The turn may be blind but all of the subjects gained true sight!

Yet another of the Technician series that gave us a glimpse into the life of yet another assassin who came to have a family to protect and love while dispensing with the truly bad guys that roam this earth and do unspeakable things to women and children. Mr. Merge was just that kind of man who was a loner initially and ended up making friends with some of the other technicians and finding a family to help him, the woman he chose to share his life and the children themselves heal. I laughed out loud all through this book and was totally captivated by all of the characters as they converged on Mr. Merge's home as well as the children Archangel sent his way for him to raise and protect! I also got an opportunity to interact with little Miss Karli who is the epitome of precocious! She also has some deep insight to be just ten year old. I truly love Karli! The love that Mr. One Way was introduced to in the home of Mr. Merge made him end up rescuing a woman and a small child from what would more than likely have been some horrific occurrences! I wonder if he is going to take them as his family when his story is released and I pray his story is released because it seems to be too good not to tell! I was pleased to see Mr. Exit and his family make an appearance in Mr. Merge's story as well as the Archangel who got more than he bargained for from the initial two teens he sent to Mr. Merge. I see some really good things for each of these children sent to Mr. Merge and his now bride Dr. Regina Tootie Musgrove! With all of the characters introduced in this installment of the Technicians, I foresee many good stories to come in the future! At least I hope so! This was an excellent story Mrs. Gaines and it reminded me of why I love your writings so very much! Thank you for a very good read!

Family is everything

A loving family heals the hurt of a bad life experience. Joel Thomas never wanted to get married. As a matter of fact, he did not like people. But when the Archangel Gabriel placed an abused boy from foster care with him, his attitude started to change. He could relate to Dexter as he too was a product of foster care after his parents died. The Archangel did not stop there but added three more abused kids to his family. Now he was thinking about marrying his long-time lady love, Dr. Tootie. She too had a back history to tell which makes karma come full circle. She was as much in need of her own family as Joel was. This is what one would call really paying it forward. It was a heartwarming story in the end. I hated hearing about what everyone endured but as the old folks say "trouble don't last always."

All this family stuff was making One Way (Wun Wei) rethink his needs for a family as well. He is the Technician that is hard to figure out. But he too had been saved by the Archangel Gabriel. He even had Dexter and Ayana wanting to join the Technicians when they grow up.

I just love how Olivia writes. She made this story come full circle with the backstories. Little Carly tickled me chasing One Way. She actually scared the assassin. That in itself was funny. I can’t wait to read One Way’s story.

Powerfully beautiful story of hope and family through so, so much pain

The characters were so well developed, you feel as though you are getting to know them through the stories they tell which are filled with so much pain I just wanted to cry. I appreciated the attention given to Dr. Tootie and seeing her development and process as things came together for her in her heart and mind, as she became who she wanted to be in the context given her. It was good to see prior characters as part of this story and Karly added and was the extra she always is! And seeing Gabriel again was very good. I'm already ready for One Way and how he's gonna pull at my heart...Yeah, Mr. Merge was ready...but in the end he was. Another triumphant read for the Southeast Construction Crew, relieving the world of the waste of oxygen some evil human beings are and adding their own dose of healing specifically to a special woman and some children from Ms. Olivia Gaines.

Truly enjoy this series…

The storylines, the characters and most of all the story telling; the laughter, tears and the humanity all woven together make for an enjoyable, can’t put it down, read. I finish one in total anticipation of the next release… that don’t want it to end feeling. What a gift you have, thank you for sharing.

I’ve read a number of your writings and what a pleasure you’ve brought to me. I’ve yet to begin the Blakemore series or completed, to date, the modern mail-order brides. Any book I can reread, later on, with equal interest is a treasure.

Please pardon my lack of reviews, as much as I enjoy reading, and I do an awful lot, I’m terrible about taking time to acknowledge the authors, other than making sure I follow my favorites and miss no new release!

With sincere appreciation for the hard work, research and time to conclude in a really good story
I thank you.

This was an emotional read

This was an on the edge read for me. I throughly enjoyed the logistics of this story...The humor was truly on point ..the reappearance of characters is always a plus for me...Karli is that matchmaker in New York distant relative....I like how the story came together and I like how the bad ppl were handled!!!..the venom brought flashbacks from another story. I like how The Archangel appears ..I loved his interaction with the kids..I love how Dex's character evolves...ie him not letting anyone mess up his new found home...tootie...Dr tootie was a complete surprise and very enjoyable character...the twist and turns were great...the setup for the next story was bomb!!! Thank you for an enjoyable read!!!!!!

Mighty Fine Reading

Could not stop reading it. Been up all night turning pages. Mr Merge and Dr Tootie were given a second chance at having children brought tears to my eyes. I have run-on sentences too. Joel got me slipping back into my southern dialect. Those kids, Dex, Ayana, had been through some hard times, but survived. They deserved a family that Joel and Tootie could provide. Merge going back to visit Ayana's father & uncle was a surprise turn of events. One Way was introduced to us and now I'm on pins & needles to see how his new family bond together. Each book just keeps getting better and better.

So Good.. So Good

During the preview in book five, I thought Mr. Merge would be resistant to marriage. He was cussing Gabriel out because he had forced the other ones to marry, except Zeke. This book was so funny, I am up at after 4am trying to quietly laugh so I don't wake the house . I was crying, I laugh so hard. I am still laughing. I am already laughing at One Way and this is just his preview. Thank you for having and awesome editor. Kharli is still as funny as ever. I love the way you wrote Merge and Tootie love story. I shed a few tears, too, especially when they had the gavel. Thank you for making my week. I anxiously await your next book.

Awesome!

Oh my word, this was awesome. I’ve read all of The Technicians and this is, by far, my favorite. I downloaded the book and read it immediately.

I must say, though, chapter seven (7) lit the fuse and really started the ball rolling; it was awesome and off the charts!! Previous characters made an appearance, an exciting new character was introduced, and the current players of Mr. Merge and Dex were awesome. Dex’s character was strong and established himself as a force of leadership. There was humor, poignancy, morals, and just a damn good story.

I can’t say enough about this book and I look forward to continuing a great series.

Ms Gaines you have done it again! 👏 This was an awesome book! Loved the characters and storyline 👌❤! Karli is one very smart little girl! I could not put the book down and before you know it I was finished and looking for more! I can't wait for Wun Wei's story. You never let a sister down hats off to you, Ms Gaines. Don't want to say to much because someone may not have read it and don't want to give away anything but this book is the bomb! I highly recommend this book!

Awesome!

This was just an awesome story that kinda defies describing. It had so much depth that it is already begging to be reread in order to gleam what was missed in the first reading. After being introduced to Mr Merge in Mr Exit's book, I wasn't sure that I wanted to know his story. OMG, I am so glad that I didn't allow my hesitation stop me from this great book. So to all of your fans, Ms. Gaines, old and new, this is one book they don't want to bypass. Thank you! I can hardly wait for the next installment of The Technicians.

All. Of. That

I have to admit that it took me a second to warm up to Tootie and Joel's pairing. Maybe because i follow Mrs. Gaines on social media and the pictures she posted of the people that was supposed to represent them didn't seem to go together to me. But, I loved their makeshift family and Joel's straightforwardness. Loved some of the guys from the company coming together and their families interacting. Can't wait for One Way's story!

I have been enjoying reading the technician series. Again I could not put this down. Some of the issues described in this book brought me to tears. Mr merge and Dr Tootie both childless because of what happened to them at an young age but becoming parents to children that need love and security was fantastic to read about as they all have been through a lot in their young lives. Can't wait to read about One Way as little Karli spells it W.U.N. W.E.I

I love the Technicians

It ended too soon. I mean this was a full adventure that I didn’t want to end. I love how Tootie, Joel and the kids were brought together to heal. Ms. Gaines wrapped up all the puzzle pieces so well.
How long do we have to wait for One Way?!!!

The only negatives were the typos, not having a clear description of Joels appearance, misused words and Teasing us with One Way’s story.

It is okay to Merge

I really loved this story. I didn't much care for the adversity the characters had to go thru but I liked how they are all survivors. It was good to see a few characters from previous books in the series. Merge is used to life just running on until he has to step in & put a stop to badness. I'm glad while he might be a badman too bad people at heart he's a good man. Looking forward to others in this series.

I'm in on this series. Wow!

In the midst of getting through another book, I got an alert for this book. I read the sample, and I was hooked! This book interrupted my reading/listening schedule, and was a joy - so many times I laughed out loud (even with the tough back stories). Sometimes interruptions are for great cause - as was the case for me blazing through this book. This one is a keeper!💞

Awesome as always

This book and all of the series have kept my interest from beginning to end . This author's books depict subjects that are relevant and insightful, some parts are funny and some are sad and some make you angry as to the injustice of humans against the least fortunate. But in the end justice is always around the corner by unlikely sources.

Olivia you have done it Again with your storytelling. All of the characters in this story are absolutely hilarious in their own way. It was great visiting with Karli and her family. Dex is going to be a smaller version of Merge. Doc Tootie truly love merge. Ayana is a great cook. One Way is going to be a softie and a fierce protector of the kids.

To come together as one

Oh, I am in love with this series. Merge gave the children and Tootie something to believe in as well as himself. Merge is all dangerous but gentle when it is needed. Each of these Technicians are doing dangerous work and deserves to have love and happiness.

Great continuance in this series!

Olivia Gaines knows how to tell a story! Funny, insightful, empathetic and real life personified… you’ve meet her characters or seen them somewhere along the way, and this book proceeds in that familiarity. Looking forward to the next lineup in this series!

Wake Up!!!

I have to say that the best line in this book explains the entire book...Joel's grandfather taking care of Tootie when her folks passed...was exactly what it is full circle.

Joel starts off begrudgingly but by the end..he was all in and looking forward to family life.

Love love love Olivia!!!!

Great Read

I love this series. Merge and his adopted family are perfect. Each character's personality is engaging and Olivia has a way of drawing you into their stories. Some of the material is dark but handled delicately by Olivia. In this series the bad guys get their comeuppance .....Glimmer Man is still floating around though!

As usual, Mrs Gains did not disappoint. This journey to finding one's self from all of the characters was a roller coaster of emotions, but everything worked out in the end. Very touching is the interactions between Mr Merge and his family. And Karlie........well y'all ain't ready❣

🤣🤣🤣 whose child is this? That Lil girl has to be 85... She is too grown. Smart too! This has to be my 2nd favourite of all the series. You've touched on so many taboo topics. Great story! Love it! Bring Karli back again! Uncle One Way🤣🤣🤣
