This book is another fantastic read! I love the adventures. Max is such a positive role model. A busy body, Max is always on the go and doesn't like sitting around doing nothing. I like that she looks up to geniuses for inspirations. I like how Max thinks on her feet and implement what she has to protect herself from the bad guys like using the cheeseburgers as a weapon. Since this book is the second in the series, readers get a chance to know more about other CMI team members. Klaus is definitely an interesting fella!

This book is told in the third person point of view following Maxine (Max), 12 physics prodigy, as she attempted to sneak out of her secure home. This secure home with 2 bodyguards was provided by Ben Abercrombie, the 14 years old billionaire and CMI's benefactor who insisted that Max lives here for her safety because the bad guys from The Corp wanted to kidnap her. This book continues from book one where Max should stay home to lay low while waiting for the next big Change Makers Institute (CMI) mission. Max is very smart. She teaches college students at Columbia University and participate with other international intelligent kids in CMI projects that focus on making the world a better place. This year the CMI team are going to Ireland and India to solve water contamination problem.

Max Einstein: Rebels with a Cause is very well written and a fast paced read! I love learning more about Einstein and his quotes. I love how math & science is utilized to apply to real life crisis and made easier to understand. An example is the situation at the party: Tisa using baking soda with vinegar to create carbon dioxide gas and then mix it with hot peppers to use as a weapon. I know about the mixture but I don't know that the combination is called carbon dioxide gas and to learn it in an adventure book is much easier to comprehend! I like the topic of clean water crisis in this story because it's such an important basic needs of human. Robots are interesting to get to know and I do recommend everyone to read this book.

Pro: fast paced, page turner, adventure, math & science, robots, Ireland, India, water

Con: none

I rate it 5 stars!

This is even better than the first book. Since all the characters and the world have already been set up, all that's left is to jump right in with Max and the rest of the genius kids.
There's plenty of action, lots of easy to understand science, and a solid social conscience message.
Definitely something I'd give to any kid to read.

I know that societal problems need to be looked at differently because if you try to solve them with solutions you have always used; you fit Einstein's theory of stupidity.

Max Einstein-James Patterson și Chris Grabenstein

Rebeli cu o cauză -volumul 2
#vârsta10+

I didn't really find Max Einstein particularly fascinating beyond the fact that she is a genius and wants to do good things for the world. Her character in this book to me wasn't any more developed than in the first book. Actually, all of the characters felt a bit flat to me, and the ending was a bit rushed. I categorize this as mind cotton candy.

The first book in the series may have had something going for it, this one however was as alluring as a cup of curdled milk that has been sitting in 100 degree temperature for sixteen hours.

This is the second volume in the entertaining series for middle school readers that features Max, a 12-year-old girl genius who admires and emulates Albert Einstein. She and her fellow genius pals band together again to solve environmental problems in Ireland and India, all while being pursued by a bad guy who wants to bring Max over to his bad side. Although it is a bit out there in terms of logic and practicality, the story is fun and educational. I enjoy the references to Einstein and his work, the many quotes scattered throughout the story, and the bonus information on Gandhi. Strong series that I hope actual middle schoolers are reading.

Przyznam potrzebowałam takiej prostej i zarazem świetnej książki .

Zimm, oorspronkelijk althans. Hun principe is ongebreidelde hebzucht.

Znacie Max Einstein? Jeśli nie, to uwierzcie mi, powinniście znać! To jedna z najlepszych postaci w literaturze dziecięcej, jaka kiedykolwiek powstała. Sprytna i wybitna dwunastoletnia fizyczka, fanka Alberta Einsteina absolutnie podbiła moje serce.

Bierze udział w tajnych misjach, wymyśla genialne wynalazki i rozmawia z Albertem Einsteinem.

To naprawdę czadowe!

The second book in the Max Einstein series doesn't exactly pick up where we've left off but time hasn't moved on too much. Max is now a guest lecturer at Colombia University campus and living with a bunch of students. I know it's a kid's book but a 12-year-old teaching college students? This is a universe that requires a massive suspension of disbelief.

Just like in the previous instalment, there's a lot of science-based facts and plenty of Albert Einstein fanboy-ing. It's as fast-paced and frenetic as the first book and lacks any real depth. The story moves along at such a pace that the work Max and her team are doing becomes overlooked. If these books are meant to be inspiring the next generation of scientists, they need to start putting more emphasis on science and not the action.

In this book, Max and her friends are still trying to outsmart the mysterious Corporation. They're evil but it's never been fully established why. This time they have a super-intelligent AI called Leonard. He's a humanoid robot in the guise of a 12-year-old boy. A formidable foe. Well, not really. Luckily Maxy-Sue is so talented that she can beat the unbeatable robot. Without any effort. It's kind of disappointing that nothing ever challenges her.

Again, I know we're dealing with a book for younger readers but there's no real innovation here. It's all very by the book and unoriginal. As if they wanted to come up with the simplest plot possible and then just add some scientific theories and some Einstein quotes. The writing doesn't do anything exciting and l the pacing is doing a lot of work to make up for the lack of narrative interest.

I'm sure younger readers will enjoy it but I also doubt that they'll find a new favourite in Max Einstein. She's not a particularly lovable character and doesn't have a great deal of personality. Her personality is just liking Albert Einstein. It just wears thin very quickly. It's a fine book but not a future classic.

Check out my full review on my blog: https://thereadingsofanenglishteacher...

Max Einstein: Rebels with a Cause is the second book in the Max Einstein series. I gave a really brief summary of the first book in this blog post last year. I have really enjoyed this series because of it's focus on a teen girl who loves STEM which isn't something you see a lot in middle-grade/YA literature. I think that it is a great series for teen girls who don't see women representatives in STEM in their own lives and might be passionate about pursuing it in the future.

Max Einstein: Rebels with a Cause picks up a little while after the first book ends. The child prodigy, Max Einstein, is now undercover hiding from the Corp, an evil organization bent on stopping Max and her friends from bettering the world through their talents. Luckily, Max always seems to be just one step ahead of them as she travels across the globe. In this book, the focus for her and her team is providing clean water access wherever they can. But will the Corp finally catch up with her?

Honestly, this series has a really simple plot. It's not meant to be something super complicated or have twist endings. You basically know what is going to happen from the beginning. But it's a nice heartfelt story. Max and her friends genuinely want to help people and they use their smarts to do so. It's pretty straightforward.

But that's not to say that there aren't interesting things in this book. I love all of the characters. They've got fun personalities even though some of them are stereotypical. There is also the mystery surrounding who Max Einstein is. Raised in an orphanage, she doesn't know where she came from, who her parents are, or why she is such a genius. I'm hoping that maybe some of those questions will be answered in the next book.

My name is Max Einstein, and I am the smartest twelve-year-old in the world. Unfortunately, Dr. Zimm of the Corp wants to capture me, so I can help his organization make evil weapons and more money than they'll ever need. It's clear that I'm no longer safe in New York, so Ben (teenage billionaire and head of CMI) has flown my team over to Ireland to help the people of Siobhan's hometown. It's what we do. People in the town have become seriously ill from drinking tainted well water, so we need to figure out a sustainable way to solve the problem. When we're done here, I hear there's another water issue across the planet. It seems there's a shortage of water, and local officials are using the situation to make money off the citizens.

Well, here's another series where I didn't start by reading the first book. It will probably appeal to a select audience of middle grade readers. While the conflicts were big and important to the world, they didn't create much tension in the plot. I didn't get a sense of urgency as I read, and the obstacles were easily overcome. Some readers might be turned off by the many references to science, physics, and Einstein, although I enjoyed them. The group of kid geniuses used science and technology to resolve the problems, so the solutions were realistic and feasible. Including a team member who wanted to replace Max as leader added an amusing angle to some events. The other team members didn't take him seriously, but the situation added a twist to a climax. Overall, this was a fun book that can be enjoyed by many young readers, and you may want to give it a shot.

Is this as good as the first book?

Maybe not, but it continues Max's story very well.

We begin with her working at Columbia University, trying to evade her bodyguards. But Ben reaches out to her to remind her how dangerous it is, given that Dr. Zimm and the Corp are still after her.
And when thugs break into her old home above the barn, she realizes just how true these words are.

Max just wants something to DO.

Fortunately, the next mission comes through Siobhan. The water situation in her home town is dire, and the kids get away from Corp bullies (with the help of Tisa and Charl) to head to Ireland.

Throughout the prose are a lot of science facts, including the laws of motion and Force=Mass*Acceleration. The ways in which the science is implemented is quite interesting. childish? Yes, but it works for the audience and to make science fun for us adults reading as well.
We also get information on water, pollution, and technology.

The Corps has a humanoid robot named Lenard that has a creepy laugh. Something I absolutely love about this book is that it never really humanizes Lenard. Nope, it's AI, it's technology, and it's not self-aware even though it something pretends to be. Instead, it only knows the data it's given.

There's speculation that there's a spy in the CMI, and it's obvious to me that Klaus is a red herring. He even grows here, which is great.

Then Max, Sioban, Klaus, and Keeto head to India to help Vihaan (and others) with the water situation there. The Corps obviously finds them again; media doesn't let people hide.

Love conquers greed and it's a great moral here.

The Max Einstein book series is a blend between Stephen King's The Institute and an episode of the short-lived '90s animated series James Bond Jr.. While the target audience is aimed at middle graders, the books do contain a bit of violence and heavy themes that might not be suitable for every young reader.

As an adult, I enjoyed reading Max Einstein: Rebels With A Cause, and it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm a James Patterson fan. I've been a little critical of many of Mr. Patterson's recent releases and, to me, the author's children's books are better written than his adult thrillers.

Overall, Max Einstein: Rebels With A Cause is well-written, fast-paced adventure that both young and adults will enjoy reading. The story is enhanced by cute illustrations by Beverly Johnson. Warning: There are a few math and science lessons! However, the lessons are there as plot devices so young readers probably won't even notice them.

Once again, Max Einstein: Rebels With A Cause is a pretty good read!

,, 𝙼𝚊𝚡 𝙴𝚒𝚗𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚒𝚗. 𝙱𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚘𝚠𝚗𝚒𝚌𝚢 𝚗𝚒𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚣 𝚙𝚘𝚠𝚘𝚍𝚞“- James Patterson, Chris Grabenstein🚀

Second in the series. This book picks up shortly after the first ended. Max has been established as an adjunct faculty member at an New York university under an alias. She's bored and sneaks away from her bodyguards to begin the book. A kidnapping attempt takes place immediately following this action and the story is launched.
The save the world theme continues - this time the CMI team solves water issues in Ireland and India. They defeat the Corp and develop closer friendships with each other. They even convert the "evil" AI robot at the end and make him part of their team.
Max remains a strong female lead surrounded by other strong girls. They also work together with the boys on their team, and even Klaus comes to understand why Max was chosen as the team leader.

I read this book for fun because I get bored a lot. Before I started reading it I was pretty sure it would be good because I had read the first book already. The first reason for the 5 stars is I relate well to Max Einstein in that I do well in a team and I work well with pretty much anyone. The second reason is that the plot was engaging and made sense. One of my favorite scenes is where the kids trick Dr. Zimm into literally going to the middle of nowhere. The third reason is that the theme describes what I would like to be doing which is helping make the world a better place. Finally, I think all people should read this to realize how bad some places have it and how we take the things they don't have for granted.

This was a fun and quick sequel. It was little predictable but honestly the characters are just so much fun and obviously this is at the end of the day aimed at kids who would probably enjoy this even more. That said, I had fun reading this and I will be continuing since a) it's a fun series to read b) the mystery surrounding Max is very intriguing and I have a lot of theories. Also c) those doodles! I didn't know there will illustrations and now I'm tempted to actually read book one! :)

Again a cute fun read from these coauthors. I have similar opinions as I did with the first book, but in this one I felt like Max had moments of being rude to others because she thought she knew best, even if she didn’t. I didn’t feel like that was a great quality. I also didn’t enjoy how they seem to criticize Einstein for his belief in God. Admittedly I don’t understand the scientific theory they are referencing to at that point, so maybe they aren’t criticizing him as much as it seems. Overall it was an enjoyable book.

Max and the other members of CMI have good intentions and are lucky to have Ben to be able to back them while making good life altering changes happen. Young and older people alike can be inspired and everyone of us has to be willing and hopefully able to accept the challenge if and when it is presented to us. Some with coaxing, others jump in both feet forward. Causes are often good things and need the help of many to make our world a better place.

Max Einstein: Rebels With A Cause was a great book that was just what you would want from the next Max Einstein book. It had the same kind of fun ideas that the first book had but even better. I think the best part was when they made the robot that cleaned the well water and saved the town. I also liked the AI robot Leonardo who was very funny. In all this book was a great read and has made me eager to read more.

Huge 5*

I love this series not only because it about kids, but it's showing kids can change the world. And they don't have to travel the world to do so. They can start right at home. One day at a time. This book hit two big issues in our world. Clean water and food shortages. And even as adults we need to make a stand to support our children. To help them grow and become the change makers this world needs. A huge recommend for this one
