It will take a Yuletide miracle—and love—to break a witch’s curse.
Anders left the woman he loved to join the king’s army. On the way, a vicious storm forced him to seek shelter with a witch.
Don’t strike any bargains. He was familiar with the stories. Thought he knew how to keep himself safe—how wrong he was. A curse left him howling at cruel fate.
Alva promised to wait for Anders. He’d asked her to be his wife, but before they could marry, he was determined to prove his worth. Years passed with no visit. No word. Hope faded, and realization set in. Anders was not coming back, but could she move on?
Guntar would like her to—with him. He’s been courting her since his return, but she is leery of giving her heart. A decision made more complicated when she is forced to deal with the witch of Briar Forest - and possibly ruining her chance for a happily ever after.
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
A quite delightful mash-up of fairytales. I liked the fact that I found something wintery, Christmasy, well ... Yuley in the fantasy genre. I sorely want more books with supernatural holidays.
I very much enjoyed how the different, good, old, well-known Grimm tales were re-used in this book. It felt original and at the same time very familiar at the same time. It was fun.
I will gladly return for more stories in this world in the future.
True Love wins all! Well, it was in doubt, and there is quite the story around it, but I was happy to be in a story that didn’t follow a known path. Much like the way to grandmother’s house. This very loosely based tale on Red Riding Hood took twists, turns, directions, and ways where you couldn’t predict what was going to happen next. Even when you had some idea what was going on, you didn’t know how things were going to work out, or how, or who, or even why. It was glorious and wonderful and I squeaked in happiness when I heard at the end this is turning into a series. Loved it and can’t wait for more tales!!!
4.5 stars. The plot to this story is interesting. 1/2 a star less because for me, I prefer a romance book and one where I can watch the relationship grow between the MC’s. This one doesn’t have that. Alva and Anders already loved each other form the beginning and they were separated until the last 1/3 of the book. But the story and plot was interesting enough to have me finish listening to the book.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Loved almost all of the characters and loved the storyline so much. Alva loved Anders for so long that when he left and didn’t come back she grieved for 3 years. Then goes to live in the forest with Grandmother. She stayed there until Anders was revealed once again. She and Anders stayed in the forest and lived happily ever after lol. On to the next story. 😊😊😊😊😊💜💜💜💜💜🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
2.75⭐️ This book aint have shit to do with Yule. It was deadass just The Little Red Riding hood with some pizzazz. Also 2/10 on the romance aspect. Neither of these men deserve to be with anybody. One is a whore and the other is too hung up on what people think of him to be worth the time. I find I’m FULLY entertained by Grandmother. She was quite fair in my opinion. And her lessons were FIRE!! She was the best part of this story. This book basically was like 3 or 4 fairytales in one.
In this holiday story, a baker's daughter is left behind by the young man she loves in order to try and better himself before they are wed. Unbeknownst to her his promise to return has been broken by a deal made with a witch. Will true love find its way back or is she doomed to settle for someone else. Loved it.
This is not a bad version of little red riding hood. The woods man is evil, the wolf is kind if good, and Grandmother isn't so grand motherly. I really enjoyed this story.
A little different from what I expected from this author. Loosely based on fairy tales, this one follows Alva, who is apparently based on Red Riding Hood. I will be looking for more in this series.
