Rebecca Campbell is a Hay House author, grounded intuitive, spiritual mentor, six sensory teacher and co-creator of The Spirited Project and one of Hay House's freshest voices. Rebecca has been studying metaphysics since her first awakening when she was a teenager. She went on to enjoy a successful career in advertising as a creative director before she was 30.
Drawing on this unique experience, Rebecca now guides Lightworkers to courageously answer the unique callings of their soul so they can light up the world in a way that only they can.
Jet setter meets gypsy spirit, in her twenties Rebecca blogged her way around the world as The Skype Nomad. She also spent a year of her life bringing colour to grey spaces with The Let's Colour Project.
Originally from the sunny shores of Sydney, Rebecca now lives in London but you can find her down under most summers getting her salt water and sunshine fix.
This is Rebecca Campbell's third book, I have enjoyed them all and like going back to read random pages. This one is a level above the previous two and the first book written since she made the shift from a life in London to one in Glastonbury and since the birth of her son. The shift is palpable in the text.
In her familiar style of short vignettes of between 1 and 3 pages, she ponders philosophical, spiritual questions on existence from the perspective of the soul. The book is split into three sections, the first section EARTHED is about Who We Are from a cosmic point of view.
I understand the need to start here, but when I got to the second section REMEMBERING - Why Did You Come Here? I wished the book had commenced here, and actually recommended someone I had gifted the book, to start at this section and then go back. In this section, I really slowed down, not wishing to absorb too quickly each of the messages and activations.
It's not that it's new, it is not at all. It is just so resonant. And centering. Working on a creative project while reading this also worked very well for me, as it contributes something to the process, just reading it helps us stay in alignment with whatever we are putting our creative energy towards.
The third section PLANT YOURSELF HERE I also loved, the symbolism of seeds and flowers and growth, a view of authority, of being comfortable with being uncomfortable, of knowing what is true for you, how to quiet the noise in order to listen to a voice of inner guidance. Tools for grounding, meditations, star and light bathing, developing your own personalised version of devotion.
"Your life and your time are precious jewels. If someone thinks that it’s their job to point out the way your path should be spiraling, they’re likely ignoring the jewels of their own life. Don’t let their distractedness distract you from yours. Keep your gaze set. Politely invite them to do the same."
I loved this book and it's questions and meditations so much. Rebecca Campbell's work has been instrumental in my spiritual development. She comes with such a healing approach to loving ourselves, the Earth, and each other. This book helped me to see more ways (and have more confidence in) my role in healing myself and inspiring others. Especially helpful in these times of great challenge and division! This is one of those books i had to write in, bookmark and highlight, I'm sure I'll refer to it again and again.
Honestly struggled to finish this one. A whole lot of surface level declarations with no real substance. I got the audiobook, and if i had read the GR reviews more closely, i probably would not have picked it up - i don’t think i’m the target audience for this book. I did like the meditations and there are a handful throughout.
Didn’t finish it. Although I loved the purpose of the book, the writing annoyed me. Almost every paragraph (and often several sentences within) started “I believe…” Found it far too irritating to overlook.
I absolutely adore Rebecca Campbell's work and have read all her books. Letters to a Starseed has a powerful message and I enjoyed listening to it, however I felt that, in parts, it was a little repetitive. Saying that, Rebecca's words are beautiful and uplifting, and I'd recommend to anyone interested in listening to the callings of their soul.
I love Rebecca Campbell's work and I follow it in her membership site. Her work has supported my own journey in the recent years. While this book is very helpful, I also find parts of it repetitive.
I was a little familiar with the concept of starseeds so when I saw this book at the Hippie Butterfly I decided to pick it up. No, this book won't go into super detail about starseeds, but instead on how to stay grounded here on earth. The chapters are only a couple pages each so I kept this in the bathroom most of the time lol. Even if you don't believe in starseeds this book still has a great perspective and advice on how to just be human, instead of retreating into your loneliness because "you feel different". One of my favorite chapters was about empathy. I'm rating this book 5 stars because I'll definitely be picking it back again to reference certain chapters.
This was a very enjoyable read. It spurred a lot of thought and caused me to do a lot of journaling. It’s a great tool for reflection on yourself and identifying what your purpose here may be.
That being said… I found that the author takes a lot of spiritual liberties and assumptions but speaks to it as spiritual “knowledge”…. But that is kind of the whole idea of her practice, so I really can’t complain. I guess I found that many of my spiritual beliefs are just a bit different and therefore I had a few biases that I had to be careful of when reading.
Over all, this book was great and really helped me to open and expand my heart.
This was an incredibly "new age" read. I enjoyed much of it and appreciated the meditations/moments of reflection within which worked really well in the audio version. Taking the "take what serves you, leave what doesn't" approach with any book like this and you'll enjoy it too.
I really liked this book it resonated a lot with my own soul searching. I love the different perspectives she outlines in terms of forgiveness, self reflection, setting boundaries, love and service to others. I also liked the tips she gives on meditation & affirmations. This book was easy and quick book to read and encourages you to learn more about other topics. I will add to my collection of books. Very uplifting.
A few years ago I read "Light is the new black" and it was exactly what I needed at that time. Since then, I tried reading "Rise, sister rise", but it wasn't for me. Now I came across "Letters to a Starseed" and once again it came into my life at the exact time. It is a simple book in its form: it starts from the notion-concept of 'starseed', people whose souls come from different realities/universes who usually don't feel completely at home on this life, and what they can do to feel as such and complete their mission in this time and place. It is not a self help book, at all, but if you feel identified with this concept and you're going through a rough patch in your life, it will help you, I promise.
What I loved the most about this book are the meditations. Since I read it on audiobook, they were right there, so I could actually come back to them whenever I needed them. There's an amazing meditation to connect with your own Akashic Records, and to me that only thing makes the whole book worth it.
However, there are two reasons why I don't give it 5 stars. First, as an audiobook, the voice of the author was very monotone for me. I know she wrote the whole thing and it's obvious that she's the one who has to narrate it, BUT sometimes it felt like a robot reciting poetry -way too monotonous, plain and at times boring. This issue is important to me because at times I found myself drifting away from the reading, because her voice was so monotonous that I got distracted by every little thing around me. Besides that, from a literary perspective, I found it repetitive at times, specially when it came to the idea that one has to be present in this world, in this moment, in order to fulfill ones mission as a starseed. Since it's not a complicated idea, I think it was clear from the first moment she explained it, as the book's very central idea, and it wasn't necessary to keep repeating it.
Despite these two things, I think it's a great book if you're used to this type of readings, and specially if you're familiarized with Campbell's work.
Great book for getting in touch with the 'why I feel out of place in the world'. It's easy to identify as a starseed, and I feel we all have the fabric of the universe in us that deserves to be remembered. This book does just that.
Rebecca Campbell books and oracles were a find of comfort for me during hard times, because the mystism preached in this book is affordable and can be applied in everyday life through will to change and meditation.
However, it is not really deep (hence why people say fluff or shallow) - some experiences the author had are hard to experience, but that's okay, to each their own. Also the being tolerant with things th t make you uncomfortable is a bit of a naive take - there are people that want me dead because I'm bi and I think that's okay not to accept their ideas of, you know, wanting me dead. Just be careful, some star seed traits described look a lot like autistic / adhd (neurodivergent) traits and those need to be addressed with a professional. I think that for this reason it can be somewhat dangerous as it is a gateway to a whole structured system of thinking that is only seen via a comforting pov here but I have concern for diagnosis in "starseeds" and family members they might have authority upon. Sorry to be a party killer!
Despite the comfort I found in this book, I think it sugarcoats and ideology that can take you really far upon the excuse of self development, love and understand (which are good thing you should definitely work upon). She always speaks of changing times but times are always changing and people think they are living through the end of times since the early middle age so it is not a challenging take though it might be appealing. I think you can take the good part of this book without falling in the ideological loophole of a switch into a 5D dimension (that some animals have already made according to some authors), unless it is something that interest you and it's perfectly fine.
This book has a unique story. Two years ago I had a dream about “Starseeds.” Although I was a little bit familiar with the concept, it was strange for it to appear in my dream since I didn’t know that much about it. Later the same day, I was in the international book fair and a book titled “Letters to a Starseed” caught my attention from a distance, and I thought it was a beautiful coincidence so I bought it. I decided to read it after two years, and the reason I kept putting it off was that I felt I was unprepared to dive into an unfamiliar and profoundly deep concept. Now that I’ve read it, I can say that this book perfectly captures the themes related to “soul purpose” by connecting them to cosmic origins. This connection helped me better understand who I am and my core purpose, it somehow made me ponder about my mission in this life. I like how this book was written a poetic form of letters, it made the messages feel more personal and easier to understand. However, I did find that some of the ideas and words were slightly repetitive. On a personal level, this book was very insightful and gave a fresh perspective of humanity’s multidimensional nature, and collective purpose of healing. It also helped me navigate the challenges of Starseeds such as alientation, finding a sense of belonging, and the importance of nurturing and grounding one’s energy. Therefore. I would say that this book isn’t for everyone. If you feel drawn to the idea of a cosmic purpose and believe that you are part of a larger universal plan, or you aim to seek a comforting perspective in your soul’s journey, then this book will resonate deeply with you.
I had begun the book a while ago. But another book caught my attention and I switched. When I started reading again, I had to come back into my role and realize it were letters, to a starseed.
The first part: “who we are and where we come from?” Is a great introduction when you are new or just beginning in your spiritual journey. The chapters are well explained and in logical order.
The second part:” why did you came here?” Is focused on what starseeds are here for and what is rooted within you. She tells this part to inform about the soul. She does this in a more philosophical way, so don’t forget in between the information, that it still are letters. I forgot sometimes and found the writing style a bit too much “advising”. It helped when I stepped into being the starseed reader of the letters. I found the chapters about soul mission/ soul familie and soul bonds very interesting though.
The last part: “plant yourself here on earth”. These chapters I found really inspiring. The chapters about how to become more grounded, being an empath I found recognition. I thought I would experience this sooner, but it was here that I was triggered in recognize myself in sensing a lot of energies and emotions. That’s where the whole book came together I guess.
It is a well written book. Even if you are not spiritual, this book is also for you. It is a guide, with questions to ask yourself (on a soul level), with exercises to do, and meditations throughout the whole book that will lead you to your essence, to your inner being. Enjoy!
3.5 As a spiritual person who has a very precise way of seeing things, I like that this author has similar beliefs as me, I found things in this book that are hardly ever spoken about by other people which made me very happy. However there are some things that I consider complete BS also for logical reasons, for example, in one of the meditations she tells you to reach 5th dimension, listen up, if the universe is infinite and always expanding, how can there be a numeration of dimensions? I guess that everyone has their opinion and own believes but this is a logical thing, you can’t numerate dimensions because there are infinite to numerate, and when you talk about 5th dimension are you talking about a specific one and how do you know that’s 5th and not like 100th? Also, the labelling thing? Some people are alchemists, some are midwives so on and so fourth, I think that labelling is just an “aesthetic” thing of these days and is just not necessary at all.
Anyways, I liked her vision on some things, some others like “her visions” I have a very hard time believing, but yeah, philosophically it was good, I do recommend maybe if you are just dipping your toes into spirituality, but don’t only focus on her books, do more appropriate research.
Rebecca Campbell's work has been very insightful and Letters to a Starseed is a great collection of information on the subject that has little written anywhere. The idea of starseeds is coming up more and more in the media and I feel this book addresses a lot of the basic information for someone who is interested in learning more. It's a great starting point.
Audible versions of this book are helpful for the meditations and activations listed in the book. The questions and other information given are great reference material. She breaks down understanding some of the key people in your life, thought processes, ideas, and stories to help you connect and understand star seeds.
I do wish there was a section that would have gone into further detail on the ancestral line of starseeds. Perhaps in a second book, more information on how starseeds bring indigo children into this lifetime and how indigo children bring crystal children, etc., Would be a great way for someone to see where they fall on this timeline if they feel so called to being light workers.
um wtf this was really weird bc the first 20 pages had me bawling my eyes out and thinking about everything that doesn't make sense and then every other day it was god awful i guess i was just very emotional that first day bc literally the rest of the book was a nightmare well thats harsh but it was just really stupid and so not for me like i enjoy the concept of the soul and being here for a reason but i am definitely not a starseed like im just a girl so it was very hard for me to relate and understand wtf was going on overall it was interesting, i hope there are some out there who understand and resonate w this its just not me but ya i guess it was interesting and thank god it was short
I can write an essay appreciating Rebecca Campbell & it wouldn't be enough. Another book of hers that kept me going when I was going through a horrible period in my life with my twin flame. This book has a great beginner friendly section on soul mates & the role they play in making you who you are which I think was my favorite part because I truly needed that then. This book helped me find home in my body & make sense of my escapism tendencies. This book truly activated the healer in me & I found my spiritual mentor very soon after reading it. I recommend it to so many people. Thank you Rebecca! ❤️ Waiting for her next book!
I read this entire book on a plane ride home from a conference — there was certainly a reason why I was moved to purchase it, as I feel this has come right on time. Campbell does an excellent job of providing insight and rationale on discovering your innate power, and how to activate our soul selves so that we can do the work we were called to do on this planet. It was inspiring with poetry and mantras throughout, as well as practical in terms of the exercises and work we can engage in as individuals to see how we can contribute to the collective. I certainly plan on taking aspects of this book with me in my work to come.
Decent book. I like the activations in this. Had I found it at an earlier stage in my awakening it may have been more mind-blowing. Reading at my current stage it was more of an affirmation.
This book does unfortunately suffer from the self-help pitfall of 'let me tell you the same thing over and over and over again in at least 50 different ways' instead of just... saying what you mean in like 50 pages instead.
I love Rebecca Campbell's oracle decks and she's got some BEAUTIFUL stuff to bring to this world. I don't personally feel that her books are the most effective route to communicating those things. This was still worth the read for what it is.
I have read all of the author’s books. I would consider her a spiritual mystic. This is really a comforting book and one that also energizes you for this time in history. We are all here for a purpose. She is very encouraging, comforting and loving with the words that she uses. She has a variety of meditations, things to think about and phrases for activation. It’s quite good and very in-depth also well researched. You will not be disappointed. Rebecca Campbell has a gentle spirit that nudges you along leaving plenty of room for your own spiritual exploration.
This was my first time reading a book like this and it was incredibly interesting. I loved the wisdom and spirituality portrayed. However, the author repeats themselves a lot. It got to the point where the same idea was repeated. The second half of the book started getting more and more repetitive until the few chapters on empaths, which was very interesting. I was reading 1-2 chapters a day, but then started scanning/skipping as a result. Overall, very fascinating and good to read if you enjoy philosophy and spirituality, but do be open minded.
