My heart has always been his.

Since before I could even spell the name Grayson, I only had eyes for one boy—my perfect, larger than life best friend, who always managed to bring his bright light into my very dark existence with just one of his boyish smiles.

With Chad, I could forget the dismal life I had of being the flawless privileged daughter of a cruel, evil man.

He was my escape.

My solace.

My hope that one day I’d be free of it all and live how I always envisioned with my green-eyed boy at my side.

He was my everything until the devil’s piercing black eyes seduced him away from me.

They call him Saint, but heaven is not at fault for his pitiful creation.

Only the devil could produce such mouth-watering beauty to hide the ugliness that dwells inside.

He’s the demon that terrorizes my days and haunts my restless nights.

Saint wants to steal all that I love, believing he can beat me, but the fool has another think coming.

I’m Eleanor Grayson, b*tch.

You want a fight, Saint?

Well, I’ll give you one you’ll never forget.

I was born and bred to be ruthless.

By the time I’m through, not even hell will recognize you.

I really enjoyed this, super well written and great to see all my fave characters again. I really liked saint, Chad and Elle and I’m excited for book two

I don’t really know how to put into words why I couldn’t give this a higher rating. This book was super frustrating especially because it felt more like a prequel to the main event that will be fearless. The characters are in grade 9&10 for the majority of the book and we got to see all the backstory to how these characters end up in a very twisty and painful love triangle.

My first M M romance, and I'm quite thankful it was a book written by Ivy.

It all starts with best friends gaining another friend. A girl and a boy, and another boy. The older they get the more they start looking at each other diferently. There's jealousy involved, topt with angst but also yearning. They want more but are afraid to take too much.
The scenes were subtle but very vivid. Just the way I - newbie - needed them to be. By the end of Ruthless I found myself craving for more and more.

I can't wait to explore this world some more with Fearless.

Wow, I thought Snow’s love story was angsty but she and her guys have nothing on Elle, Chad and Saint. I’ve been wanting this story ever since reading the previous books and Ivy did not disappoint!

I loved getting to know Elle, Chad and Saint at a young age. It really helped develop these characters and their relationships with one another. I really liked Elle in Snow’s books but I fell in love with her in Ruthless. Elle is so incredibly selfless and always fights for what she believes is right. She’s strong and brave and doesn’t take crap from anyone. Her love for Chad is so strong and pure, she puts her own feelings aside just to be a good friend to him.

This book is so full of angst, I had a lump in my throat from all of the emotions being pulled from me. The writing is so good you can’t help but feel everything right alongside the characters. And even though I knew, I just KNEW Ivy was going to finish the book with a cliffhanger, I still was not prepared for that ending! Amazing start to Elle’s story and I cannot wait for book two!

"Elle is mine, and I am hers. It’s that fucking simple."

So while this is technically book 4 of The Privileged of Pembroke High series, this is Ellie, Chad, and Saint's story. If you are new to this series, like I am, it's not necessary. Such an easy story to follow.

I'm definitely not one to read triangles and have been completely corrupted (in the best possible way) by poly/RH themed books. However, I saw it was by Ivy Fox and I was like, 100% in. This one is definitely a guilty pleasure. I love how it is ACTUAL triangle. This story was actually incredible. I will admit, I wasn't hooked right away. It was a very slow build up. Then, EVERYTHING got a bit juicy. The angst, the drama, and Saint, had me hooked.

"He’s the guy you let corrupt you in every way imaginable. The one you fantasize about late at night when you’re restless and need a release. The name you call out in the dark when you fall over the precipice."

Saint, I loved him from the very beginning. When it came to Chad, the chemistry was already set in place. Now the hate between Elle and Saint, it's like fire and ice. But, when they're together 🥵, OMFG, you just really want it to work. Elle was a pretty strong h. Even though she had a rough life, she always would fix her crown and show who's boss. I loved she wasn't some typical elite princess. Chad, (this is pretty rare, given the name) but he was a really nice guy. I really liked his character. My hopes for the endgame in all of this is that it all turns into a HEA with a MMF situation. I'm going to be really sad if she actually has to choose (hense the reason I mainly avoid triangles). 😭

Honestly I was super excited for this book, I couldn’t wait to see if Elle, chad saint got together but I hated it. Elle’s personality is awful, chad is a massive coward the only character that was likeable was saint.

The level of miscommunication and how chad follows anything Elle says blindly is ridiculous, hoping the next book is much better

This book is everything I didn’t know I needed. I adored Elle, Chad and Saint’s beginnings. I think I may even like this duet better than the original trilogy.

I loved how the author started this duet from the very beginning. Not just of the trilogy but of the beginning of the friendship/relationship of the three. Being able to see how their emotions and relationships have changed over the years makes you think back to the glimpses you saw of them during the trilogy. It’s such a sweet but sort of tragic love story because there is so much confusion and misunderstandings about what is happening between them.

I have been dying to know what had happened between them while reading the original trilogy and finally knowing was so satisfying. The different storylines happening at the same time in this book are very well done. We get a bit of a reminder/see what they went through during the original trilogy but the story really is all about them.

I can’t wait to see this conclusion and I’m looking forward to the book released after this duet after seeing glimpses of Reid and Maya in this book.

Oh my poor heart is in so much turmoil after reading this book! Why is this a duet?? LOL Anyways, As I'm sitting here trying to write my thoughts about this book. Let me crack on with this review of Ruthless. Elle Grayson and Chad Murrphy have been best of friends since childhood and they were immediately drawn to each other and shared their secrets and thoughts. Chad the keeper of Elle's heart and vice versa. Anyways, the boy with anger management issues Saint is introduced the Chad in hopes to make a new friend. Chad introduces Elle to Saint and they immediately don't like each other. They have a mutual love hate for one another. Saint see how Chad will always priorities Elle first, he doesn't like that at all. Through the years Saint always becomes one of Chad's best friends. But, the feelings of Chad and Saint change and Elle realize something is changing but is waiting for Chad to finally claim her has his girlfriend. But, Chad is torned between his feelings for his heart or for someone who he desires with his whole being. Again, my heart ached for these three young people. They want love and to be someone first choice and not their 2nd choice. Just for warning the Epilogue of this book shattered my heart and I'm eager anticipating to know what will happen next.

I seriously couldnt wait to get my hands on Elle's (FMC) book. Ruthless takes part at the same time as her brothers - Roman, Ash and Ollie and Snow's trilogy before this duet. So it touches on that story and their characters pop up in this book too. Elle and Chad have had a long friendship. One that they havent delved into anything more. Even though they both have a mutual attraction. So when Saint comes in and disrupts that ha brings in another complication as well as and makes them all confront deep seated feelings that they all harboring.

Oh my god this love triangle certainly pulls you in. Elle and Saint have this love/hate relationship from the beginning. One at times is funny with all their banter. They definitely spark together. Whereas Chad is just a peacemaker and a genuine sweet guy. Even if he cant make a decision about Saint or Elle for love nor money. I understand why though. I did really love the three of them and with that ending im dying to get my hands on the last book now. This was one hell of a read

This is Eleanor Grayson's story and one I have been waiting for. We meet Eleanor, Chad & Saint in the previous trilogy, however they were more side characters.

Elle and Chad have been best friends for ever and have always been there for each other. Elle assumed she would always end up with Chad, Whenever something dark is going on in Elle's life, Chad is always there to lift her out of it. Chad met Saint through his mother who is a councellor and over the years the two of them have become best mates and with time their feelings started to develop towards each other.

Elle will fight to keep Chad to herself although it isn't as easy as she had hoped and along the way even though they hate each other there is some chemistry developing between the two of them.

This was a great read and cannot wait for the next chapter in this love triangle.

Ruthless is the first book focusing on Elle Grayson’s love triangle in The Privileged of Pembroke High series. This is a bully/enemy-to-lovers, new adult contemporary romance, full-length novel.

This was freaking awesome. I just loved the Privileged of Pembroke High series, and this just made me love it even more. So side note, it would definitely be wise to read those first. You will understand so much better.

I will say this for Ivy, she really nailed all the emotions in this story. You will feel so much emotions. Not to mention all the emotions the characters go threw. Hate, love, lust, confusion, and fear. So good, I am telling you. Kept my interest.

So to give you a quick run down Elle and Chad are two best friends that have been that way from a young age. Until Saint comes in the picture. So this sets up the chemistry and the angst for the book. Trust me you are going to not want to look away at this.

Well done Ivy and I need the second book asap!!!

I knew this was a story I was dying to read. I was attached to these characters when they were “baby characters” and we saw glimpses of them in POPH. I KNEW that when we finally got their story, it was going to be explosive. Let me say, it doesn’t disappoint. There’s SO much tension and STEAM between these three. They all three have baggage. Elle has her more obvious Grayson baggage, but Chad and Saint each have their own hangups too. It becomes more clear over time that none of them are innocent. They say all’s fair in love and war, but this battle isn’t one any of them really want to fight. It may be time for them to lay all their cards out on the table...

Ruthless is an unexpected pleasure and completely not the story that I had thought it would be when I first met these amazing characters in Holland's story. I imagined two boys, Chad and Saint fighting behind the scenes to gain the attention of the girl they love with all their heart and make her choose them over the other. Whilst most of that is true what is surprising is that it's not Chad and Sain fighting for Elle's attention ... It’s Elle and Saint fighting for Chad's attention. Both of them are ruthless and dark, willing to do whatever it takes to avoid a broken heart.

Little Elle Grayson is more formidable than she appears, every bit the visage of the perfect, tiny, delicate, fragile girl yet after growing up with 3 older brothers and her ruthless father she is anything but. Elle has a fiery temper, she's a spitfire, defeating her opponents mostly through words but thanks to Asher she also has some kind of fighting skill to back it up. Though we don't see much of her physical fighting skills, Elle strives to be perfect and the best at everything so I have no doubt she would be a force to be reckoned with.

Saint is Elle’s double, just as dark, just as ruthless, if they were truly friends they would be able to understand each other on deeper level. In terms of upbringing, Saint couldn’t be more different, think the Blind Side with a darker twist, he grew up in East River projects. But he’s smart, and capable enough to earn a scholarship, the school’s resident bad boy and yet he has such a soft, squishy side that is undoubtedly down to golden boy Chad.

Chad is boy next door type, easy going, approachable, the perfect golden retriever and is besotted with Elle until Saint comes along throwing a spanner into the works. His heart is torn in two, he wants them both but know he can’t have them both, he’s going to hurt one of them when he makes his choice which he is adamant it’s Elle but will he choose her?

Overall, this was an intense emotional read for me as we finally find out what happened in Aspen to drive the two best friends apart. There teenage drama, and angst and the epic love triangle that is bound of have some explosive consequences. In this heartbreaking read I felt my heart torn in two wanting both Elle and Saint to succeed in their endeavours and yet my heart would be equally as broken for the other if they did. That ending, however definitely pulls at the heart strings.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Welcome to Ellie Grayson's love triangle with Chad and Saint. I loved that in this book we got to go back and know all these character's from when they were younger. I really fell in love with Ellie in this book. This is one fearless, selfless young woman who always always fights for what she believes is right. She has had a thing for Chad since they were kids but she had to put her feeling for him aside and settle for being his best friend for the time being. Then you have Saint who is the devil himself and I must confess as hot as he is evil. And that is where the angst in this book comes from and it just melts off the pages of this book and your left with this big old lump in your throat at times. I was not expecting the ending we got and bout threw my kindle across the living room. I can't wait to read Fearless and find out what is going to happen.

Ruthless

I'm not gonna lie... My excitement to revisit this world and these characters I came to love in Snow and the Grayson's books definitely added to the expectations I had. While I knew partly what to expect, this book packed a mean punch for sure and I found myself balancing on that fine line between love and hate for these characters.
Don't get me wrong, this doesn't mean I dislike the book, because that would be a lie. The way this book is told, from all these characters POV makes it pretty much so that there is not one main lead, which in most cases would be the heroine. Elle Grayson shares the spotlight equally with Chad and Saint and I absolutely loved diving into their backgrounds and characters. From their appearances in previous books, I had put these characters on a pedestal, but Ivy Fox definitely showed that they too have many, many flaws and I have to begrudgingly admit that the level of teenage angst made me need a break while reading.

So that fine line between love and hate is exactly that. I love these characters a lot, they are heartachingly beautiful people, but damn, I was literally yelling at my kindle when they did something stupid because from their POV we just want them to grow together and be together . The journey however is a rocky road for sure.

Oh, Ivy. You did it to me this time. Elle, Saint, and Chad all have rigged so hard at my heart strings. Okay, let’s back up. First off, this is book 4 in the Pembroke High Series, and it REALLY does help if you read the first three books to learn and understand the characters better, BUT you can read this as a duet. Ivy has strung together another masterpiece with these three characters. Their dynamics change so much with the start of high school. Navigating a new school, friends, class, and new eye candy. Ivy does this thing where she pulls you in, has you fall hard for the characters and then boom, it ends and you’re yearning for more. The way this book ends gets me so freaking excited for the next!

Elle is one tough cookie. She has been dealt a pretty tough hand this round. Her family is on the outs, her best friend is not what he used to be, her brothers are being strange, and she doesn’t know where she fits in. Even worse, she’s getting feelings for the new kid, who is her arch enemy, Santiago. The twists and turns this book takes is such a rollercoaster. It has you gripping each page flipping so hard because you don’t know which direction it’ll take. I love ivy’s books for that reason. I highly recommend this book because you will surely fall in love with Elle, Saint, and Chad as much as I did!

Explosive and page turning!! I have been dying to read Ivy Fox!! The anticipation and wait totally did not disappoint!!!!

Through this entire story my heart was racing and I was completely enraptured by these characters. I need answers NOW!! So I can hardly wait for the next book to find out what happens on this roller coaster ride.

Chad and Elle have been best friends their entire lives and they have a bond that only gets stronger as they get older. The only thing, or more like person, that gets in the middle of their bond is Saint, a boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Saint stirs something completely different in both Chad and Elle, compassion in Chad and rage in Elle, but as much as he comes between them he also brings out sides in both of them that could make them stronger, if only they would open up to what Saint has to offer.

Ivy had a way of flushing out each character that I felt down to my soul; whether it was rage, sadness, lust, craving, confusion, etc...it was no wonder my heart was literally racing up to the very last page. I was there in the room with the characters because Ivy let me experience every heart racing moment.

I was constantly going back and forth between this triangle; who was going to end up with who, would they end up together, would someone get their heart broken? See, why my heart was beating so fast??

Ruthless ends on a big cliffhanger and I'm going to be waiting on bated breath until Fearless comes out and my questions get answered. Even though this is my first dive into Ivy's world I want to go back and read more, more, more.

ngl i’m kind of disgusted by how this triangle was supposed to have chad as the focus (how fucking brilliant would that have been) but then eleanor deftly manipulated it into being all about her and her hellcat she-devil whateverness specialness

also cannot unsee the whole latino guy almost in a gang, bunch of tattoos, dad in prison, from the wrong side of the tracks stereotype. i’m like. i cannot unsee it. just like how the first three had the south american bear the brunt of the rapist ALL FUCKING ALONE while the pale white (because white can be not pale too apparently) girl obviously got to go through a lesser evil comparatively, what with three hot guys prepared to go to war for her

anyway i feel like chad’s been shafted just for the sake of the loathsome mary sue

how do they talk like they’re forty and ten at the same time

four betas and one proofreader (if this is the post-check novel…) and YET

I think I’m just really indignant at Eleanor suddenly becoming the centre when the book started out with Chad as the object of two desires. It would have been SO GOOD

Wow....i loved this book so much! I didn't think i could ever love characters in this series as much as Rome, Ollie and Asher (from books 1-3) however Chad and Saint have stolen my heart completely!
Right from the start i could tell this would be an emotional, angst filled roller coaster and i was so right. The chemistry between both Chad and Saint was so intense and steamy, yet also it had an innocent and sweet edge to it, some of the scenes between them even had my cheeks flushing, then when you added the fiery Elle Grayson to the mix, you literally had the best fireworks ever! This is definitely a love triangle you wont forget in a while!

I cannot wait to see where Ivy takes this in book two, i think we were always going to get that ending at some point in the storyline and i cant wait to see what happens next!

This is the 4th book in this awesome series and the 1st about Elle, Chad, and Saint. Elle and Chad have been best friends since childhood and know each other secrets and thoughts, and when Chad introduced Saint, to Elle, they hate each other on sight. As their feeling change over the years their dynamics change in their relationship. Elle is strong and brave, and she fights for what she believes in, and Chad is torn by his feelings, and Saint has anger management issues. This is a brilliant story which is well written and flawless, and is filled with angst, emotions, turmoil, intrigue, secrets, thought provoking, heartwrenching, and with humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to an entertaining and all-consuming riveting page turner. I cannot wait to read the next part of this phenomenal series, and I highly recommend this talented authors’ work.

It’s been a while since I’ve been in the world of the Graysons!

I always liked Elle in the previous books so I was excited to read about her /Chad / Saint! Was always wondering what the hell was going on with them and now I know! Wow.

The book for me, initially, was very slow. It was mostly all of being in their heads and it just seemed to drag on. Once I actually got to the interaction it was better.

It’s interesting to see Saint and Elle basically fighting for Chad! It brings the the whole “hate your boyfriend bff” to a whole new light. Lol. Chad is much “softer” than I imagined too. He’s so non-confrontational and weak when it comes to either of them. He’s always trying to make the peace and it’s downright annoying at times.

Can’t wait to see what happens with these three!

Hearts Devastated

I've been waiting for the love triangle that is Elle, Chad, and Saint! If you've read the first three books in the series, then you've been waiting and wondering what exactly happened during Thanksgiving break? Wondering, is he? How is it all going to plan out?

Opens into Elle's and Chad's past, giving heartbreaking clarity of her life with views of her father and mother. Plus, how the duo came to have Saint in their lives. Lots of fill in the moment chapters riddled through as the author creates their stage.

The push and pull between their dynamics was sweetly written as they started to test their wants and desires. Never crossing the line, but crossing lines until devastating their hearts.

TITLE: Ruthless
GENRE: New Adult Romance
AUTHOR: Ivy Fox
TROPE: Enemies to Lovers, High School Romance
TYPE: Series (The Privileged of Pembroke High #4)
POV: Multiple POV
MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

Oh, the love triangle angst that is the story of Elle, Chad and Saint! Ruthless is part of a series, but you can start book four without issues. The storyline has a slow build, starting when the characters are at a young age when they first meet, but it does gather momentum towards the end leading up to a cliffhanger. I have enjoyed this series so far and the range of characters. There is some M/M romance in this triangle, but I think the storyline is written well in a style or pace that I would expect in real life.

Uh wow

Okay so this book deserves a warning I think, it's emotional and it described children falling in love after a deep friendship, but children, who experiment with each other and all the angst that comes with that, and throw in the mix a third party and the party is complete.

It's not fade to black you get to experience every detail while they explore and break apart, mentally and physically, and the way its been written is amazing. Sometimes with the way they speak and even think you forget that they are 15, 16 and then 17. But you finally learn the reason why Elle and Chad came back out of sorts after going skiing in Aspens.

I can't wait to read the next installment!

After reading the first three books. I craved to read more on these characters. The bad boy, the best friend, and the lucky girl to be in the middle of it all.

If you have followed their journey only getting behind the scenes, well this baby here fills in the blanks. It was amazing. I couldn’t put it down. The ups and downs, their emotional roller coaster you just wanted to help them through it all.

I love that we get everyone’s POV so we truly know what’s going on. This two book series is everything. The angst, the build up, this book makes every moment they spend getting to their HEA worth it.

this is the 4th book in the pembroke series and this time its Elle's turn. We got to see her in the other books and I am so glad she has got her own book, as she is a strong, confident female who has a good relationship with her best friend Chad. However that changes a little when Santiago joins the school. This book has some heartbreaking moments and it all gets a bit torn. Will they all come out in one piece? This book runs along side the other 3 books. This book is very well written and with a simply amazing plotline that flows off the pages. I just cannot wait to see what happens next.

Omg this book!!

I cannot express enough words to say just how good this book was. I'm still floored. I'm all for everything RH, but when you through that angst up in there that's an explosion waiting to happen. Elle and Chad have been hers, since she was 6 and claimed him as hers and life was good growing up until Santiago (Saint) was a part of his worls. That's all I'm saying you'll just need to read this and find out, because this book did not disappoint.

I'm still upset with that ending ugh now I have to wait on Bk2.

bit boring

Apart love triangle , there’s nothing else going on in this book. Chad is playing with both of them even though he knows he’s hurting them, and Saint with Ellie keep blaming each other even though it’s Chad who should be blamed for playing with them. I really don’t like that a lot of scenes in this book is where they are 15-16 and it involves sexual content and also drugs, I feel those scenes should’ve been left for later years. I put off reading this as I remember book 1-3 had some ‘fluff’ and droned on. When chapter 1 started with no dialogue I didn’t have high hopes however that soon changed and I was hooked!! I haven’t been so obsessed with a book in a long time but this one was exactly what I needed. I loved all the main characters for different reasons they all are so unique and bring something special to the relationship. Elle, Chad and Saint have such a dynamic and the angst was through the roof. I was so sucked in to the emotions and heartbreak of the rollercoaster they were on.

Brilliant beginning

Ruthless from @ivyfoxauthor is the first book in Elle's love story.  And it definitely starts off with a bang.  I was ecstatic to find out Elle was getting her own duet.  I loved her in Holland's trilogy.  She is someone you definitely want in your corner! This book was filled with heartbreak, angst, and some smoldering chemistry between Elle, Chad, and Saint.  I definitely can't wait for book 2 to see them fall deeper for each other.
