Meeting the perfect guy for the perfect hookup? Check. Wearing sexy-as-hell lingerie? Check. Breast cancer? Oh…fu—
Laney Jones—PhD, but she feels like a pompous ass reminding people of her English Lit degree because she’s a middle-grade teacher in Hardin, Montana—after being diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer and scheduling a lumpectomy, wants a wild, crazy, sex-filled night before the surgery. A night where she frees herself to be who she wants to be and do whatever the hell she wants to do. And who better to shed her inhibitions than a biker?
Joseph “Monk” Perez has been deep undercover for the ATF in a gun-running gang for the past four years. Tomorrow, he’ll make the biggest bust of his life. The biggest bust in history, period. Tomorrow, he’ll go back to some semblance of the by-the-book man he was before, even if he doesn’t recognize himself any longer. After tomorrow, he’ll start a life for himself. But he has to make it through tonight, and Laney is wrecking his years of training and focus, turning him into a puddle of mushy, romantic goo. She sees straight through his façade to the real him. As much as he loves being seen, it could ruin the bust, his career, or worse, end his life.
Montanan wildflowers are known for their strength to endure arctic winter blasts, hundred-degree blistering summer days, and wildfires, but they always return, more exotic and beautiful than ever. If Joe and Laney make it through the next twenty-four hours, they’ll have to summon the strength of All the Wildflowers in Montana when cancer and a deadly bullet wound become their shared realities or they might never know the most exotic beauty of all: love.
Red L. Jameson lives in the wilds of Montana. While working on a military history master’s degree, she doodled a story that became her bestselling, award-winning romance, Enemy of Mine, part of the Glimpse Time Travel Series. After earning her gigantic master’s—the diploma is just huge, she couldn’t stop doodling stories, more Glimpse stories—because she can’t get enough of hunky Highlanders and buttoned-down Brits—and other stories, a paranormal romance series and contemporary series, which grew into the pen name R. L. Jameson, under which she writes cerebral and spicy erotic romance. She’s currently working on another master’s degree, so who knows what she’ll doodle next!
Laney and Joe…if your heart doesn’t break and then burst for them, you don’t have one. The basics of the story, for me, is that both of them – singularly and together – are hitting very rough patches of life. Puny words to describe their traumas but without giving spoilers, it’s the best I can do. Personally, I give Laney a ton of credit for stepping wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out of her comfort zone to go looking for a human connection before her cancer surgery. And Joe…he is a deep undercover agent and it really isn’t the best time to meet that special someone, especially in a dang biker bar!
Their story is tender and filled with angst and worry and sorrow over missed chances…but somehow, some way, they get it right. Really grabbed me and I couldn’t stop reading. This author can make your emotions jump all over the place and be front and center. Loved, loved, loved this story and suffered with both Laney and Joe. They were SO worth it as a couple and I loved reading about them.
Laney Jones is a middle school teacher who was recently diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She made a small bucket list and decided to check off ones she could. She decides to check off Have a wild care free night. Will riding a motorcycle and biker being checked off that list? Review:
I really enjoyed this book. Clare does an amazing job on doing the accents and male and female voices. I enjoy MC/ Biker books but I wouldn’t classify this one as one since that’s not really a big part of this book. This book focuses on Laney’s breast cancer and coming to terms with it. My heart broke for her. Joe was a perfect book boyfriend, I normally like the Alpha personalities but joe was a perfect blend of caveman and sweet.
Laney and ‘Monk’ may be totally wrong for each other on paper, but their story will warm your heart and have you believing that anything is possible if we just take a chance.
Sure, the subject matter in All the Wildflowers in Montana is serious and at times, heart wrenching, but the author writes with compassion, gently tugging at your emotions throughout the book. I loved the way the main characters are portrayed in a mature and no-nonsense way—Laney with her future hanging in the balance, and Monk with his choice of lifestyle that he may never come to terms with. They are both a little broken, but still hopeful that life will take a turn for the better.
With its tough subject matter and richly written characters, the author has done an excellent job of putting you in the picture, and in doing so, has written another book that will stay with you for a long time.
All the Wildflowers in Montana is an exquisitely written, beautiful, and emotional romance. Red L. Jameson has a way with words and sure knows how to pull on the heartstrings. Laney and Joe (Monk) are incredible and memorable characters; I literally fell in love with them. Listening to their story, I felt an array of emotions, heartache, tears, swoon, happiness, sadness, and so much more. Laney's diagnosis reminded me to appreciate the little things in my life much more.
Superb narration by Clare Silver! She breathed life into Laney and Monk's characters and made the story even more engaging. All the Wildflowers in Montana is an excellent start to the Mustang Girl Trilogy. I can't wait to listen to the rest. I'm definitely recommending this audiobook.
God did I love this story! Two people with messed up pasts find each other at the complete wrong/right time of their lives.
Great audio apart from the awful take on the New Zealand accent. (So bad 🤣) but I’m biased being from NZ. The only reason I can’t give the storyline five stars is the slight inconsistencies (if real life) of what chemo and radiation does to the body in terms of breast feeding and future pregnancy. But well well well worth the read. I’m looking forward to hearing more about these two other fierce females Rose and Charlie in the next mustang girls books.
4.5 stars
Gifted audio in exchange for an honest review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Joe thinks Laney is strong because she stood up for herself when they met and because she's dealing with breast cancer on her own. I consider a lot of her actions to be weak. She goes along with her existing boyfriend because it's easier than breaking up. She lets her boss walk all over her and she doesn't tell her friends she has cancer.
Joe and Laney are attracted at first sight and have a bumpy path. They both have issues from childhood and neither can express their true feelings for a while. This is a love story but many things dragged it out longer than necessary. IMO, the boyfriend was unnecessary since he just slowed down their story.
What a beautiful love story between Laney and 'Monk'. I was fortunate enough to follow their epic tale in Audible, narrated perfectly by the talented Clare Silver who truly brought the story to life for me. This was my first dip into Red L. Jameson's writing and I am so glad I have discovered this book. I don’t wish to give any spoilers in my review but just wanted to add that the description in the blurb about the capability of the Wildflowers in Montana resonates so strongly with the narrative of this book and I definitely recommend you add this to your TBR list!
The bravery it takes to face life, and perhaps death, head on, is found in this sweet romance from Red L. Jameson.
Laney has faced a cancer diagnosis, and decides to live the night before her surgery in the arms of a stranger.
The man Laney chooses to spend the night with is Monk, a member of a motorcycle club. But Monk has a secret, and it's a big one.
I experienced this book through the Audible performance by Clare Silver. Beautifully and emotionally read, Ms Silver brings Laney and Monk to life, as well as All The Wildflowers in Montana.
This was a really good start to a series about three friends who have grown apart even though their bond remains as strong as ever.
Laney, the only one of the friends still in Montana, takes a critical look at her life after receiving a life changing diagnosis.
Writing a bucket list of things she will likely never do, is only one of the decisions she makes.
Another is ticking some of those items off! And so the adventures begin.
This book will make you swoon, curse and sob your heart out. It will make you recognise, without a doubt, that experiences impact your life. It will make you appreciate the 'good' that surrounds you and help you remember the 'bad' can be changed, if you make a stand.
I 'read' this book via audio and loved how Clare Silver brought this story to life, allowing some fabulous pictures to appear in my head of Laney, Joe and so much more besides.
I wasn't too sure at sure at start of this story, if the writing style would suit. There is a huge amount of internal thoughts, and that isn't a favourite of mine, but I soon realised that without it, this book wouldn't make sense. Laney and Joe meet when they are both at a low point in their lives, and even though they are complete opposites, there is an instant connection of mind and body. Laney has decided she needs a bucket list before surgery and ends up at a bar where undercover agent Joe is coming to the end of a dangerous case. I don't think you can read this book and not fall in love with these characters. They were both broken and still managed to find each other at the right time. I listened to this book as an audiobook and narrator Claire Silver does an amazing job. I couldn't help but get pulled into the story, feeling the heartbreak and feelings of each character. Her voices were perfect, and I loved the accents.
Well what can I say? This book is jam packed full of emotion. Red has written such a fantastic book here, not only has it got excitement, action and adventure it also has all the feels. With the combination of a great performance from Clare and Red’s words this book will change you.
This book was very different than what I usually read, but I enjoyed it. It was gifted to me by the narrator and my focus was on evaluating the narration, and I loved it. The tone was perfect and the inflections were just right, and I really enjoyed the narration.
The story follows a teacher who has a diagnosis of breast cancer and decides to have a one-night stand the night before her lumpectomy. She ends up meeting a "tough guy" who is working as an undercover agent and plans on making a really big move to bust the bad guys following that night.
The two hookup; however, they end up talking about everything and it looks like there may be more than a single night in their future.
The only thing I didn't like was how they talked about personal stuff during the sex scenes. I don't mean that in a shallow way but I felt like it was distracting from both perspectives and at times I wasn't clear on whether they were still engaging in intercourse, or they were passed that. Otherwise, I enjoyed the deep meanings of love, compassion, and empathy that the book espoused.
I listened to this on audiobook, and I really liked the narrator. She did both the main parts of the story, and did a good job with both the make and female voices.
