It’s been five months since The God Among Men disappeared off the planet. Wysdom Ward is trying to find him while simultaneously building her new private investigations business.
Women are the ultimate multitaskers. AmIRight!?
She has zero leads until she discovers a cryptic clue left behind by her brand-new boyfriend. He tells her to run for her life, but she’s never been one to follow the rules.
To save her soulmate from a terrorist organization, Wysdom will jump into a world of secret military contractors, knife-throwing badasses, missing dry cleaning, and 55+ retirement communities where they preach “no glove, no love.”
Wysdom must face off with a terrorist mastermind to save the love of her life and her family.
Another good read from Ms Dugle. Lots of sexy scenes, kicka**ness and crime stopping from our lovebirds. The prologue picks up right where they left us hanging but with Luke’s POV. Luke has voluntarily been kidnapped to save his loved ones lives and get to the bottom of the mole in his operation. Except he didn’t realize he was going to be tortured for 5 months waiting on Wysdom to figure out the clue he left him.
Lots of action in this second read in the series gave me vibes from the movie TAKERS. Loved it. Let’s see what’s in store for Ms Wysdom and Mr God Among Men.
A Counterfeit Midlife Crisis was a perfect follow-up to A Hot Flash of Homicide: Flamingo Cove Book One. The wise-cracking Wysdom Ward is back and more badass than ever. As a fellow Ging.... err... redhead, I approve. Sock it to 'em, lady.
On a more serious note, this plot is high-octane all the way. From the opening chase to the final facedown, Wysdom is not letting up when it comes to solving the case and saving her PERSON. I thoroughly enjoyed her snarky outlook despite the desperate situation and was satisfied with the *fans face* happy ending ;)
Can't wait to see Wysdom's next big life adventure in A Crazy Midlife Miracle!
Dawn Dugle is back with the next book in the Flamingo Cove series.
Luke (also know as the God Among Men) has been missing for what seems like forever. Wysdom knows he has left her some sort of clue but try as she might she's not been able to figure it out.
Finally a breakthrough leads her to a clue. Gathering her posse (also known as her uncle) she's heads out to bring him home.
In true Dawn Dugle style, this book is a hot mix of the perils of perimenopause, romance, and suspense. Oh, and lots and lots of laughs.
Can't wait to find out what Wysdom gets herself involved in next.
I loved the first book in Dawn Dugle’s Flamingo Cove series, but the latest book, Counterfeit Midlife Crisis is even better—more suspenseful, funnier, more action-packed & more erotic. Ms. Dugle operates in the magic intersection of police procedural, spy novel, romance, and flat-out M/F slash novel. She’s my new favorite author.
Thoroughly enjoyable. Great summer read relaxing and sipping a cocktail. Love the humor of our heroine and very relatable as women who suffered through all phases of menopause. thank you Dawn. Can’t wait for #3.
I’m loving this series! Wysdom is sassy, bad ass, cranky, and 40. I love that the FMC is bad ass on her own and older. You don’t see a lot of MC like this. Her man Luke is just as bad ass and everything a woman would want with flaws to make him real. The action and mystery of the books blend well and I’m not mad she’s left us at another cliffhanger since so much gets wrapped up and it’s just setting us up for book 3. Diving into book 3 now!
As a woman in my late 40’s I thoroughly enjoyed this fun, fast-paced, filled with Gen X references, spicy mystery. Wysdom is funny, smart, confident, and knows what she wants. She’s past the mistakes she made in her 20’s and shes embracing the life she has. Look forward to reading the next installment in the Flamingo Cove series.
Dawn Rifle brings it all together....romance, comedy and mystery. The Saber and Ward families combine to make it all happen, in Florida, where everything is possible. I love that the characters are middle aged, and bring some experience with them I'm glad I found these books and this author.
Funny, kept me captivated and I want to read the next book
Dawn Dugle has written another great story. It is a bit mystery, a bit romance and a bit humor all rolled into one. I would definitely read this series in order to really get to know the characters and truly appreciate the story line. Can’t wait to see the story in book 3.
Luke has gone and Wisdom has been left to figure out where he went. He didn't just leave her, he left to protect her and his family. He left a very cryptic voice message but she just can't figure it all out.
Well this is Wysdom and nothing is ever simple 😂😂
This will have you gripped, I literally didn't want to put this down and once finished went straight into the next book lol
This book came about from a question: What if the guy you were dating suddenly ghosted you with a weird breakup message? Would you believe it?
Wysdom Ward doesn't and believes she will find the God Among Men if she just tries hard enough. Along the way, she meets some more real characters in Flamingo Cove, goes undercover at a retirement community, and stumbles upon a plot that's bigger than Luke or her.
Yes, there's a TAD bit of a cliffhanger at the end - but I believe a heroine should get her happy ever after in stages. This is step two. Hang with me, it's going to be a fun ride to the end!
