A shocking revelation. An explosive coup. It’s harder than ever to decide who to trust.
Left reeling by the events of Zones Day, Jasper flees into the treacherous gravity zones with the outsider, Ryan, and the feral boy, Grammar, who will lead her to a location only he knows and a secret she hopes will save her life. But now they are being hunted by a fanatical army and a leader who will stop at nothing to get his revenge.
At the heart of the zones the mysterious figure of the Guardian awaits them. She holds the key to the Tower and Jasper’s untested, dangerous cure. Jasper needs her help, but the Guardian has her own plans.
Meanwhile Jasper grows closer to troubled ex-soldier Ryan Latrans, though she knows she shouldn’t. Her future is too uncertain, and Ryan is fighting demons of his own. If he can’t find a solution to his dilemma, Jasper will pay the price.
Old hatreds, relationships, and nightmares from Jasper’s dark past are stirring up turmoil in her plans and her heart. How can she fight for hope when her past threatens to drown her?
She/her, coffee drinker, cat mama, basketball fan, very occasional artist, queen of the north, etc. And oh, yeah, I write books.
I grew up in Nova Scotia but now live on the opposite coast in Vancouver, Canada. Oceans—I need ‘em. I have an absurd number of siblings, one cat, two kinds of houseplants that (so far) have refused to die in my care, a Toronto Raptors onesie, and a tendency to trample over anyone standing between me and Korean food.
I’ve been writing stories since I was so young that someone had to tell me what quotation marks were. Blew my mind. I have loved writing dialogue ever since. My stories explore characters and the density of relationships in which we are all embedded. I focus on themes of healing, hope, the family you find, and the search for connection.
Gravity Curse (Book 2 in the Gravity Shattered series) is a great example of a sequel being even better than the first book! I could not put this book down. I found the characters, their struggles, their haunted pasts, and their relationships with one another completely engrossing. The premise of gravity being shattered—where “down” is unpredictable anywhere you turn—is thrilling. I can totally see this being brought to the big screen someday. Looking forward to the next book in the series!
Me: This series can't possibly get any wilder. Gravity Curse: hold my beer.
It's like the world in quarantine in shattering along with Jas as the relative peace of the settlements (maybe not peace, maybe more like ceasefire) is thrown out with the gravity when a coup occurs.
Jas sets out into the Zones to both escape the madness and complete the quest she started in the first book. But, of course, there are things in the Zones far more dangerous than unreliable gravity.
Another wild pulse-pounding adventure in the Gravity Shattered series. Can't wait for the next installment.
