First Light
“First Light” follows the life of Banty Witter, a college student who is trying to stay sober long enough to survive his senior year. Banty meets both Hannah and cocaine at a party and is thrust into an abusive relationship. When things go bad with her what had begun as an occasional snort quickly turns into a daily routine. Banty goes home for break before returning for his senior year more concerned with partying than attending class. Trapped on a small New Jersey college campus Banty is forced into contact with his ex as well as a new girl who lives outside his world of partying. The threat of not graduating along with this new girl’s different lifestyle forces Banty to battle within himself between self-destruction and salvation.

If it were possible for a story to be both light and dark, both thought-provoking and a page turner, then this is it. A compelling first novel from a promising young writer who clearly pours his heart and soul into his characters. A must read!

A dark tale of college life through the eyes of a drugged ip love crazed lead character named Banty. Good stuff indeed.
