A woman with tragic beginnings finds love and her voice on her way to stardom...will the spotlight dim her hard-earned shine?

From the day Layani Cherise Bell was born, the world was betting against her. Born four months premature, the doctors didn't expect her to make it, but she did. At the age of six, Layani was diagnosed with leukemia. Again, the doctors gave her a death sentence, but she survived. As if that weren't enough, at the ripe age of thirteen, she lost mother and father in a head-on collision with a drunk driver. With no family willing to step up and care for her, she was put into foster care.

Alone and afraid, Layani befriends and later falls in love with Micah Jones, another kid forced into the system after tragedy strikes his family. Not one to cry over spilled milk, Micah passes his time away in foster care by making beats for local artists and daydreaming about becoming a super producer. After hearing Layani sing better than some of the greats, he devotes all his time and energy to making her a star. With hard work, dedication, and his encouragement, she's destined for greatness.

After a chance encounter with the charismatic CEO of a major record label promising to fulfill Layani's wildest dreams, it seems that she and Micah are well on their way to the top. However, the label has no room for another producer. Micah convinces his woman to go on to superstardom without him, and Layani is famous overnight. She has the world at her fingertips, and everything is perfect until living life in the spotlight hits her like a ton of bricks. Can she remain grounded surrounded by lies, drugs, and scandal...or is she willing to lose who she is to become who she's always wanted to be?

The Promise. The Persuasion. The Peril.

Layani had an amazing voice that promised to take her far. With the help of Micah, the young boy she met as a teen, she made it. Sis, was sittin’ high on the charts. But, when she’s persuaded by a powerful record producer to shift her focus on him, things take a turn for the worse. With so much on the line, Layani may soon have to say good bye to something or someone. But who? But what? Money? Fame? Love….or something bigger????

The coming-of-age of our main character Layani, gave me all the empathy i needed to cheer for her once she grew up. The development of her character however shifted in a direction I wasn’t expecting to see. This definitely locked me in though, anxious to discover the final outcome. While the story got predictable at times, the writer engaged me enough to stay with the story. I was sad, mad, and scared for not just Layani through the book, but for (my favorite character) Micah too. I enjoyed the read.

Layani Bell has the voice of an angel. Micah Jones has BIG DREAMS of becoming a mega producer. Together they’re a dynamic duo who will stop at nothing to get to the top. While Micah creates the beats, writes the songs and pounds the pavement in search of THEE DEAL that will change their lives forever… Layani’s job is to show up and show out! But what happens when singing your way to the top isn’t all it’s cracked up to be?

Platinum Persuasion isn’t your typical girl meets boy, girl falls in love, girl and boy lives happily ever after story. Filled with love, dedication, hope, heartache, betrayal, and triumph…This coming of age tale paints a realistic view of just how scandalous I imagine the music industry to really be. I loved the way the characters’ point of view changes throughout the story. It gives the read the feel of watching episodes of a sitcom. First we get to know Layani’s story, then Micah’s, then how they navigate the world together.

For me the characters were well developed and the writing was relatable and realistic. The editing could use a once over but it didn’t detract from the story. If you’re looking for a read to will piss you off but keep you turning the pages, then here it is! Take my word…1-Click NOW and read what all of my hype is about.

This story started out great. It showcased love, loyalty and determination. We have a couple trying to beat the odds with togetherness. One bad turn after another, they held each other up. I found myself invested in finding out if they made it.

However, there were some things that seemed a bit, out of character for how these people had been painted. The writing was good, the plot understood but, in parts I found unrealistic actions. All in all it was a good read.

Platinum Persuasion by India was a good read. I loved the relationship Lay and Micah had. I believe Micah lost himself and his goals and dreams trying to help Lay to become a songstress. My how the tables turned when she finally made it. This book was what I believe it would look like behind the scenes of the music industry. If nothing else I learned that everything that glitters ain't always gold. If you're looking for a good quick read check out Platinum Persuasion by India.

This was a good story. A young couple with big dreams struggling and hoping. I liked Layani in the beginning later began to dislike her. They say they ain't loyal. Yes ain't. I was rooting for Layani. Mack and Micah. They say that the music industry will chew you up and spit you out. What are you willing to give up for fame?

I thought the book was well written and definitely gave a good look into the music business. The characters were very realistic and the author did a good job making each one the star of their own story. I do think additional editing was needed but it did not take away from the story line. I look forward to more from this author.

Platinum Persuasion

This book reads just like a movie. I didn’t care for the predictable tragedy upon tragedy that affected the characters throughout the story. I was always hoping things would be different but…

I give Platinum Persuasion 3.5 stars.

Man this book was good! I was so mad that the main character was from Detroit and so naive! I wanted to yell so many times that we thugs in Detroit, we don’t get scammed. I really enjoyed this read!🥰
