Betrayed by a man who should have protected her and their unborn child, Harriet is on the run from a fanatical sect and a ruthless railway tycoon. All she wants is a place to hide, and if it means having to take a husband who will never love her, it is a price she is prepared to pay.

The author has penned a sweet and heartwarming story that is somewhat different and one full of human frailties which includes danger, bitterness, mistrust, fear and romance . This is Harriet and Boyd's story. Harriet is running from a fanatical commune that she has been part of since she was adopted as an orphan at the age of 10, as well as an evil railroad tycoon. Boyd has been disappointed in love and upon meeting Harriet agrees to a marriage of convenience only. Harriet in an effort to protect her unborn baby agrees. Overtime will Boyd's feelings change and will the couple develop a loving relationship and reach a HEA? Will Harriet and her baby be safe in the wilds of Colorado? Be sure to read this wonderful story to find out. I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Carrier's Heartache

Margaret Tanner has penned another great story. Harriet had lived in a commune most of her life, after being adopted by the Grand Master. Her husband and she escaped, but once they were back in civilization, her husband abandoned her. She is pregnant and alone, when she runs into Mrs. Crenshaw, who sets her up as a mail order bride. When she arrives at the ranch, she realizes her groom doesn't want to marry again. Read this book to find out what happens and if Harriet will ever be loved.

Great book.

This was such a great book to read. The hard times of living with a husband who was not really your husband and not knowing that. Harriet took a chance when she left Denver to look for Boyd's ranch on the off chance that he would merry her to keep her and her unborn baby safe. Boyd has sworn off women because of what his first wife has done to him. These two are so unlikely to call in love. You know the saying opposites attract. Very good rad

Remarkable

I enjoyed the story of Harriet and Boyd, although it had a lot of tragedy, heartbreak, and betrayal in it. It was there fierce determination to not find love, it found them. Heartwarming and enduring with love, romance and kidnapping to murder. This story has it all. Love this series so much. I loved the twist of adding the commune to this story as it was not talked about then nor now.

Hurt, bewildered and betrayed

Both Harriet and Boyd have seen the worst of humanity, they have been lied to, taken advantage of and left heartbroken and unable to trust.
The tentative agreement they come to and the gradual trust they begin to build warms your heart and is very sweet.
A lovely read on Kindle Unlimited.

Mail Order Bride Romance

This Mail-order Bride Romance is so different from the others I've read. It starts off in a commune. The girl and her husband want to leave and begin life somewhere else. They steal away in the hot day tome to keep them from being discovered. Once they reach town the story truly begins. Watch and see what happens. I loved this book and hope you will too. Margaret Tanner what a vivid imagination you have. Thanks for sharing your story 😊!!!!!

Harriett and her second chance

What a story! Poor, sweet, tender hearted Harriett endured so much. I don’t want to give any spoilers, so take my word for it….read this book! And the epilogue is so sweet and lovely after all that had previously transpired 💞💐

I always enjoy this author’s work!

Great Read

Enjoyed the faster paced read. Harriet a good, strong female character. Boyd quick to acknowledge his growing affection. Second chances abound. Like that there is follow-up to less than admirable characters and their outcome.

This is another very enjoyable book from one of my favorite authors, Margaret Tanner. As usual, the book pulled me in from the beginning which I love. Awesome storyline, one I haven't read before. With the well thought characters and the surprises along the way, I was completely entertained for a couple of hours. Recommend. JudyE

This story went in so many directions.

This was the first reading about a commune. Didn't expect how they had to escape from there. Ben was a greedy self-serving animal. Harriet deserved a better life than one with Ben.

I'm cured of reading mail-order bride stories after this one. Not my favorite! Another problem I had with this book was the poor editing. Too many sentences that were run-on or fragments.
