Would you date your ex-girlfriend? Charity's girlfriend blocked her number without explaining why. After getting ghosted by the woman she considered the love of her life, Charity struggled to mend her broken heart. A year after the sudden break-up, Charity bumps into her ex-girlfriend at the mall. She’s surprised to see how good Parker looks and that’s probably why, against her better judgment, agrees to go on a date with her.
4 stars. A sexy second chance romance novella between Charity and her ex Parker. I liked both characters quite a bit. They had great chemistry and I am an absolute sucker for a second chance. The writing was good and the steam is hot as hell. This was extremely short but was a damn good read and it left me wanting more by the end.
This was fine. It is a short story, so I never expect much, although sometimes you are surprised. It was spicy as expected and didn’t disappoint on that front, although it wasn’t anything special or outstanding. This one made the mistake of trying to do too much with the page count given and ending up falling flat as a result. There was an attempt at establishing a backstory and a conflict and a second-chance reconciliation (not really spoilers, read the title!), and as a result everything was very rushed (an understatement). You shouldn’t bother spending a significant chunk of your page count setting up a conflict if it will be resolved in a single sentence. This would likely be a good outline for a full-length novel, but it didn’t do much for me as it is.
