Join the characters of Solomons Island as they aim to fulfill their desire for love in the third book of the series, Beachfront Embrace.
Beachfront Embrace: Solomons Island Book 3 is by Michele Gilcrest. This is the last book of the trio and it is really good as is the series. Things are looking up on Solomons Island. Mike has opened his new business and it is thriving, Clara had her divorce go through and is settled into Joan’s house, Ms Mae and Jonathan are happily married, and even Mack is dating. It is as if things cannot go right for Clara, her estranged sister Agnes showed up on her doorstep without any place to go. In spite of everything that has gone between the two of them, Clara cannot let her just go away with no where to go. She tells Agnes she can stay for a week. She should be able to find a job and an apartment in that time. Miss Mae and Jonathan want to buy a house boat and plan to take small trips with it and with her grandchildren. They have spent several days here and there looking at boats and now, Jonathan has purchased one without telling Mae. She gets upset over his doing it without her; but after looking at the paperwork and the boat, she agrees. However, there are still many things that they need to talk through before their marriage is stable. Mack’s boyfriend tells her he has found someone new; but she isn’t upset as he is telling her about it. She hadn’t been feeling deep emotions except friendship about him anyway. She wishes him the best of luck and goes home by herself. Once more, things begin to look up when Agnes drops another bomb!
Clara is so insecure about her past mistakes that she almost lets it jeopardize her future
Clara and Mike were just recovering from her abusive husband finding her and Clara getting an expedited divorce. Mike was all set to propose the night her sister showed up with a black eye and nowhere to go. Clara is not all happy since they never got along and parted on bad terms. 10 years ago Clara left New York and her abusive husband and her disinterested intervening to start a new life. It is just recently that she divorced Keith after he showed up claiming she owes him a big chunk of her inheritance. Now she finds out that her sister was living with Keith for the last 4 or 5 years and may be pregnant with his child. It puts Clara in a tail spin and she is pushing Mike away rather than sharing how she feels.
I enjoyed the continuing saga of Lighthouse Tours employees on Solomons Island. There were several takeaways from this book: when you do it right, you can balance love, life goals, and other things of importance while loving your family; be truthful in relationships...you don't have to stay in one if you aren't happy; time with loved ones should never be taken for granted; life is made up of choices and blessings; you don't have to live in the past...you can create better new memories. If these themes resonate with you, then you will enjoy this book. I am looking forward to book 4 in November.
I received an ARC of this book from the author, but have given my review honestly.
I devoured the first two in the series, however this one I didn’t care for. Clare’s whining and acting as if her life is so horrible. It was just too overdone. The continuous poor more turn me completely off. Not sure I’ll read anymore of the series.
This was about Clara and Mike. Clara”s sister, Agnes, came from New York to surprise her sister. Clara and Agnes had hard feelings before she left New York. Mike was trying to create a fun week end for Clara, he wanted to propose. Enjoy their journey.
Again Michelle Gold rest captures each characters anxiety as they face life changing decisions. Love abounds at the beach but with hesitation as Clara looks at her fears.
I was a volunteer ARC for this book for an honest review. This is the third book in this series that I have read. Although a series, each book could stand alone because they deal with different situations in each book in the lives of Clara and Mike. In this book, they hit some relationship troubles after Clara’s sister arrived on her doorstep. Love this sweet book and story as you continue to see what is happening with other characters in Solomon’s Island. Looking forward to the next book!
This is a short, quick read, without much substance, and rather disappointing after the first books in the series. I am unlikely to purchase further books in the series.
This is a great book. I really enjoy it. Thanks again . Looking forward to the next one. I like reading it on my lunch at work.it gets my mind somewhere else.
