The Devil's Deal #2

Fallen Feathers

Rate this book
One thing I did not expect when spending the night with the devil, was waking up the next day with wings on my back.

But then, I also didn’t expect to be caught up in a second murder - this time of somebody I actually know, to be attacked by creatures from hell, or to find out my parents were keeping an epic secret from me.

All this might be tolerable, if I only could fall into Nox’s arms and let him take me to that place that only he can. But until we lift his curse, I’m not even allowed to kiss him.
And man, do I want more than a kiss. He’s changing me, making me something stronger, something better. But if we give in, I’ll do the opposite to him.
I could kill him.

Fallen Feathers is the second book in The Devil’s Deal trilogy, and is a steamy fantasy romance. If you like outrageously hot men with Irish accents and big wings, you’re going to love Nox.

Whoooo! Fans at the ready readers because this one is hot!! And you will be left wanting more I assure you!

We pick up pretty much where book one left off. Beth now has wings that can only be seen on a rare occasions or by really powerful magic holders. They have a list of things to do and it seems nothing ever stays simple for the devil. So far they need to find the devil's book, find the missing pages, break Nox's curse, and then find Beth's parents. Simple right? Oh no, wait, I forgot the hurdles... there is a divine war coming and Nox needs to be at full strength, Beth is siphoning power from him, and oh yes, Nox is a prime suspect in a murder... What is going to happen is anyone's guess and we are left anxiously awaiting book three!!

Beth is really starting to grow some much-needed confidence. After everything that happened with Alex, she is starting to realize her worth and you can see that she is starting to believe in herself again. She is definitely a strong character capable of handling all the strange and unusual things thrown at her. Nox is starting to show a softer side to him that really gives us an all-around outlook on him as a man. He isn't just the devil- there are things he wanted to experience but had to fight for the chance. I really do love his character and I can't wait to see what happens with them both in book three. We also get a bit more of Rory, Francis, and a new character called Malcolm. There is a great feel with this series' characters- I really can believe in every single one.

Sloth is the first wayward sin we meet ( I don't consider Wrath one as she is in the picture and not running away from Nox) and get a feel for. The character, as well as world-building around this particular person, is really well done and you do get an appreciation of why Nox hates this sin the most. Based on this sin alone I really look forward to seeing how the others are portrayed.

I really loved this series and can not get enough of Eliza's work. She really does paint excellent backdrops, realistic characters, and her writing flows so naturally. It is very easy to get lost in her stories and I love it! I highly recommend this to readers who love the paranormal world, angels, romance, and steam (it has amped up on this book)!

Bentornate Fenici!

Approvato.

Alla prossima

Un saluto dalla vostra Mal

So, somehow Beth got some of Nox’s power through them having sex? Pardon the pun, but that’s one hell of an infusion to get from The Devil. Apparently one of Beth’s parents is a supernatural being of some sort and that has me wondering what powers Beth may have that she has not unlocked yet.

The page for Wrath has been sold and they don’t know where it is.

At first, they have no clue where the page for Sloth is, but they find it in London. Nox is able to get that power back, he doesn’t like it, but Beth reminds him of what good he’s doing by taking it back and that he’ll get more power with it.

Pride went to Singapore, and Envy has a huge online presence as a social media influencer, but her location is unknown.

Between fighting hellhounds, looking for the page of Sloth and trying to clear Nox’s name of the murder of Beth’s ex. There’s some intense sexual tension because apparently Beth is draining Nox when they have sex so they only have sex once in the whole book… but OMG is it hot?! 🔥 They make out a lot, they try to figure out getting rid of that pent up energy.

Nox gets arrested by Banks, who is essentially in charge of The Ward and is the one who has framed Nox for murder. Fortunately Michael saves Beth, but Nox doesn’t like owing one to any of his angelic brothers.

Once he gets the Sloth page, Nox and Beth are about to “celebrate” when they’re interrupted by Malcom and he plays a recording… a mystery man and a woman, Beth’s mother.

OMG! This carries on from where we left off and it’s every bit as good as the first book! Beth and Nox are back and this time Beth has wings. It’s an action packed adventure full of curses, emotions, twists and turns, drama and suspense. Then there’s betrayal and chemistry that is super hot and steamy and a book you cannot put down!

“How hard can it be, to finish a book that's less than 300 pages?” I asked myself before reading this book.
Well, apparently, IT'S PRETTY DAMN HARD AND THIS BOOK CAUSED ME SOMETHING THAT'S AN EQUIVALENT TO A READING SLUMP FOR ME.
objectively it's not bad, i think i just didn't read it at the right time

It's more a 4.5.

I have to say that the beginning was a little slow for me. I supposed I got spoiled with the first book and all the craziness that happened since the very first page. So, yeah, a little bit slow the first 3, 4 chapters, but then... OHMYGOD,WHYDIDYOUWROTENOXTHATHOT,ELIZA. Like I had to take a break, drink some water, take some air to cool myself (AND IT IS THE MIDDLE OF WINTER HERE) and keep reading, 'cause 🔥🔥🔥.
Beth is growing some needed confidence after all that happened with Alex, and girl, I'm proud. I love her strong mind and how she takes all the things thrown at her. And getting used to seeing all supernatural things, I mean, her life changed in a matter of seconds. Plus, she's having all these hot feelings for Nox (and I totally support her) and can't act on them.
But aside the horny couple, we get to meet Sloth, and some other new characters! which obviously, contributes to the story. I love how Eliza depicted Sloth, made me rethink about my own sins in fact, so I'm looking forward to reading how she'll portray the rest of them.
AND HOLY MOLY, WHAT WAS THAT END.
I'm pretty sure that in book three we'll see a more badass side of Beth (PLEASE) and for real, I do not have the slightest idea of how Eliza will tie the loose ends 'cause it was a big WHAT THE F*CK.
Yep, these books have me hooked.

Beth and Nox return in this excellent continuation of their story which began in Lucifer’s Curse, book #1.
Fallen Feathers opens after the events of Lucifer’s Curse ended with Beth waking up from a night of passion with Nox to find she had grown a small pair of golden wings!
Their quest begins to find out why, and Nox now fears Beth is no longer human and that his curse remains unbroken and changed.
This narrative turned into a no holds barred rousing action packed adventure as the two tried to unravel the mystery. There will be abundant treachery, secrets to decipher and Beth and Nox having to put the intimate part of their relationship on hold until a resolution can be found because as the reader will soon learn that act may be part of the cause of Beth’s new wings.
Expertly written and detailed, crafted to perfection dare I admit this second entry may eclipse the first book! Supporting characters were also intrinsically important in rounding out the story with kudos to the author for investing them with such life like precision.
World building continues to evolve and expand making this entry for me a most excellent read.
Enjoyable all the way to the OMG… Cliffhanger ending!!!!

This ARC was provided by Eliza Raine in exchange for an honest review.

This story continues from the first, right from the get-go. Beth has wings and Nox's power is waning. They still need to find Nox's book of sin's and the pages that are moving between hands quicker than Beth and Nox can imagine.
Beth has a list. Find the pages, find the book, clear Nox's name for the murder of her exboyfriend and find her parents. While investigating leads on the pages, we meet Sloth.. and he's in bad shape. Unable to fully control the power of Sloth, Nox knows he needs to regain that power, despite not wanting anything to do with it. But the page is gone.
With Nox's ability to now feel lust, despite the curse, Beth and Nox need to try to control themselves or face dire consequences.

AHHHH, I loved it. I love Lucifer's reluctance to be the 'bad guy' while still BEING the bad guy. He's my favourite type of villain.
5 stars cause Eliza Raine rocks the hell outta HEll.

Entertaining, fun adventure! This is book 2, so I’d recommend reading book one for the best reading experience. Beth is still dealing with being fairly new to all the supernatural business; plus, the little matter of her sprouting some wings, so she’s in for some exciting, dangerous times. There’s also some romantic feelings going on between Beth and Nox, but he’s cursed and all, so that puts a damper on them connecting. Beth and Nox have quite the chemistry! These two are trying to find some hellish book to hopefully break Nox’s curse, but of course, that definitely won’t be easy going. Cool action; love all the supernatural elements, and that Beth is kicking butt. Nox too! The whole deadly sins scenario is interesting too. I’m loving this series; I really enjoy this author’s writing style. Ready for the next book! There’s a cliffy!

Thoroughly enjoying the series so far, so as I have enjoyed all of Eliza’s books so far. The sexual tension between the characters is **chefs kiss** 🔥
Knox’s character does seem to have a good amount of depth. Beth on the other hand seems a bit insipid so far—-she doubts herself too much and hasn’t shown much strength so far. But I have a feeling that will soon change. The world building is fantastic and the plot, while not too unpredictable, has enough twists and turns to make for a fast paced dynamic read.
But please Eliza get a better editor. There are too many glaring typos in the series!

*same review for all three books, because it should be one book*

I am a sucker for a Lucifer story. Complete sucker. So, I loved this book, but a couple of things I wish were done better.

I understand the author is British and it takes place in London. But if you tell me your main female character is American, and grew up in the US until adulthood. Please have her use American colloquialisms. As an American, it was distracting.

And these three books could have been just one book. Luckily I pay for Kindle unlimited, so it is a "free book". But I would be rather annoyed if I had to pay three separate times for this story.

Great character development, has cliffhanger

Okay, so this one was definitely more of an information dump and where the plot thickens. I love that we are seeing different sides of the main characters and learning more. However, the book was definitely a bit slower than the first and with less action and smutty tension. Also, massive cliffhanger at the end... in the middle of a scene. I will continue to read because I'm too curious to see how the author will bring together all the loose ends.

i’m honestly really liking this series! the sexual tension between these two is phenomenal, the forbidden contact, the slow fall, all of it. plot points are solid. the first book was iffy in the beginning for me, but it just keeps getting better. i feel interested not just in the love story, but also the world around them and the action happening.
plus, who doesn’t love a little corruption from the literal devil? 😌🧎‍♀️
ABSOLUTELY looking forward to them being able to touch without catastrophic consequences though

I liked this book. This is the second book in The Devil's Deal series and you must read these books in order. I'm loving Beth and Nox. They generate lots of sparks and steam. The story is well written and captures and maintains your attention with a potent combination of emotion, drama, twists, intensity and suspense. Try to be prepared for the cliffy at the end (Ha! I wish you luck with that!!) and the wait for book three. This is my elective, objective review.

Things heat up and secrets are revealed and hunted for in this second book in a hot series. Nox and Beth must resist each other which was hilarious to watch. And do not forget about that pesky murder that Nox and Beth might be connected to. All in all a good second book and entertaining to read and I enjoyed it. Great characters and a good story that kept me guessing as to what was going on as Nox and Beth continue their hunt.

Part 2; just as good as the first🔥🔥🔥😈😈😈

Book 2 opens up with Beth not quite herself...she has Nox's power in her. A night of passion has strength her but has weaken the devil. That's not their biggest problem.. Nox's is being framed for a murder and needs to find the rest of his lost sins to fight the enviable war that the gods want to start.

I really enjoyed this second book and it had a great twist at the end. Can't wait for the final book.

So good, I wish the next book was out already.

I loved this book so much I could not put it down. I stayed up all night because there was no way my brain would let me go to sleep without knowing what happened with Nox and Beth. But now I’m sad because I’ve finished it and the next book is not out yet.
I would definitely recommend The Devil’s Deal series, 10 out of 10, 2 thumbs up, and 5 gold stars. If you like angels, magic, and romance then this is the series for you.

Although this is a departure from Eliza's usual Greek God subject matter, I've been enjoying Beth's and Nox's adventures very much. It was a total page turner, and I finished it in just over 24 hours! Blimey, it's steamy as well - I wouldn't let my Mum read it, put it that way! I can't wait for the final installment now.

A truly well written story with a great twist of ideology on who the devil really is. This is the second book in the series and leaves you wanting more than you could wish for. Fair warning this part of the story is going to leave you devastated that you don't have the last one to move on to. I devoured the story in hours and it only left me wanting more.

Good read, but getting tedious

I’m truly unsure how to give a review of this book. I enjoyed it, but to me it seems that there is a lot of useless information. I’m almost certain if some of the individual conversations and repeat descriptions of the main characters was eliminated, 3 books would be unnecessary. Also, having magical cases solved by a ‘human’, then ending with a cliffhanger, so taboo.

Almost 4 stars - Didn’t enjoy this series as much as the Shadow bound queen. No idea why. Characters good but it just didnt work as well. Not putting me off reading her next series but had high hopes and it just didnt quite deliver. Bit stagnant in places, then rushed in others. Realise its a fantasy but it just missed some really descriptive plots or behind the scene explanations, which made it a bit surface and unrealistic. Massive story to take on lucifer - didnt quite smash it.

this one was slooww pased I thought of quitting on this series half along the way but just at the right moment Eliza Reine cought my attantion again with that whole thing about Beths parents beeing agels and the invastigation in the murer of her ex Max hit a turning point. The Ending left me also verry courious for why Beths Mum would say something like that… Overall not Bad but not that standing out either. There are better series of Eliza Reine, still this is pretty good.
