There are aliens. Lots of aliens. Specifically, lots of alien males all who want one thing from her - for her to choose them as her mate. Maise has to adapt to a strange situation on an alien homeworld where she is being kept and courted, given her choice of steamy alien men to choose from.
It’s an alien dating game where she makes all the choices.
The only problem is that she wants a man who chooses her.
Can she find the right type of alphahole who can also be the kind of man to give her everything she ever wanted? Lucky for her, one doesn’t find an alphahole. Alphaholes find you.
Please note: This novelette has a LOT of adult language, steamy knotty romance, boundary exploration, tight spaces and a healthy dose of consent, communication, miscommunication, and respect.
If you are offended by unusual women, alien physiology, or quick steamy romance I doubt you would have even made it past the cover and read this far into the description, so please enjoy.
This is a continuation of the original Cryo Crisis 10 book series. It can be read as a stand alone and any of the books can be read in any order.
I'm just a lady with a foul mouth who really likes writing titillating stories about characters who go through experiences we don't have here on earth.

'Te tendré. La pregunta no es si, es cuándo. Esperaré a que decidas abrirte a mí y tomarme como tu compañero. Soportaré tus burlas. Disfrutaré mirando tu hermoso cuerpo cada vez que me hagas el honor de mostrármelo. No permitiré que pretendas que esto es diferente.

Taken by the Beast de Deiri Di Serie Cryo crisis homeworld libro 1
Argumento:
A lovely story of a young woman waking up to find she had been abducted. But unlike other stories with this theme, she meets a group of women abducted from various points of earths time. Loved the women and humour. Maise learns where she is, is a sort of dating complex, where alien men compete in a dating game. The men hoping to produce offspring to cover the loss of their alien women. She bumps into Beast and you know, he knows she will be his. There is an event and attempted kidnapping but Beast slowly learns how to woo her. With a few funny moments. Thankfully Maise really likes him and accepts his bond. A fun read and you know there will be more, given the number of women hoping for their own HEA. And of course, the alien men. :)

Interesting premise, but I found it lacking. I’m not sure if this is fully because I didn’t read the series before this or if its because this book is short. It mentions this can be read as a standalone in the summary, but I found myself really wondering if this was the case. I felt like there was parts that just didn’t make sense or would have made more since if I had read the prior series.
For example it’s hinted that not only this alien species, but the the majority of alien species need woman. They are treasured. However you also have the MMC say that he was offered slave women prior. It doesn’t match up with whole woman being a hot commodity if they can just be offered to you. There’s also a storyline about an attack on the building the woman are staying at/kidnappers that I’m not sure is overlap from the other series that I should be aware of or if it was something that was kinda slapped into this book a little haphazardly to be further expanded on.
I’m giving the author the benefit of the doubt with a 3 star rating as I’m not sure on a few things. It does have some ideas I would love to see expanded. I would like to see the full game aspect of picking a mate expanded on. I would also love to see some of the women from different era’s as FMC.
I also have a very petty complaint, but some of the character names to me felt a bit too similar. We get Ciara and Sierra. Gabby and Gabriella. It would’ve been nice for some more variety in background character names.

It’s not good, but it’s much more entertaining than I thought. It surprised me how much of it was actually based on lore and a plot. Likewise there was significantly less smut than I expected.
What a fun story. I have to say the storyline was fun to read. The characters and their chemistry was heartwarming. The literature of how to date a human was so embarrassing when Maise saw the video of the pizza delivery guy. Beast took one look at Maise when they were in the hall and decided then and there that she was it for him. I love how he went about wooing her and learning what made her happy. A sweet somewhat steamy romance story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Could not make it past the 8th page!!! Y'all new to start telling the truth on these reviews!!!! 8 pages of your not on earth any more and what century are you from!!!! This book was annoying!!!
Maise wakes up covered in go after being what the human women tell her is a “decanting” process. Yup the author compare bringing kidnapped women out of cryo sleep with uncorking wine. Buckle in reader as your in for a wild ride threw the crazy brain and off handed culture references that apparently appeal to Deiri Di. (As to be a pen name.)
Personally I can’t understand how this has so many initial 5 star ratings. Is there a book club out there that rates authors for a fee because this book was two stars.
*********spoilers below ***** read at your own risk *********** spoilers *************
The story consists of a crazy cryo “decanting” process. Before the heroine can even get all the goo completely rinsed from all her cracks and crevices she’s set down in front of miss-bossy pants for “here’s the facts” lecture where both Maise and the reader learn that a) she’s been kidnapped, b) put on ice and been woken up in the future, c) now in the possession of some group of unknown aliens at some undisclosed location and d) said aliens have few women so they plan to date you, most are nice. Maise only has to take part in a “Dating” game. So no pressure (insert sarcasm.)
I’ll give the author her due for going her own way on the “woken from cryo sleep” theme. But her world building has a lots to be desired. At the time I pen this review am shocked there are 5 books in this series (clearly I am not the audience but there is one out there.) Crossing my fingers she gets better as she continues. However I will not be reading to find out.
In route to her rooms directly following the “your life will never be the same” speech Marie looses sight of her escort only to bump into one of these aliens. First contact proceeds as with the following ….. "You are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen," he said, his fingers capturing a strand of her hair. "You smell absolutely divine. I am ready to fuck you now. I heard the human women here are eager to spread their legs."
Marie slaps his face. He’s fascinated. (Of course!) The next morning the daring game starts with a bombing, another speech, a breakfast and our hero mr romantic asking Marie out on a date to which she excepts and they depart immediately. That the books 50% marks.
No kidding, this book is wake up (decanting), speech, first date, another speech, followed by a second date with a happy ending. The End! Short and unfulfilling. It reads like some teenagers high school fantasy with a little ronch thrown in around the 92% point as an after thought.

Maise Bairsearch looked at the strange goo all over her naked skin as she lay on the pink tile floor. Apparently, according to the woman around her, she was in a sort of coma and now she’ll be just fine. They did something behind her ear so she could understand the “aliens”. Caroline, Rebecca, and Evangelia introduced themselves to her. They showed her the shower to get the goo off, and gave her clean clothes. Then she met with Sierra who was her “buddy” to show her around and answer questions. Sierra took her outside to cross to another building and, while Maise looked at the plants and felt the warm sun on her face, Sierra had disappeared. She thought she saw her go through a door, but instead there was a room full of men. One held her around the waist and she smacked him, only then seeing the horns coming from his cheekbones. Beast was a champion gladiator and he waited for the rage inside him to come out because she struck him. But the rage never came. Then another female arrived and led her away. But his mind stayed on the little human.
The next day, Maise was walking across the courtyard when Beast called to her. There was an odd sound and he grabbed her, protecting her with his body as a bomb went off. He had been telling her that she was the one he wanted for a mate. She had thought his bold words about wanting to have sex with her the other day had been disrespectful. Yet it was obvious that he would protect her with his life. Would he be competing in the contest for her?
This was an interesting story line. I loved the world that the ladies ended up on because they treated them well and gave them a say in how things were done. I also appreciated that the males were respectful (as far as they recognized how to be so) and honored the women’s wishes. Even with Beast, he thought about what Maise wanted and tried to accommodate her, even when the research he did was telling him outdated things women expected. But he listened to her and he truly wanted to be better for her. I look forward to continuing this series. It is different than the majority of other sci-fi stories we read, and it is a welcomed change.
Maise finds herself on an alien planet and attracts the attention of the Gladiator Beast. Maise comes out of her cryo pod covered in goo on her hands and knees on floor which is a nasty shade of pink surrounded by several women . She has a translator injected then is taken to wash of the goo and get dressed all the time being told information she needs to know. She is then taken to Sierra the woman assigned to help her get orientated and give her all that is known on how she got here and what her future holds. The people of the planet have very few females left and hope that the human females will find a male to bond and produce children with but no force is involve and she can say no to the males. While heading to her new room with Sierra she takes a wrong turn and finds herself in a courtyard where there are some big alien males with horns. One comes up and makes a comment she finds offensive so she slaps him than Sierra finds her and dags her away. Beast watches the small woman leave and know she is the one he wants to bond with.

I read the whole “Cryo Crisis” Series and was hoping I’d get to read more about the Sheks and their procreation dilemma. Well, it appears the Sheks have something more to say and won’t be silenced! I was happy to get a chance to dive into another series starring the Shek Warriors and their Human Mates. YIPPEE!! In this humorous, Alien Contact, Insta-Love, Novella, we meet Maise and Beast. Great character development even though the story is quite short. I rooted fervently for the two of them to find a way to the HEA they both dreamed of. These Shek Men are to die for! They are (well, most of them) the gentlest giants with true love and respect for their women. I was skeptical that a Hero named “Beast” could woo me over, but he sure did! There were the beginnings of a continuing plot line in the novela. I’m looking forward to continuing the series and see what the Shek have in store for us. I am a happy fan of Ms Deiri Di. When’s Book 2 coming out???

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! Can’t say I didn’t warn you. This is something a little different then what I am used to, but I liked it. Maise wakes up another planet in some game show where she picks the man, she wants o who will she pick …I like that it was a planet where the aliens were taught to not mistreat women and when women say no then no is what it will be but Maise wants someone who will work to pick her not the other way around. Beast this sexy alien and he will do what he has learned human women like to woo her although, it is amazing to see this larger-than-life gladiator all rough /tough be so gentle with her, but will she choose him back since the ball is in her court to make a choice?
I've read the previous books set in this world and I was really looking forward to seeing where this new series was going to go. I love the idea of a dating game to get to know the aliens hosting you - and ultimately, keeping you safe. Maise awakens to this new reality and vows to make a new path for herself; shedding shyness, lack of self worth and restrictive judgement. She's creative and a sweet gal. Thankfully, she meets a very handsome alien that, while they got off on the wrong foot, she girds herself to be brave and take a chance on him, while he willingly learns what she needs to be her perfect mate. There is danger, drama and fab heat in this read and I can't wait to see what other kinds of miscommunication issues arise as we meet each new couple. Good fun!
To be honest I figured this story would have a lot more steamy scenes. That it would be an insta attraction earth woman with Alpha sexy alien and hot scenes. It ended up being very tame ( there was a steamy scene at the end ) but the story was actually really enjoyable. A very shy, loner type of girl found herself awakening in an alien world. The other women she meets tell her how things are done and then she meets Beast. A sexy alien that wants to form a mate bond with her. Was actually a sweet and interesting story. ( I would love more sexy scenes in these books though lol ) or maybe a different title like... "Spending time getting to know Beast" 🤷 Not knocking the book or the author because I did enjoy this story...was just throwing an opinion out there.
Maise awoke on a different planet where men vied for a woman as there were few left. The other females showed her around and told her what was going on, helping her to adjust to this new life. One male in particular, Beast, seemed to spark her interest. He was a gladiator, strong and determined. He surprised her in so many ways, remembering the little things she talked about enjoying back home, like jewelry making. He also tried to use the mating files to approach her until she told him that was pornography and not what she wanted at all. Loved how they were with each other and how they discussed things. The ending was terrific. Well done.

This was a short, hot read. I enjoyed the male lead’s confidence and persistence and willingness to change strategy when he worked out that what he was doing was not wanted - he was genuinely working to be attractive and suitable to the female lead. I enjoyed the female lead’s willingness to try new things in a literally alien environment with so many unknowns and to take a risk with the male lead.
The story is dual POV, well written and edited, and truly stands alone from previous stories (as I haven’t read them and didn’t feel I was missing out). Great, steamy fun read

Maise wakes up covered in goop and NOT where she went to bed either. She has no idea of when, where or what but it seems that she has been sucked from her not so great life onto a planet with aliens. Not only that there are other human women there who are from all different times in Earth's history. The aliens from the planet she is on want nothing more than to be fathers or have the chance of that. Beast never thought that he would get that chance but here he is none the less. A chance encounter with the uncharacteristically feisty Maise and he is a lost man, I mean male. He goes out of his way to woo her. Beware the male's archives and historical database though!!
"When things seemed too good to be true, they usually were."
Being abducted by aliens and frozen in a cryopod for who knows how long and waking up on an Alien world doesn't actually feel like the worst thing that's ever happened to Maise, not when she considers what she truly left behind in the past, and realizes the possibilities a new life on a new world offers her.
Beast may not be the calmest or most civilized of the Shek, but one encounter with Maise and he's determined to prove he's the one for her.
I really enjoyed this done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read which starts a new series in a familiar Universe.
Maise wakes up on a planet in the future to find that after her whole life of self imposed solitude and shyness that she is being expected to be allowed to be wooed by aliens to mated with. One in particular immediately has his eye on her, his name is Beast, he is brutal, but shows her that he has a gentle side. Can she open up and let him in, she's afraid, but maybe this time she'll take a chance. If I had to put up one detractor to this story is that it lacks a little back story. I love the storyline and the characters and the adventure going forward. A really great read.

This was better than some other books I’ve read lately! It’s a short book, really it’s a novella, and it suffered being a novella. Novellas tend to skip lightly on world development & character development, or rush the love connections, which this is a prime example of that. I never really developed opinions/feelings (good or bad) for the main characters, but I liked the idea of the plot direction, I just wish there had been more content and that the end hadn’t been rushed. Not really wanting to read more in the series though, especially when the next one in the series is even shorter than this one since I have a huge aversion to short stories or anything under 100 pages.
Overall, I liked the story. But this is book 1 in a spin off series, "Cryo Crisis Homeworld". I didn't know that until I reached the end of the book and saw the author's note. The original series is "Cryo Crisis".
The hero is a famous gladiator. The heroine is a seashell jewelry maker with curves. He basically sees her and wants her immediately and then due to translation problems or reading inaccurate things in the alien database, he makes mistakes. I laughed so hard at the "I will deliver pizza to you" scene.
The story was a bit short for my taste. I would have liked more time spent with this couple.
Maise wakes up covered in goo on a alien planet. She along with other women from Earth are to tae part in an the alien dating game. She has only been there for a few hours when she meets Beast. He has been a gladiator most of his life, and approaches wooing Maise as he would any other challenge. Unfortunately his research is somewhat misguided. This is a quick funny read which I really enjoyed. I look forward to reading more in this series

Wow!! What an incredible story. I think I have a new series that I need to indulge in. Deiri Di has written an epic start to what looks like a great series. I can’t wait to read what is in store for the characters in this book, so far there has been action, romance and intrigue. What is the government hiding from the shack people and the earth women? Why are there incidents where bombs are going off and pods are being stolen and Maise almost been kidnapped? It just makes me want to read the next book.

I liked this first Cryo Crisis novella. I love the concept but it was a bit too pc for my tastes. I'm also not so keen on the women being able to dictate terms. I really want to know what the people against the Prince's ideas are up to. Gladiator Beast has a lot more depth to him than is first shown and is a pretty smart guy and I loved the 'pizza delivery' almost disaster.

There are some great characters in this story. Maise is uncomfortable in social situations and doesn't have much experience with men. She wakes up on another planet and is expected to take place in a dating game of sorts. Beast is a gladiator and the women on his planet don't want a bond with him because they think he is violent. I loved Beast and his fumbling attempts at courting Maise. Too bad his sources weren't the best which led to some funny situations. I hope future books will show what happens in the future for this couple.
The short story of Maise and Beast is an extremely fun read! It checked all the boxes I look for in a romance story. A shy heroine and a confident but emotionally vulnerable hero who come together to face their own doubts and learn to trust and appreciate each other to pave the way for a strong and enduring forever love. Beast opens up to Maise and shows her how well he listened to her and wants to protect and walk beside her through life. I look forward to more stories with endearing characters like Maise and Beast.
