Bellator: Libri de Sole

Rate this book
Seventeen-year-old Mateo Ward has spent his existence watching the lives of simple and average human beings while craving simplicity of his own. For the last Archangel, a craving like this was beyond his reach the moment the King of Hell, Lucifer, placed a bounty on his head after birth.

As the Last Archangel of Caelum, Mateo is the only one powerful enough to defeat Lucifer and control the Three Worlds: Caelum, Inferi, and Terra. The only problem? He's a teenager who has never trained, can't control his powers, and numbs his problems with alcohol and girls.

With time running out, Mateo must round up an army of disorderly friends in order to defeat Lucifer, fight for his people, and win his freedom.

"Some of us wouldn’t live. I hated to say it, but I had to be realistic. Some of us would bear more damage than before. But in that particular moment, we were alive and together, witnessing something tremendous happen. How could I ever ask for more?"

What an adventure. From beginning to end, you're dragged into a world that leaves you with more and more questions, flipping through pages to read and learn more about these characters. Angels and demons at war for a party-loving frat boy too busy with his romance (or lack thereof) to care about his impending doom until we're immediate dropped into a terrifying encounter with true evil. This book was fun, left me on the edge of my seat, and left me with a million questions. Will there be a second book? I sure effin' hope so! There's so much left unsaid and the people need answers!
