This is another great read from this series. Paris is back with new challenges to face and secrets are revealed. There’s action, adventure and a Fairy Godmother Agency to deal with, an agency who fights change! Love the storyline, love the characters, well most of them anyways, love the humour and I cannot get enough of this series!
Let me say that me writing this review is a big deal for me. I have over a thousand reviews which I have intended to write on books that I have utterly loved. However, I am always so anxious to get to the next book that I want to read that I just”put it off for a moment.” In practice this translates to postponing indefinitely. Nothing has changed. At the moment, I have at least ten books I want to read simultaneously. However, I was moved beyond belief in this instance to stop and make the time.
At the end of his first published book, the co-author (and instigator of the adventure we readers call LMBPN Publishing) wrote a set of very personal “author’s notes” sharing a bit of his personal story and his creative process, destroying the invisible wall between actors and audience. Since then he winds up every book he writes in the same way, a practice which all of the LMBPN authors have also adopted.
Now while this book is without a doubt a phenomenal read, and I’ll get to that in a moment, what compelled me to write this review were, in fact, the authors’ notes at the end.
Sarah’s notes had me literally laughing out loud, uproariously I might add, such that I startled people walking by on the sidewalk and had a neighbor looking out her window (I was sitting on the front porch, not laughing THAT loudly).
Quite unapologetically, Michael then led me straight into what can only be described as cackling. Now I’ve come to expect quite a lot out of Michael and his band of merry something or others, but public embarrassment wasn’t on that list. Well done, guys. Well done!
But Sarah wasn’t done yet. For whatever reason, I kept reading even through the acknowledgments.
I was moved to tears. I won’t say any more. No spoilers here.
However, I will say that we are often the worst judges of our own talent, either inflating (where we have none) or disparaging (when we were born to lead) our own inner greatness. Sarah and Michael, while in very different ways, you both clearly fall in the latter camp.
Oh yeah… About that book that incidentally just happens to be attached to the supplemental material:
Read it! It’s awesome. How’s that?
One last thing: while not strictly necessary, I suggest you read the series sequentially. It’s an awesome read, but the awesomeness multiplies exponentially when you read them that way. Let me explain:
Individually this is Book number 4, it’s awesome. Fair enough.
Similarly, if you read Book One, it’s awesome.
However, if you then immediately read Book 2, it’s it’s TWICE as awesome (1 X 2) as it would have been if read out of order.
I bet you’ve already figured the next parts out. Yep, Three is awesome but when read in order is (you guessed it) SIX times as awesome (3 X 2). And in order that obviously kicks book 4 all the way up to 24. And it just gets better from there.
This is because Sarah and Michael have created not just a story but rather a very rich universe filled with quirks and personality along with what feels like a fully realized history rich with individual personalities. Reading these in order gives you all of that. I might also mention, here, that this series is preceded by two other series on the Beaufont family each of which consists of 12 volumes. I’m not going to that math (but if I did it would make this book something like almost 21 trillion times more awesome then when read alone… 20 trillion, 907 billion more times, if you must know).
Now consider that I can’t even begin to count the different number of universes which Michael has either assisted in creating or created on his own, and you will quickly understand why it is highly likely that very soon all LMBPN titles will unfortunately be required to come with a warning label:
WARNING: MAY CAUSE READING ADDICTION. Symptoms include loss of sleep, blurry vision, compulsive need to purchase “the next one,” compulsive need to discuss “the next one,” compulsive purchases of any other “one” until “the next one” is out, loss of work time due to reading, loss of job due to loss of work time, loss of credit due to loss of work and compulsive purchases, loss of pouse due loss of credit, loss of work and compulsive purchases. If experiencing any of these symptoms immediately begin watching reality TV and contact a licensed therapist during commercial breaks.
You know what? Maybe you might wanna rethink this after all…
Once again, deepest thanks to both Sarah and Michael.
Again, I say, I love Paris Beaufont. She is feisty but her heart is true and good. Her side kick Faraday has secrets of his own and this book reveals them. They work well together. Now, they have the FGA- Fairy Godmother Agency to deal with as they investigate the changes occurring at the school. The FGA doesn't want change and one agent in particular is sneaky and wants to take St. Valentine's place. As always, it's Paris to the rescue but I can never understand how she gets away with all her shenanigans. We also meet old friends again in this book.
After beating the big bad I wasn't sure where this series would go with such a big evil being taken care off. DumDumDum, in steps a new insidious evil within the love industry and I actually visualise this one even better and I feel more of that classic bad guy from older films. Anyways this was a bit more touching as Paris has to now start looking at those around her more ,and we get a little more personable with the characters which seems to feel where we should be with the series at this stage. More mystery sleuthing to follow in the next instalment for me
Paris has her parents back, but...... She's worried how they will feel about her. There are some strange happenings going on in the world of love, who can possibly be behind this? Faraday has the chance to go back to where he came from, yay, or not so much. Amazing romp from start to finish. Read it, you won't regret it.
As Paris continues to learn to be a Fairy Godmother after saving the world and rescuing her parents, she has to cope with political shenanigans, murder and intriguing talking animals. I can't wait for the next in this fantastic series!
Paris Beaufont, is a fantastic character, well written in an amazingly clever way. This entire series of books has been incredibly snarky, funny and well written. If you haven't already read the books about her mother Liv and her Aunt Sophie, I thoroughly recommend you do so, as those books are just as exciting and lead onto this series. You won't regret it, I promise you, they're all a must read. Enjoy...
Paris and her friends just got the love meter to 30 and all of a sudden it is sinking fast. They now have to figure out what's causing it and at the same time put up with some FGA agents taking over classes and making problems for the Fairy Godmother College. Love these books because of the snarky characters and all the action and humor. I am looking forward to the next book.
So much is packed into one book. Faraday's secrets are reveled, there is corruption within the Fairy Godmother Agency, we get to meet Saint Valentine, Paris spends some time with her parents and friendships are strengthened. I love this series and it keeps getting better and better. Lots of action and Paris is caught right up in it- Paris is certainly Liv's daughter!
I love the Beaufont family stories, been following them since Liv, Sophia, and now Paris. But more than just the story (which is superb) I love the eternal feud between Tiny Ninja and Bird Killer 😆
Really enjoyed book four of the Paris series. Full of fun, action, love and best of all family. The fact that Sarah is able to keep coming up with cool, interesting books is wonderful. It's fun watching Paris grow. Read it, you'll be happy!
Paris at her best. Exciting, full of adventure, enemies that are not expected that are afraid of change. An excellent story about friends. Paris will do anything for her friends.
You know I’ve read you’re a tiny gal but your writing is huge! I love how this story has developed and am delighted my favorite squirrel is hanging around. Keep up the great work, chop, chop
Great and Exciting book from page one until the end! After so many books brought to us by these two talented people, some now they just seem to keep getting better! And the author notes are part of the icing ok the cake! I laughed at the doctors appointment and couldn't help but think of my own appointment coming up where my doctor's new nurses will one again be taking turns trying to get good from my of sadly rolling veins. Couldn't imagine feeling them to Chop! Chop! Lol. And I agree that Sarah needs to stay it of politics. But I say that for selfish reasons. I prefer thinking that she is had at work point it her next masterpiece! You're you bad a great visit with your Scotsman!
This is one of the most enjoyable books of the series so far, full of warmth and friendship. I am sad to have reached the end of the book and have already loaded the next in the series into my Kindle.
Paris is overjoyed to have her parents back but she can't see them yet as Papa Creola has put them into a deep sleep to get them acclimated back into the timeline. So Paris is getting stuck into her studies, until agents from FGA arrive to see how things run at the College.
However, one agent has a hidden agenda and wants to overthrow St Valentine........
Paris continues to be herself and questions everything and puts her own spin on being a Fairy Godmother. Her ways are unconventional, but they do work.
Faraday's history is revealed.....
Ms Noffke weaves yet another fantastic story and it was a joy to read - and yes, I needed tissues again.......
Loved it! Paris has demon blood and only two people she trusts know it well supposedly. The agents of the FGA start showing up to the school and some are teaching. The love meter is going down so Paris, Faraday and Christine are on a mission to find out why. Oh and someone tried to poison Saint Valentine!
Life got in the way of my reading this book in one go, but it was such a great story, that I loved reading it, even in the few minutes, here and there, that I could.
As usual, Paris is in top form in this story and, with a lot of help from the friends she'd never thought to have, there in the Fairy Godmother college, she was able to start her discoveries into who was trying to take down Saint Valentine.
I really loved the characters in this book. There's Faraday, the Squirrel, of course, but it turns out that his story is one that Paris had totally not expected - nor I - and she spends some time helping him, and his two, unexpected, companions and, in her willingness to do so, Paris wins the love and approval of a friend for life.
I loved all the skulduggery going on here, too, as Paris, Christine, and Faraday go undercover to find out the truth, and I can't wait to learn more about who's really behind the low ratings on the Love machine!
I've totally fallen in love with the Beaufont sisters. They are wonderfully imaginative, brave in their fights for justice, and total badasses when fighting against evil. They also have hearts big enough to save the world, which they seem to do with a dizzying frequency!
With Paris being the mix that she is, I'm very much looking forward to seeing how she uses her advantages, to save Happily Ever After, for all of the creatures of the Earth.
So, I go on now, to book five: The Independent Fairy (and doesn't THAT describe Paris to a T?), and I'll catch you on the flip side, to tell you what I think of it! Lol
Paris’ parents are back but Father Time has them in seclusion until they can acclimatize to the timeline. While everyone waits patiently to be allowed to see Liv and Stephan, Paris has to once again discover the cause of and deal with a falling love metre, as well as trouble from the Fairy Godmother Agency. We also learn more about Faraday and some of his secrets are revealed. This book has action, humour, intrigue and some really great characters. The stories get better with each book that’s written and I love the rich universe the authors are continuing to create. I look forward to next one in the series and also to reading the hilarious authors notes
An agent from FGA is determined to undermine the updating the Fairy Godmothers and bring FGC back to its original roots. Back to power, money and prestige as the goal of love.
And now that her parents have returned, Paris is starting to regain her past. Her friends can finally tell her who she is. The more she learns, the more she can learn.
Fave scenes: Paris’s speech in the dining hall, Paris debating with Agent Topaz, meeting the stag and touching the poison berry.
I am loving this series...I've read all three of them so far and I think the author has an upbeat way of telling her stories. I'm always happy when I see the same characters in stories because it makes me feel like I am part of their world for a while. I think that if you like reading fantasy then you will like what this author has to offer...now...I have to go get book 5. 😉😁
Paris is loyal to a fault. She first directed her loyalty to her Uncle John, the underdogs and victims on Roya Lane. Now she has expanded her loyalty to many at Happily Ever After College, the mission to spread love and one talking squirrel. But will the squirrel get to stay in her time line? And does she find the true villain trying to sabatoge love?
This book/series deserves five stars because it is well thought out with very good dialogue, sometimes a little long-winded but necessary, quite funny, an interesting storyline and just a really pleasant read.
These are some of the best books I have ever read and that’s saying a lot because I read everything I can get my hands on Please continue to produce these books
