FATHER WANTED Jazzy Dunbar is enjoying life as a single mom, proving that you don’t have to have a man to have it all. Jeremiah Caldwell, a good friend, made the perfect sperm donor. He’s happy with their “no strings attached” relationship ... or is he? He wants to be more than a sometimes-father in baby Caleb’s life. Jazzy doesn’t want to ruin their friendship by allowing their attraction to flare, but when a serious situation threatens, will Jeremiah be able to prove that they can have love and the perfect family?
HERO WANTED Single mom Leah Martin needs to find a wedding date for her ex-husband’s wedding. Their son, Owen, is going to be the ringbearer and her attendance is required. But this florist has no time to date around the busy Mother’s Day holiday, which is why she agrees to let her friends set her up for a blind date. Hank DeLeon’s bar shares an alley with Leah’s florist shop, which is the perfect location for a restaurant if she’s willing to relocate. When he’s asked to take her on a blind date, he has to wonder: is this a great chance for a business proposition? Or a once-in-a-lifetime chance at love?
FAMILY WANTED After a corporate restructuring at her accounting firm, Paige Duffy moved north to Sea Glass Bay and opened a handmade candle booth at the coastal town’s popular local craft market. Now her severance is running out and Paige discovers she’s pregnant from a one night stand. Charter boat owner, Gavin Cole, lost his grandfather six months ago, promising him he’d finally pursue his dreams of sailing the open ocean. But when Paige tells him that she’s pregnant with his child, Gavin must decide what adventure he really wants: the one he’s always dreamed of, or the one he never believed possible.

‘Family is the strongest of foundations…the best gift we could have gotten this Mother’s Day’
A collection of authors provide well-chosen romances to share in this compendium of works they call A SEA GLASS BAY ROMANCE BOOK. California author Anna J Stewart has published over forty romance novels and for this anthology she offers MOM WANTED. Canadian author Kayla Perrin has also published over forty novels in the romance and mystery/suspense genres and is a popular figure on television shows and the media, offering FATHER WANTED. Oregon author Melinda Curtis has been a manager for a Fortune 500 company and her romance novels have enjoyed being selected for television movies. Her novella – HERO WANTED. South Carolina author Cari Lynn Webb writes novels that reflect her respect for the long marriages of her parents and grandparents. Her selection – FAMILY WANTED. Four talented ladies who have mastered the art of placing romance stories before their public now join forces with this satisfying anthology of novellas.
The characters of each of theses four novellas find not only the location of Sea Glass Bay in common, but they also interrelate in a manner that makes the stories not only strong individually, but also when taken as a collection they grow in sensitivity and beauty. A major tie-in is that time of year as Mother’s Day approaches, allowing the spotlight to illuminate the challenges and successes of each character’s needs. With Mother’s Day approaching, four women living in a picturesque coastal town discover a second chance at love when they finally find their happily-ever-after partners.
Each of the four contributing authors makes a strong impression in this sensitive and positive life-enhancing book – individually and in tandem. Feel good romance collections are too rare these days when emphasis in the media – including books! – is on social problems and discontent. Settle in for happy-ever-after analects!
This was a fun collection of novellas! These four romance stories are all set in the same location and the characters all overlap from story to story. As one story moves to the next, you are able to see what is going on with the characters from the previous novellas. Each novella ends with a happily-ever-after, yet all four build up to form a complete picture for all of these friends.
The stories are clean romances, with a couple of the stories referencing intimacy between the main characters in the past. This was definitely necessary for the story lines, as those two stories involved pregnancies between friends. The authors handled the delicate situations well.
I thoroughly enjoyed these romances, which left me with a happy and uplifted feeling as the four main couples found their happily-ever-afters.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I'm trying out Edelweiss to get review copies and this book was on there. It was okay for me. It is a collection of short romance stories. Short stories are hard anyway but with these most of the romances happen with people they were already friends with so that helps move things along. I am not a fan of romances with kids in the picture and 3 of the 4 had kids involved.
I really enjoyed reading the novellas in A Second Chance for Love: A Sea Glass Bay Romance Book. Each story was written by an amazing romance author featuring one of four women living in a beautiful and charming coastal town. With Mother’s Day approaching, these women are given a second chance at love and finding their happily-ever-after partners.
In Mom Wanted, by Anna J. Stewart, art teacher Claire Bishop’s life is full but she longs for a family she will never have. Agreeing to help out widower, Sully Vaugh, by taking care of his daughter after school, Sully is worried that his little girl, Lindie, is becoming too attached to her favorite teacher. Sully is attempting to protect his daughter from the heartache of loss that nearly destroyed him. Sully hadn’t plan that this vibrant woman would help him want to love again or Lindie’s willpower to decide Claire is the perfect mom for her.
In Father Wanted by Kayla Perrin, Jazzy Dunbar enjoys being a single mom, proving that she didn’t need a man to have it all. Jeremiah Caldwell is a good friend to Jazzy and was the perfect sperm donor for her baby. Jazzy believed he was happy with their “no strings attached” relationship and sometime-father for baby Caleb, but with all the attention he’s been giving her she’s being to wonder. Jazzy is afraid of ruining their friendship by allowing their magnetic attraction to grow, but when Jazzy becomes seriously ill, Jeremiah just might be able to prove that they can be friends while loving each other and becoming the perfect family.
In Hero Wanted by Melinda Curtis, single mom Leah Martin needs to find a date for her ex-husband’s wedding. She was requested to be there, at the last minute, because their son is the ringbearer and she’s to make sure he behaves. As a florist, Leah has no time to date, especially so close to Mother’s Day, so she agrees to let her friends set her up for a blind date. Hank DeLeon’s bar shares an alley with Leah’s florist shop, making it perfect for the restaurant, provided Leah is willing to relocate. Going on a blind date with Leah, Hank wonders if this is his chance to discuss the business proposition or attempt to impress and woo Leah; turning into the possibility for finding his forever love.
In Family Wanted by Cari Lynn Webb, former accountant Paige Duffy moved to Sea Glass Bay to create and sell handmade candles after a corporate restructuring eliminated her job. Her severance pay is running out and Paige finds herself pregnant after a one night stand with her best friend. Charter boat owner Gavin Cole lost his grandfather six months ago, promising he would pursue his dreams of sailing the open ocean. Upon learning that Paige is pregnant with his child, Gavin must which adventure he truly wants; the one he’s always dreamed of or the one he never believed was possible.
Anna J. Stewart, Kayla Perrin, Melinda Curtis, and Cari Lynn Webb wrote beautiful contemporary romance novellas that are not to be missed. These tales are rich with kindness, magnetic attraction, off the charts chemistry, great conversations, and endearing characters giving these women and their partners a chance at finding a forever love. I highly recommend the stories in A Second Chance for Love anthology.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this story.
Five talented authors tell the story of close knit friends that find love when they least in the town of Sea Glass Bay in these four novellas. Best read in order .
MOM WANTED-Anna J Stewart Claire Bishop is an art teacher that loves her young students . She would love a family but fate will not be on her side. One of her students, Lindie, and her widower father, Sully Vaughn hold a special place in her heart. Sully will do anything for his precocious daughter, but after having loved and lost that special person, he’s not willing to open his heart again. But what happens when the unthinkable occurs? Should they take a leap of faith to find their HEA and a family for the three of them? Or, will fear keep them from being a family?
FATHER WANTED-Kayla Perrin Jazzy Dunbar wanted a child without the complications of a relationship. Jeremiah Caldwell was not interested in complications but was willing to father a child. The friendship and support continues when Caleb is born. But what happens when Jazzy wants sole custody? Will Jeremiah sign away his rights or will he fight for the boy he loves? Will Jazzy open her heart and in the end find her HEA ?
HERO WANTED - Melinda Curtis Leah Martin is a single mom of a sweet 4 year old Owen. She loves him , her flower shop and her friends. When her son is assigned to be the ring bearer for her ex’s wedding, she’s expected to be there to take care of the boy. She’s too busy to find a date so her friends decide on setting her up on a blind date. Meanwhile Hank/Henry DeLeon, owner of the local bar & grill is busy working and hiring his brothers so they all have a “safe” place to land. He now has decided his recently widowed mother should have her own restaurant. Mind you, all these plans are done without her consent. The perfect place for the restaurant, is the flower shop location. Thus starts his “plan” in being the blind date for Leah so he can make her a proposal. But will it all blow up in his face? What do Leah and his mother think of his plans? Will it be the end of what could have been a chance at life and love? This is a story that reminds us that work is not the most important thing in life, but rather the people we love and surround us.
FAMILY WANTED - Cari Lynn Webb Paige Duffy left corporate America and found a home in Sea Glass Bay making candles. She loves the town , the people and the aunt that took care of her during her difficult times in her teens. Paige’s friend Gavin Cole, is a charter boat owner dreaming of leaving at the end of the summer in his boat. Neither has mentioned the one night they spent together, but when a surprise pregnancy occurs, what will happen to these friends? Will Gavin leave to pursue his dream? Or will both realize that love might be the dream they both really wanted. A reminder that dreams often change for the better when love is the final prize. This last story brings the four couples together and leaves the reader with a “feel good” sensation. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
A Second Chance for Love: A Sea Glass Bay Romance is four wonderfully written novellas by four amazing authors who blend each story into the next. Four friends in the coastal town of Sea Glass Bay have ideas and dreams about what their life should be but as fate and luck would have it, plans change, hearts evolve and love happens.
Mom Wanted by Anna J. Stewart - Claire Bishop is an art teacher who loves children and longs for a family of her own. One of her students, Lindie, has decided that she would make a great mom. Sully, Lindie's widowed father, is very protective of his little girl and worried that she will be hurt by her attachment to Claire. Claire teaches Sully that there is always a chance of hurt where love is concerned but hiding from it doesn't save you from heartache.
Father Wanted by Kayla Perrin - Jazzy Dunbar wants a child but not a husband, so she convinces her friend to father her child with no strings attached. Jeremiah Caldwell thought he was happy with the plan until he realizes that he wants the whole family. Now he just has to convince Jazzy that family is love and relationships can work.
Hero Wanted by Melinda Curtis - Leah Martin is a divorced single mother looking for a date to her ex-husband's wedding since she must attend because her son is in the wedding. Each of her friend's try to set her up with one of Hank DeLeon's brothers but he intervenes each time because he wants to convince Leah to let him have her shop for his mom to run a cafe. Hank comes off as arrogant and controlling which raises Leah's hackles and once she learns the reason for his interest she explodes. From their first meeting, sparks fly but now Hank has to convince her to forgive him and take a chance on love.
Family Wanted by Cari Lynn Webb - Paige Duffy has always wanted a family and when she discovers that she is pregnant from a one-night stand with her friend. Gavin Cole's grandfather passed away six months ago and now Gavin is set to make his dream of sailing around the world come true but when Paige tells him that he is going to be a father, he is conflicted. Gavin realizes that his real dream is a life with Paige but now he must convince her.
All of these stories are filled with heart, sweetness, a few tears and a lot of love to keep you reading until the very last page.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
You get four books in this boxset which are all based in Sea Glass Bay and about the guys and gals who think that love isn't going to happen to them anymore. MOM WANTED will melt your heart with how ridiculously cute Lindie is and while you feel the push/pull between Sully and Claire they really just need to listen to Lindie! But getting over your past takes time and sometimes a big shock to make it clear what you really want. Then you have FATHER WANTED now I will be honest and say I felt Jazzy was being a bit selfish about everything but I also get it why and also knew Jeremiah needed the chance to really show her how much she and Caleb meant to him but oh boy did I worry about how bad that situation would be! Next up is HERO WANTED and oh the laughs I had with this one in regards to Hanks and the way he slid into those dates and then Leah's friendship with Marisol was soo sweet. Both Leah and Hank are awkward with the whole dating thing and you hope Hank's ideas for Leah's isn't going to blow up in his face as they make such the perfect match! Lastly we have FAMILY WANTED and I dare you not to love Paige, she is finally doing something she loves after the rat race of her old life and learning of the support and friendship her friend Gavin's Grandad had provided her is so sweet, but lets not forget Aunt Trudy and Benita those old gals are just amazing. Gavin really needs to listen to his friends as for guys they actually are spot on with their "friend analogy" as well as reflect on what his dream really is as I don't think Grandad would be impressed with how he is dealing with Paige and their baby. You know Paige is strong enough and has loads of support to do it on her own but Gavin loves her if only he can get out of his head and lead with his heart!! Once you have read all four stories you get to the Epilogue and well I was all damn smiles seeing everyone together as one big family and Trudy, Benita and Marisol who I see as the Matriarch's of the Sea Glass Bay family!
Fans of sweet contemporary romances will find much to love in this heartwarming anthology. In “Mom Wanted” by Anna J. Stewart, when young Lindie Vaughn hires art school teacher Claire Bishop as her “after-school adult,” it prompts Lindie’s father Sully to rethink his own plans for the future. Jazzy Dunbar was perfectly happy to have her friend Jeremiah Caldwell’s help conceiving her son Caleb, but now Jeremiah wants to play a permanent role in both Jazzy’s and Caleb’s lives in Kayla Perrin’s “Father Wanted.” In Melinda Curtis’ “Hero Wanted,” Leah Martin needs a “hot” man to take her ex-husband’s upcoming wedding, but why is that all of Leah’s friends keep setting her up with grumpy bar owner Hank DeLeon? Paige Duffy struggles with telling her best friend Gavin Cole that their one-night stand has some unintended results since this could scuttle Gavin’s plans to leave town and head for the open seas in “Family Wanted,” by Cari Lynn Webb. The short story format can be challenging, but to their considerable credit, each author’s skillful handing of the romantic relationship in her own contribution to this engaging anthology means readers of A Second Chance for Love are guaranteed to come away with four equally emotionally compelling love stories that not only celebrate love but also champion the importance of family and friends in life. Fans of small-town romances will also especially appreciate the deft manner in which each author captures the endearing charm and easygoing pace of life in Sea Glass Bay.
"A Second Chance for Love: A Sea Glass Bay Romance Book" (An Anthology Celebrating Mother's Day) is a fabulous collection of short stories by a talented group of authors. I loved all of these stories and hope we'll get to hear more about these characters in the future.
"Mom Wanted" by Anna J. Stewart is a wonderful read. I enjoyed reading about Claire, Sully, and Lindie. This story has romance, family, friends, entertaining characters, overcoming loss, small-town life, second chances, and more. Recommend to all fans of clean romance, small-town life, second chances, and short stories.
"Father Wanted" by Kayla Perrin is a fantastic read. I enjoyed reading Jazzy, Jeremiah, and Caleb's story. This is a wonderful addition to this collection. This story had romance, close friends, small-town life, family, and more. Recommend to all fans of romance, small-town life, and short stories.
"Hero Wanted" by Melinda Curtis is a terrific read. I loved reading about Leah, Hank, and Owen. This story has romance, humor, friends, small-town life, entertaining characters, and more. This was another wonderful addition to this collection. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, family, close friends, and short stories.
"Family Wanted" by Cari Lynn Webb is a delightful read. I enjoyed Paige and Gavin's story. This was another fantastic addition to this collection. This story was packed with entertaining characters, family, close friends, small-town life, humor, and more. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, family, friends, and short stories.
Four interconnected novellas following four 30ish female friends finding love 4.5*.
Mom Wanted by Anna J. Stewart - Art teacher Claire is unable to have children but finds contentment in her interactions with her pupils. One little girl in particular she is losing her heart to but her widowed father doesn’t want Lindie to have her heart broken. Can the three of them have a future?
Father Wanted by Kayla Perrin - With a broken marriage behind her, when Jazzy’s biological click starts ticking, she decides on going it alone as a single mother. Her life with three month old Caleb is just perfect until she decides to have a legal document confirm her solo parental rights. Her friend, Caleb’s father, is decidedly unhappy!
Hero Wanted by Melinda Curtis - Leah is invited to her ex-husband’s wedding and needs a hot date. Her three closest friends make a series of blind dates for her, how come each time it’s the same person? He’s arrogant, make decisions without asking her and unbeknownst to her, he’s after her shop!
Family Wanted by Cari Lynn Webb - An expected pregnancy for Paige is exciting but scary, will she have to face the future alone? Her dreams are dashed before she can tell the father her news. What eventually happens is both delightful and romantic.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this box set from one of the authors. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Mom wanted- Anna J. Stewart Cute love story with a little girl that has enough sass to keep you turning the pages. I really liked Claire she has a big heart willing to just love on those closest to her.
Father wanted- Kayla Perrin Finding love in the most unconventional way. The only thing I wish about this story was that the author gave more of Jeremiah’s side of the story.
Hero Wanted-Melinda Curtis Marisol is a sweet mama who is hard not to fall in love with, she just seems to take everyone who she cares for under her wing. Leah is a pistol and speaks her mind, sometimes but only when it matters. Charlie I would like to punch.
Family Wanted-Cari Lynn Webb Marisol is back in this story just as sweet as can be, being the mother hen to a bunch of friends who either lack a mom or mom is out of the picture. I like Paige she feels like a bit of a free spirit but super grounded and loves her aunts. Gavin seems flighty but also seems unsure of what’s next in life and how to go about grabbing hold and going along for the ride.
Overall I really enjoyed these four stories, each one stood out for different reasons but overall it was neat to read about close friendships that mean the world to each person and about making "family" and how family doesn't always share the same blood. All the books are kept clean read and suitable for all. Well worth the reads!!!
If you're a fan of sweet, small-town romance, liberally sprinkled with humor and heart, supportive female friendships, second chances at love, engaging characters, and a solid family foundation (in whatever form that may take), you'll want to pick up a copy of A Second Chance for Love.
Stewart, Perrin, Curtis, and Webb all bring their own unique spin to these stories while also giving readers a seamless transition from couple to couple, maintaining consistency among the characters as well as the setting. I enjoyed the different relationships that played out over the course of all four stories. I became invested in the four main couples, but also in several secondary characters. I'm curious to know if there are more anthologies planned for this quartet, or possibly more stories for certain characters by individual authors? I'd certainly be in line to buy them.
This anthology is a bit like a box of assorted sweets. There are varied tropes, diverse characters, and heroines (and heroes) at different stages of their lives. You may have your personal favorite but they're all equally good and sure to satisfy.
A Second Chance for Love: A Sea Glass Bay Romance Book by Anna J Stewart, Kayla Perrin, Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb is four novellas connected because the main characters are five close friends. The five stories are MOM WANTED by Anna J Stewart,FATHER WANTED by Kayla Perrin,HERO WANTED by Melinda Curtis,FAMILY WANTED by Cari Lynn Webb. the compliment each other but would have done as stand alone. The stories connect thru the friends and town of Sea Glass Bay which keep you in touch the characters in the other stories. I enjoyed that each novella showed a strong family connect and friend connect. Each woman is stronger because of the town and her friends as well as family. The characters are well developed and realistic. The town of Sea Glass reminds me of several small coastal towns that I have visited. I have read Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb and Ann J Stewart before but Kayla Perrin is new to me. I enjoyed all four of them so I am sure I will be adding Kayla Perrin to my list of authors that I follow as the rest are on the list.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this box set from one of the authors. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This anthology takes place in Sea Glass Bay and is in celebration of Mother's Day. Four talented authors have come together to give us this book filled with romance and love. I enjoyed all four stories. The common tie is the friendship between these ladies. I loved how they support each other. The characters are so full of life. They each have a dream. I wanted them to find what their hearts desired. The books flowed together beautifully. The setting is inviting. The dialogue is smart and sassy. For example in Hero Wanted Melinda Curtis created a feel good romance. Leah Martin is a divorced mom who has been invited to her ex-husband's wedding. Now she needs a plus one. That's not easy when you're not dating and you are raising a rambunctious little boy. I laughed when her friends kept setting her up with a blind date. She kept ending up with Hank DeLeon. Their attraction is obvious but their dates always end on a bad note. I couldn't believe what kept happening. Would they ever get together? I enjoyed all the romances in A Second Chance Love. It was a perfect. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.
A second Chance for Love is a heartwarming anthology full of love and the importance of family. I enjoyed all the stories. Kayla Perrin's Father Wanted introduces Jazzy Dunbar, baby Caleb and Caleb's daddy Jeremiah and how they became a family. Anna J. Stewart's Mom Wanted introduces Claire Bishop and how she and Sully along with Sully's daughter Lindie became a family. Carrie Lynn Webb's Family Wanted introduces Paige who discovers she is pregnant after one night with her best friend Gavin and how they discover what they wanted most was love for each other and their baby.
My favorite story in this anthology is Melinda Curtis' Hero Wanted. Leah Martin needs a plus-one for her ex-husband's wedding. Their son Owen is going to be the ring bearer at the wedding and Leah is sure her invitation is only to have someone there to watch Owen. Leah's friends suggest Leah arrive with a hot date. How her friends go about setting her up with blind dates which end up being very surprising makes for a fun read.
I enjoyed this anthology of 4 stories about best friends living at a beachside town. They were 30ish women who had been burned in relationship and didn't really want to try again but in each instance either wanted to be a mother or were mothers and wished they had a partner alongside them. I really wanted to live in this town! It sounded amazing! Wonderful people and beautiful sights! The little kids that were part of the book will steal your heart too! Paige, Jazzy, Claire and Leah are all women who are independent and strong but so caring and loving. The men they end up with are just right for them - they let them continue to be who they are and that's important! I hope we get to see more stories set in this beachside town!
One book, four stories, four authors. The stories have a main theme in common, they all take place in a small town on the ocean – Sea Glass Bay. Each story is unique on its own, but flow together seamlessly. Each author has a unique voice, yet they come together to make Mother’s Day the overall theme and finding happy-ever-afters. I enjoyed reading each story and can’t pick a favourite as they were all heartwarming and emotional. A great combination of authors and stories. Reviewed for Still Moments Magazine.
These four authors have written a wonderful book. It always amazes me how different authors can write a series and put it together like this. This is a must read book.
They make you fall in love with the characters so that you have to continue reading the book. Kayla Perrin was a new author for me. I have loved every book that Melinda Curtis has written that I have read. Carrie Lynn and Anna are authors that I have read a few books from. These are all authors that you should read.
4 short stories about best friends who live in Sea Glass Bay. They all deserve to be happy and have a second chance at love. Anna Stewart writes Mom Wanted, Kayla Perrin, Father wanted. Melinda Curtis, Hero Wanted and Cari Webb Family wanted. Several of these authors are new to me but I enjoyed all 4 stories and the way they were interwoven. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Four very sweet stories of second chances. Four friends find love in unexpected ways. The four women are very independent and self-sufficient, but love kind of sneaks up on them. The men too are not looking for anything permanent, but it happens. They have not had the best examples and wonder if long-term is for them. Do they have what it takes to make it?
Four friends in a small seaside town get a second chance at their HEA. A set of four short novellas written by some of my favourite authors. Each story explores the love life of one of the women.
What a warm, fun, finding-your-significant-other group of stories! It’s all about friends – both female and male – that sort of stumble into relationships, when one or both partners aren’t looking for one. I thought Claire was superwoman, imho, as she was an amazing friend, teacher, and mentor to everyone. Throw in six year old Lindie, and her dad, Sully, and it was a truly heartwarming, grab you right in the feels story. Claire and Sully make a great couple but they both have traumas in their backgrounds that makes it hard for them to move forward. Enter Lindie, and the little whirlwind makes them jump to her wishes. In a good way. Loved Mom Wanted by Anna J. Stewart.
In Father Wanted by Kayla Perrin, Jazzy and her son Caleb are learning to be a family. Caleb is a newborn but the love of Jazzy’s life. Caleb’s father is Jeremiah but you’ll have to read the story to get the background. Jeremiah is there for both Jazzy and Caleb especially when they both really need help. I loved Jeremiah and Jazzy is running scared… Really sweet story.
In Hero Wanted by Melinda Curtis, Leah is dealing with an ex-husband of the worst kind and his super chic new girlfriend. Leah and her ex have a child together, little Owen (who is a cutie) but as often happens, Owen is most important to Leah – not exactly a priority for Leah’s ex. Great story for Leah – she keeps getting fixed up for blind dates to take to her ex’s wedding but they always seem to be the same person, Hank (Henry). Leah is a strong character and puts Hank in his place, more than once. Hank is a little clueless at times but in a very sweet way. Good story!
Family Wanted by Cari Lynn Webb is about Paige and her best friend, Gavin…only they aren’t seeing one another romantically…well, except for that one time. And Paige turns up pregnant! Paige and Gavin both have (let’s call it) abandonment issues and also dealing with expectations set for them long ago. I love the ending to this story where Gavin gets advice from the other guys. It will be pretty funny, in an ironic kinda way, as they now consider themselves “experts”. Cute! I enjoyed this one as well.
There’s an Epilogue and it ties up the stories and gave me closure. Great group of stories!
Four soft hearted second chance stories set in Sea Glass Bay featured Anna J. Stewart’s Mom Wanted, Father Wanted by Kayla Perrin, Hero Wanted by Melinda Curtis and Cari Lynn Webb’s Family Wanted. Second chances never stop even a chance of love as Mother Day approaches. A warm fuzzy read.
In Mom Wanted a little girl gets too attached to her favorite teacher. Her protective dad is trying to save his daughter from further heartache and loss which hit him hard. He did not expect to fall for her while his daughter seeks the perfect mom.
In Father Wanted a single mom who does not need men except as a sperm donor. She is happy with their friendship and a no string relationship. He is not quite happy about being part time dad as he start to want more but she does not want to ruin their friendship with their attraction. Soon the situation is threatened that will have their love and the chance of a perfect family.
Hero Wanted a single mom needs a date for her ex-husband wedding since their son is the ring bearer she has to attend. She is too busy being a florist with Mother’s Day approaching that she allows her friends to set her up on a blind date. He wants her to relocate as they share an alley that will make a perfect spot for a restaurant to go with his bar. Will he end up more than a business proposition but a lifelong one as well?
Family Wanted a newly let go woman opens up a candle booth as her severance money is running out finds out she is pregnant from a one night stand. The father recently lost his grandfather and promised him to pursue his dream of sailing. What will he do when he learns that he will be a dad?
These four amazing authors have done a perfect job of finding the best romance stories just in time for Mother’s Day. The stories are instantly grabbing and entertaining, bringing forth both romance and rich character development within a short amount of time. The stories feel profound and well-rounded, something not every author can accomplish within a short story, and yet each of these narratives shines brightly on its own.
What was incredibly impressive was the perfect balance the authors found with not only keeping their stories set within the same fictional town and world that this collection embodies, but still managed to hold onto their own unique writing voices and styles within their own narratives. Each author brought authenticity and engaged the reader on an emotional level, capturing the heart and romance of the collection’s theme perfectly.
The Verdict
A masterful, entertaining, and emotionally-driven narrative, “A Second Chance for Love” is a must-read romantic anthology. Fantastic writing and great character build-up in such a short span of time make this a fun and exciting read, and fans of the genre will absolutely fall in love with the love stories of this collection. Be sure to grab your copy today!
This is a lovely collection of stories taking place in the same town, each focusing on two people that will find their Happily Ever After. I have read books by two of the authors previously, and enjoying getting a sample of the other author’s styles. All the stories worked well together and I found the writing styles similar, which bought them all together very nicely. Although it is difficult to pick a favorite, I would choice Melinda Curtis’ story since I adored her humor throughout it.
