This one was disappointing. I normally like this author but this particular book was just too much. Allison has an 11 and a half week old baby. This baby sleeps for 8 hours straight, seemingly never needs to be changed, coos when she wakes up rather than crying, and is generally just a background prop. It is so unrealistic that I was complete unable to get into the story. Allison also happens to have an extra car seat just sitting at home? Really? What kind of person has an extra car seat? This is supposed to be a single mom with zero support system but she randomly has an extra car seat. And our hero is over the top helpful with this baby. Every time they go somewhere, he grabs the baby in the car seat, he grabs the diaper bag (which they don’t need since this baby apparently doesn’t poo or pee). It was just too much.

It was a good book, and a great story idea. The story itself just felt rushed, and some parts seemed like they were just skipped over. For example, when her parents came to visit her in the hospital. We should have gotten to see their reactions and how Derek dealt with them.

I will say that one of the best things about the book was car seat safety was put into it. It was surprising but refreshing to see.

Excellent storytelling, this amazing story of finding love after facing a horrific incident was filled with mystery, intrigue and lots of heartfelt moments between the main characters. The author has created a incredible story that reaches the heart of the readers and she manages to convey to them how the characters are facing the dangers around them and still get to have a happy ending.

I liked it but I wished it wasn't rushed. There were instances where I wished the author would elaborate more on a scene to add more depth to the book. Also without spice or humor I found it a little boring.
