How can you escape when everyone around you is keeping dark secrets and only you know the truth? Before Big Joe was killed, he told J.T. about a pouch hidden under his floorboards. Now J.T. and his best friend Rache—the smartest, fastest, and cussingest girl in fifth grade—have taken the pouch and discovered it’s full of photographic proof of the town’s leading citizens caught in dirty deeds, including Rache’s new stepdad. Together, J.T. and Rache make a decision that will change everything.

Taking the pouch and going on the run, the two kids flee the hometown they’ve always known on a canoe trip down the river. The bad guys are in pursuit, ready to do anything to cover their tracks and save themselves…even if it means hunting down and killing a couple kids who know too much for their own good.

Can J.T. and Rache find someone to help them expose the crooked sheriff and corrupt elitists captured in the photos? As they search for help among the people living along the water’s edge, how do they know who they can trust, and who may have more sinister motives?

Awesome read with awesome characters and storyline! Got into the book the first couple of pages. Two kids trying to do something right, just a wild imagination or a disturbed boy? You have to read and find out for yourself, or at least what you think. A definite must read!!!
