Cara Greenberg had the good fortune to meet and interview iconic American designers Ray Eames and George Nelson. Greenberg researched midcentury design decades ago before its popularity resurgence. These factors allow Greenberg insight that other books don't provide. Accompanied with original photos and advertisements including those of prototypes that were never produced and an American home designed by Marcel Breuer make this an excellent read. The inclusion alone that George Nelson for Herman Miller only produced a few hundred of the iconic marshmallow sofa is worth the read. As famous as this design is, one would be led to believe it was mass produced like Nelson's platform bench. Greenberg also denotes which pieces are still in production, although this book is from 1995
