I had no clue what this book was going to be about seeing as I couldn’t find a blurb anywhere, it almost seemed like this book doesn’t exist. Based on the cover and the title i assumed it’s likely about life in the countryside, sapphic farmers and whatnot. Turns out the main protagonists actually live in downtown Boston. Natasha is a 35 year old, recovering drug addict who teaches yoga at a community center. Sawyer is Barbie personified, she’s confident, loves pink and only recently moved to Boston. She is a light technician for theatre productions. Both meet at one of Nat’s yoga classes, they do have lots of sexual tension, but are lacking emotional connection. Throughout the book there was almost no character development, the story, although interesting and full of potential, felt flat. I felt as if I still didn’t know the characters even though I had almost finished the book. The ending, where they suddenly accept an aged out foster child in their home felt rushed and unexpected, there was no closure from all the events before.
