My “to-do” list just fell into the hands of the man I hate the most.
As if it isn’t hard enough trying to finish college. Now I have my tormentor offering to help me complete my goals. Including losing my V-card. Talk about embarrassing. All he asks in return is that I tutor him so he can keep playing hockey. Easy enough. I can keep feelings out this deal. After all, I hate the pompous jerk… Or, at least, I did... Until one kiss leads to the most incredible night of my life. Now I’m torn between my present and my future. The man who once brought out my ire now owns my heart. But will our hopes and dreams pull us down different paths? Or can this summer fling become something more?

Lila and Alexi have crushed on each other since their freshman year. They were in different circles and didn’t meet properly until just before graduation. When Lila’s ‘summer bucket list’ falls into Alexi’s hands he knows just how they can both get what they want. This was a great fast paced read. They storyline was real and the characters had great chemistry. Lila was quiet and studious and Alexia was an outgoing and fun loving hockey player. Each helped the other become their better selves. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
WOW!! I absolutely love this book!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read, with a really wonderful HEA!
Alexei meets Lila when they are freshmen in college, but they only have a few classes together. They don't hang out together but see each other over the next four years, but have crushes on one another. Lila lets her roommate know she has a list of things she wants to get done before graduating in a few weeks. When Lila's roommate Ashley invites her to an end of the semester party she goes. At the party she runs into Alexei making out with one of his many friends with benefits, but he's trying to push the girl away, he doesn't want to hook up with her. Alexei found out he needs to ace his final in one of his classes or he's not going to graduate. Lila goes back to her apartment to study when she get a text from a friend back home. She's texting her friend for a while when she receives a text from Alexei, she asks him how he got her number, he tells her from her roommate. When Alexei shows up at her door for their study date he tells her she looks terrible, then offers to take her swimming instead. He gets her something to drink and it helps her, they head to lake to cross out skinny dipping off her list. Alexei strips his clothes and jumps in, when he sees Lila hesitate he tells her to come in with her bathing suit on, she does then she strips it off. They begin kissing but this is not were Alexei wants to take her virginity. The next day Lila shows up at Alexei place and he cooked her dinner, he asks her if she's hungry. She can't believe he made dinner for her. When they sit down to eat he tells her he wants to talk to her, he tells her he want to apologies for last night. He tells her he really likes her, he has feelings for her, ever since freshman year. That's not how he wanted their first time to be, she asks him how does he want it to be and he tells her to let him show her. Alexei asks Lila if she is sure and she tells him she is, she liked him too since freshman year. Alexei sits in his class waiting on his final paper to be returned from his professor. When he gets his paper he can't believe he receives an A, he so excited to show Lila he almost runs into her walking out of class. She tells him she stopped by to see how he did, when he tells her how he did she tells him they need to celebrate. Back at Alexei place he tells her he could get use to this, he talks to her about their future. Lila is headed to Philadelphia for grad school and she tells Alexei he is headed into play hockey. Alexei tells her he's never felt like this before with anyone else, he tells her he's falling in love with her. Lila tells him she loves him too, but long distance relationships don't work. He tells her he doesn't want to say goodbye to her, and she tells him she doesn't either. Lila tells him they have to there no happy ever after for them. When Alexei phone chimes he grabs it, it's his mom they landed at the airport and are on their way to the hotel. Alexei tells Lila he needs to go pick up his parents. Alexei tells her that the distance doesn't matter, they can make it work, she agrees with him. When Lila's parents arrive they all go out for dinner, she just pushes her pasta around her plate. Her parents ask her what's wrong but she tells them nothing. Alexei comes to introduce himself as her friend and he introduces his parents. Her mother and sister go to get ice cream, so Lila is left with her father. Her father tells her he knows what it's like, she asks him what. Her father tells her he knows what being is love is like. She tells her dad it's never going to work, her dad wants to know why. Lila tells her dad everything, he tells her once you find love you fight for it. Alexei and Lila meet at his place and make love, he tells her he still hasn't decided on a team yet. The next day they get ready for graduation, Lila crosses the stage getting her diploma first, then it's Alexei turn. Lila waves through the crowd looking for her parents, when Alexei spots her and pulls her aside. He tells her this shouldn't be the end of them, he wants a future with her, he loves her. Alexei tells her he wants her in his life, they can figure this out. Lila tells him she loves him too. Alexei tells her he met with the New York team, he tells her he's going to New York and that's not far from Philly. She asks him if he's sure about this, and he tells her more than he's ever wanted anything. Lila tells him that they can give this a shot. Somehow someway they'll make it work. Five years later, Lila is now a physical therapy for the same team that Alexei is playing. Lila comes home to their penthouse, she doesn't notice him standing next to the table. The whole dinning room is covered in rose petals, candle on each side, and soft music is playing. Alexei yells surprise to Lila, she asks what's all this. He asks her if she knows what day it is. She tells him it's Tuesday, he tells her it's the anniversary of when she sent him her to do list before graduation. He tells her if she hadn't of sent him that text none of this would have ever happened. He would have gone to New York without getting to know her, she is the most important thing to ever happened to him. Alexei goes down on one knee and she asks him if he's asking her what she thinks he is. He tells her if she thinks he's going to ask her to marry him than yeah. He pulls the ring from his pocket and asks her if she'll make it official. Lila leaps off the chair flinging her arms around him and peppers him with kisses. She tells him it's a deal and they made it work!

It loses a star because I think the description was pretty misleading. It very much implies a bullies/enemies to lovers trope and it is very much not. And I wouldn’t really call him the alpha type. He’s not really possessive or grumpy. Honestly, I’d say he’s closer to the golden retriever than the alpha type.
First of all, she doesn’t hate him at all. Never did really. She was unhappy to see him with other girls but even her friends knew she always had a crush on him for years. And he isn’t her tormentor at all. He has also had a crush on her four years. They’ve never acted on it because they both think the other person is too smart/popular/whatever to be into them. So, they’ve actually hardly spoken.
In fact the first time they are alone together in four years is a party where he offers her a drink and she immediately implies he’s a manwhore.
He gets her number from her friend and is pretty nice to her. Wanting to make sure she made it home safely and tries to start a conversation. She stops responding because she doesn’t get why he’s talking to her. She later accidentally sends him the list instead of a friend and he is actually really respectful about it. He doesn’t respond to the message or tell anyone. And the description almost seems to imply blackmail of some kind, like he’ll share the list if she doesn’t go along with it or something. But that’s not it at all. He doesn’t even tease her about it. He simply offers her a deal where they help each other. He’s also pretty open about how he’s struggling and needs her help with tutoring. And as soon as she stops insulting him, he stops verbally sparing back and is very complimentary of her.
The description also implies that she didn’t like him until the kiss. But she really enjoyed tutoring him. And she was really enjoying her time with him and his friends before the kiss. Even going so far as saying everyone should have someone like him to go partying with them because of how fun he is. Again that was prekiss.
And lastly though kind of petty and wouldn’t even bring up if I had already felt a bit misled at this point, can it really be a summer romance if it all gets resolved before summer break/term even starts?
So, while I did enjoy it overall as a short, sweet read with fairly minimal angst and no real miscommunication issues. I wish the description had been more accurate.
First love is incredibly sweet. Alexei and Lila met freshman year of college but ran in different circles. They both felt attraction toward each other yet felt like there would never be a chance for them. As they near graduation, a text goes awry and manages to bring them together. Their story is written in first person from a dual POV. I really enjoyed this shorter romance. This author always does an excellent job of delivering a full, well-developed story and characters regardless of the book length. There is some humor, the awe of first love, some steam, and the angst of moving from college and into adult decisions. And more than anything, readers feel the growing up that take place as they both make the decision to fight for love. I love their connection. Both characters are likable as they navigate into adulthood. I adore the epilogue, which makes it clear they did find their HEA and not just a HFN. This was a sweet read that reminded me of the feelings that come with falling hard that first time. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.
Part of the multi-author Boys of Summer series, Mika Jolie's Alpha Boy is absolutely fabulous. A well-written, steamy and sweet college romance that you cannot put down. Alexei is about to graduate and get to play pro hockey for the team of his choice, except there is one course that could put a stop to that if he doesn't get a good grade on the final exam. Lila is getting ready to graduate and head to medical school, but the studious young woman has a bucket list to get through over the summer - and it includes losing her virginity. When she inadvertently sends Alexei a copy of her list, he has a proposition for her: if she will tutor him and help him pass his exam, he will help her check off ALL of the items on her list. Alexei and Lila are both well-developed, engaging characters, and you cannot help but fall in love with both of them from the very beginning. The fact that the chemistry between them is scorching hot doesn't hurt, either! This is a quick-paced, entertaining love story that will put a huge smile on your face.

I loved this book. Who doesn’t love a sexy college romance? I was hooked the minute Lila revealed her “summer bucket list.” I loved the chemistry between Lila and Alexei
Lila is a quiet straight A bookworm -her head is always stuck in a book, but she has a list of things she wants to do before she graduated from college. Alexei is the college stud. A hot hockey player -a playboy. He accidentally gets a hold of Lila summer bucket list, so he promised to help her checked things off her list if she tutored him for finals. A win for both of them, or is it? When feelings comes into to play, Lila realised that her perception of Alexei is far from accurate. Serious decisions will have to be made.
ALPHA BOY is charmingly delightful. It is quick and passionate. The characters are engaging and the story is spectacular! I found it to be a very entertaining read.
Lila and Alexei meet in college and after an accidental text with her bucket list attached, they become study partners. He needs study help to graduate and she needs help with her list. It is a very quick time period to becoming what they both want forever. Lila is going to Graduate School for Physical Therapy and Alexei is heading for pro Hockey. Plenty of career and location conflicts hinder the relationship but they decide to keep pushing on. Loved her dad and his always watching attitude and good advice. Lila and Alexei are a powerhouse of feelings and emotions, tied up with unknown futures. The friends and family are so supportive and close. This is one story that I plan to reread. Well done.

Alexei and Lila met in their freshman year of college. Lila is quiet and spends her time in the library studying as she is going into med school to be a PT. Alexei is an outgoing, popular guy on campus and plays hockey. He just found out that if he doesn't pass a class he can't walk in graduation so he has to find a tutor. Lila is turning 21 and has a bucket list of things she wants to do before she leaves college and thinking she has emailed that list to her friend, it goes to Alexei. So he promises to help her check things off her list if she tutors him. What could go wrong? Will her impression of him change? Feelings/attraction and heavy decisions to be made.
What happens when a certain text gets sent to the wrong person. Lila created a bucket list of things she wanted to do before she graduated college. She was texting with a long time friend when she accide try sent the list to Alexie the star hockey player at their college. What happens next is what storybooks are made of. He volunteers to help her with her bucket list if she will tutor him. The issue is that they both have had crushes on each other since freshman year and never acted on it until now. What will happen? Will they end up together in the end? Read along to find out and experience their blossoming love.

And while Lila was texting her bestfriend Mayra from home she was also responding to Alexei . Mayra ask Lila what her Summer to-do list is and Lila screen shot the list thing she send it to Mayra but it went to Alexei. Good storyline with a happy ending .

I loved Lila and Alexei! A hockey jock and a bookworm are not a likely pair, but Lila and Alexei had such an easy connection. I loved their banter too.
Lila had a bucket list to finish before she graduated, and Alexei needed to pass a big final so he could graduate. It seems simple enough for them to help each other out, right? Except, Lila keeps wondering what Alexei sees in her, when he could have any girl with just a crook of a finger. It couldn't be because he's had a crush on her, just as she did on him, right?
Does this unlikely pair have a chance at happy ever after? This was a very enjoyable novella from Mika Jolie that I read in one sitting.
Lola is a book work always has a book never party girl until her roommates gets her out to a party and she sees the guy she has had a crush on since college. She talks to him at the party but leaves and his to the dorm. Alexei text her to make sure she made it home ok she was texting another friend and sent her list to Alexei he meet her the next day and stuck a deal she helps him with his class he is failing and he will help her with her list. They end up falling in love and graduating he plays hockey while she is a P T therapist they get their happy ever after
This book is full of the love story of Lila and Alexei. Man these two are so opposite of each other but the attraction is there for both of them. I so loved how these two keep running into each other. I so loved that Lila gives it a chance and is happy now and gets to live in her fairytale love she secretly has always had on Alexei and he gets to have the one woman he has been crushing on since the every beginning.

He's a pompous hockey jock with dreams of joining the NY Cobras. She's a straight-A student on her way to medical school and to study PT. But when she accidentally sends him her list of things to do before med school- including the activity of losing her V-card- all bets are off the table. Especially when Alexei promises to help Lila with her list in return for helping him pass Anatomy and Physiology to graduate.
Can these two just stick to the deal and make it to graduation? Or will both fall in love and fail each other's hearts?
This was a cute short story of a straight laced college girl Lila, that turned 21 who created a bucket list and also, a hopeful future pro hockey player that’s in danger of not graduating. They have been attracted to each other since freshmen year but never bothered to act on it, thinking they have nothing in common. Can they find a way to help each other? I was sucked in from the very start of this book and didn’t put it down until it was finished. Mika has such a talent of drawing you into the story! A feel good read!
4.5 Stars I thought that this was an awesome book. I really liked Alexei and Lila together. These two have had crushes on each other for 4 years but they run in different social circles and both thought thought that there was no way that the other would be into them. I really liked the chemistry and connection between these two. There is a little bit of drama but these two get a really sweet HEA. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it and Ms. Mika as a great author.

Accidently sending your bucket list to your crush with Loose V-card as item number four is going to leave severe mental scarring. The humiliation alone would be crippling. Unless the aforementioned crush expresses an interest in helping you tick off all your boxes. it's a short read but spicy and fun. A couple that would likely have never gotten out of their own way to be together if the list hadn't brought them close. A very cute read!

Lila is about to graduate and has had a crush on hockey player and popular guy Alexei. She has a list she wants to finish before she graduates and accidentally texts it to him. He agrees to help her complete her list if she tutors him for finals. Can they find a way to stay together after graduation? Great story and author.

Alpha Boy is a sweet, hot, and sexy college romance that’ll make you swoon! Alexei and Lila have liked each other since their first year in college. But not until now, with graduation looming, do they officially meet and find out that they need each other in more ways than one. Their struggles to find a way to stay together no matter what the future holds leads to a very happy ever after!
I liked the innocent has a crush on the hot jock, a fun read with witty banter and humor between the main characters. I liked how Alexei was his true self when around Lila, she brought out the best in him, and he gave her the confidence to have fun and let her guard down. A great novella of young love and facing the challenge to carry on and stand up to all the odds of an unexpected relationship.

What a good addition to the "Boys of Summer" reads. The series is a multi-author collection of stand alone reads. This on is about Lila and Alexi who have secretly had crushes for the other since their freshman year. Now in their senior year her bucket list falls into his hands. What a great twist of events! This is a fast paced story that is a fairly short and quick read. It is fun with some sexy and sweetness to it. The plot is interesting and nicely developed.
Alexei and Lila are complete opposites but they are so great for each other. She's studious and he plays hockey. When Lila accidentally sends Alexei a list of things she wants to do before leaving college he promises to help her with her list if she'll tutor him. This is a fun, opposites attract, love story with likable characters and a great addition to the Boys of Summer series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Alexei is a college jock and Lila is a quiet and studious girl. They have both liked each other for years but neither has made a move. Now he needs her help in tutoring him for a class, in return he offers to help her with her summer bucket list. Will things remain casual or will proximity brings their feelings forward?

Hockey star Alexei is failing two classes he needs to graduate.Lila is the book worm who haunts the library. They noticed each other in their first year but never connected till just weeks before graduation. She accidentally texted him and he shyly asks if she'll help him study in exchange for his helping her accomplish stuff. They shouldn't work as a couple but it was a fun read. Love conquers all story.

This was cute and sweet and a sort of coming of age story. I loved how Alexei didn’t shy away from his feelings for Lila once he expressed them and pushed for them to be together. While I don’t think the story goes with the summer theme the cover and title were going for, I couldn’t put this down. It flowed well and had no drama from outside forces.
This was a great Novella about 2 college students who are opposites but have been attracted to each other since freshman year. Both have goals to meet before graduation in a couple of weeks and figure out they have feelings for each other. This was a sweet story and I really loved meeting Alexie and Lila and hope to see them in future books.
This is such a mushy-gushy, sweet, romantic book. First love always makes you see stars and Ms. Jolie wrote another amazing book, this time it's Alexei & Lila's story. The characters were so perfect for one another. Their chemistry was palpable and the passion was off-the-charts! A super story, a snuggly, sweet HEA and an absolute must read!!
This was a super cute opposites attract romance. I really loved this story. It was so cute and it just drew me in right from the beginning. Alexei and Lila had both been interested in the other since freshman year but hadn’t done anything about it, a chance encounter and a text changes everything.
The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Lila and Alexei and does not let go. They have a connection but neither believes that the other could possibly want them. What will it take for the truth to come out?

Absolutely loved this incredible story in.the Boys of Summer series. Lila and Alexei have both had feelings for each other. Lila and Alexei are about to graduate so when Lila sets out to finish her bucket list, Alexei offers his help in returns for helping him pass his class. A great story with a wonderful happily ever after.
