About the author

I'm not one of those people who knew from birth she was destined to become a writer. I always loved to read and throughout my childhood I could usually be found with a book in my hands. To the disgust of my friends, I even enjoyed creative writing assignments that made them all groan. But I had other dreams besides writing. I wanted to be an actress or a teacher or a lawyer.

Life took a different turn for me, though, when my mother made me take a journalism elective in high school (thanks, Mom!). I knew the first day that this was where I belonged.

After I graduated from college in journalism, I took a job at the local daily newspaper and I reveled in the challenge and the diversity of it. One day I could be interviewing the latest country music star, the next day I was writing about local motorcycle gangs or interviewing an award-winning scientist.

Through it all -- through the natural progression of my career from reporter to editor -- I wrote stories in my head. Not just any stories, either, but romances, the kind of books I have devoured since junior high school, with tales about real people going through the trials and tribulations of life until they find deep and lasting love.

I had no idea how to put these people on paper, but knew I had to try -- their stories were too compelling for me to ignore. I sold my first book in 1995 and now, more than 30 books later, I've come to love everything about writing, from the click of the computer keys under my fingers to the "that's-it!" feeling I get when a story is flowing.

I write full-time now (well, as full-time as I can manage juggling my kids!) amid the raw beauty of the northern Utah mountains.

Even though I might not have dreamed of being a writer when I was younger, now I simply can't imagine my life any other way.

Always the best man by michelle major is sweet. The final blow-up and make-up was a bit too rushed for me, but otherwise, I thought the romance was really sweet, and I thought the kid Davey and the puppy Ruby are cute. My one snag is that the author built up so much how much Jase didn't really wanna be mayor that I wish she hadn't turned the opponent into such a villain. I get that he's learned that his value isn't tied to his contributions and so he's running for mayor legit coz he'll do a better job than his opponent, but given how little he seemed to want the job through most of the book, I almost wish he could have made a legit choice to give it up.

Dancing in the moonlight by RaeAnne Thayne is also good. I'm kinda meh on the hero just randomly carrying her around at times, but I like the heroine's mom. I found the hero really sweet and I like how the heroine learned to come to terms with her injury.

Loved it!

I loved this book! Both stories were great, but I think I liked the 2nd best, but RaeAnne's was great, too! Hers always are, of course, but this one seemed like it may have been an earlier story. And when it had "spice," I had to look back at the cover! I thought I'd been reading the other author's story! But no, it was RaeAnne's! I love & read LOTS of her books. They're full of slow burn romance & love & often make me cry happy tears. It just threw me that the story didn't "stop at the bedroom door", as I am used to. But I have to say that I'm not a big fan of the term "clean" romance. That makes sex sound "dirty," & it's not when you love him. But it is easier to pick out your next book & not end up with one that's kinky & raunchy when it says "clean!" So, this is an "un-raunchy" book that I REALLY LOVED!

New Beginnings

Dancing in the Moonlight and Always the Best Man are both five-star books because they were both about new beginnings. They were both entertain and fun to read. There was everything to like about both books and nothing not to like. I would recommend both books to anyone who likes to read romantic novels.
