The blue horned alien says he won’t touch me. What if I want him to?

Ivy
Earth isn’t exactly paradise, not since the Coalition took control, but it was home... until Ivy’s brother shoved her on an alien ship to be a mail-order bride. The truth be told, she is better off without the murderous psycho, but that doesn’t mean she wanted to be thrust into the universe, totally unprepared, and she certainly won’t marry some horned alien.

She’ll make her own way back to Earth and stay far away from her brother and his criminal ties. Nothing will change her mind. Not even a tall, sweet, protective warrior who makes human males look like boys and the universe look much more appealing than she ever thought possible.

Quinnov
Quinnov’s alone in the universe. Except for his planet... war torn, burned out Zyan. No one in his family survived the war, except maybe his older brother Jaizon. Quinnov’s been searching for him since the war ended. But when he crosses paths with his heartmate, his priorities shift. To keep her safe from those hunting her, he may have to return her to her world, even though she makes his heart soar and both of his cocks harden.

I liked this sweet prequel. We find Quinn, Mak and Torin's missing cousin, who's searching the universe for his lost brother. What he finds instead is his sholani, Ivy. She is a firecracker full of ingenuity. Together they have to navigate through the perils of The Brotherhood and Coalition, plus self serving slavers. Quinn and Ivy had to make heart breaking decisions to save each other and hope that fate would give them their HEA in the end.

Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

4 stars!

This was an action-packed and sexy story of love and forgiveness between Quinn and Ivy. Quinn was such a sweet and protective hero, while Ivy annoyed me a bit with her constant doubt. Overall, it was an enjoyable story, and I look forward to reading more by Julie ♡

I didn't realize this was considered the prequel to this series, until I actually finished the book. That being said, this wasn't all that great a read for me. But now knowing this was a prequel, I may revisit the series for Makov's story, since his character was the most intriguing to me here..

Quinnov and Ivy started out strong, but it just faded into something not so deep. Too easy, not enough conflict. A simpleton/surface conclusion to everything, which made their couplings not all that intense for me.

Still I wanted to see how it ended, so there was that. Hence the 3 *** rating. Plus it was a quick read and free.

If I do return it will be for Makov, book 2, but not sure when I'll return for him.

Alien Claimed
By Julie Cohen.

I always love reading sci-fi paranormal or supernatural or simply about aliens.
No matter what book you get drawn to, being out in the galaxy with any number of different species and planets, it takes a while to accept what they look and sound like, the major differences can be found in the environment on each planet.
When you allow yourself to consider the major differences found with their bodies, it really gives us a chance to take a good look at what other male species are gifted with and what men back on earth are lacking, I find my mind gets boggled with the possibilities that can present themselves.
Alien Claimed was certainly a perfect example of just how any situation can be turned around if you’re willing to approach what you are faced with a kick ass attitude, so Ivy who had been tossed onto a “Mail Order Bride Ship" by her callous brother is amazed when she literally runs into a big muscle-bound blue warrior who had massive horns, as she attempts to flee her captors, trying to turn her luck around and take back control of her life.
Talk about trouble following someone,  no sooner had she disappeared off the ship Ivy finds herself being thrown into a pit to fight for her life, not against women but men, so who does she see become her knight in shining armour,..Yep!! Blue boy and the fight certainly took its toll on those who dared to touch a female in such a defiled way, Quinn's natural protective nature took over and let’s just say that even though he did take a couple of deep wounds he definitely came out of the situation far better than the other’s, their wounds had more of a permanent effect, they lost their lives for trying to touch what Quinn knew in his soul to be true, Ivy was his heart mate
But there was absolutely no way he would interfere with her happiness, if Ivy believed going back to earth would make her happy then he will do everything in his power to ensure she gets what she wants
These two characters balance each other beautifully, in fact their story and personality would make a terrific series especially with their cheeky bantering. It seemed like these two have a target on their backs right from the time they stepped onto Quinn's ship, Ivy and Quinn were certainly getting to know each other on a far more personal level, but it seemed as though someone out in the galaxy was determined to make sure they suffered, so we suddenly get pulled into Ivy's kidnapping, abduction, continued harassment with aliens wanting Ivy for themselves, plus having to watch their backs for anyone  connected to the military faction that Ivy"s brother is involved with, so it seems as though every step forward brings them non stop action, drama, calculated suspense along with mystery by the bucket loads.
This really has a touch of everything within it, so even though Ivy and Quinn suffer emotionally, they certainly know how to keep smiling when the chips are down.
I highly recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys paranormal or sci-fi as their personal favourites

Confusing

Where do I start? I guess I didn't recover from the unveiling of Quinn's two penises. The story had potential but something was missing as the book progressed. The characterisation of the heroine wasn't the best. One minute she was longing to return to earth where she was sold by her brother to aliens, then she being completely irrational while navigating alien planets Also she kept getting her clothes ripped off by aliens, like three different times. It was too strange for me and confusing.

I really enjoyed this sci-fi alien romance. The pacing was great, kept you engaged the entire book. The action, fight scenes, chase scenes were all good reads and the steamy scenes were pretty good. Very enjoyable.

Pretty good read!

Alien claimed was a pretty good read! This was my first Julie Cohen book and I'll definitely be giving her another go. The storyline was great, but it was a little slow in spots and the pacing seemed a bit off. I really liked the world building and the characters. They were both well developed, likeable, and had pretty good chemistry. Ill definitely give the next story a try.

Trope: forced proximity
Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Angst: 😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥
Triggers: attempted rape

This is a fantastic series starter! This is a fast paced introduction to a brand new adventure and a new author to me. I enjoyed the characters and the way they felt that instant connection, but like all good romance, they fight it until they can’t anymore. The author really took us on a wild ride, full of action and danger, and introduced us to characters that I can’t wait to see find their own HEA. This was the perfect weekend read, now on to book two.

Alien Claimed has the somewhat dubious honour of being my first piece of alien smut for the year.

What can I say? I liked the horns. And no, that isn't a euphemism 😳. I found it rather sweet seeing family members touch each other's horns. Hmm. I'm not sure that sounds any better.

Anyway... a fun and actually tiny bit touching read. I liked that the heroine isn't a pushover. I'm rather fond of a story where the princess saves the prince in turn.*

I suppose I should add trigger warnings for threat of sexual violence and human trafficking but none of it goes too far. Most of the brides signed up of their own accord. As for the sexual violence, I hate when this is used cack-handedly, just to add spice to a story, but that isn't the case here. Instead, it sadly felt realistic for a world with very few women and many men. Depressing thought, that. Before we dwell on that too much, though, let's be clear - all sex between the protagonists is entirely consensual.

The book is in need of some editing, mainly for inconsistencies e.g. kissing rituals chapter 1 vs 6 but also for some mild grammatical and syntactical flaws. Nothing major.

As an aside, I'm a little perplexed by the heroine's sense of morality. She describes her brother as evil. What's the worst thing that came to mind about her brother? He killed their abusive father. In retribution, for killing their mother. Don't get me wrong - he's a bad guy, but not because he brought his mother's killer to justice.

* metaphorically

Free from author’s website with newsletter sign up. I loved Ivy and Quinn together from the moment their ran I to each other. The banter is so cute and the chemistry is off the charts. (If you’ve seen anything else in the series, Quinnov is Makov & Torin’s cousin. Havoc also shows up briefly.) There is extreme contrast between incredibly dark world building and ridiculously cute/sweet/steamy romance. Seymour Bu’tay runs a mail order bride service that only the most desperate would sign up for. Unfortunately, the situation on Earth is so bleak that a lot of people are taking any option to get to any other planet. Luckily for our heroine, she escaped and promptly runs into her fated mate. Shenanigans ensue leading up to HEA.

Cute

Story was pretty good. There where times that I wanted to strangle Quinn for being clueless. I guess he wasn't a mind reader. Ivy was pretty tough. I liked her.

I honestly couldn't finish. I got this book for free. My usual practice is to read a sample and make a decision from there if I'd like to continue reading. As this was free, I didn't have that option. I love the idea of mail-order brides. The heroine here is so stupid. Her brother sold her as a mail-order bride. She decides to escape to make her way back to earth. Why? She says conditions there are horrible. Her brother is criminal. Isn't she afraid he'll sell her again? Anyway, within seconds of meeting the hero, she's flirting with this unknown alien. And then, she's following him instead of returning to the safety of her ship, despite the rough area. This, of course, leads her to being captured and thrown into a pit. At this point, I'd had enough. If these were examples of her decision making skills, there was no way I was going to make it through an entire book.

Great Story! The timeline was a bit weird, this should have been the first book instead of the third, but the author has her order of things I enjoyed the story very much and it visited characters from the other books. I enjoyed that family was able find each other and that they were able to overcome obstacles. I am thinking the next book will be about the missing brother, at least I hope so.

The author has taken us to another time and place. When Ivy escapes from the ship taking her to be a mail order bride, she literally runs into Quinnov and he immediately realizes that fate has brought them together. The story keeps us turning the pages with fear, danger, action and love.

Learn The Meaning of True Love!

Ivy has been sold by her brother as a mail order bride. She manages to sneak off the ship when they dock for repairs on another planet. She runs into Quinnov, literally. He recognizes her as his heartmate and tries to talk her into letting him protect her. She runs! He follows her and of course they run straight into trouble! This is a story with lots of twists and turns. A great book!

part of a series

This is part of a series but very easy to read as a stand alone ( you will want the rest of the series as it is such a great story ) If you like alien warriors and feisty no nonsense females then this is the right book for you . Full of action and romance even when it comes from a very unexpected source. A great story of love, betrayal and courage

It felt like I was reading a Wattpad story.

Fast paced, insta-love with characters I could not connect with. I don't even know what the actually plot is. I felt like I didn't know what was happening half the the time. There were also random time jumps? The aliens didn't feel like aliens....well the ones described anyway. All the aliens somehow know Common, or English, with no explanation.

Quinn is supposed to be this great warrior but throughout the book I've seen him passed out multiple times and the one time he acts like a "warrior" is killing a few guards to get to Ivy. Can't forget about his "pleasure cock" and his "mating cock" since its mentioned so much throughout the book.

Ivy was frustrating. Being forced to be a mail ordered bride only to escape and wanting to (literally) screw the first alien she comes across. Then kissing him after knowing him for a few pages because "It felt like I had to, to know what it would be like to kiss you." 🙄

I pushed myself to finish this (since it was free and I'm stubborn) and I succeeded. It clearly isn't for me so I will not be reading the rest.

The story of Quinnov and Ivy is one of adventure, danger, and love. She is given over to be a bride for aliens against her wishes by her criminal brother. When she escapes the space ship, we runs right into Quinn and both their lives is changed forever. I loved their passion and heat for one another. I also enjoyed the secondary characters in this well story.
