I always enjoy returning to this series. I love the main characters and the setting in Cotswold. There's no curse words or romance in this book. There is a murder, but no graphic scenes. It starts off in summer but quickly moves forward to winter, so it's a perfect read on a cold, cozy night. It's short, so it can be read in one sitting. I listen to the audio version, and it reminds me of an old radio show.

Audiobook : Spotify .
Read by Neil Dudgeon .

Good, as always, but somehow lacking the hook that usually reels me in. All the usual elements are there, and I'm not quite sure what it is though - could it be that I was looking forward to more of the usual village characters, more of the village, more of Cherringham life? I dunno. Still good though, and still looking forward to the next episode!

Another great instalment in this series. I love these short and sweet books. And the biggest highlight keeps being the voice of DCI Burnaby:)

Love the series!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. I’ve mainly listened on Audible, but have also purchased the Kindle versions for the 3 or so. I know they are “shorts,” which leaves little room for the personal side of the characters. However, please take time for Sarah and Jack to take their relationship beyond friends! They are perfect for each other. It’s just not realistic that neither would go on to develop a new relationship after the loss of their respective spouses. If neither dates anyone else for years, then it makes sense they are really attracted to each other. So please take a little time in the story for the relationship to develop. It could be on the wrap-up at the end perhaps without taking too much time from the investigative part. The details could happen “off-line,” so to speak - between episodes. Then the change could be referenced briefly in the next story. If such a development occurs in the next few episodes, then please ignore these comments. If not, then….

This s another great book in the series. Quick read, with a surprising conclusion. Each book is stand-alone with the same central characters. For this "cold case", Jack & Sarah are ask help a thief whose life has been threaten because he witnessed a murder. There are a number of characters including the murder victim's wife and business partners. There are a number of twist and turns and the ending will have you racing with Jack to "save" Sarah who has a surprise for everyone.

Lukijana Neil Dudgeon.

Jack and Sarah are at it again. Trying to figure out who killed a man and the case had grown cold. And besides the killer there were so many people who were guilty of something else. It was very odd this time.

No romance and no swearing to speak of.

As for the narration: I've loved Neil Dudgeon in every one of the 40 books I've listened to. Especially Jack's voice.

I always enjoy the Cherringham books and Cold Case is no exception. It's a bit thinner in plot than many but I still had a good time and will happily read on in this series. I love the two main characters and there is no question that I would kill to love in Cherringham itself. I look forward to each of these books and read them as a reward to myself. I recommend them for that very reason.

Sara showed her moxie!

What a great story!
What is amazing is I can read it just as the reader does, because it is writen that way. Hearing how it is said in my head as I glance at it. Wow...
I usually buy the Audible book but had a mix up when purchesing it. So I just went with it. Great snowstorm, Felt right there, yes...Amazing!

Good who dun it

BUT writing is getting worse with each new episode. The story’s dialog is choppy and too cryptic to be enjoyable. The “know each other too well for words” is detrimental to the story. And annoying.

True murder mystery

No dead ends. Wrapped up tight. Jack and Sarah did it again. Cherringham is safe for a little while. 😊

Guilty pleasure. First Cherringham tale for a couple of years and it was as cosy as a sloppy old cardi.

Starts nicely, but turns out to be a real low point.
Actually, the most disappointing bit is that both Jack and Sarah act so (unnecessarily) dumb at times that I wanted to smack them.

A good book to listen too when you clean the house. It gives you ”Midsomer murders” wibes. It is fun to try to figure out how the guilty person is. Jack is a retired cop from US, Sarah is a singel mom and they solves crime together. This one was about a murder.
