For Kellie, life was almost perfect.

She’d found the man of her dreams in Lance, and finally consigned their initial problems to the past.

But then, facing what can only be described as every parent’s worst nightmare, her world is torn apart and she is forced to defend her family from the person lurking in the shadows.

Refusing to be terrorized, Kellie must fight for those she loves the most, but at what cost?

For Lance, after the loss of his best friend, he’d found a reason to live again, and with a ready-made family in Kellie and Rory, everything he’d ever wished for seemed to be within his grasp.

But someone hides in plain sight, desperate to stand in the way of his happiness.

To secure a future with the woman he loves, and the little girl he has come to see as his own, Lance must prove he is capable of protecting them all.

Inspired by her husband's career in law enforcement, and her passion for the written word, Kaylee began to pen her novels as an escape from the rigors of everyday life. She admits teaching herself the craft of writing has been a tough, but wonderful journey, and is just the creative outlet that she needs. Kaylee’s series The Weight of the Badge was written after she attended required law enforcement classes with her husband. The seminars focused on the stress a first responder faces daily, how it affects their lives both on and off the job, and the continually growing number of law enforcement suicides. With her books and her experience married to a law enforcement officer, Kaylee found herself armed with the perfect platform to use her voice and subtly spread the statistics others may not know. Kaylee Rose is passionate about sharing sexy stories with an important message mixed in.

Kaylee’s husband is her biggest supporter, believing in her even when she can not, and writing love stories comes naturally to her after falling in love with him at first sight.

Given an ARC read and review..

What a fantastic ending to an awesome series,Kaylee does a great job of wrapping up The Weight of the Badge series with this one. At long last we meet up with Kellie, Lance and Little Rory.
Kaylee captures what has to be a parent's worst nightmare come to life-someone has taken Rory!
Who took her?
Why did they take her?
Will Lance and Kellie get her back?
With the power of Lance's brothers and sisters in Blue behind them the search is on for Rory-
Will this tear them apart after everything they have went through or will they get their HEA?
You have to read to find out!

Suspenseful

The mingled families of Lance and Kellie kept the lightheartedness of their relationship at the forefront of the book. However, the story involving Trish was sad and full of suspense. Thrilled that Lance and Kellie finally get their HEA. #TRUELOVEWINS #FAMILY

A weighty topic with love story thrown in

Out of the Blue is book 3 of Kaylee Rose The Weight of the Badge series. I read the first two books so long ago, I had to go back and read them again to refresh my memory. This is not my usual escape from reality contemporary romance. Kaylee Rose tackles the hardcore subjects of what first responders, law enforcement and their family face as they continue to protect and serve the communities assigned to them. Kaylee Rose starts book one with a police suicide right as the two lovers meet again and a relationship seems possible. A past relationship as well as impossible job responsibilities culminate in a kidnapping which threatens the two main characters again in the second book. So by the time the reader gets to Out of the Blue, they have to wonder what else could possibly go wrong for this couple! Well with Kaylee Ross's talent for plot twists there is plenty to keep you on the edge of your seat. It is also difficult to imagine a happily ever after ending for her two characters. Yet, against all odds she finishes on that note. She even had me in tears as I said goodbye to the family in blue I had gotten to know throughout the three books.
It is only because of my own personal preference that I can't give this book 5 stars. I hate cliffhangers and this series is full of them. I also love my fiction to take me away from my life transport me to another place and/or time for awhile. This book came along unfortunately at a time when I was caught up in a series of family issues involving deaths, drugs and legal nightmares. While I appreciated the authors knowledge and insight in these areas, at times I found I had to put the book down ,walk away, calm down and then come back and read again. Again as this is a personal truth, I do not think it should stop someone from trying out Kaylee Rose Weight of the Badge series for themselves.

IGY6! PHENOMENAL!! TOUCHING!
This story is not only an amazing story but a great tribute to the family of Blue. Both Lance and Kellie have gone through some tough things prior to meeting each other. This story takes you through some hard times dealing with death, heartache, love, laughter, and most of all the support of not only family but the family in Blue. You get to feel what it's like for both those in Law Enforcement and those who are waiting at home for their LEO to come home. It's touching and so real to life. You become a part of this story as they work through their struggles and find strength in each other. This was a phenomenal ending to Lance and Kellie's story. There is so much love between them. I believe these two were destined to be together. I'm glad Kayley Rose wrote this story. It's one that needed to be told.

Very good series and the message important

This series is very important to me as my son is in law enforcement and we worry about him every day. When he graduated from the academy the senior officers talked to the parents about watching for the signs, he is married and his wife watches out for him. Mental health is so very important and difficult. In our community we have lost 2 police officers in 2 months to suicide, one of them was a close friend of my son’s. That young man even went to a “rehab “ for depression and suicide and he still couldn’t handle daily life, leaving behind a new baby, an older child and his brand new wife, along with his large family. It was devastating for the community because he was so well known and very much liked. The PD & family had to change his funeral venue to the largest facility we have & that was an event center. Both of these young men will be sorely missed. I hope that this series will help make mental health problems more known as an illness and not something to be swept away and not talked about. Thank You for your help in making people more aware of this problem.

Excellent book

As a first responder, I found this book to be very accurate in the portrayal of the emotions we experience, with all of the pressure and stress of the job. I have been paid EMT, and a volunteer EMT/ Firefighter for over 30 years, and this is a great depiction of our lives. I have had to deal with the suicide of a sibling, and this issue was dealt with well. Thank you!

Touching

I loved all three books. Each one had a special something to it. This last book really was special and for me eye opening to things I knew were possible but never experienced. My heart and blessing go out to all our first responders and their families.

I was given this book as ARC so here’s my review on it, I waited a whole year for this book and it was sooooo worth the wait. I cried, laughed, was shocked, and did I mention that i cried some more?! Not going to ruin it for future readers but I am going to say I am happy that they finally got their HEA. As a LEO’s wife, this storyline hit home and it was as realistic as it gets. Definitely worth reading. Also I hope Jackson gets a storyline because he deserves a HEA. Good Job, Kaylee Rose. Can’t wait to see what you have planned for us next.

Out of the Blue

What an amazing story, ending to a trilogy story. Waiting for Lance and Kellie to get their happily ever after, not without someone feeling they deserve it more. The danger, fear lurking out there of unknown, people unknowingly in danger. Great intense, exciting, emotional story. Loved this story, must read.❤️

conclusion

What a series! Lance and Kellie have instant chemistry but meet under circumstances that no one can control. Both have to fight through grief for love they really always wanted. This series focuses on mental health of officers which take a toll on them from their every day job.

This is the last book in The Weight of the Badge Series and the conclusion to Lance and Kellie’s story. It was an entertaining read with just the right amount of drama and suspense, and you will not be able to turn the pages fast enough to read what comes next. I felt such a strong connection to the characters and the moments they experienced throughout their journey and I’m sad to see this series end….but what a PERFECT ending to their story. I highly recommend this book and complete series, it’s one not to be missed out on!!

Wow, another great book

As intriguing and action packed this whole series was, I'm going to miss this group of people. I was hoping there was a follow on about Jackson life, it's ok though. This series lent to a lot of tissues being used. I enjoyed all three books. Suspense, intrigue and love such a good combination. All of the books being so good. Written by Cindy :)

"You are part of everything good in my world and I never want to live another day without you by my side."

What an ending to this series!! I'm so sad to see it end!

No spoilers here as you have to read the series in order to get to the end, but after going through the unthinkable, Lance and Kellie are fighting for their family. Someone wants to destroy what they have and tear them apart. Lance will do whatever it takes to protect them, even if it costs him everything.

And what an amazing woman Kellie is! Lance is on lucky guy, and he knows it!

Oh, and have the tissues handy. You're going to need them.

I loved this series so much! It touches on so may social issues - depression, addiction, the struggles of being an LEO and being the one to love him/her, and this author has done it brilliantly.

Please support your local police. They put their lives on the line every day to keep their communities safe. They run TOWARD danger while the rest of us run from it. They leave their families every day, knowing there is a chance they won't come home.

This brings the story of Lance and Kellie full circle and will certainly satisfy readers of this series.
Following Rory's kidnapping, the race is on to find her-will they get to her before it's too late?
Will Kellie lose the child she's grown to love as her own?
Will she ever get the HEA she craves?
You'll have to read and find out.
There is so much I could reveal about the plotline but I don't want to spoil it for you.
What I can say is Kaylee has crafted a great conclusion to the Weight of the Badge series with good old fashioned relatable characters we've grown to care about.
Fantastic job!
I wonder what she has planned for us next?

This was my least favourite of the series which is disappointing because it should have wowed me. Kellie was just not appealing as a lead and was badly written. Lance was not an alpha romantic lead at all but the one character that shined was the one I was meant to hate. She was great and got a great ending. Kellie stepped up then but reverted back to boring and insipid. I didn't see the point in having the kid in the book either as she added nothing.
I did like this book despite my comments and low score. The writing improved for me but something was missing in this last book as though the writer was bored by the end which meant I was. I'd say it lacked finesse and would give 2.5 stars.

I was given the ARC for this book and I am leaving my review freely. Wow what a way to end the story of Lance, Rory and Kellie. I loved from beginning to end, although I was a little confused why it was mention a character had a hand in someone's death but it stopped there it never went any further. I fell in love with these characters from book one and my love continued to grow as the books progressed. I mean who wouldn't love Rory. I am sad to see the books end. If I could leave more than 5 stars I would. Great job, Kaylee Rose. Looking forward to what you have for us in the future

What an ending!!!

While reading this series, you can feel a part of the authors' soul in each one. As hard as it was to read this remarkable story, it had to be even harder to write!!
This series was heart wrenching, but needed to be told and understood.
Law enforcement is one of the hardest jobs in the world and one that could end their life in an instant. Kaylee did an amazing job of giving readers a view of that life from the viewpoint of the officers and those closest to them. Thank you, Kaylee Rose!! 💓

Absolutely loved this !!!!!

I have never had a book take me through so many emotions! I went into it, not knowing what to expect in the first book absolutely torn apart. By the second book I was ready to give into the love story! And the third book gave me everything I needed. Lance and Kellie are absolutely amazing characters. The depths of the world around them was so unique. it definitely gave you everything in one go. It had suspense. It had action, it had romance, sass, and the spice was great for the setting in the book. It’s a definite recommend.

My heart was in my throat right from the get go reading this book, as Kellie faces every Parents worse nightmare.
A perfect conclusion as Kaylee builds the suspense and drama keeping me totally engrossed
with Kellie and Lance's story. I absolutely loved the ending with all the little sentimental and meaningful surprises Kaylee added for us readers, leaving me with happy tears and a huge smile on my face..... LOVED IT!

Happy endings

I'm glad that Kellie got her happy ending. I'm disturbed that they named their twins after someone that OD and someone that committed suicide. The whole thing with Trish and kidnapping and her obessesive stalking of an officer was mishandled and made the "police" look like a joke. And she never brought up adopting Rory to Lance there was no follow up. It was just like we are having a baby so push Rory to the back burner.

End of the trilogy

Lots of action and drama in this finale. It could have been a duet. Lots and lots of words and scenes.
Kellie has compassion for Trish as she dies. She did not have that same compassion for Lance.
In book 2, Trish congratulates herself for pushing Paul into his suicide. But we never find out how and Lance never knows of it.
After much hand wringing, soul searching and many, many tears, they get their HEA.

Third and final book in the series. Hold on because the rollercoaster is going to be up and down. You are in for quite a ride with the final book in the series. This book does pick up where the second one left off. You are on the edge of your seat with Lance and Kellie trying to figure out what is going to happen between these two. Is life going to finally let them love each other or is fate going to give them more tragic events to deal with? Kaylee wrote this book with feeling and punch. She did such an amazing job with the police aspect and the human aspect with these characters. I loved each and every page turning moment. This was a great ending to an amazing series for Lance and Kellie.

Loved this series. As a LEO wife I could relate. I cried all thru the first book, having been to some of these funerals brought on some panic attacks. I love the love story but especially the awareness it brings to some of the issues law enforcement deal with every day. Fortunately my LEO is retired and home safe with me now after 25 years of service. Thank you for bringing some of these issues to light! The first book was emotional to read but loved the happy ending in book three.

A Cop Series I Couldn’t Put Down

Cops can be so sexy in their uniforms. Kaylee Rose had me closing my eyes several times to see him, and see him I did! Damn!

The emotional roller coaster in this series had me unable to stop reading. When I was forced to return to reality, I continued to wonder what would happen next! Their story needed to be told, and I needed to know how it would end.

No regrets in reading these books. Well done Ms. Rose!🌹

amazing book

I usually avoid trilogies. I am usually a one and done book and move on to something different. I couldn’t put these down. I devoured all three books in a day or so. They were all so well written and you connected to the characters. The emotions and story were so well woven together. Can’t say enough about the books. You must read them. Absolutely fantastic.
