This is the third and final book in the Raven Daughter series.
I’m fully bound to Caius and I don’t regret it. I carry more than his blood within me and I don’t regret that either.
Although we found safety, we can’t hide because souls aren't the only thing at stake anymore and time is running out as we race toward the dagger and whatever future comes after.
The veils themselves are weakening. Everyone knows my secret. Old wounds are forcing me to stop and face them. And now, I have more to fight for than the Lost. I’ve never had so much lose.
Chosen is the fantastic conclusion to the Raven Daughter trilogy, where Jo must face her destiny, unravel the threads of an ancient prophecy, and protect everything she holds dear from the collapse of worlds.
I absolutely loved this book and the entire series. Here’s what made Chosen a phenomenal finale for me:
Jo’s growth as a character was powerful and heartfelt—she’s strong, flawed, compassionate, and relatable.
The relationship between Jo and Caius deepens—intense, emotional, and rooted in real connection.
The mix of mythology, soul magic, reapers, gods, and prophecy was masterfully done and felt epic without losing its emotional center.
I laughed out loud more than once (thanks, gods!) and also cried—sometimes on the same page.
The stakes felt genuinely high, and the payoff at the end was satisfying and full of hope.
A.D. Trosper’s writing is easy to follow, beautiful, and full of heart.
This book gave me everything I wanted in a finale: action, emotion, high stakes, great pacing, and a conclusion that felt earned. Highly recommend the whole trilogy if you like your urban fantasy with heart, bite, and soul.
If you’ve Chosen to come this far—you won’t be disappointed. (And I have a trifecta!)
Note: This series needs to be read in order, or you’ll spoil all the fun. This review may feel thin because I didn't want to spoil anything.
What I can tell you is that if you like romances where the leads share the spotlight, you will love this one. In fact, Jo and Caius’s relationship is definitely my favorite part of this series. Jo is no damsel in distress and Caius is not a demon whose life was unfulfilled before meeting her. However, what they bring to each other, and to us, makes the chemistry more than just the sum of its parts. Unlike many romances today, this one gives us a relationship that feels real, not just based on hotness. Granted, Caius is drool-worthy, but he is also complex and sometimes brooding. And Jo has as many issues as Time magazine. But they make it work and I love that.
The stakes can’t get much higher for Jo and her crew, and Jo herself is put through the wringer in this one. But her trials make her stronger and we root for her every step of the way.
As we reach the final book of the Raven Daughter series, Trosper continues to give us vast, fantastical, and beautiful landscapes filled with varied races of people. Not to mention, a plethora of gods and goddesses. Normally, you won’t find deities rubbing elbows across cultural lines, but (like she does in her Bound books) Trosper boldly throws them together and comes up with intriguing alliances and chemistries all their own. Nyx and Hades are spectacular.
As for the prophecy, it plays out as true but with a twist—which is how the best prophecies work. But rest assured, it all ties up in the end, no cliffs awaiting the unwary reader here.
Oh and, I may have lied about Jo and Caius being my favorite part because the bastet cat Amisi is definitely up there. But that’s because she’s… a cat. A big, bad, magical cat.
Read the Raven Daughter trilogy, you’ll be glad you did.
Trosper has more than delivered a fantastic, beautifully-paced, breathless end to a unique series. The world itself is so clever and beautiful— seamlessly moving the reader from one mythical place to another. The level of world-building that is so clear in this series as a whole is astonishing. From the ‘Tween to Hades’ palace and all over the Between and more, reading this journey creates such a wonderful experience as if you’re living it yourself. The characters are so much more than people on paper— they feel like actual people. They are real, raw, true to themselves, and so much more than the often one-dimensional characters one usually finds with this genre. The love shared between Jo and Caius is beautiful; it’s so much more than “fated mates.” There’s true respect and devotion and love in their relationship, it’s stunning to live it with them. I found myself holding my breath turning the page, anxious to see what they’re going to do next and suffering that emotional high or meltdown with every character.
Trosper has mixed a very real level of wit and cleverness with seriousness and heartbreak and triumph that leaves the reader with more than just a memory of a story; she’s left a mark on the heart.
Loved everything about it!! The journey Jo and Cauis had was heartbreaking and yet beautiful at the same time. It wasn’t easy.. but so worth it!!! It has all the swoony vibes, the angst and even some emotional scenes that gutted me. Loved all the characters ( especially james the bestie) and the story! We even get some bonus scenes at the end! 😍 I think Cauis has made it to my top bookboyfriends of all time! Must read!
This final book—Chosen, in the Raven Daughter Trilogy was absolutely and unequivocally amazing. This epic conclusion was absolutely perfect on so many levels. And the best part, I DID NOT SEE ANY OF IT COMING! Lots of times I am able to foresee how a story is going to end but with this one I was pleasantly surprised and extremely satisfied by the ending! IT WAS SO GOOD!
After escaping the attempt on their baby’s unborn life Jo and Caius spend some much needed time resting and preparing for their quickly developing baby. And Jo goes through so many challenges brought on by her plethora of traumatic experiences and the raging hormones in her body caused by her pregnancy. But time is running out so Jo and Caius and their band of Merry Men are still trying to use the mysterious clues to find the stratigically hidden keys that will allow them to claim the dagger that will repair the veils and stop the lost. There are so many great things in this novel and they all combine to create the most perfect ending, one that I never saw coming.
I’ve already talked about how amazing Jo and Caius are so let’s talk about some other great characters. I absolutely adored Hades in this Trology…yes! I said it…Hades! He was awesome. Take the vision you have of him in your mind and wipe it clean. He isn’t at all what you pictured. Also, I am so jealous of Jo and her Bastet Cat Amisi. Amisi is everything a great familiar should be and I wish I had one—although I am afraid it would eat my two pugs…na, it would control itself. Anyways, there are so many great role breaking characters in this series and you just have to read it to discover them all.
All in all, Chosen truly was the Epic conclusion that the Raven Daughter Trilogy deserved. If you love a great story, with all the feels, amazing characters that sometimes steal your heart and others that rip it out, a beautiful found family, love, loyalty, so many secrets to unravel, and an epic conclusion you won’t see coming you just have to read it.

What a magnficent story in Chosen by A.D. Trosper. I am a big fan of this author! Whatever this author writes, I read. I love it when a Legacy author sends me more of their work! I read the first and second book in this series Raven Daughter and enjoyed them. A remarkable end to the trio of series, with Jo and Caius fully bound, connected to each other. It's more powerful than the other stories, but those were great to lead up to the finale. It's not all sunshine and roses, or even a great connection of souls, but even the hint of safety makes them question what is coming next, and they're right to do it. The future is just around the corner, and where does it lead? This author has a great imagination. The story brings in the believable, even if almost impossible. This is a magnificent story that kept this reader turning the pages. This title is a definite attention grabber, so much I couldn't put it down. The thrills and intrigue is written clearly. If you love a good paranormal romance with darkness behind every corner, this book should be next on your list. Chosen is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I look forward to reading many more titles by this author.
I really enjoyed this entire series. I love Trosper’s writing style. The world building was immersive. The characters were engaging and well thought out. The flow of the story moves so effortlessly that before you even realize it you’ve reached the end. There’s just the right amount of romance, steam, action, and humor.
Caius and Jo’s journey to find the dagger and stop the lost has been long and arduous. With a little “monitoring” from a few gods and goddesses, together they build an unstoppable army to defend themselves against enemies bent on destroying them. It was a rollercoaster of a ride to see Jo come into her full power.
Zachary Johnson voices Caius so well that it really is a bummer that he only has a few lines at the end of every chapter. Suzanne T. Fortin did a great job overall and they make for a dynamic duo. Overall, my only wish was that the audio was a duet rather than dual.
I absolutely loved this whole series and the way the narrators helped bring it to life.
There was so much humor, sass, heartbreak, and strength written into each character, it would be impossible not to love them all. Even the horrible ones. The world building was amazing and i still want a theme park made around this series. Audra crafted a tale that will stick with me for a long time. I can not wait to read her next series. She’s on my one click list for sure.
If you love a story where the characters grow and evolve, where they never stop fighting for what they believe in, where they don’t allow their past hurts to crush them and where they triumph in the end. You’ll love this story.
This is possibly the best series I have ever read. Please, please give it a try.
Jo and Caius continue their exhausting journey during this, the third book in the trilogy of Raven Daughter. Many things are revealed and their journey is unbelievably creative. The characters have real depth. The scenes were so vivid in my mind that I could almost hear the water and smell the trees. The aroma of the food swirled around my head.
A.D. Trosper has delivered a series so great that I had to read a couple of other books before I finished the series. I just did not want the journey to end but end it did with a new journey/life ahead of them.
So this was a series I was not sure about, but became immersed into. I love all of the characters, the author did a great job of building each of them based on their strengths and weaknesses. I was not prepared for the ending as I did not see that coming, but that's what made it better. I like books I cannot predict and this was one of them. I love the challenges that Jo and Cauis were put through and how they were each others strength. Loved the series and I definitely recommend it.
This is an excellent ending to a truly captivating series. This final book grabs your attention from the start and keeps you listening right to the end. The world building is excellent and I love how the characters continually evolve. The narrators did a great job of bringing the characters to life and making you feel all the emotions and tension in the story. This book has lots of twists, adventure, suspense, action, love and an ending that I did not predict. The whole trilogy is well worth listening to.
Really enjoyed this series and the ending felt nice and complete! Throughout the series there are a few editing errors missed which is easy for me to skip over but drives some readers crazy. Though I feel like there was great development in the world building, characters and story throughout the series! I would recommend this series to anyone who loves adventure, romance, enemies to lovers, fantasy, and a strong FMC. I loved Caius and Amisi, my favorite characters!
I am so sad that this series is finished. I could read about Caius and Jo forever. I loved the unique world the author has created here and she sucks you in until the last page. She keeps you on the edge of your seat in her typical style with you needing to know what happens next but also terrified of what is going to happen. I also love the little endings from Caius, its nice to get little tidbits from his own point of view. I will definitely be keeping this series in my favorites pile.
This was such a good series and the ending not what mmany would have thought. Well worth the time.
I’ve loved book 1 and 2 so much! The 3rd one was too complicated - there was too many things on going. I feel it should have been split into 2 books. It because difficult to follow the quests and things that were happening. I couldn’t focus on the environment and decor and it became a whole jumble mess in my mind. I took nearly 15 days to read this one whereas I devoured the other two in 2 days max each.
I loved the books they kept my interest from the very first word. I fell in love with No and felt we had somethings in common that I could relate to. I recommend these to anyone who likes the love and fantasies. It was an awesome experience and I am sad the books ended. I wanted more.
This final installment was a bit long and drawn out, but for the most part, was interesting. Throughout the series, there are some inconsistencies, but nothing that detracts too much from the story being told. That being said I loved Caius, Jo and her 'band of merry men.
I really enjoyed this book. I love how fierce she is and how protective of him with her. Their chemistry was great and their friends and family very loyal to them. I would love to listen to more books by AD Trosper.
I loved this series, I read all 3 books within a few days! Loved them so much so I reread the series straight away! Very engaging and different from most of the books I read previously. Definitely recommend!
Got first book free , got quite hooked bought second book got quite invested just had to finish the series . Really enjoyable may not be for the religious . Thank you A D Trosper
I wanted to like this more than I did, I'm afraid.
I listened to this and I felt like we spent the first half of the book waiting to get ready to leave and then when we finally did, we got somewhere else and waited there.
I was satisfied with how the book ended. I liked that it was all wrapped up with a bow.
Exhilarating, tumultuous finale that leaves you breathless! Chosen will take you to the edge of your seat, and keep you there until the very end! What an absolutely satisfying end to this magical, turbulent journey!
This is book 3 in the Raven Daughter trilogy, and should not be read out of order to truly understand the nuances and overarching storyline. Do start with Unveiled first, then Betrayed.
All the snark and sass you've grown to expect, combined with the brilliantly crafted worlds of the Between, the Veil, and our world. Jo and Caius's relationship has grown and feels real, even though they are magical beings. They deal with relationship issues, argue, love, and make-up like real couples do. The pregnancy solidified their bond, and then they realize they have to block each other's feelings through the bond just to survive any fights, so as to not get distracted. And do they get distracted! Especially when the baby comes! Wow! As usual, Jo is faced with some unbelievable trials, but with Caius at her side, she feels they can face anything. So many beings are gunning for them because of the prophecy, and things are intense throughout the journey. Loyal friends & family that have been there from the beginning, plus some new and unusual characters pledging their loyalty, boost their numbers and supply much needed assistance. I loved Hades and Nyx's characters... especially once the baby arrives! I laughed so hard! The gods like Bast, Nyx, and Hades are fantastic, I love their characters... and when baby comes, the arguing over who gets to hold her had me in stitches! Amisi is there again, in all her unique, mystical greatness, and I was excited to find out more about her. I mean if that's who Jo wanted to go to at the end of the last book, then, you KNOW she's important! Her story is bittersweet. There are many more twists and turns, and you finally get the prophecy answered, but it's not quite what was thought to be. The ending is perfect and leaves you with a satisfied feeling. All in all, you really must pick this up, it's well worth your time and it's such a fantastic series, but it WILL leave you with a book hangover!
I received an ARC of this book from an author or publicist, and have CHOSEN to leave an honest review.
