With so many new things coming to light, Dusk and his friends find themselves captured and imprisoned in Calendia, the capital city of Inahan. It seems the queen has requested a special audience with Dusk, knowing that he carries the Crystal Eye with him. For a brief moment he thinks he can outsmart her, playing into the distrust between her and the Circle. But when all the cards are laid on the table, Dusk realizes the queen has more tricks up her sleeve than he anticipated. As she guides him down into a dungeon under the castle, he begins to wonder if he’ll ever see the light of day again.

The Crystal Key was a truly marvelous book. The Crystal Heart is interesting but looses some of the magic displayed formerly. One detail is disturbing, in particular. Like in the Crystal Archivist, the main twist in the plot seems too foreseeable. The story starts to be a little repetitive. Nevertheless, Dusk remains endearing.
Another enjoyable installment! The Crystal heart deepens the Crystalline Chronicles’ already rich plot and gives Dusk’s journey more emotion than before. I enjoyed the action, mythology humor and romance. I highly recommend this series to fantasy lovers. I’m looking forward to the final installment.
Writing seems to be getting better, but the author seems more concerned with the character's pronouns than with their actual character. Sort of a Swiss cheese of a plot that to be honest I can't really remember at this point. Will keep skimming to find out how all this ends, I suppose.
