When a grumpy hotshot firefighter meets a homecoming queen from the city, all bets are off.
I don’t have time for romance, much less for prissy Madison Glen. The first time I meet her, I kiss her. The second time I meet her, she's breaking into my neighbor's house. She swears up and down she’s not a criminal. Maybe not, but she is definitely a distraction I don’t need.
I’ve got my hands full with my mouthy daughter and an insanely busy life as a hotshot firefighter. It doesn’t surprise me at all to learn Madison was homecoming queen in high school.
She’s stubborn, impractical, and she’d win the contest for least-likely to survive in small town Alaska. She’s also sultry and sassy. She’s everything I don’t need. It doesn’t matter what I tell myself though. I can’t keep my hands to myself when she’s around, and she kisses like a dream.
Graham & Madison’s story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, hotshot firefighters, alpha heroes, sassy heroines, frenemies to lovers, hate to love, opposites attract, slow burn, emotional romance with a dash of angst, plenty of steam and swoon, and a deeply protective grumpy hero.

This is my first read by this author, but won't be my last!! Light My Fire is her new series set in Alaska and features hotshot firefighters. So ya know it's gonna be HOT!
In this story we meet Graham. He's a single father and stepping into his new job as superintendent of a new hotshot fire crew, set in the small sleepy town of Willow Creek. He doesn't have time to pursue women romantically when he is trying his hardest to raise his teen daughter alone. Thankfully he has a great group of friends and family members helping when needed.
Madison is a strong and determined woman, but her life has taken a nasty turn. Leaving Texas behind with all her problems she heads out on a road trip to Alaska. Just her beat up car and her trusty companion, a corgi named Wilbur. Her destination - a cabin her Grandfather willed to her. She's due for some solace and thinks this will be the perfect place to find herself again.
Along her journey she encounters a man. A very hot, very charming man. They have an undeniably earth shattering moment. Thinking that would be the last time she sees him, she decides to step out of her comfort zone and be brave.
Little did she know she would be seeing that hot guy way more often... It's hard to hide from him when they are neighbors! Bumping into each other everywhere around town.
This was a sugary sweet read, with burning chemistry, endearing characters and a picturesque setting. Looking forward to reading other books in this series.

Instead of fleshing out a detailed summary of why this book didn't work for me, I thought I would just share the following quotes from WILD WITH YOU that will illustrate the issue...
“I think we might be dangerous together, sweetheart.” - - - - - - - “You’re dangerous. Madison,” he murmured. - - - - - - Kissing her was beyond dangerous. - - - - - - “You’re dangerous, sweetheart,” he murmured in my hair. - - - - - - “What do you mean?” I pressed. "You, sweetheart. You’re dangerous.”
I could copy and paste this exact same list but using references in the book to the electricity/sparks between them. I checked and that was repeated in this book 20 times. Yes, 20.
I just....need I say more? I have really loved some of this author's past books, but the writing in this one is just filled with repetitive cliches. It felt like a novel hastily written using a formula.
3 stars because of the small town setting and describing the beauty of Alaska. This book has some clichés I wish it hadn’t. I mean, how many pizzas can you eat in one book. Every single time dinner was mentioned, they were getting pizza. When they weren’t eating pizza, they were drinking coffee or hot chocolate. One or two times is fine, but there are tons of different things the author could’ve written. Every time Allie had a sleepover at a friends house or was on camp, I knew the sex scenes would happen. It was all very cliché and that’s such a pity. Also, a lot of side characters are mentioned. This is the first book in a series and a standalone, so I can only assume these characters are from books in previous series. Books I didn’t read. It wasn’t necessary to throw them in this book. It only was confusing for me. How many introductions were made, this is A and she’s married to B, have you met C she’s D’s wife, say hello to E who is married with kids to F. And it went on and on. Those characters didn’t add anything to this story. So why bring them up?
By the sound of the above it looks like I didn’t enjoy this book, but I did. I liked both characters and the hero’s interactions with his teenage daughter. The corgi Wilbur was the sweetest and I loved the small town setting. There were some elements that I thought would cause drama but didn’t. It was very low on angst. A sweet romance.
Safe read. Hero not a manwhore. Hero celibate for over 2 years, heroine celibate for a year. No cheating, sex with OP or OW/OM drama. They start a friends with benefits relationship, both not wanting to admit feeling more.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I enjoyed this book, but I feel like the blurb sets up one kind of story and doesn’t deliver. At no time does Madison act like a diva. Her clothes are never mentioned. She is self sufficient. The only time she struggles at Alaskan living is when she doesn’t know how to start at a fire in the fireplace.
The blurb says she’s “stubborn, impractical and least-likely to survive in a small town? “ None of that is reflected in the book. She’s completely level-headed and is a worthy mother-figure for Graham’s teenage daughter. She makes friends easily, is really smart, and is pretty much competent at life. On two occasions she needs help with a moose, but I think asking for help with wildlife is smart and not the sign of being a diva.
Beyond that, the story was fun and interesting. I didn’t know that a hot shot fireman was an actual thing (highly trained, mobile, wildfire crew), so at first I thought they were teasing Graham by a call him “Hot Shot.” Who says you don’t learn from romance novels?!
Graham and Madison have great instant chemistry that translates on the page. Once they realize they are going to see each other all the time, you wonder what the impediment to having a relationship actually is. Definitely so steamy scenes for these two.
I love books set in Alaska and this one was fun to read!
I received an advance reader copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing and these are my honest opinions.
I was so excited to be back in Willow Brook with this new series! Wild With You was the first book in Croix’s Light My Fire series. It was hot, sexy, and fun!
Madison needed a change and Alaska was just the place. She met Graham on the road and never thought she would see him again until he accused her of breaking into his neighbors house. Maybe escaping to Alaska was not the answer.
Graham had a lot on his plate. He was a hotshot firefighter and a single dad trying to raise a teenager. When he kissed Madison, he thought it was a one time thing until he was sent to check on a possible squatter. Now, she was his new neighbor. With a rocky start, would their chemistry win, or would it blow up in their faces?
Graham!! Such a sweetheart! I love that this series was set in Alaska! All of Croix’s Alaskan novels are so much fun and easy to read. Not to mention steamy!! I can’t wait to get my hands on more of these!
I am a HUGE fan of single parent romance reads and when that single parent is a sexy as all get out firefighter, I.Am.There.For.It. Wild With You was an absolute dream to read. From page one I was hooked. Madison and Graham are fantastic characters on their own but together they are a treat. I love when a romance book’s main characters are not looking for love and love finds them unexpectedly and fully. That kind of good karma, makes for a really enjoyable read. Watching Graham and Madison work their way towards each other and get their happily ever after made for a read in one sitting romance. I’m giving Wild With You the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
Madison inherits her grandfathers home in Alaska. After losing her job, her fiancee and a fall out with her parents Maddie packs up and goes to this small town in Alaska.
She meets a stranger on her way who she asked to kiss her.
This gorgeous novel has all the swoons, and beauty that you could hope for. A quick read that romance lovers will dive into and enjoy every moment of.
Wild With You by JH Croix is the first in a new series, Light My Fire. It takes place in, where else? Alaska. And revolves around the lives of . . . firefighters! Does this sound familiar? It is what Croix does best. In this story we meet Graham and Madison and revisit, briefly, characters about whom we have read in the past, citizens of Willow Brook. Rarely do I wish I wrote flashy reviews, ones that would be quoted. For this book, I do. Graham is the newly appointed superintendent of a new hotshot fire crew based in Willow Creek, where he had been born and lived his entire life. He is the father of a 14-year-old daughter, Allie, and is out of his depth with that. He got the homecoming queen pregnant and she decided after a month that motherhood was not for her, so they saw her only rarely. Madison is escaping her life in Houston where her father is being indicted for financial crimes and she is a witness, the chief witness. Her parents are pretty angry she won't help by lying, but it is what it is.
This is very nearly love-at-first-sight. They meet, enjoy a kiss, and move on to their lives, only to discover they are neighbors. Madison is their friend, Harold's granddaughter. They have missed Harold and are happy she is there. Well, happiness comes and goes with Graham. It is an on-again, off-again romance that leaves the reader unsure had to whose side they should take. Madison has found a job and is settling in. Graham is struggling, with his daughter, with the idea of "dating," with whether to add on to his house. He is twisted up and until he discovers that Madison is the cause, he has no respite. This is an enthralling novel, full of the everyday fun of life with a teenager. It is so much easier with two. It is so much easier with Madison. JH Croix writes the quintessential romance. I am a fan! What a grand story! Please read it!
I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Wild With You by the author. All thoughts and opinions are mine.
5 Star Review of Wild With You (Light My Fire #1) by J H Croix
Having read a few books by J.H. Croix I was excited when I learnt she had a new series releasing. Wild With You was an entertaining read that ticked the boxes for me. This is Madison and Graham’s story and I was hooked from the first chapter, particularly as Graham is a single dad and for me it was a win/win. I love stories set in small towns, add in a firefighter, a sassy, fabulous teenager Allie and some familiar faces and I had a hard time putting this one down, This was a well written story with characters who were easy to like and relate too. There were numerous feel good moments whilst I was reading and although it was emotional at times, I had a smile on my face throughout my read. This is a little gem of a read and I for one cannot wait to see what’s next in the Light My Fire series.
If you love hot firefighters then this is your book. J.H. Croix has you wanting to live in Willow Brook, Alaska and meet one of them in this strangers to lovers, single dad romance.
Maddie needs to get away from her family as she is a key witness in her father's trial. She wouldn't break the law for him, instead, she turned him in. She just finds out that her grandfather left her a beautiful home in Alaska and she decides to go there and start over. Well, she hits s0 many bumps in the road on her new journey. First, she meets a handsome man, Graham, on the side of the road when he helps her out. Then she meets in the Inn that she is staying in on the way to Willow Brook, but this time he asks for a kiss so why, not she will never see him again. Well, it was one hell of a kiss. What happens when she gets to her grandfather's house and someone is banging on the door? Well, surprise it is Graham nd surprise he is your neighbour. What will she do now? She keeps going over the kiss and how she wants more but will anything happen? Will she fight the attraction that she has for him? When he helps her out will the sparks fly? Maddie said that she was not looking for a relationship but things change?
Graham is a very handsome firefighter with a teenage daughter. He meets Maddie on the dis of the road and is instantly attracted to her. When he suggests that they kiss, he did not think that it would impact him as much as it did. Then to find out that she is his neighbour, well that chang4es everything. Graham is not looking for a relationship because of his job but also his daughter, so he thinks. When he lets his daughter. Allie, form a friendship with Maddie, the lines begin to get blurry. Can Graham keep using his daughter as an excuse for not dating with Maddie right there? Does Allie try and get her dad to see that Maddie is perfect for him? Will the sparks continue to fly?
J.H. Croix has you loving the chemistry between the two of them. This is the first book I have read and I cannot wait to read more. This series will be added to my TBR list.
Wild With You is a story of ups and downs, mature and immature thoughts and the tug of war that results when you overthink or question yourself. Madison Glen left Houston on the heels of a family business scandal, a mother who pressured her, as the actuary of the company, to cook the books in an effort to prove their innocence, her country club life and a breakup with her fiance. Actually, he was no loss since the only thing he wanted with Madison was to advance his career through her family's business. Heading to Willow Brook, Alaska with her faithful corgi, Wilbur, to the house that her grandpa left her in his will, she's ready for her new adventure. Along the way, she and Wilbur get out at a gas station for a break and promptly run into a moose across the field from them. Wilbur takes off and Madison starts to chase him, but a voice behind her warns her not to run. Graham Holden is a single father of a fourteen-year-old, Allie, the superintendent of a hotshot firefighter crew with an ex who had no interest in sticking around after Allie was born. He's hesitant to have any relationship, but he certainly thinks Madison is a gorgeous woman. They run into each other in a hotel when they both decide to stay the night before going on to Willow Brook, and Madison asks if she can kiss him. A plot device thrown in that didn't quite ring true. When they get home, it turns out that they are next-door neighbors. They were immediately drawn to each other the day before, but now it's becoming complicated due to their close proximity. Even though his daughter adores Madison and vice versa, he still isn't sure if he can, or should, commit to her. I am struck by the fact that fourteen-year-old Allie was the most mature of them all. This is a good book, not a great book, but I recommend it!
WILD WITH YOU is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are sexy scenes and colorful language if that is an issue for you. The story is set in Willow Brook, Alaska. The town is the backdrop for this series and the books are about the hotshot firefighters and their love stories. In this story you will meet Graham.
Graham is a gorgeous hunk of a guy, he is a single father to a 14 year old Allie. His parents live in town and without their help he could never have raising Allie from a one month old to present. His wife was his high school sweetheart. She was a great homecoming queen but not wife or mother material. In her short life, Allie has seen her mother 9 times. Not a good relationship there.
Madison was living in Houston, Texas. She is an actuary - that is the numbers person, in her dad's company. They are quite wealthy and are living the good life. The country club, high society, BMW, the works. That is until her dad is arrested for fraud and her mother wants her to "fix" the books so he seems innocent. She refuses. She cooperates with the DA and as soon as she can, she packs her bags, her dog, a corgi named Wilbur and she heads for Alaska. She learns she inherited her grandfather's house in Willow Brook so she heads out to a new place to start over.
Oh yes, her fiance dumped her as soon as he figured out her father couldn't advance his career. So she is feeling a bit off when she runs into Graham at a rest stop. He is quite the hunk and she is instantly attracted but no men for her. Not after all that has happened.
But imagine her surprise when he turns out to be her next door neighbor. This is a great love story. Fun to be back in Alaska and revisit all the characters in town. You will not be lost if this is your first book in this series. I really enjoyed the story and I definitely recommend it. For CROIX fans you will discover another hit!!
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 8/10/2021
Willow Brook, Alaska, where the firefighters/Hot Shots are good looking, the coffee is strong, and Madison has just learned she inherited her grandfather's home there. Maddie needs a change of scenery, her father is in trouble, and she is the key witness against him. Her fiancé has called it quits. Did he even love her?
As she drives to Willow Brook from Houston, she meets Graham along the way. First, he gets her out of a jam with a moose, and then they are at the same hotel for the night. One kiss will not hurt. They will never see each other again, right?
Well, it turns out the small town is now home to both of them. But, can they keep their hands to themselves? I love the coffee-drinking, gossip-filled, and sassy heroines in the town of Willow Brook, Alaska. As this is book one in a new series, we will be getting to know the town better.
Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Take a super hot, cynical single dad firefighter, an equally hot, feisty firecracker with the cutest dog ever, add an off-the-charts chemistry that will set your e-reader on fire, and some emotional twists, mix and shake it all thoroughly, and enjoy one of the hottest, sexiest, and most intense books I've read this year. To say I loved Madison and Graham's story is the understatement of the year. Both characters are so vibrant, so tangible, that I expected them to walk out of this book at any moment. Their attraction for each other is immediately palpable, and they fight so hard to not give in to their feelings ... But it's not just the chemistry that drew me into this story like a moth to a flame, it's also their history with all the deep feelings connected to their past that kept me turning the pages like a speed-devil. Wild With You is one of those stories that you want to keep reading and never let it end because it hurts to let these characters go. In my opinion, this is the best book Ms. Croix has written to date, and that's saying a lot because I've loved all of her books!
This is the first book in the Light My Fire Series and is a great start to the series. This is definitely the best book I've read in a while. I loved Madison and Graham's story and know you will. They were strong characters with a lot of personality. Their chemistry was amazing and they both tried to fight it. She was a former home coming queen with no shortage of spunk. His job and his daughter were all consuming and he had no time for the likes of Madison, They were opposites but you know what they say about opposites. A great read that is hard to put down. I read an advance copy via Bad Boy Update and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Graham is a hotshot firefighter who is also a single father of a wonderful teenage girl. Madison moves into the area hoping for a new start to her life. She has a lot of personal issues which could cause major complications and she needs to sort them out. Graham is not ready for a relationship so he is trying to ignore his growing feelings for Madison. The chemistry between these two is instant and will only grow as time goes by. Graham is so caring and considerate where Madison has a hard time trusting people. You wonder if they can find a way around all their obstacles to finally be together. This was an amazing romantic story with suspense, drama and at times funny. I am a big fan JH Croix and have been looking forward to this series. The name of this series is so appropriate and I can't wait to see what happens next. I received a copy of this book from Booksprout and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Fall accidentally in love with drama that just won't quit and charm that can't be stopped. Croix gives the senses a shake up with a whole lot of stubborn and an overload of heart. Wild with You is everything I've come to expect from a J.H. Croix read. Tempting, unpredictable, irresistible with a side of emotional.
From their initial meeting, to all the run-ins after that, it was just so good. Add in Graham's daughter (with her matchmaking ways), and this book just made me smile.
I cannot wait to read more from this new series. I am sure that I will love it.
This was fine. Kind of entertaining, not the worst thing I’ve read. But it just didn’t do it for me. Too many repeated phrases and words, seemed very formulaic and cliche at times. There were also a few random details that just didn’t add anything to the story and instead were distracting. Overall, just not a book for me.
I loved Graham & Madison’s story! I had to pace myself so I did not read all of it in one sitting! I wanted to make it last! This story is still in Willow Brook, Alaska, but is very different from the other series. We get cameos from previous characters, but you can still enjoy the book if you have not read the other series. Family dilemmas, friendship, tenderness, love. Everything you want in a romantic story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is yet another wonderful Alaskan firefighter romance. Ms. Croix once again finds a way to bring Madison and Graham into the hearts of her reader. Their chemistry is off the charts while still addressing the issues facing a single dad trying to do right by his teenage daughter. This is a short read and one you won’t want to put down.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Maddison is escaping her troubled past (well, her embezzling and fraudulent father anyway) and like any poor rich girl she’s inherited a cottage …. In Alaska. So she moves there and meets a hotshot firefighter. Who knew they were even a thing … hotshot. Sounds a bit cliched. Because he’s also hot … of course. He has a name - Graham. I nearly lost it right there but anyway.
This is a pretty formulaic romance - the pair keep their dalliances a secret because they live in a small town and Graham has a teenage daughter he understandably doesn’t want to see hurt. Their attraction is pretty instant and there’s sparks of love not long after.
A little cringey and a lot of cliches. A quick read, but nothing earth shattering.
There was a corgi though that sounded cute as can be :-)
Madison and Wilbur leave a difficult situation to start over again, while Gabe is doing his best as a single father. A chance meeting with a moose brings the main characters together, and then they find out they are neighbours. Starting over in a new place can be daunting, especially when you are being accused of breaking and entering. After this auspicious start, Madison and Gabe have to learn to trust other people and cope with families - good and bad. Wilbur is a honey of a dog and he is a wonderful character. An enjoyable read set in Willow Creek with some visits from old friends.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Yet another instalust story. Makes the authors job very easy with little imagination needed. Did have some interesting themes of starting over and family dynamics.
Wild With You is the first book in the Light My Fire series by J.H. Croix, which is actually a spin off from her Into The Fire series. The book is written in an alternating POV and is a complete stand alone. You absolutely do not have to read the previous series, though there are quite a few cameos from the Into The Fire series so it's fun to see those characters again if you have read that series but again not at all necessary to enjoy this book.
Madison is moving her life from Houston, Texas where her world came crumbling down to Willow Brook, a small town in Alaska where her grandfather had willed her his hunting cabin. With her self confidence shaken, Madison isn't quite sure how she will start over but she is willing to try and make it on her own. Graham is a hotshot firefighter and single dad to Allie, a sassy 14 year old girl, with no time in his life to worry about dating. So when he meets Madison for the first time at a gas station and sparks go flying he is relieved that he won't be running into her again- until he realizes that she is his new next door neighbor.
Graham and Madison have such a powerful instant connection that just comes screaming off the pages despite how badly they both try to tamp it down at first. Madison has such as sweet, bubbly personality and I hate how her self confidence was broken when her life blew up in Texas. Graham is very protective but also wary of women after his ex took off only a month after their daughter was born, which causes him to come off as a bit guarded against Madison. For the most part their interactions are laden with flirty and lust filled undertones that they both try to hide from. But that connection keeps drawing them back together and combusts after a long slow burn.
I loved the little interactions between Graham and Madison as they were fighting their attraction and how everyone in the small town noticed the pull between them. I wasn't thrilled that their declarations of love came off of a few week period of silence from each of them- besides that, they really hadn't gotten to know each other outside of the bedroom. Graham had literally learned more about Madison through a Google search than what she had shared with him at that point. So while they might have realized that there was more to their connection than just a physical attraction it just felt like that declaration was a little off.
I wish there was just another chapter or two between when they really truly got together and the epilogue. I just personally would have loved to get a little more of their dynamic with Allie now that they weren't denying their attraction- seeing Madison step a little more into that motherly role/influence in Allie's life.
The story between Madison and Graham was amazing. When they met Madison was stopped at a gas station on her way to her grandfather's cabin in a small town in Alaska. While she let her pup out to also go to the bathroom she saw a large moose standing just outside the building. Her dog started running towards it barking and she tried to call him back. Then she heard a man's voice telling her to step back. He was a mountain of a man and she did as she was told. He had his shotgun with him and he shot into the air to scare the moose off. Madison got her pup back and thanked him. Then drove away thinking she would never see this gorgeous stranger again. Funny how just a short time later they ran into one another again at a hotel where Madison was staying on the way to her new home. She was so surprised to see him again after thinking so much about him on the drive here that she asked him one simple question. Will you kiss me? And Graham didn't disappoint. After their incredible kiss both walked away to their separate rooms.
Madison made it to her grandfather's cabin and she absolutely loved it. This is where she will make her new start. Once she and her pup Wilbur settled in she got a loud knock on her. When she answered it she was shocked to see Graham standing there. He told her he was asked by the police chief to see who was here since the owner had passed and he was her neighbor. She told him it was her late grandfather's place and that she was moving here.
Things really get interesting after that. Graham has an awesome 14 year old daughter named Allie. She is eager to meet Madison. Graham is torn because he is trying to stay away from Madison but knows his daughter. Allie's mom left them when she was just a month old and has never really been a part of her life.
Graham is a fire fighter and he has made that and his daughter his life. Now Madison comes along and changes things. What happens between them is amazing! Lots of sexual angst. So many great and funny parts. Loved this story. Must read more in this series! Enjoy!
Madison Glen is headed to Alaska to stay at the hunting lodge her grandfather left her in his will after her father is charged with fraud in the company that Madison worked for. She needs some time to figure out what she wants to do with her life and needs to do it away from her family.
Graham Holden is a single father to Allie and the new superintendent for the expansion of the hotshot firefighters. He loves his job and is extremely protective of those he lives around.
When Graham sees lights on over at his neighbors he goes to investigate and finds Madison. Graham isn't looking for a relationship but there's something about Madison that he can't stay away from. Will Graham finally be able to find what he's been missing with Madison or will he push her away and lose her?
This is another great book by the author and I am really looking forward to the new series!
Madison is a great character who completely gives up her comforts when her life is flipped upside down. I give her a lot of credit for doing the right thing and I loved that she was willing to do whatever she needed to do to make a home for herself.
Graham was a bit of a cocky jerk but at the same time he was a great dad to Allie and he really did his best with her. I really loved the friendship that began to form between Allie and Madison as it gave Allie a new outlet and someone to talk to. Graham was interesting in a sense that he seemed to look at life a certain way and was closed off in other ways.
There was lots of chemistry between Madison and Graham but Graham was really holding off as he wasn't looking for a serious relationship. That being said Madison was slowly becoming more important to Allie which began to cause some conflicts.
I was super happy when Janet called Graham out on his behavior and attitude with Madison!
I was super happy that Wilbur, Madison's dog, was able to come to the rescue and get help when it was needed which forced Graham to come to terms with how he felt!
The end was awesome and I am looking forward to what's next!
This is book one in The Light My Fire Series and it is Graham and Madison's story and what a great start to a new series. When Madison's father was charged for fraud and her mother blamed Madison for not putting it right and all her so called friends didn't want to know her any more she decided to go to Alaska to the lodge that her grandfather had left her when he died and she decided that she would take the time to see what she wanted to do next with her life, so with her dog Wilbur they made the journey stopping occasionally and that was when she met Graham a handsome man that she couldn't stop staring at him. Graham was blown away by his reaction to Madison who was a beautiful woman travelling with her cute and friendly dog Wilbur but Graham didn't have time for attraction of distractions as he was a single father to his daughter Allie who was a real spitfire so between his daughter and his as a fire fighter in Willow Brook there wasn't time for anything else. Graham and Madison had such a strong connection and the chemistry between them was so hot that you can feel it sizzling of the pages of this book and I absolutely loved Graham's daughter Allie as she was so friendly, feisty, kind, caring and got on with everyone and Graham was such an amazing father. Omg I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive and a real page turner that had you on the edge of your seat wondering what else would happen between Graham and Madison and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. J H Croix is an amazing author and writer and I absolutely love her books so much as she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention. I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the first book in the series and gives you so much too look forward to. A great chemistry between the characters, a great father daughter relationship, and finding yourself after a life disaster.
Madison's life as she knew it blew up from under her when her father was charged with stealing money from clients within his company. As one of the main witnesses against him, she is struggling. Loosing her fiancé just days after everything happens, she quickly sees she was once again used. Deciding a new life is just what the doctor ordered, she jumps ship and heads to Alaska where her Grandfather's home is that he left her. Will she survive the move from Houston to Alaska with her cute little Corgi? Will she miss the hustle and bustle of life as she new it?
Graham is a wonderful single father, raising Allie since she was a month old alone. Her mother deciding a month into things that motherhood and Alaska just weren't for her. Thanks to his parents and great friends/co-workers he has been able to be what she needed. He often worries about her not having a woman figure in her life and tries so hard to be what she needs, its cute to see him struggle with the girlie things. A new promotion leaves him even less time for things like relationships and finding a partner.
When Madison and Graham have a chance meeting outside of town, they both expect they will never see each other again. Man did karma have so much more in store for them. But as much as neither are looking for more, they are drawn to one another, a little girl thriving for a friend, and a cute little pup certainly don't help they keep the distance. The town and atmosphere just add to the story and draw you in. Overall a nice sweet romance for a relaxing read. A strong set up for the next book to keep you wanting more.
