What do you do when the man you want the most is also the one man you can trust the least? When I distracted the security forces in Teevor so my friends could escape, I expected to be reunited with them a few hours later.
I should’ve known my opportunist boss would use my fast hands and predilection for deception to achieve his nefarious goals.
But there’s one element he didn’t factor into his plans. That element is huge, lethal, and his hands may even be faster than mine.
My future has only ever held three concrete walls and a row of steel bars. Love isn’t a possibility for someone like me, and the sexy, overprotective Thesian is a distraction I can’t afford.
But the higher I build the reinforced walls around my heart, the higher Bavix will climb over those walls in the biggest heist imaginable.
Unless I teach him that my father had it right. There’s no honor amongst thieves.
And there’s no love either.
Depaved is a full-length romance with no cliffhanger and a guaranteed HEA. Society of Savages is a spin-off from the hugely popular Warriors of Agron series and features characters from the Arcav Alien Invasion series. You'll enjoy Depraved more if you start with Wicked– book 1 in the Society of Savages Series.
Hope Hart has always told stories, and eventually, the characters in her head wouldn't leave her alone until she wrote them down.
She loves strong, kickass heroines and hot, brooding alpha males. Hope believes that everyone deserves a happy ending, although the best happy endings are fought for.
The action of this entry in the series was good, the MCs had good chemistry and built on the overarching storyline in a way that keeps me coming back for more. I loved that they’re both thieves and the professional competition fed into their chemistry. It was fun and I’m looking forward to what’s to come with this series.
Harper and Bravix's story was everything and then some. As characters they are very similar but with those similarities come a whole world of clashing personalities. It really was hilarious reading their back and forth banter and bickering. That only served to boast the palpable tension between them though and honestly, the chemistry was undeniable.
They had this funny dynamic which really worked for them. The playful taunting came across so natural between them it was almost like they already new each other. Like they already had a relationship. I enjoyed both characters and I liked the fact that they both had a little broken that made them relatable to each other. It wasn't all smooth sailing of course. Both characters had major trust issues and given their careers it made it almost impossible to believe one another. Plus the usual circumstances that added fuel to the fire. However it worked better then and that ending made my heart happy.
As far as story development goes and world building I thing Hope did a great job of expanding the world and opening us up to new and exciting possibilities whilst also explaining a little more about the world itself. Nothing felt rushed or misplaced and I really was completely consumed in all the alien crazy and it's larger than life personalities. It was all new and exciting and fun. The story paced well and the characters are very likable. I found my self laughing out loud more times than I could count and really just enjoying reading this book.
It's low in angst and deep drama but it's still entertaining and at times emotional. This series is shaping up to be great and I cannot wait to read the next book.
So far my favorite book from Hope Hart. I really love both main characters and their back stories, I love the thief theme and how they are both so cunning. Really enjoyed the plot twist at the end, I couldn't stop reading. The underlying Malakaz story line is exciting, you always just know enough to be hooked. I'm also super exciting about the potential upcoming alliance, can't wait to see characters from the other series again...most importantly, this series has (imo) the best Sex scenes!!

Well, I liked it more than the first book. Pacing was good and although this one suffered from the same "falls in love within days" nonsense it felt more believable than Makayla/Jax did in the first book to me.
I liked Harper. I was a little tired of hearing her backstory on repeat the entire book though. I understood how her past effected her and all but I didn't need it repeated every chapter.
I adored Bavix. I think I liked him more than Jax. He was the reason I think I enjoyed the story as much as I did.
Together Harper and Bavix were super cute. They worked perfectly for one another.
I'm still super intrigued about Blarie/Drax and definitely Malakaz/Aria (gimmieee) Now I'm curious what's going on with Eloise too.
Only thing I found disappointing was at the end when Bavix stormed off to confront Malakaz we never got to see it. It just jumped to the epilogue. Bummer!
During a rescue mission in the previous book, Wicked, Harper sacrificed herself in order to provide a distraction and cover, so the other human woman could escape out of the city. She now finds herself alone, injured and hunted by security bots with a slim chance of making it out herself. Help comes in the form of a very handsome alien. Who looks suspiciously like her boss, Malakaz. Of course, because he’s Mal’s brother, Bavix. But Mal isn’t ready to rescue Harper just yet. He’s got a job for her. And it’s going to require her to work with Bavix. Now she just needs to stick to her guns and not get involved.
I LOVED this couple. They were so perfect for each other. They had a lot in common. Both lost their parents at a young age and learned how to survive on the street. Bavix’s childhood seems reminiscent of Oliver and Jack Dawkins aka “The Artful Dodger.” They both have serious trust issues but feel this strong attraction to each other. I loved reading as their relationship progressed, which was at times outright funny, and sometimes so sad I kinda got a lump in my throat.
Character building was excellent. The only character that seems to be mentioned a lot, but still has a lot of holes is Malakaz. But his story is coming soon, so I suspect we will get all the details then. Overarching plot is interesting - even if a bit farfetched. But I am all in with this series. I highly recommend it to all fans of sci-fi romance books.
Written in first person, Depraved is book 2 of the Society of Savages series. It follows the Thesian alien Bravix, a species that is damn near extinction, and his human mate Harper. Harper was part of a human group that escaped their kidnappers (Grivath) after being abducted from Earth. It appears that most aliens despise the Grivath, who were also responsible for the decimation of the Thesians. The group of humans swore to seek vengeance by tracking down those who abducted them. The ship they stole ran out of fuel near the planet Brexos, the city of Teevor, (could be wrong about the names of their location 🤷♀️) which was unofficially ran by Malakaz, who happened to be Bavix’s brother. In exchange for helping them get revenge, the women agreed to work for Malakaz doing odd jobs. In book 1, Makayla broke Malakaz’s brother Jax out of prison, where they happened to find another brother Draz imprisoned, who was instantly fixated on Blaire when they busted him out. This book brought Malakaz’s brother Bavix back to him, a professional thief, through the likes of Harper, who was also a professional thief. The two con artists fell in love and eventually became inseparable. Harper was tasked by Malakaz to first steal a location from a scientist, then the powerful artifact that the location led to. Of course Bavix couldn’t help but insert himself and offer his crew where Harper was concerned, especially since they admired her for her clearly impressive skills. Basically, she was better than the band of misfits. Boo-yah! One of his crew betrayed them in the end, which only nudged Bavix to Harper more. They became mates and the rest is history.
I will point out a silly error in the sequence of events. Bavix already proved that he could “com” (basically make a phone call) to Harper before they landed on the planet to find and collect the artifact. Their coms obviously worked on the planet because Harper was in contact with Inix, the ship’s pilot. But when Harper figured out that there was a traitor in Bavix’s crew, why didn’t she just, you know, call the guy to warn him? Instead, she hauled ass up a mountain to warn him of the betrayal. But by the time she got there, it was too late. Had she made a simple com call, the ambush could have been avoided and his friend would still be alive. For such a smart thief, she was kinda dumb. But whatever, I digress.
I’m seeing a theme here that shows a bigger plot in the making behind the scenes. Either fate has a goal to reunite these brothers, or Malakaz does. So far, he’s succeeded in finding 3 of his brothers and bringing them back to him. But all the brothers hate Malakaz for something he did as a child that hurt and separated them. Malakaz himself is fixated on the human female Aria, and I am looking forward to the book that brings the two together.
I’m officially hooked on the story line of these couples and will undoubtedly finish this series. I like that it was written in first person perspective, and it had just the right balance of romance and adventure. The book wasn’t too long or too short, it was just right with a happily ever after. These are well written enough that I will also examine the author’s prior work. 🫶🏻
Alright! Time for instalment number 2 for Hope Harts new series! This one was also amazing! I loved Harper’s character so much! She intrigued me since the first book and I was excited to get to her story. Bavix was also a great MC. He had a good heart regardless of his family ties and he caught feelings early on for our sweet lil sticky fingers. 😍 they had some amazing chemistry together and Hope’s world building was amazing! She had me laughing at a few scenes as she always does. Hope has a great sense of humor and it always comes out in her books. I’m hoping the girls mate with some of Bavix’s crew. Without going into serious detail or spoilers there were some I hated and some I liked. Those I liked I hope get mates. We’ll see how that turns out. My theory from my review of book one who Malakaz had his eye on was correct. I am sooooo 🤤 and can’t wait for their book. Yes lord! I cannot wait for that book! We are learning more and more about this family and as the past gets pulled into the present we are learning that Mr Big Bad may not be as terrible as we think. I cannot wait for this to be explored. All I will say on this subject. Eloise really worried me. They hinted on something about her and I’m calling the other women stupid considering their track record on missing things I’m worried they’re missing something again that’s plain as day. I guess we’ll have to see in her book when it rolls around. Something major was also hinted at with Makayla and if this alliance works out I will do so many happy dances! I hope we see more of these people and I hope more will be written! Hope has my head spinning with these books and it’s all for the good! Looks like the next book will be Emma’s turn. I’m very interested in her story as well. All of these women are very likeable and you want to get to know them. I can’t wait to read her book. As I suggested in Wicked, you may start with Wicked but if you never read the other books I suggest you start with the Arcav series then the Warriors of Argon to catch up to speed so you can know who the key players in the universe is and why there’s so much universal hate for certain race of aliens etc. Backstory I find is always important. At least to me. I want to know it all, also it gives you more awesome books to read ! Who doesn’t want more books to read? This bear 🐻 gives this book 5 cosmic stars. 💥💥💥💥💥
I received this book as an ARC from the publisher for my unbiased review.
Second story of the new spin-off in the Arcav / Agron universe featuring two thieves, Harper and Bavix. I personally do not consider this to be a stand-alone within the current series, as there are too many reoccurring characters and overarching scenes and themes. This series timeframe begins after the end of the original two Arcav series. So while it may not be absolutely necessary to have read those series, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend they also be read in publication order. This is because there is additional background that just can’t be adequately explained.
** This is an alien PNR series that features elements of female abduction and their intended enslavement. It contains scenes and /or themes that may be difficult for sensitive readers. A high-level listing of topics is listed below for anyone interested. **
— If you have not read this story, or any of the series, the following may contain spoilers! —
I really love the action and added mystery / suspense with this new series. Not only do we have the so called ‘treasure hunts’ the females are being sent on by Malakaz, which have some how all featured his estranged siblings, but the intrigue around his machinations and hidden agenda.
In this story, we finally find out what transpired with Harper when she dropped off Makayla, Emma, and Jax so they could get away after they ‘liberated’ Jax from jail. We are also introduced to Bavix, another of the estranged brothers of Malakaz, when he helps rescue Harper. We find out about both of their backgrounds and the ‘family’ they have built since they each lost their parents.
Is there honor among thieves? Harper and Bavix are on a journey to find out …
There are some grammatical errors in the story, but nothing difficult to interpret. I uploaded my other notes to Goodreads for anyone interested. I mention these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
⛔️ Contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with elements of dominance, etc.; violence such as abduction, murder, death, theft, embezzlement, torture, war between alien races, betrayal, human trafficking, enslavement, etc.
This is currently my new favorite series! N the last book Harper split off from the team that rescued Jax and used herself as a distraction. This boom picks up from this moment she speeds away with the law of Brexos on her tail.Harper ends up crashing her speeder and has to escape on foot. That's where she meets Bavix another Thesian but he's even more gorgeous than Jax , he has a sexy voice and makes Harper's heart race in a way she has never felt before. He's also a thief but one that has a lot of honor. Harper doesn't thinks she's worthy of much she has had a very rough life and has experienced a lot of tragedy but she's loyal and will do what needs to be done to help her fellow survivors. Bavix wants Harper to trust him he knows that she's working for his hated brother but can't figure out why. Harper wants to trust Bavix but her life before abduction has taught her trust gets you killed. To trust or not to trust? Do you let the actions of the last rule the rest of your life? Both of these characters struggle with this through out the story. But love and the ability to recognize when your wrong makes this story such a delicious read . The perfect amount of action, passion and intrigue that leaves you wanting more ! The next story can't come out fast enough as far as I'm concerned! Highly recommend!!!🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
👽 “We’re partners in everything, little thief.” ~~~ Harper is a smart, feisty and resourceful thief. In the previous book she remained behind so that the other women could escape. She’s been through a serious trauma in her childhood and I loved her strength and bravery when she had to deal with difficult situations.
Bavix is strong, determined, protective and bossy. Although he’s the leader of a team of thieves and outlaws, he still has honor. I loved how he saw through Harper’s tough exterior and nonchalance and was able to discover the great woman she truly was.
The development of their relationship was great. Both were a little broken and had serious trust issues and it took time to trust each other. And this trust was constantly tested. And both had a past to deal with and accept in order to find happiness. But their chemistry was spectacular and their attraction sizzling hot. I so loved the playful taunting. After everything they went through, they more than deserved their HEA.
Also, the hunt for the mystical artefact and its history was very exciting and interesting.
In addition, I’m curious what Malakaz’s end game is.
Overall, the story is another great read filled with action, danger, drama, betrayal, mystical artefacts, steamy romance and wonderful characters.
As an avid reader of Ms. Hope Hart’s series (I’ve devoured both the Warriors of Agron and the Arcav Alien Invasion series) I couldn’t tear myself away when she introduced us to the Society of Savages series. Plopping myself down with my Kindle, I dove back into this realm of wonder and finished this book within a day.
Not an author to beat us over the head with information, Ms. Hart illustrates a world rife with suspense, steamy romance, and enough intrigue/action that you spend a good deal of reading this book with your heart in either your throat or stomach. Harper and Bavix are not a usual couple and their willingness to take bitter and the sweet of the hills and valleys of their journey to each other is not to be underestimated.
If you are in the market for a new read that will help you escape your everyday, I highly recommend this one. You will be transported to a far galaxy and dropped into a land where credits talk. Buckle up for a somewhat bumpy ride. Just don’t get upset when you reach the final page and have to return to reality.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher.
It's interesting watching two thieves fall for each other because they are both consummate liars. It can be tricky to write well because how does the author make it believable that these two people could ever trust each other? And yet, she does. It's delightful watching them appreciate each other's skills and especially the MFC's ability to charm anyone and steal anything. (Harken back to the 9th Agron book where two spies fall in love and have the same challenge with trust - also well done).
The MMC is another one of the brothers, making him the fourth we've been introduced to.
The back story is building up nicely. There are plenty of mysteries for us to wonder about and the world itself is full of interesting aliens and planets.
My favorite fun line from MMC to FMC, “You wear my shirt better than I do.”
This book was a wonderful emotional ride. It is filled with action, suspense, steamy romance and heartbreaking betrayal. And a few plot surprises. All of this makes it worth reading. Harper and Bavix relationship is a roller coaster ride in itself. So much from their past they must fight to get past. Definitely one of the best books I have read lately. I recommend reading this book. Make sure you have plenty of time as you won’t be able to put it down. Definite page turner.
So far this series continues on with the women who refused to stay with the other Alpha males from the previous planet 😃. Bound and determined to put an end to the Gravith (?) who enslave human women and kill everybody else, they have been training and doing missions for Makalaz (?) who rules over most of the planet they landed on 😖. Thanks again Hope, other than forgetting how to spell the names, I'm thoroughly addicted to this series and can't wait to read more 🤓.
Hope Hart is a one click author for me, ever since I read The Arcav King's Mate. I was skeptical about spinoffs and she proved me wrong. In this book we meet Harper, a human thief, and Bravix, who appears to be both a thief and a mercenary. Their relationship is unlikely yet inevitable. It appears we will see the Arcav again and I can't wait. Fantastic alien romance series.
I was a bit hesitant with this one I wasn't sure if it would be up my alley with how things ended for Harper in the last book but I thoroughly enjoyed this story especially when our strong and independent Harper is met by a hunky alpha alien thats ready to counteract every move and reaction she made with and mostly against him with his own stubbornness and wit this was such a fantastic read that I am going back for seconds while I painfully wait until the next book in the series to come along
I have a pet peeves however when characters or narration in books when talking about sexual assault or abuse says things like 'im stronger than that' or 'i wouldn't let myself be a victim' or similar when describing how they evaded their attacker. It's super victim blaming and basically says to rape or child sexual assault victims that they weren't strong enough or they let themselves be a victim. Which is gross.
I found myself glued to this book, I couldn't put it down! This couple were amazing! I loved how they interacted and grew into their relationship. The series continues and I am caught up in the ongoing struggle. Ooo it's getting exciting!!! If I could give it 1000 stars I would!

Harper and Bavix maybe my new favorite couple in this series! A thief recognizes a thief! Weaving a truly fun adventure Ms. Hart mixes in some fun with and laughs with some good old fashion romance!! If you loved the Arcav mates this is the book for you! This is definitely a series you should immediately click buy on! You will not be disappointed!
This was such a great book. I started it this morning and couldn’t put it down. These women are not playing around. Harper showed she don’t take any crap. Bavix saw his little thief and fell in love. I have a feeling at the end of this series there is going to be a big surprise.
I’m addicted! This is such a good series and an excellent follow up to ARCAVE MATES SERIES & mates & alien’s WARRIORS OF AGRON SERIES . I would like a bonus story connecting the 3 series together though the ARCAV need to follow up with the women on AGRON, etc. now for book 3 in SOCIETY OF SAVAGES SERIES. ?????
This is the second book on this new series, which has plenty of action, romance and humor! You will need to read the first book in order to understand better the rest of the characters of the story. If u r looking for a light alien read that is well written, then this is the book for you!!
A standalone book that will engage your imagination and keep you guessing. Two sets of thieves are after the same icon. One set is women who work for a very demanding male boss. The other a group of men who consider themselves brothers. Add danger, murderous aliens, and betrayal and you have Depraved.
These human women are calculating, loyal to each other and courageous to a fault. The attraction between Brevix and Harper is fraught with mistrust and past issues. It is great albeit short.
Oops! I didn't realize that this is the second book in this spin-off series. I still very much enjoyed it although I found the beginning a bit slow. I felt like it hopped around a bit too much. Otherwise, I enjoyed the middle and end.
A great read for the weekend. I couldn't put it down. The characters were alike in many ways. A great continuing storyline. If you had read the warriors of agron series.
This book was so much fun. I loved the sneakiness, the hi-tech gagets and the cat burglar vibe. Harper is my favorite character and this book told her story perfectly. Two thumbs up. 👍 👍
Swoon. This story packs a punch. This is the second book in the series Society of Savages. If these males are savages then sign me up. Great read Hope!
