Accountant Claire Hollingsworth has always played by the rules, squelching her own dreams to please her father, work for her family’s publishing business and play the perfect hostess for her ambitious fiancé. But when she learns he’s been cheating weeks before their wedding, Claire breaks the engagement and heads to Marietta, Montana, to reconnect with her sisters and with herself. Armed with a to-do list of adventures, she’s determined to break a few rules.
Théodore Deschamps is ready to start a new chapter. He left his successful career as a Hollywood stuntman to open a lodge on Copper Mountain, where he spent summers as a child. He loves nothing more than a challenge, and the strawberry blonde who literally falls into his arms promises to be his biggest one yet.
What starts out as ticking off items on her list quickly becomes much more intense. But Claire has to return to reality in two weeks, and she’s not sure how, or if, she can say goodbye.
From Scottish lairds to billionaire businessmen, Kelsey McKnight will ignite your soul, no matter what century it lives in.
Kelsey is a university-educated historian from southern New Jersey. She has married her great loves of romance, history, and literature to create her own tales of dashing heroes, sultry bad boys, and lovable heroines who have their own stories to tell. They will take you through the ballrooms of Victorian London, to the hills of the Scottish Highlands, and into New York City penthouses, all at the flip of a page.
When she’s not writing, Kelsey can be found reading, drinking too much coffee, spending time with her family, and working for a nonprofit organization.
By far To Rescue the Runaway Bride is my favorite of The Hollingsworth Sisters Series by Kelsey McKnight. I have been married way too long and am way too old to think of Theo as a book boyfriend but if I had a daughter he is the man I would want for her. He is also the man for Claire Hollingsworth. One who is trustworthy, has initiative but willing to seek help when needed, romantic, loyal, and just plain all around good guy. The white Stetson was the right hat for him.
As for Claire I admired how perfect she tried to be but we all that is impossible as well as exhausting. It was certainty time for her to figure out what would be the perfect career and perfect companionship that she needed. As for her sisters, what a close group so of course they are part of this story too. So sad to think of what her parents had missed in these wonderful women.
Returning to Marietta is always a pleasure for the reader but in this case also for the Hollingsworth sister. A wonderful series that I am sad to see end with the final sister. Perhaps there is a cousin somewhere who will show up in needed of a restart in life too.
Don’t let the cheesy cover with the open shirt cowboy stop you. This is a wonderful romance.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I am not ready to say goodbye to the Hollingsworth sisters!!! I have truly LOVED reading this series and it's hands down a favorite of mine and one I will always recommend.
This third installment was Claire's story, Molly's twin. We obviously got to meet Claire in the previous two books but we didn't see her much as she spent her time back home in Connecticut. That is, until her "perfect" life pretty much fell apart. Now in Montana, she finally had the chance to really discover who she really was.
Enter sexy French man, Theo.
Let me just say, I absolutely LOVED Theo's character. Not only was he a hunk, but he was sweet, funny, and caring. I mean, he even helped Claire with her bucket list! He was super attentive and just...perfect. Completely swoon worthy.
Claire and Theo's connection was genuine, pure, and real. He helped her come out of her shell and truly discover herself...her happiness. I was 100% hooked on their story.
This book was definitely another homerun from Kelsey McKnight. This entire series is a definite must if you love small romances, amazing characters, and addictive storylines.
I received this arc from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This is the final book in the The Hollingsworth Sisters series by Kelsey McKnight. I have enjoyed all 3 books and especially liked that they were set in Marietta, Montana. Book 3 is Claire’s story. She is Molly’s twin sister and has worked for the family publishing company in the accounting area. Claire was known as the Perfect Princess to the public. We also met Claire in the first two books. Her sisters both decided to stay in Marietta, not returning to Connecticut and the family estate and office, meeting their forever loves. Claire had a fiancé back East that she was always rushing home to. Both Molly and Liv were making a life on the ranch shared with the Grangers now.
As the third book begins, Claire’s fiancé Matt had taken her to dinner at the special restaurant where he had proposed. This time, he was having to tell her that he got his secretary pregnant. He would throw child support at her and he wouldn’t be involved in the child’s life. Claire is devastated by the news and tells him that both the fact he cheated on her and then tells her he is relinquishing all parental rights are deal breakers. She calls off the engagement and heads to Montana. Her sister Liv is getting married and she is going without Matt and will tell her sisters the full story.
While on the airplane, Claire makes a list of things she wants to do in Marietta. She realizes that she is too predictable and doesn’t do anything daring. She has things like climb a mountain, quit Pilates, maybe get a tattoo; kiss a stranger, ride a motorcycle, shoot a gun on her list. She first stops at the florist to get some flowers to take to Liv and meets a charming Frenchman. When she arrives she tells her sisters about her cheating ex fiancé and the cancelled engagement.
She decides to go hiking the next day while her sisters are busy. She ends up rolling down the mountain, hurting her ankle and getting stuck. She has no cell reception and no one is near to hear her. Luckily, the French guy she met at the florist, Theo, happens to hear her and rescue her. There is a storm brewing and she can’t put weight on her ankle so they slowly make it down the mountain. He has bought a lodge and is working to get It ready to open. He takes Claire to his lodge where she ends up spending the night due to the storm.
Claire and Theo are very attracted to each other. Claire tells him she recently broke up with her ex but doesn’t provide any details. Theo tells her he was a stuntman in Los Angeles and decided it was time for a calmer life. He’s originally from France. Claire shares about working at her family’s magazine empire and realizes she’s not really happy at her job. They spend lots of time together and Theo helps her check off the items on her list. Talking to Theo and her sisters is making Claire question if she’s happy in the life she’s set to return to.
This series was so enjoyable. I really liked all the sisters and their men. Theo was wonderful with Claire. All of the characters were very extremely likable, except Matt and the Hollingsworth parents. I am sad the series has come to an end. Kelsey did a terrific job adding these new characters into the existing town of Marietta. It was fun to read about familiar businesses and town members as well. This is another 5 star book that I highly recommend.
It’s a guaranteed smile for me every time I get the chance to return to one of my favorite fictional towns, Marietta, Montana for To Rescue The Runaway Bride, the third title in The Hollingsworth Sisters series. I’ve had such a wonderful time with The Hollingsworth Sisters series, and it’s a bittersweet moment to read the final story. Yet, in Marietta… never say never to running into old friends one day in another series or story down the road.
Claire has always set a high standard for herself, in many ways she’s a people pleaser by taking on a career that supports her family’s business, being the perfect hostess, daughter, and eventually fiancée. All the while there was another Claire within who longed to break out but held back knowing that she filled a particular role within her parents and the business’s lives. Her “perfect” world came tumbling down when her nasty piece of work fiancé takes her out to a special dinner at an important in their lives together restaurant to casually inform her that it seems he’s gotten his secretary pregnant but don’t worry he’ll give the inconveniently pregnant sidepiece money, sign away parental rights, and they’ll never have to think about it again. Say What? Oh, no, not going to happen, buddy. Claire ends the engagement and heads to Marietta, Montana to be with her sisters, take stock of her life, and make decisions. She never thought that she’d find the just right for her man on this trip or that she’ll be making life-changing decisions because falling in love and being loved is more important than anything else in the world. If the ex-fiancé and her parents will just leave her alone to enjoy this newly discovered happiness.
Theo has lived an interesting and intense life as a stuntman. Yet it’s time to leave that life behind and open the doors to a new resort full of possibilities. The last thing he expected was to meet the lovely and intriguing Claire casually in town… or to end up later rescuing her when she injured herself on a hike. One storm, plus a few minor injuries, added to being a bit stranded for a while leads to the beginning of a fun, casual relationship where Theo has to chance to cross off items on Claire’s bucket list for this trip. Neither expected that time spent together would take those sparks of interest and turn them into flames. Or to have that jerk of an ex-fiancé do everything in his power to sabotage their happiness and future.
To Rescue The Runaway Bride was the perfect ending to all the adventures in finding love for these sisters. I liked Claire and Theo individually and they shine as a couple. We’ll run into a few familiar faces (this after all does take place in Marietta) and watch as the final sister finds her happiness far from where she started, with a man she never imagined existed for her. I had such fun here and it is a bittersweet moment when the time comes to say goodbye. If you love a romance with believable, realistic characters, a touch of intrigue, lots of laughs and smiles… and a happily ever after ending that is near perfect then you need to check out The Hollingsworth Sisters series, right now.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Tule Publishing. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Claire and Théo’s story in To Rescue a Runaway Bride by Kelsey McKnight, book three in her Hollingsworth Sister series, is a wonderful, heartwarming, sweet, enjoyable tale that I could not put down. Claire Hollingsworth was the Perfect Princess, always playing by the rules, trying to please her father she gave up her dreams, and became an accountant for her family’s publishing business. Claire also played the perfect hostess and fiancée for her ambitious fiancé, giving up hobbies and other joys that he didn’t approve. When she learns he cheated on her weeks just before their wedding, she decided enough was enough; breaking the engagement and heading to Marietta, Montana to spend some time with her sisters. Deciding to live life as she wanted to, instead of as others expected, Claire creates a list of adventures for herself; possibly breaking a few rules. Théodore Deschamps left his successful career as a Hollywood stuntman, starting over by opening a lodge on Copper Mountain; a place he spent summers as a child. Théo enjoys nothing more than a challenge, so when he finds an injured, beautiful strawberry blonde he is ready to open his arms and help her. As Théo helps Claire check off the items on her list, they find the magnetic attraction and sizzling chemistry bring them together; sharing days and nights together. Claire is enjoying her time with Théo, helping him prepare the lodge for opening; making not look forward to returning to her old life. If Claire could work it out, figure it out, maybe, just maybe, she won’t have to say goodbye, but stay in Marietta with Théo and be near her sisters.
Ms. McKnight wrote a wonderful filled with sizzling chemistry, magnetism, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters giving Claire and Théo a chance to stay together, loving each other. I highly recommend To Rescue a Runaway Bride to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
First I just want to say that the author needs to continue this series. Find some cousins and tell their stories or another book with a double wedding for the twins?!?!?!?!
I adored this story and wish I could have given it a higher star count than a mere 5. I was sad to see this series end but was looking forward to Claire's story. The author did a wonderful job and giving her the perfect foil for the "Perfect Princess".
Claire comes to Marietta, MN before her older sister's wedding. She just broke up with her fiance, Matthew. Matthew had an affair with his secretary and was pregnant. The worst part, to Claire, he was going to have nothing to do with the child and just pay child support. Theo was a stuntman in Hollywood. A close friend and fellow stuntman was injured and it was a wake up call to Theo. After 10 years he needed to leave. He had another friend who was an investor that helped him to buy a mountain lodge outside of Marietta. After the place being abandoned for two years, it just needed a little work but Theo has grand plans for the reopening.
While Theo walks around town to get acquainted with Marietta, he spots an intriguing woman. He follows her into the florist and helps her pick out flowers for her soon-to-be married sister. The meeting between Theo and Claire was dynamic. The sparks just flew between them.
I adored Theo and the support he gave to Claire. He was the ultimate male protagonist to me. I was so sorry to see this story end as well as the series. I would definitely give this a 20 star recommendation to anyone over the age of 18. There were a few sexy scenes but nothing that was overly graphic in nature. Also while this was a part of a series, you really don't have to read the others, even as the characters make multiple appearances. I would highly suggest that you do read them as they are wonderful stories in their own right.
To Rescue the Runaway Bride is the third book in Kelsey McKnight’s new The Hollingsworth Sisters series. Claire Hollinsworth, long known as the “Perfect Princess”, has always lived up to her parents’, and her fiancé’s expectations and demands. When her fiancé tells her, just prior to their wedding, that he has impregnated his secretary…. well, the dam breaks. Claire has spent her young lifetime being disappointed and hurt by everyone. Everyone, except her late, beloved Gran, and her two sisters. She cancels the weddings, tells the ex-fiancé to “burn in hell”, and she heads to Marietta to be with Olivia and Molly!
This is when our beloved Marietta starts intervening. Upon arrival she meets Theodore Deschamps, who recently purchased the old Copper Lodge on the mountain. Fate keeps throwing Claire and Theo together, and the romantic temperature escalates quickly. Claire and Theo are magical together. Magical like McKenna & Trey, or Skylar & Cody. Theo treats Claire the way that all women should be treated. She is shocked. Never before has she felt so loved. A crisis ensues when the ex-fiancé and the Hollingsworth parents show up unexpected. Will Claire continue to be the “Perfect Princess”, or will she choose a life filled with love, Theo, Molly, Olivia, Marietta, Copper Lodge, ballet and pointe classes, and maybe a kitten?
The author has created a masterful series with these three books. I can only pray for additional long-lost siblings to be discovered. More siblings equal more stories!
Accountant Claire Hollingsworth has sacrificed her own desires to be the perfect daughter, the perfect fiancée, the one who following every rule. Even becoming an accountant was for the sake of the family’s publishing business. She was startled awake by finding that her fiancé, for whom she gave up everything, has been cheating on her. She ends the relationship and left for Montana. In an attempt to find herself now, she has a to-do list of adventures and rules no longer matter.
Théodore Deschamps is also starting over. Leaving his stuntman career in Hollywood, he opened a lodge on Copper Mountain. He has good memories from his childhood, so this is the ideal location. He meets Claire and is ready to help her with her list. Claire only has two weeks, though. And something about Theo is making it difficult to contemplate leaving. And the final test is coming when she and Theo go to her sister’s wedding. Her father makes sure to tell Theo that Claire is getting married in two weeks to Matthew, her cheating ex who had flown here to be with her and patch things up. Theo asked her about it and she didn’t deny anything. So he told her goodbye and went back to the lodge, not wanting to be a rebound for her. Will he truly walk away from the best thing that ever happened to her? Will she go back to the same cycle of unhappiness that she had come there to escape?
It took a cheating fiance for Claire Hollingsworth to take control, of her life. Claire was known as the perfect princess, always played it safe. She worked for her father’s publishing company but didn’t enjoy her position. She only stayed because it was what was expected of her. When Claire finds out her fiance got his secretary pregnant, she calls off her big society wedding and heads to Montana to see her sisters. Little did she know her life was about to change when she meets Théodore "Theo" Deschamps, the new owner of Copper Lodge.
Theo, a retired movie stuntman, is preparing to open his new lodge, when he meets Claire. He never expected a woman would be part of his new life, but there she is. And Theo will do anything to keep her happy. But when the truth comes out about why Claire is in Marietta, it causes Theo to second guess his feelings for Claire. Now it's up to Claire to decide what she wants. Will she do what everyone expects her to do, go back home? Or will she decide to stay in Montana and live a life that makes her happy?
This was one of those books that was hard to put down. Through the author’s words, I was drawn into the story and I couldn’t wait to see how Claire and Theo got their happily ever after. Even though this book is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone.
All the books in this series have been wonderful, but this one is my favorite. I was sorry to see Claire hurt by her cheating ex, but so glad that she left him in the dust. She's always been the good daughter, and I loved seeing her come into her own, working through her bucket list, finding out what she really wants to do in life. Theo is completely swoon-worthy. As he helps her with her bucket list, he questions her choices in life before she realizes that there isn't anything in Connecticut for her. Her parents (the demanding father and vapid mother) are all too concerned with what their social circle thinks, and their appearance at Olivia's wedding was disruptive and unnecessary. It's a shame that she called off her wedding to Matt - her cheating ex, would make the perfect son-in-law for her stuck-up father.

This is the story of the third sister Claire Hollinsworth who we have gotten to know a wee bit about in the first two books. Claire WAS engaged but now she is back in Marietta and is free as a bird. She is in Marietta after breaking off her engagement when her very imperfect fiance gets his sidepiece pregnant. She comes home to Olivia and Molly..home being Marietta that is.
Theo or Theodore Deschamps is the new owner of Copper Lodge. Well, he is the part-owner. Theo is a retired stuntman from Hollywood and he has the looks that go with the name and he is French/American with a cool accent to boot. Fate pushes Claire and Theo together at every turn and they are so right for each other in so many ways. She helps him with getting his business up and running and he helps her get well you will see. I love reading about Marietta and this is just another wonderful series based there.
I loved Claire and Theo’s story. Claire has always done what she thought was expected of her to please her father. When her fiancé tells her that he cheated on her and got his secretary pregnant that is the final straw. She decides to go to Marietta to see her sisters. On the way she decides she needs to do things for herself. She makes herself a list. Theo used to be a stuntman but gave it up and moved to Marietta to open a lodge. When Claire and Theo meet there is definite chemistry between them. They enjoy spending time together. Will Claire decide to stay, or will she leave Marietta and go back to her life? Pick up a copy because it is a must read. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
If Claire's fiance hadn't cheated on her and claimed he would just pay off his mistress and love child, I would have told her to dump him anyway. He made her change her herself to be a mold of what he wanted and give up things she loved like dancing. But he gave her a reason to run away to Marietta to be with her sisters. Theo is a sexy ex-stuntman with a gorgeous French accent, a wonderful cook, with an amazing library who becomes the perfect guy for Claire to have a fling with to get over her ex. She laughs with him and he encourages her to enjoy life and go for what she loves instead of settling for what others expect. I wish I had a bit of that courage in my own life. Of course the path to true love is not smooth, but what's romance without a little drama.
An enjoyable read about figuring out what makes Claire happy ,not everyone around you wants, too bad Claire finds out the hard way when she has dinner with her finacee and finds out before their nuptials that he's going to be a daddy to someone else's baby. That was the last straw ,now Claire will leave the big city and fly to Montana to see her sisters and lick her wounds and start over in new town .
The third book in the Hollingsworth Sisters series another well written story in this series. Accountant Claire Hollingsworth goes to Marietta, Montana to be with her sisters after she finds her fiance has cheated. Théodore Deschamps has also come to Marietta to open a lodge on Copper Mountain, they meet by accident. I enjoyed seeing their story come together. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
After finding out that her finance is cheating on her, Claire runs away to Marietta, where her sisters have already escaped. Tired of always being the good one, Claire writes a list of things she wants to do. Théodore agrees to help her and they grow closer to each toher, so what will happen when it is time for her to return to real life?
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a volutnary and honest review.
What can I say...McKnight did it again. I loved this book and I’m so sad to say goodbye to the sisters. I really liked Theo. I think he was my favorite male of all three. And I’d REALLY like to stay at his resort. I also liked watching Claire’s character growth. She was so calm and cool in the first two books but she made sure to pop in this book.
Another great addition to the series. You easily fall in love with the characters and love getting to know them as you turn each page. The story is well written and holds your attention from the first page to the last page.

Claire Hollingsworth an accountant meets Théodore Deschamps ex stunt man turn rancher when she runs to re-evaluate her life. When these two meet the attraction is instant. This is book 3 in the series and I had great fun reading it.

Talk about saving the best for last! This novel was it! Mc Knight did a super job on this story line making me not want to put my tablet down. I adored everything about the story line! Theo and Claire are so very opposite of each other but shine as one together. They brought out the best in each other by supporting each other and showing their respect for the others creative side. Oh, if the average girl really found great guys like these one in McKnight’s Hollingsworth Sisters series, wow, less divorce would be heard or seen! I know, I am one of the lucky average girls that found such a great and wonderful guys forty-eight years ago.
I’m afraid I cannot understand Claire or Theo. For someone so ruled by lists I don’t know why Claire didn’t use them to sort herself out. Also in my opinion Theo should have been more supportive. In addition I would like to know how they arrived in Marietta on a Harley but Theo left in a truck.
It's this kind of writing that restores my faith in love and romance! I read this book straight through and ended with a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. True romance lovers will definitely enjoy this book! Happy reading!
I've read all three of Hollingsworth Sisters. Enjoyed each for a different reason. The third one was by far the best romantic, sweet, tear worthy and frustrated with Claire.
To Rescue the Runaway Bride by Kelsey McKnight She’s ready to take charge of her future… Accountant Claire Hollingsworth has always played by the rules, squelching her own dreams to please her father, work for her family’s publishing business and play the perfect hostess for her ambitious fiancé. This is Claire Hollingsworth and Théodore Deschamps's story. For the evening Claire had donned a lilac dress with a flared skirt and delicately scalloped edges. It reminded her of the vintage postcards her grandmother had collected of perfectly coiffed woman holding turkeys or vacuuming the house in high heels. It maybe wasn’t her favorite cut, but Matt had insisted she look the part of a demure lady when they went out with his coworkers, and she was always too happy to help Matt make a deal. Théodore Deschamps dropped his duffel bag at the bottom of the massive staircase in the entryway of the lodge . . . his lodge. He’d only seen it once since being there as a kid, when he had taken the one and only walkthrough with his real estate agent, Janine Rowe. She had sworn the old place was turnkey and just needed a bit of sprucing up, but as he wound round the boxes the moving company had left in the main hall, the reality of his situation was becoming clear. I recommend reading. To Rescue the Runaway Bride by Kelsey McKnight is a 4 star book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Kelsey McKnight. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this trilogy of connected standalones about the Hollingsworth sisters. This book was about Claire, the Perfect Princess, always doing what everyone wanted and expected but never getting to do what she wanted. When she finds out her fiancée is cheating on her, she cancels her wedding and heads to Montana to be with her sisters. There she meets former stuntman and current hotelier Theo.
Theo is finished with his days in Hollywood and is ready for the quiet of the mountains. The first time he sees Claire, he is intrigued by her. They meet when Claire injures herself on a hike near the hotel he is renovating. She has started a bucket list and climbing a mountain was on the list. He offers to help her with her bucket list and they begin to spend time together. Being together builds the attraction between these two and leads to some steamy scenes. These two are wonderful together so Claire better decide to do what makes her happy and stop worrying about her parents. Also Theo speaks French which is super hot!!
