Prepare yourself for a mind-bending adventure full of magic, romance, and twists you’ll never see coming.
Gemma and her soulmate Ethan have remembered the true past they shared together. So everything in her life should be perfect. Right?
Wrong. Gemma’s worst nightmare has come true. Her twin sister Mira has gone dark and joined forces with Lilith and the demons.
Gemma has already learned the hard way that she can’t use her time travel magic to save her sister. But she can use it to help defeat the demons.
The best way to do that? Find the only Dark Weapon the demons don’t have yet—the Dark Sword—and use it against them.
But the Dark Sword is lost in time—over a century in time, to be exact. Now, it’s up to Gemma to find it and bring it to the present before Mira can get it first. And if Mira does find it first, Gemma will have to do everything she can to steal it from her, even if it means committing the ultimate act of turning on her twin once and for all.

I was really really excited for this book, but I was a little disappointed. I felt that the story was rushed and disjointed. I didn't feel like we got the detail we have in previous books, it felt as though I was been told what was happening instead of been shown. The story wasn't bad but there was no feeling to it. I didn't feel anything from the characters.
It wasn't all bad, I loved we got to see a little more of everyone from previous series in the Dark World.
What an amazing ending to this incredible series! It’s been one hell of a ride but one that I am so glad I jumped on. It’s fast paced, suspenseful, filled with magic, romance and I have to admit I did not see some of the twists and turns coming. It’s been a gripping adventure with some fantastic characters and the ending was just perfect, I laughed, I gasped and yep I even shed a few tears but boy it was well worth the read!!
The Dragon Queen is the last book in this series and it went out with a bang loved reading it.
Gemma and Ethan are together and happy in there own little bubble but the outside world is creeping in the dangers that they must face to help save everyone from the rise of Lucifer and the destruction of not just the earth and the people on it but every magical creature in the realms as surely the destruction would seep through to each realm and leave many dead.. Yup a lot for a 17year old Queen of Pentacles with Dragon magic to deal with ohh and she also needs to find a way to save her twin Mira from the darkness that's ensnared her trying to make her do it's bidding. Can working together with the council members of Avalon get it done and stop the war with the demons on earth as those that will surely rise with Lucifer?? Well no matter what happens Gemma won't give up without a fight she'll change time to save the ones she loves from dying and this time she'll get it right no matter what the cost.
Although I purchased a preorder of this book, I did receive an advanced copy from the author for my person opinion and to leave a review. Our story continues from book 3, The Dragon Scorned and with a mini refresher we are brought up to speed on the situation. Gemma’s perspective from Avalon going forward. This book is a fitting conclusion and wraps up all the unfinished business from before. It does have a happy ending and again appropriate. I love that there are different character perspectives in this that tells the full story. This I enjoyed immensely. The fact that the Dark Queens align with the Holy Queens balance the scale. Several great lines were highlighted. I did actually enjoy the repetitiveness of what Queen had what power and their tool. There are a lot of names and they can be a whirlwind of confusion. I did enjoy the battle scenes and how the story flowed. So enjoyable. Great book.
I’ve read ARCs of all the books in this series and the connecting series’ and I’ve enjoyed seeing the characters and plot progress and all the different series’ connecting! I was really sad that this book was the final book in the world, but I was excited to find out how it was going to end! After reading this book, I can say that I really enjoyed it! I loved the way the plot progressed and what happened in it! The addition of time travel and the times the characters went back to was also fascinating and added a lot to the plot! This book only took me a few sittings to read as well! There was also a bit of romance, but not much at all, and the main focus was the characters working together to defeat evil! There was also a bit of action and suspense as well, which added to the plot! The characters were again amazing and made the book even better! The main character was Gemma and I felt like she had come such a long way from the girl introduced in the first book! She did what she had to do to protect the ones that meant the world to her and she had matured so much in a short space of time! I really liked Gemma and I felt like she worked well with the other characters and did well in her new role! There were lots of secondary characters in this book and they all added a lot to the plot for different reasons! I can't really pick out any to mention specifically because I really enjoyed all the characters and it was fun to see all the characters from the other series all be in this book and for them to work together! This book was written from quite a few different point of views, which didn’t surprise me because the other books in this series have been written this way! This book was mainly written from Gemma’s point of view, but chapters were also written from Mira, Raven, Selena, Annika, Sage, Torrence and Bella’s point of views! All of the different point of views added a lot to the plot and some had different storylines that then connected! I really liked this book being written this way and it helped me connect more with the other characters! I’m really sad that this book is the final book in this series because I enjoyed the world that the author built! The ending was left at the perfect place to finish off the series and wrap it up! I’m excited about the new series that this author is writing because it’s a sort of spinoff to one of her other series’ that I’ve already read! I know that series won’t release until next year, but I’m looking forward to it! I also love the cover for this book and it would draw me to it! It really suits the other covers in the series and suits what happens in the book too! The cover model is also the perfect Gemma! Big thank you to Michelle for an ARC of The Dragon Queen!
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!!! I want to say so many great things about this book but I just don’t know where to start. The story flowed well, the character development was on point and the writing was fantastic. I loved the alternate histories created for Gemma’s other timelines, very well developed. The time travel aspect fit in to the bigger picture so well and allowed for much more complex stories to be told. I enjoyed seeing Mira’s character develop as she did and that things ended the way they did for her. Overall a great read with complex characters, exciting plot, descriptive world building, time travel, dragons and magic…..what more could one need!?
A review of the series, but this was my favorite book
I read the faerie games series first, then this one. I thought the first two books were ok, but not as good as the faerie games series. It was from book three on that I preferred this series. They were so good and this book did an awesome job of tying up all the loose ends of the current storylines. I love the way this author writes each story, interweaving them to create a story so complicated, but that keeps you excited to switch perspectives. I often want the author to go back to the character I care most about, but you will love all of Michelle Marie's characters equally. She is an excellent story teller!
This is so hard for me to say goodbye to this world. Michelle did such a fantastic job at building this world and all of the diverse characters. It was such an amazing process for her to bring all these series together into one massive collection. I loved reading about each and everyone of them. It truly has it all. It is action packed and full of love from so many characters from all the series. The time traveling in this one just added to the magic that Michelle has created. I can hardle put into words how great it been reading these because I hate to see it end.
Just finished The Dragon Queen and....wow! It's not often than I can stick with a series this many books deep and still be all in by the end, but, here we are! Each book left me dying for more, and I loved the interconnectivity of the entire Dark World. Keeping track of as many MCs as there were should have been hard, but it flowed so nicely that it wasn't. I accidentally stumbled into The Faerie Games after reading The Elementals, and I'm glad I ended up going back to the beginning! Very excited for Elementals Academy when it gets here!
The Dragon Queen (Dark World: The Dragon Twins Book 4) From the first page of this series to the last page this series was full of twist and turns full of magic and intrigue! Loved 🥰 every minute of it!!!! I'm sad to say goodbye to this world, but looking forward to what will come next. The author left breadcrumbs throughout the series and really pulled them together well in this one.. Eventually I will reread all of the series again starting with “The Vampire Wish.” Definitely recommend this book 📖 / series 📚!!!
Problem solving outside the box takes on a whole new meaning in this book. Gemma has been tasked with a very special job. Save the world. Luckily, she has friends that help her with this mission. What you know about dark being evil or bad is not always the truth. Sometimes, one must find the loopholes for things to work out as they should be. This book is an exciting adventure with history thrown into it.
Man has it been a ride. Gemma goes on a mission to get the dark sword and runs into Mira. Because Mira is so far away from Lilith the bond is weak. Gemma manages to make it back to the present and the final battle commences. What happens involves lots of time travel and careful planning.
This was a great ending to the series. It was great to see our favorite characters back in action. It was great to see the twists as they played out. Such a great ending.
Outstanding ending! What a ride this has been. I loved this series and this final book was the perfect ending to the series. I would have loved a little more to the last chapter, but it was still great and I think the majority of readers feel like they would love more if it's a really good book. One simply doesn't want it to end. I highly recommend this series and it should be read in order. The best is to start at the beginning of the Dark World epic with the The Vampire Wish.
Two wars, a love that conquers all, and rebuilding of a realm. Although I am curious what happens when she finds her twin flame. I am glad to see the dark mages & fae get what they deserve. It was cool to find out there were more dragons left than they thought. I hope there is another in this series or another series where the characters I love will pop up occasionally.
Great, riviteting Series!!! Gemma and Miras Story ! So many twist and turns all meeting together! All of the characters The Author pulled together, connected, developed. I haven't found a series I've really enjoyed and not wanted to put down in a while this was stay up all night ..eyes crossing trying to see what is going to happen next Series!!! Absolutely LOVED IT !!!
What a fantastic ending to a most exciting series. Gemma must use her time travelling ability to get objects that can help them stop Lilith from raising Lucifer. The final battle takes place, but everything goes wrong. Again, Gemma must use her ability to find another much needed object, then go back before the battle takes place and ensure a different outcome. Everything depends on her.
Great end to a series. So much happens in this final book of The Dragon Twins. Gemma and Mira with all the help of the Earth Angel and all the others manage to find a way to end the threat of dark magic and demons. There are no dull moments in this story. It was very enjoyable. I received this book as an ARC.
This was the perfect end to nit only the dragon twins but to the dark world series its been such a journey but one I recommend everyone read who is into vampires, shifters, fariaer, angles deamons, lucifer and dragons and witches this series is definitely 5* and I loved it
I’m sad that the Dark World Series has come to an end. This last book brought everything together. There were a few parts that felt a little rushed, but that may just be because I didn’t want it to come to an end. If you haven’t read all the books in the series, I highly recommend them. I’m looking forward to the next series!
I loved Gemma and Mira and all are favorite people in this book. We had the journey to defeat Lilith and Lucifer in this book. The quest for the dark objects and you will love where they end up. There is also another object introduced in this book. Sad to see this world end but loved the outcome.
This one felt so rushed! Everything got tied up so neatly and quickly, the majority of plans worked on the first try and took half a page to execute, everything was so rapid to the point of being jarring - it felt like the author just wanted to be done with it. Definite three stars; it felt more like a quick summary of a finale, rather than a proper ending to an otherwise fantastic series.
I love the narration, but the beginning of this last volume is a bit disappointing like if the author was struggling to find the right pace for the book. And so was the my personal experience with this title. I had to force myself to go through the first chapters, but then the book rewards you with the best from the series and at the end I have to admit I really enjoyed it.
I've enjoyed these series but this book particularly felt rushed, like there was a deadline and the author was bored with this world and just wanted to wrap it up. There was no depth at all which isn't wholly uncommon in YA but this was next level compared to other books. Kind of disappointing but I guess some props for giving us a tidy ending.
The time travel was much easier to follow in this book. I sort of wished we got a little more with the love interests in the story. I felt Gemma was still constantly going back and forth to make events work in their favor that we missed a lot on the evolution of friendships and relationships.
Gemma's story was great from start to finish. I enjoyed watching her grow and learn through her new powers and life. I like the fact that while this series is the end of the complete dark world series you do not feel like you are in the dark or missing anything not having read the other series in the dark world.
I have read all the different sets of books. I really enjoyed them all. They are different from other magical books but just as good. Strong characters, wonderful story lines. You can't wait to read what happens next. Highly recommend them. Look forward to more books by this author.
As always, Michelle Madow did not disappoint me! The series was excellent and the final book very suspenseful. It reads very fast and I loved the same characters again with Mira and Gemma finally making up and Mira getting engaged.
Wow, what an amazing ending to the series, I was engrossed from the first page to the last did not want to put it down. Who would have thought it. I wonder what the fabulous author will come up with next, cannot wait.
Michelle did it again. I was so wrapped up in this book I read it sitting in an amusement park. Thank you for writing such amazing stories that I lose track of time and activity around me!
Really enjoyed every exciting moment of this dangerous journey! Emotional roller-coaster of an action packed adventure filled with magically engaging charters, intriguing twists and heart racing turns..
