them one after the other! Lol thank you for being an amazing author! I will be sad the day I'm caught up! Lol keep up the fabulous work! Dawn Bogue
This is a who dun it story that is not my thing. I’m reading and there is no suspense or urge to turn the pages. I enjoyed the talking whin the dead, the best. Too much to do about nothing. The talking dead reveal the whole bag of worms. Sick 3
I almost quit reading but carried on knowing I am sometimes slow to get enveloped by a book. Lots of twists but the ending is a twist I never saw coming. Looking forward to more of Mikey, Mason and Truck's tricks!
Starts out with one murder but maybe there are two. Did Lydia really drown by accident or did someone help her along. Lots of twists and turns and relationship issues.
