Accepting fate is the only way forward.

Cait
I thought I knew what I needed, but all it took was one kidnapping and a near-death experience to show me how wrong I’d been. Wrong about my new life, the people in it, and who I was supposed to be.

I’m finally the supernatural I was meant to be—even if things hadn’t gone as planned. Now, it’s time to release my control and see what happens when I let go.

Roman
Losing Cait awoke a fear inside me I’d never known existed before. She’s become more than I ever expected and yet, nothing is working out how I wanted.

Trouble awaits us at every turn and the harder I try to protect Cait, the worse things seem to get. When left with no other choice, I’ll have to trust fate even as everything is falling apart around us.

OMG. It's like I want to make myself suffer. I've learned to hate this series because I've pushed myself through it. The annoying thing is that I actually quite like the writing. The overall world the author built is interesting and dangerous. I just can't find it in myself to like the heroine.

In this book Cait has gotten much better but I still dislike her. She's at least open to giving Roman a chance and taking things slow (which is what Roman wanted since the beginning). Her wolf however is a stuck-up *ss. I'm sorry but just because you live multiple lifetimes doesn't mean you get to be a b*tch. Her wolf seems to think that Roman will solve everything and that he's their savior in some ways. It's too much and I hate it. The wolf also doesn't care to actually teach Cait to defend herself because according to the wolf, "it'll come naturally". Like coolcoolcool but if Cait is getting kidnapped and panicking I'd really like to make it so she knows what she has to do to help herself and not depend on luck because we both know she has none at this point all things considered.

Roman was great and so was Cait's BFF and the people she's close to in the pack. As I said the world the author created is great! I'm pretty sure I would have devoured this series had it not been for my dislike of the heroine. So take this so-called review with a grain of salt? 😅

Storyline picks up where we left off flawlessly. Some added emotional touches and new interesting characters are weaved in. There is still a lot of mystery to be solved by the end, pulling me hard toward picking up book 3.

Cait is more accepting, thankfully. We have reached the point of being grateful for her status change from human to supernatural. More importantly we see her acceptance of Roman and their bond. Only thing I wish I had found here was some steam. There was a little sizzle but that is as far as we got.

Great storyline. Just enough questions answered with just enough mystery remaining to hook a reader.

Happy reading,
DD 💕

I’m actually really enjoying this series.
It’s a breath of fresh air from the usual fantasy I read.

I love the progression of the characters all of them even the side characters, their relationships strengthening.
I love the fact that as cait learns the world so do we right along with her.

Based on how the first book ended and this one began, Roman and Cait’s romance escalated too quickly. The last thing she did was reject him then as soon as she sees him she wants to get physical? That just didn’t make sense. At least take some time to get to know each other first because nothing really changed and their chemistry was still shaky. Then again the MCs are so one dimensional that there’s not much to learn 🤷🏽‍♀️

So just like the previous book, this one was somewhat interesting but still boring?? The plot is all over the place and doesn’t quite make sense. Also some character’s decisions didn’t make any sense at all (Roman’ parents & Cohen) So I’m just going to stop here. Don’t see this series getting any better.

The second book in the series had a lot more action and magic going on. We find out what's going on with Cait and her powers (though it seemed to me like the author changed her mind and did some backtracking) and see her become a member of the pack. There's also several fights and I appreciated seeing Cait step up and defend herself and her friends.

The supernatural world expanded a bit in this one and we got to see more witches and a vampire. I'm hoping in the final book we'll find out why the wolves have such a problem with vampires, other than they drink blood lol. I also want to know exactly what is up with the council and if they're the ones manipulating everyone.

Finally, I was very happy to see Cait change her tune and accept Roman. He's a good guy and deserves a partner who loves him back and will fight for him. Maybe a mating in the next book?

Wolf Taken is the second installment in the Luna Marked series. It's definitely interesting when the first book of a series ends up being your favorite. Even though we did get more magic, action, and information about the world and the supernatural living within it. I just somehow got bored quite easily while reading this.

Cait is officially a member of the pack. She also starts to step up in being able to defend and protect herself. The only thing that confused me was her powers, but I did like getting to know her wolf. I also really enjoyed getting to meet some of the witches and a particular vampire.

Other than that, the romance also stepped up in this one. They are finally accepting one another. I just think I needed something more from this and I'm not sure of what exactly. Maybe I will find that in the next and final book? Not sure though.

Heather Renee has written an amazing series! It somehow gets better and better with each book which doesn’t seem possible since I love each book so much. Roman and Cait’s relationship grew so much in this book and you also saw a growth in Cait’s character. You were able to see her strength. Of course Roman was swoon worthy (#mategoals). I am so excited for Wolf Mated!

Well Cait stopped nagging 2.5 stars

This book was a bit better than the 1st one. Cait stopped her shinning and nagging about the supernatural world. What a relief. But she flipped the switch a little to eager. She went from hot to cols way to fast so we missed the depth and build up between her and Roman. I mean on the day she died he had his hands down her filthy pants.... I mean that literally, it had been days since she showered because she was held captive in like a dirty basement. Gag!!! But once I figured there would be no in between, i accepted the relationship between Cait and Roman the book wasn't too bad. The pack is still non existent. 100+ members and none of them are in this book. None of the random pack characters they threw in the last book popped up. Idk maybe a convo between Cait and Jerome would of been nice, she did save his life after all. But nope. No exes. No other friends except family and the beta. So the world is deff lacking. But I like her wolf, wolfette cracks me up. More depth could of made this book so much better but it's actually not a bad storyline. I mean throw in a scene with pups or something, a high school friend an ex hook up a mean girl..... something.

This book made me feel all kinds of ways. I went from smiling to laughing to even crying. I couldn’t stop until I knew how it ended. The characters all grew as the story progressed and made me fall more and more in love with it.

After her kidnapping Cait has changed with more power and acceptance of Roman.
Cait seems to have done a quick turnaround of feelings which is both good and bad.
During this book she is learning her new powers, more about pack life and what it entails.
There is a fair amount of action in this book as well as magic and the reappearance of characters.
I’m not sure if I really liked the changes in attitude that Cait went through as everything was so quick but I did enjoy the book although not as much as the first (almost as much)
It was a quick, easy, fun read. And I will read the next book quickly.

One addictive series that will have you flipping through these pages! This is absolutely unputdownable as the danger increases and the pieces start to fall together to form a plot that is spectacular! We see more emotional depth and sides to these characters that makes you want to fist pump into the air. This is what a well written shifters series looks like!

Cait learns that her fate has been accelerated beyond what was originally planned for her. She faces her fate with determination and acceptance while her greatest regret was pushing her mate away and the possibilities that a life loved could have given her. This picks up right from where book one left us. And all the feels will be felt as Cait takes this predestined journey. She is full of surprises and learns that she is just as capable as her foes. And that her passions are well met.

Roman is one drool worthy dude. He absolutely fulfills his role as book boyfriend quite well. He's enraged and ready to make the enemies pay for taking what is his. His alpha vibes pulse from these pages and it's delightfully delicious! He shows restraint when needed but he's not afraid to voice what he wants.

Heather Renee has given us covers that you'll want upon your bookshelves and a series that will leave you begging for more. The well executed history and pacing of these scenes makes this phenomenal storytelling. Don't miss out on this!!

Whoops totally forgot to update my review here. I was really sick during this time period so my review is super short. But please don’t take that as a negative against the book. I absolutely adored it and love it to pieces.

Incredible!!! You’ll be left wanting more! This story just continues to get better and to pull you in. I absolutely loved every minute of it! The characters are everything and you cant help but love the connection they have with one another. I truly loved the development and each stage this story went through. Cannot wait for more!!! So if you loved book one you are going to devour the second instalment and crave more!💜

Interestingly boring.

And a bit choppy? I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this one. The story continues where it left off in the first book pretty fluently. Roman’s character developed further and more than I expected him to. The MC had growth too but it was interesting and strange? That’s the best word I can think of. I did enjoy the sexual tension and spice. The plot however seemed to be all over the place. I still enjoyed the story and seeing how the characters reacted and grew.

Shifter/Supernaturals/Fated Mate

SYNOPSIS (of 3 BOOKS SERIES): FC is a human who suddenly becomes “lunar marked” and develops powers. As a result she is hunted by others for her powers. The MC is a pack Alpha and her fated mate. After initially fighting the fated mate bond the FC gives in. The books cover the development of the FC/MC relationship and bonding as well as how they fight against those who seek to attack the FC and take her power. There is a single story arc which covers two protagonists - first one is dealt with then this leads to the second and bigger protagonist. There’s a few dramatic showdowns with the final one at the end of Book 3 with a HEA.

The story was written well and flowed but ultimately was weak, unoriginal and did not really grab me. Whilst there were dramatic moments and fights these seemed too easily resolved. There was no development of any angst or drama which meant no real story build up and I wasn’t pulled in. Whilst the characters were nice enough they seemed to lack depth - again, there was a lack of character development. The story felt a bit “by the numbers”. By that I mean it was as though the author was ticking off milestones of a storyline that has been done multiple times by other and better: the FC suddenly becomes lunar marked (no real explanation as to why she was chosen) - she easily accepts the explanation that shifters exist and quickly gets a handle on her powers; then she’s hunted and tortured but the description of these events is almost superficial especially the apparent torture - the FC recovers quickly with no apparent trauma and then the villain essentially delivers himself to the FC/MC and the showdown is quickly over. The FC has a sudden change of heart and decides to honour the fated mate bond when it suddenly transpires that there is a bigger corruption at the Supernatural Counsel level. This story development is pushed into the narrative simply through some vague anecdotes of people being taken and powers being hoarded there’s no real evidence of any wrongdoing or what exactly the big bad is. Then again, simply through a conversation with one couple, it is determined that there is a big bad witch/wolf hybrid but again, no evidence as to how they know this is the case or what exactly this person has done or wants. Irrespective of this the MC decides to pull other supernaturals together to have a big fight against the counsel and the hybrid. Again, this happens quickly, no one really pushes back on going to battle and the final showdown is over quickly with the big bad just waiting around to be fought (apparently). There’s no real understanding of how the hybrid came to such apparent power which was sufficient to single handed defeat the counsel and if they were really that powerful how were they beaten so easily?

The initial pushing back on the fated mate bond and the behaviour of the FC towards the MC quickly became annoying and although the author tried to explain this behaviour as the FC wanting control it didn‘t make any real sense. Not least that she could not seem to be bothered to even be nice to the MC and to see what may or may not be there. The sudden change of heart then made this behaviour even more ridiculous.

The sex scenes were lukewarm at best and again, did not really engage. Considering there were 3 books there was a real lack of depth, story building or drama. Ultimately, whilst an OK read this was weak, superficial and a storyline that has been done better by others.

Well, okay, so this didn't end on quite the cliffhanger that the other one did, but there's still definitely stuff left open.

I can't decide if I liked Cait's attitude switch or not. On the one hand, it was great that she wasn't actually fighting things anymore, but on the other it seemed like she was leaning so far into not fighting that she kind of circled back around to it. I was glad that she did start looking at things and started trying to look at it from the wolf side. Not saying that she needed to rush into things but still. I did think the magic she's got is interesting and it seems like there's still more to come.

Roman was still decent. He still seemed to be willing to take stuff slow-ish with Cait although I think that's more because he knows she's not leaving anymore so he's got time to figure her out. That being said, he definitely realized how she views things and the best way to approach things with her. I can't quite determine if his whole "I still have to give you punishments for putting me in my place" is supposed to be like an alpha thing or if it's supposed to be the kinky side of things. Either way is fine but it kind of felt like that aspect couldn't decide which side to fall on.

This book definitely took off, and while there was a lot of action, it kind of felt like we didn't really get much info. We found out that Cait's path was accelerated due to bad magic and things that everyone knew about the supernatural community aren't what anyone thought anymore, but that kind of was half implied in the last book. I want to know more about Sam because that whole thing with the rock was said that souls are trapped there while someone borrows their body, yet they got Sam back without having to find her body. So did Lucinda do something that pulled her body from wherever or what? Speaking of Lucinda, I want to know more about she and Fin because that help can't be just dropped like that. And why do I get the feeling that Zeke's going to play a bigger part than just a vampire who offered help?

If you loved Wolf Kissed then get ready for Wolf Taken! Picking up from that epic cliff-hanger at the end of book one, we are back with Cait & Roman and this one had my heart running with the wolves. Cait has been pushing her mate away and after quite the transformation on her part, she can’t keep her hands to herself any longer. Thank goodness for that because I was about to challenge her for Roman. How can Roman be so absolutely alpha but still the sweetest man in the world with the patience of a saint? Seriously, he gets all the gold stars. Not only is he the sweetest but when his mate is in danger, he lets the wolf out and IT. IS. DELICIOUS.

"𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐩 𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈'𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭."

I couldn’t put Wolf Taken down. The stakes are higher, the magic is palpable, and the danger is next level. The energy with these books and the realistic flow is what draws the reader in. I felt like I know these characters; right there with them in the middle of all the action. We’ve already dived so deep into this world and it’s only book 2. I can’t wait to see where Book 3 takes us. It’s promising to be an epic journey full of new supernatural creatures with even higher stakes. At the end of Wolf Taken, Cait and Roman are taking control of their lives and hunting down those that are threatening them and I, for one, know it’s going to be an addictive and explosive ride.

"𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐭. 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭."

I love that this story starts with a map. This book picks up where the first one left off. Cait had been abducted and is tied in a basement in the West Texas Pack with Alpha Cohen. The uncle to her mate and the Alpha Roman, she was within the East Texas Pack. This book is from a dual point of view, jumping between Cait's and Romans' perspectives. Like the previous book, this one is full of prophecy and magic. It is paranormal to all books but also contains fantasy aspects. Be ready for wolf shifters, Witches, and more. Cait rediscovers herself after an untimely fate and vows to do it right this time. She and Roman are steamy. The action in this book gets intense as they unexpectedly get revenge.

This book is a fantastic read. I love seeing Cait and Romans' relationship and her confidence in her new supernatural abilities. Roman is a powerhouse of an alpha, but he is so kind and caring to his mate. Cait is a different person in this book than the first one, but I loved seeing her get out of her own way and accept the life she now has. I'm kinda sad it took death and so much turmoil to trigger it, but it was a great story.
I look forward to reading the last book in this series when it is released.

Wolf Taken is the phenomenal second installment to the Luna Marked series which is AMAZING! I mean that cliffy at the end of Wolf Kissed was jaw dropping and this book was definitely the follow-up we all wanted. In this book, Cait has finally grown some sensibility, granted she was forced into some horrible situations, but it has served her well. She has come to understand that bonded mates don't impose or curtail your freedom, they don't weaken you; they empower you. Sorry that she had to learn it the hard way but at least lesson learned. We finally get to see their bond strengthen and even though Cait has finally accepted her fate, poor Roman is still so insecure about what she will decide. My heart just breaks for him every time Cait is going to make reference to staying or leaving. On the more magical side of the story... WOW. Heather Renee knows how to twist and turn a story to keep us on our toes, yearning for more. The magical twist in this story completely surprised me, I had no idea what was coming. I cannot wait for the next installment because I seriously have dreams about Cait and Roman, wondering what is coming for them next.

Wolves, purple magic, and adventure oh my!

What a book!! I loved book one and didn’t know with all of the secrets mysteries and cliffhanger how it was going to go in book 2 but I was taken for a ride that’s for sure! This is a wolf shifter paranormal romance with plenty of angst, mystery, and action! I loved how much of an adventure this series has taken us on so far. Cait is figuring out so much and still learning the ropes of the supernatural society. She has a couple people in her corner that she can depend on like Embry and Roman but not everyone can be trusted or safe. Roman is amazing and cares so much about Cait throughout the entire book. His care and love for her is so beautiful. Their banter and push and pull was even better in this book, they finally are on the same page and are embracing their future together whatever that entails. There are hilarious side characters and they’re all interesting enough that I want their own story. Cait and Romans’s adventure and love story is far from over especially with that cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see how the next book goes.

I think I like Cait a bit more in this book - she still isn’t my favorite but I did like how the Moon Goddess explains why things had to happen a certain way and it helped me appreciate the direction of the story a bit more. I had one major issue with this book - spoiler below - but I do think it was better than the first, and hopefully the third will be even better.

I was so annoyed with Roman’s parents for suggesting they would leave the pack and go to the enemy pack to try and figure out their plan. It made no sense - did they forget Cohen tried to kill his daughter like last week? And they acted like they were going to be accepted and welcomed with open arms, which obviously they found out in the next chapter likely wouldn’t have worked. I was annoyed because it seemed like they were undermining Roman and I can’t imagine the pack would have seen his parents (the previous alpha couple) leaving for another pack as a vote of confidence for Roman as alpha - so all in all it just seemed like a really stupid decision that the author included for intentional drama. Thankfully, I suppose it was very very short lived.

it was better, but still not loving it. Cait and Roman are okay, I just don't care about them or the issues as much as I know I should. I admit to giggling once or twice at Cait, she has her moments but her character just doesn't feel as natural or true. The side characters should be perfect and add to the characters, if possible become just as interesting...but their not.

The world should be well built, sounds like this is 2nd in the series universe. But it's lacking. Lacking in world build, for a second book it waters down the experience of the book. Don't know how to do it but just...it doesn't flow...

I will read the 3rd book, it's still an interesting plot...just feels like I've read better and this could have been better. Too bad I brought some of the other series. I hope they are better.

Spice wise there's more, there's descriptive and stuff, but maybe it's me but I would just breeze through and realise two paragraphs in some smut foreplay was happening, then would hop back to reread...and it's hot...but the whole book feels like so much work to read the smut parts just blur in...

Wolf Taken was a freaking amazing follow up to Wolf Kissed!! I am completely addicted and I’m love with these characters and their story!

We pick up right where book 1 ends and Cait is struggling with everything that is going down but she soon learns her fate and let me tell you she accepts and comes into it like a Queen! She also starts to finally give into her feeling for Roman and these two together *swoon* are so 🔥 Roman would truly destroy anyone and everything to protect his mate. We got to see both Roman and Cait’s growth throughout the story and I have to say Cait’s growth made my heart soar. The bond that has grown between these to is strong and unbreakable. Truly beautiful!

My heart truly broke for Roman at the end like tears down my face. My heart hurt! Heather Renee truly knows how to write a shifter romance to perfection. Great characters, phenomenal story line that keeps your attention the entire time… if you love shifters then you need to start this series ASAP! I cannot wait for the next book!!

Wonderful, wonderful story! Heather never disappoints. I love the character crossovers from the other series in this shared world.

The Witches ... Definitely creep-tastic! 😅😳

Roman is one hot as hell Alpha 😏🤤

It's a spicy meatball 🤌🏼🥵 (for me, for Heather's other stories) In her Mystics and Mayhem World they get spicier through the series. I'd say it's a 6 on the Romantic Content Rating System. Or 4/5 🌶

🎧 Audio: Again absolutely fantastic!! This dual narration is 👌🏼 perfect!

Wolf Taken (Luna Marked Book 2)

Wolf Taken (Luna Marked Book 2) ~~ If Book 1 lit the match, Book 2 sets the whole thing on fire. Cait is no longer just surviving she’s fighting back, even as everything she thought she understood is stripped away. The emotional weight in this book is heavy, painful, and deeply personal.

Roman is torn in half here duty versus desire, instinct versus love. And instead of making things easier, that internal war only makes their connection more volatile. The looks. The arguments. The moments where they almost give in… and don’t. The restraint is brutal and delicious at the same time.

Pack politics, betrayal, and power struggles tighten like a noose around Cait, and the danger feels real at every turn. I went back and forth between reading and listening again, and the narration amplified the tension every growl of emotion, every whispered promise, every unspoken threat. This book leaves you emotionally wrung out and desperate for the finale.

This is the second book in the Luna Marked series. Cait has been taken and Roman is frantic to find her and get her back. Cait has to go through a series of events before she can be rescued and return to Roman, most of them not something anyone would want to go through. In the end Cait is returned to Roman but will he be able to keep her safe and keep her by his side at the same time. The attraction between Cait and Roman is growing and both are having a hard time not being in each others presence. Cait is trying to deal with the fact that she is a werewolf and not human anymore as well as having a mate in such a short time frame. Trouble seems to be at every turn whether it's one of their own being taken or a rival pack trying to take over at any cost. I love this book. The characters are amazing and the story is unique. I plan to read this book again. If you love shifters this is a must read!
